So we’ve been waiting for reset on friday for months, match reset a short while ago but now it says WvW is in maintenance mode.
Anyone else got this?
Would like old style waypoints back.
What made WvW great for me was indeed the multiple ways of attacking keeps, the people you fight with in your server and also not having to run far until you reach the next objective, this is why EB and the alpine borderlands are most popular.
The new map caused me to get bored on the way to the objectives, takes too long so I stopped bothering with that one.

He is looking for a T6 – T8 server, FSP is in mindless blob tiers not 6 – 8.

If you are on EU or NA it doesn’t matter, we have people running on both timezones.
Alpine hills and bay walls had edges that prevented you from falling off.

Does this mean that the friday reset change will be effective after the upcoming patch on Tuesday March 22nd?

And please do NOT try to solve the issue of night capping by changing how the system works during the night. The issue is gonna solve itself once the population balances out. WvW is a 24/7 gamemode, do not change that.
Scoring based on the number of enemies you face is actually alot more fair for a game though. It may be a gamemode based on war, doesn’t mean having every element in there is fun and works in a videogame.
I would put rewards at the bottom of the list to be honest and bump up population balancing and scoring. Then bring back alpine borderlands and rework the desert one (AND ADD A MAP ROTATION SYSTEM!) and then test the reworked version on open betas and work on feedback from there.

It only took them 6 months but the PvE event is finally removed from the game. No more easy nightcap via oasis.

To bring PvE’rs into WvW, you need to make it worth their while… REWARDS..

Considering 99% of all the GvG guilds have left because of the silent treatment from Anet: too little, too late.
Open a kickstarter for this as I am sure there are many WvW players that would love to send them “something”
This is starting to get ridiculous. Why does this message stick on screen when playing WvW? Everywhere you go this annoying message stays on screen constantly.
The majority of the players in WvW is not interested in PvP, why annoy us with it? The only place where this message doesn’t show is in the guildhall.
Arenanet: Please remove this message for people playing on WvW maps or add a toggle so people can hide your PvP marketing attempts.
Yup, no balance in this game at all since HoT regardless of gamemode.
The old bl do not fit wvw any more.
Who are you to say this? We have a thread on here with a huge list of people that think otherwise.
Also please learn to spell.
There won’t be anything done soon, so your best bet is to stop investing time in the gamemode altogether. There are some WvW alternatives coming very soon that might be worth playing instead of waiting for this overhaul.

To be able to organize a server to actually focus on the oasis event it needs to be predictable as in being able to see at what time a certain event takes place to be able to gather people.
Developers should create a WvW API endpoint that can be used to fetch oasis event data such as time and location (which borderlands) so that they can be used in WvW applications and community websites.
The dynamic nature of the oasis event apparently causes it to be impossible to predict as the start time of the event is based on the end time of the previous one.
Many PvE events already have timers for them, mostly because they are static. Seeing as this is just as much a PvE event as boss events these should also have webbased timers.
You already have the data to trigger the events, for once do us WvW folks a favor and make it accessible.

CoR skill should be removed from the game. It is a nightmare.
It’s still bugged.
Gaile, for a report, pass on to higher management that you guys should finally stick some proper development time into WvW because this is getting ridiculous.
Also CoR still does 10k damage hits even after the nerf.
Worst idea ever, implement this and it will instantly kill whatever is left of WvW. Unless supply gets a very significant buff.
Yes, the old maps are best for WvW. The new ones are PvE maps.
They have said in patchnotes that it has been fixed over 5 times already. Quality QA testing right there.
RIP WvW, so sad to see Anet putting no effort into this gamemode.
Looks like I won’t be playing the game for quite a while.
It is the same everywhere. Anet is letting the servers die so any serverpride that is left will be gone along with its players, then they will introduce alliances.
Problem for Anet is the old playerbase won’t come back so it is all a waste of time for the developers. Too little too late!
Verticality is HoT’s gimmick feature. To answer your question: no, it has no place in WvW.
Yup this bug is getting real annoying now, it affects keeps, towers and stonemist. Sometimes walls work, sometimes they are unhitable and sometimes they go down to 0% for no reason:

Noo i really hope that our players are smart and stay inside keeps and towers. When PPK is on best idea is to get lot’s of arrow cart kills.
If you want boring gameplay, yes.
Here are some other required changes and thoughts:
Forum:
- Are you going to remove the warnings and suspensions on the forums that your moderating team has given out unfairly to censor critical WvW / Anet posts as part of your damage control policies?
- Will you be restoring critical WvW posts that have been removed or hidden unfairly? This should help you get additional feedback if you actually bothered reading them instead of removing them.
- Why should we bother posting here if posts keep getting removed and/or ignored?
Ingame:
- Revert the waypoint changes so waypoints are accessible by the server that has captured the objective, always.
- Is PPT linked to just kills or is it linked to ratio kills and deaths?
- Revert the WvW upgrade changes so they are accessible by everyone again instead of having to pay thousands of gold for scribing and guild leveling.

Guess i’m looking for a server to have a bit of passion for when i fight.
Try Aurora Glade.
Only if you enjoy playing with toxic guilds and players or if you are into bandwagon servers.
Around 10-20 coordinated and experienced pug commanders, frequent scouting messages in chat, a ton of guild fights, good atmosphere, weekly open guild raids. GH is sometimes considered the ‘underdog’ when fighting big blob servers, commanders tend to deal with blobs by outsmarting them instead of bringing more numbers which almost always creates interesting reset nights.
All the facilities are there: community teamspeak with often over 200 players around, community website with shoutbox and forum and a non-representing scouting guild that utilizes HoT multiguild chat.
There have been a few toxic guilds in the past but those have since transfered off to gold league or Aurora Glade where their behaviour belongs.

Any population imbalance is inherit to the server design. However, one has to look for a way to fix the issue, perhaps by buffing scoring when there are only a few players online.
Getting rid of the server design would be a mistake as many servers fight competitively against eachother, removing this would severely impact WvW experiences. For example, in soccer two teams and their supporters usually have a healthy love/hate relationship which is what makes part of the game so interesting.
The most important thing to notice is this: I certainly would NOT like to see, for example, megaserver systems for WvW to ‘fix’ the population imbalance and would much rather like to see changes to the scoring systems.
At first I had faith in Corpening to fix some of the WvW issues. Not anymore.
4 pages worth of negative comments here and 180 negative comments on Reddit yet not a single developer in sight to acknowledge Arenanets’ mistakes on this one, not to mention all the other issues over the past few years.

Is this new reset day something that people requested? I personally enjoyed the Friday reset and it is the one time we get a lot of people from the guild together.
Exactly, nobody wants this yet the devs shove it through our throats. WvW devs seem to have lost all touch with the community. What a sad day it is.
The devs need to implement this as soon as possible to undo the damage they have done to WvW with megaserver.
It better not be recycled content…
