Nothing is going to “rub off” on anyone. No one is here to convert anyone to their play style, and I’m not even playing as I usually do, which is the reason I’m here in the first place. Even on FA, there are people who have the same priorities as AoN does, just as on every server. One person was vocal about their interests and you act like there’s a revolution about to start and grabbed your pitch fork. There wasn’t even an argument, just you whining about Maguuma. I’m touched you care so much.

I was one of the people who said CD as a whole wasn’t a mindless zerg. I pointed out specific instances and named the guilds from your oceanic presence that just seemed to be mindless. There were many people, including CD commanders that agreed that yes, you don’t use anything other than numbers because you’ve never had to to win. Now that the advantage is slightly cut, it looks like you think a lot more tactically rather than just “bash heads here.” That or your oceanic presence has dropped, because for some reason I had a hard time locating big zergs the size of what we’ve seen during that time.

Anyway, it’s just funny how someone counts 7 people as 15+, 45mins as hours, and not capping anything when a tower and supply camps were taken. It really speaks for the kind of mentality the person has. Hope that’s not a widespread thing.

Has the turnout for Maguuma increased since we’re in first? A few of us are doing a little experiment to see if more people show up when we’re winning. I saw there were 90+ people in mumble this morning at around 2am EST, I smiled.

I thought I had seen every stupidity imaginable in WvW until I saw AoN, a guild from FA, in CD’s borderlands.

They had 15+ players that didn’t cap or own a single thing on the map, and just zerged to anything with swords. In effect they did nothing but defend CD’s towers and keeps for hours on end.

It wasn’t 15+, it was 7. They didn’t just zerg to everything with swords, they went to where they thought enemy zergs would be. And it wasn’t for hours, there was no more than 45mins spent on SE tower on CD BL. Eventually, the tower was taken (for FA) along with flipping the supply camp. Jeez, talk about exaggeration. And there was a reason behind everything they did. Just because you don’t know what it was, it’s understandable to draw your own conclusion. But don’t assume you’re correct or what others are doing is stupid.

Dunno if you’ve encountered it yet, but people also camp the JP. Good luck dealing with that but there will be no need to post about it.

3 vrs 1 is not pvp. That’s called ganking someone. Yes it is a pvp zone but fights are a lot more fun to me when they are fair. That’s just my opinion.

I came from playing WoW, spending a majority of my time doing the open world PvP (Wintergrasp, Tol Barad), and was especially excited about WvW in GW2. I am still to this day absolutely amazed at what I CAN’T see during the battles. No matter what video settings I run with, I can only see half the distance I could in WoW, and the fact that entire groups of enemy players can run right by me either invisible or without ID tags above thier heads is shocking.

I thought WoW was based on a much older engine, yet could handle this much better?

I know it’s only been a few months, but if we have another large content update with added ‘fluff’, new gem store stuff, new class tweaks and even new areas or stuff to do, and the culling STILL isn’t fixed, I’m going to have a hard time spending my free hours in WvW.

You’re really silly if you think comparing a graphically intensive game like GW2 is the same as WoW, a game that can literally run on toasters (LITERALLY). There are many things to consider when trying to explain the culling issue, the fact that WoW is not handling, sending, and receiving the same amount and weight of information to scores of players at once AND in a high resolution (regardless of your settings) is one of them.

Both games are not created equally or by the same minds. Don’t expect it work like it is. Not trying to sound snobby, just saying.

Also no mag presence in Yak BL…only Mags are defending home and flipping Ebay territory in Eternal.

See you say that but the greater portion of Maguuma players were attacking SMC and attacking/defending camps and towers for hours, which, were controlled my Yak’s Bend. It was not PvD, we fought dozens of Yak’s and even had to deal with EBay trying to be opportunists and take stuff all the way over on Maguuma end of the map, including fighting us within the outer at SMC. As a whole, we did not attack Yak’s BL because we wanted to concentrate on EBG (for a secret reason) and devoted our efforts to that and keeping our BL relatively on lockdown. Any groups attacking EBay or Yak’s BL had their own agenda and did it either because they wanted to, or EBay was a soft target.

Give it a rest already, everything is not about EBay and what we can do to make your lives more miserable. That is only a very small portion of what we care about. But if it helps you to think that you’re being double teamed in a 1v1v1 match, go right ahead. :\

Edit: What also makes me laugh is that there are people on Yak’s who believe Mag is teaming up with EBay, it’s like a never ending deck of the victim card.

Which goes back to my original question, why cant they? I highly doubt every single last person that morning was new, a little odd that just because you lack commanders, everyone seems to act like they cant make decisions for themselves past “place flame ram here.”

This one really confuses me. You know who did it (because you can just mouse over the icon), they were obviously online, and you’re in the same server. But instead of PMing them and asking them directly or saying something in chat, you come to the WvW forum that includes other servers…? Am I missing something?

yeah and while we were clearing yak bl. magumma retook there BL and yaks broke out in EB followed by maguma. there was alot more of you guys on come 6am then normally. 26th is a day alot of people don’t go to work NA players were alot more active. i know because i was one of them.

I ‘m aware, and there’s been storms and all those good stuff keeping people away from work. But it’s still the holidays, so presence is fluctuating between everyone. And whether it’s up or down, this morning, DB still outnumbered us. But as I said, DB just seemed to give up when they were pushed but still had us outnumbered. It’s like nothing was a serious. I rarely saw siege placed other than flame rams, then once those were down and we arrow carted DB away from the gate, they backed off like that was their first and only plan.

East keep on DB BL seemed to be the only thing you really wanted. But I’m only speaking from what I saw, I’m just trying to understand.

I guess that puts things in perspective, but with all your numbers, do you really need commanders? I mean, aren’t people competent enough to lead themselves in small groups or parties and communicate through voice comms and/or team chat? I’m not trying to sound insulting, it just always seems odd to me when people use the lack of a commander as excuse (or reason, w/e) despite having overwhelming numbers. The ability to siege and know what to hit and how shouldn’t be limited to the select few with a shiny icon.

I can understand if more Yaks and Mags were on, but you guys still outnumbered us by quite a bit. I wasn’t even aware that Yak was a contender in the numbers game this morning since their BL was mopped by DB with little time and resistance.

I’m surprised Dragonbrand hasn’t managed to maintain a stronger point lead with the advantage we have in the early morning hours. Maguuma and Yak’s Bend aren’t going to let us win so easily.

DB seemed to give up entirely too easily this morning. They’d hit something, get pushed, then go to another BL. No seige, no adjusted plans, no hitting from a different door, just map back. Thanks for the late Christmas present, I guess.
