SBI has outnumbered us for a couple of hours at a time during Maguuma’s bedime. NA prime may be a different story though, for obvious reasons. But there are numerous times when SBI has the numbers game on their side but don’t do anything with it other than take a paper keep back on their BL. But I can understand the inability to muster up forces and effort in a matchup like this.

Lots of Maguuma players coming out to play in the sun. Lots of commanders I’ve never even seen. What lovely, fair weather this is.

Run five characters through all three JPs puzzles everyday. Badges flow easy peasy.

My main is a support guardian, been running it since a month after release. I have no problem tagging and getting credit. 100% of my time is not spent buffing/healing. If you are playing a support build and this is the case, you need to get with better friends or tell them to stop running all berserkers and face tanking damage. I do not see a reason why you cannot buff, heal, and damage. Yes, your damage is significantly cut because you went for support gear/runes/sigils, but that’s your choice. No one needs a support class, everyone is capable of handling and taking care of themselves. And even if they’re not, you are not required to babysit them.

And you only needed to do, what, 5% of the damage? Since the patch didn’t they turn that into basically 3 auto attacks, regardless of the damage gets you credit?

I feel that giving extra incentives for buffing and healing would only entice bots. Press buttons, buff/heal group, auto run, set macro to repeat 1000×.

Which is good because 20 is all your server has. Because CD and SBI never have large zergs on and never outnumber us, apparently.

I actually agree with the OP. It’s not fair to have one side able to harvest more nodes than another. It’s like if all the ori and omnom nodes were on green’s side, that wouldn’t be fair at all.

No it’s more like we’re winning because we’re playing for points while the other servers are just playing for kills/fights/(fightclubsaresilly).

And no it’s not numbers/coverage at all, we just care more about objectives and points. That’s why we’re winning.

Also @skills, we’re skilled [clever wordplay] for team fights and zerg support which sucks in non-zerg fights. But that’s why we’re winning on score.

It’s not about numbers/coverage? If SBI and CD had nearly the same coverage as Mag, you would never see Mag in 1st. All Mag is, is a bunch of zergs against the 10-15 people the other servers have. (except the thief with the quaggon, I give him some credit) It’s nice to see you guys are afraid of going up a teir though. Guess you’ll have to stay out of WvW if you go up a teir so you can come back down to where you outnumber everyone.

It’s not the same. I need Raincrow telling me how Maguuma is unskilled because we don’t play for points and just enjoy ourselves.

Those are two different sets of bags, can you believe it?! The ones in the defeated pic are from the people we were able to kill after they pushed in and wiped the siege. Thus I didn’t have as much time to pick it up and was more focused on fighting.

I’m looking to leave Maguuma. My guild and I play during oceanic prime and I’m tired of there being literally no one online. I know your presence is lacking at the moment, so much that you’re even recruiting, but do you have anyone that plays during that time at all? I just don’t want to be the only one there again.

My EB JP consists of waiting to see if a mesmer will say “porting in JP” in map chat, (while actually benefiting my server by joining them on the front, yes i had to poke at you JP campers ;D ) then enter JP, get portal, acquire chest loot, leave.

I’ve always loved this excuse for ignorance, heard it WAY too many times on the forums. I don’t JP camp or even do any JPs and I know about the three fountains. I understand you were just trying to make a poke at others for knowing more information than you but knowledge is one of your greatest assets in war. Whether it’s PvE or PvP war.

No. I really didn’t know about the 3 fountains. You misinterpreted what i wrote. The only thing i was poking at is anyone who complains about the JP, and anyone who wastes map space camping it. Siege is great but doesn’t mean nothing if half your ma kitten itting idle waiting for that ONE glorious kill that takes little to no skill because you either had the element of surprise or the element of 5 other guys with you. (being on Crystal Desert we need every body we can get). I honestly had no idea about the other fountains.

I think its a great addition to WvW however for this reason. It always brings out the biggest trakittenalkers on servers. SO many party invites from raging players, the one time i was personally attacked via whispers from some invader its very amusing. It may sound contradicting but i’ll head down there from time to time because WvW can get stale but my main gripe is people who dedicate their entire playtime to it. But hey, to each his own.

I don’t think anyone dedicates their entire play time to it, and no one was saying they did. I also don’t think JP camping is any different than sitting in any other area in WvW and waiting for people to gank. There shouldn’t be an element of surprise, you should always be ready to fight in the JP. It’s all about griefing. I’m currently defeated in east keep and there is a SBI player standing over my body who thinks I’m waiting for a thief to rez me. I’m alt tabbed and just switching my armor every ten minutes and working on a project because I was going to stop playing anyway. But the fact that I’m wasting this guy’s time amuses me.

Some people find other things fun, but you can’t judge that they are “wasting” space on a BL that doesn’t even have a queue, and not helping their server.

Typical farming. Then they got their sweet, sweet revenge.

So you want to feel important, like you’re making a personal difference on the grand scale of things? Like being able to feng shui the furniture, items, and NPCs in Garrison in the shape of your guild’s emblem?

If you’re a thief, you can do a lot as a melee character in big groups. Guardians and warriors go without saying that they are good support and dps classes for groups.

Not that it helps the point but small groups can claim towers, claim keeps, and fight zergs. It’s all a matter of skill level and taking more time to do so. It’s a PvP zone, I don’t get why we need more stuff to do other than kill players. If that’s not in your interest or getting stale, you have other options in PvE and sPvP.

When you enter WvW, at the very spot you spawn in is an instructor. He will show you the basics of WvW and answer a lot of questions you may have. In terms of contribution, you do what you want or see fit. Whether it’s following the zerg, escorting yaks, running with a small team, or upgrading towers.

Don’t apologize for typing slow, it’s not a big deal. What about going at a different time? Using sleath, escapes, speed boast, dodging, getting a buddy? Thieves are especially good escorts to the fountains. The only Maguuma players I can guess that are tenacious in the JP are [CAMP] and [DER|P] but even then it’s just a few people at the start and it doesn’t go on for hours.

Necro traps can be seen and while the thief one cannot, if it’s set right before the well then you have time to remove the condition(s) and get to the well.

The system is interesting, but I’d suggest making the ranks account-wide, just to ENCOURAGE people to play whichever character they want…because as it stands right now, why should I bring my level 80 Guardian to WvW if all my work on the ranks is on my level 80 Ranger?

Because you want to? Honestly, playing like the new system doesn’t exist is the best thing you can do for yourself if you are worried about alts. Stop letting a new system that isn’t integral to WvW determine how you play the game.

The majority of DER|P wasn’t in eternal last night (or any that I know of). We’ve said numerous times over and it applies to many servers that EBG is where pubbies flock and is usually avoided by the general BL defense groups because it’s a cesspool.

Not sure what CD you’ve been seeing, but the DURP (rofl) nametag from what I’ve seen almost always translates into free kills. I’ve lost count the number of times when I’ve been in a small group that steamrolls a DURP-bad zerg that outnumbers us 2 or 3 to one. The DURP zerg of course responds with more numbers. 10 DURP bads aren’t enough to take a supply camp being defended by 2 CD? Then bring on over another 10! rofl

Interesting video of the cherry picked fights though, but doesn’t mean a whole lot. After all, I’m sure many of us here have been victorious when we soloed 2 or 3 enemies. Only thing is, not all of us record those encounters and post them on the forums in a bad attempt to look good. But hey I understand what you’re trying to do. After all, if winning doesn’t come often for you, then you must record+show the few measly morsels whenever you do get lucky.

While it’s fairly common for people to go on a rant about how a guild/group sucks in reply to a video of them succeeding at something, saying so in a means where you cannot verify or prove what actually happened is pointless. How do you know they called 10 people to the camp? How do you know those 10 people weren’t just passing by on their way to pick daisies? DARP is one of the smallest guilds on Maguuma. Saying we correspond to numbers is the best troll I’ve seen today.

! I will never in my life understand how you guys have the patience to stand watch over an all-green borderland with literally zero players from SBI or CD in it. But you’re good at it, and it’s important, so I tip my hat to you.

It takes one afk person, a couple of people that hate EBG, or not wanting to participate in zerg vs zerg fights or a golem rush. It’s not really patience as much as it is low effort for me because I’m doing something else right now. We also actually give some importance to home borderland defense.

You can become invisible to all enemy players for five minutes. How are you still horrible at the jp?

Leave WvW for a while, come back, CD and SBI are still chickenkitten scared of fights. It’s almost a pleasure to play during oceanic prime time because at least people don’t run from a 1v1 until they see their friends.

The oceanic presence of CD should really transfer to a server that plays mainly during their prime time. They’re likely to get something other than PvD and won’t have the rinse and repeat of not having anything when they wake up because all the other times can’t hold anything. They are the only glue saving this otherwise dead and weak server from drowning in the tiers.
