I know that Guild Wars 2 has a casual approach and Is intended to simplify things, but… please.
The level of character customization Is really nice atm, but the lack of voice customization (i.e tone, pronounce, etc) Is really dissapointing.
As one who would love to have a Asura with a goofy tone, I humbly request this to be a main feature on this game. Please.
Since we have one that can only be obtained If you buy the Collector’s Edition, so… why not? From goofy ( Summons a angry quaggan to deliver multiple strikes with his fist on a single target) to something more “serious” (Invokes Dhuum to attack multiple targets with his schyte), etc.
I’ll just let this idea for now. If more people agrees/shows interest, I’ll post more ideas for skills.
As someone who mains a male character… I simply don’t care. It’s just a character that I had the option to customize and change Its shape a “little”. Not like I’d say I wouldn’t play Tomb Raider because the main character Is a girl: Sure thing I would.
tl;dr: It’s just a game.
Races that does not have any shape and/or size that assembles/remembers humans In any way. Something like, a “Liquid” form that does not wield weapons, but mutates one In order to deal damage. Or “injects” (Or creates, I dunno) a specific liquid In order to gain more defense and/or resistance. Their only way to communicate Is the mind, and senses to locate objects and move around.
I have some other ideas regarding unique races. But If someone Is interested, I can add more to this thread.
And I think this would be something really unique, adding that feeling of “new”, once again, to the MMORPG genre. Instead of the good old “Oh, I’ve seen that face somewhere”.
In short: Is this possible?
Try to picture the following: 8 to 10 Krait dolls standing on the ground, while a goofy-like quaggan acts like the ball, where the player throws the quaggan towards the Krait dolls to gain points.
Sounds nice and funny, I guess. Any comments about this?
No, really. What Is better than joining a team with randoms and (randomly) smashing a bottle of wine on someone’s head and gaining points by doing so!
I know that Bar Brawling was being worked on, or gave up, whatever…. but my request Is this: By all means, PLEASE add Bar Brawling to this game! I’d play It nonstop until the very last seconds of my life! PLEASE!
Seriously.
With love,
A semi-frustated gamer.
I believe this will end up with “I lost my faith In humankind” or similars, so I’ll just tell you this:
If you want a better online gaming experience, community-wise: AVOID CONVERSATIONS IN PUBLIC CHAT. Because you will opening yourself to the public, wich means: To “any sort of people”. (i.e: It’s self-explanatory). So If you want someone to chat with or anything else… do so with your guild members only. But since this Is about player interaction with others… sadly, this will tend to happen quite often. It’s all about making your part and being satisfied by doing so.
Something like, “WvW 2.0”. But this time, your server will be facing every other server that exists on this game.
Call me a “chaotic fanatic”, “oh god that will make the game lag harder” or whatever comes In your mind: just make It happen, a dot net.
In short: Farming 2.0. A bunch of NPC’s patrolling/running around, with the event active circle, killing a horde of monsters that appears In the appropriate time. XP Is rewarded based on the time all the mobs have been wiped. It also gets increased altogether with the mob level/difficulty, that If everyone gets wiped, the event resets but It goes on and on In a loop.
To give an “interesting” option to grind/farm and to let the world more “alive”.
Sure, It takes 4 days to 1 week playing 24/7 to reach lv 80….but the game forced me to repeat events countless times In order to gain levels faster. With that said, I -think- It goes against what the devs said about the “lack of grinding” (i.e repeating the same thing again and again In order to archieve progression) and the leveling should be more straightforward. Like, making a player to do most events and hearts, but not forcing him/her to do -ALL OF EM- In order to reach a level so the game can tell you to go forward on your storyline. 1 hour does not “hurt” compared to what other MMO’s have to give, but… let’s say… It “upsets” me, that’s all. I mean, events are too scattered that sometimes, I had to repeat a event over and over again In order to archieve progression faster.
What I’m requesting here Is to make the player feel that everything Is optional, and not mandatory In order to level up. Or maybe should I say: A way that even If the player so desire, s/he can skip most of the content to reach max level faster. Or to give more rewards, to speed things a bit.
TL;DR: Vistas, skill points and everything else must be optional, and not necessary In order to level up.

Title pretty much says It all. But I’ll throw a little “plus”:
As a corrupted human/asura/etc that has Its faith changed by a miracle: A formula able to revert the situation and change him back to his normal shape.
That would be nice and…educational, perhaps? Like, the story has Its bits with “Crime does not compensate”, or “Being evil Is not cool”. Those kind of stuff.
Let’s say…. shield, for Guardians. Every offensive/defensive trait will get a trait that Is specific for shield. Say, “30% chance to knockback targets while using a shield skill” on the offensive trait. “10% chance to heal by 50” on the defensive line. Well, you get the idea.
Guardian Is not your "tanker" class: more like, a "jack-of-all-trades" warrior.
in Guardian
Posted by: GustavoM.7605
I came with this decision after playing for more than 2 months nonstop as a Guardian, and trying Warrior by the past three days. It’s amazing how the Warrior trait emphatizes “pure” specs, and not throw random traits like damage, chance to burn etc on your defensive traits. Really, It took me mere 2 minutes to notice wich traits to use as a tanker warrior, while the Guardian traits “forced” me to try something like an “all-around” spec.
Not saying this Is bad and Guardians are bad altogether, etc. Just that Is quite dissapointing on how Guardians can’t be “effective” tankers/damage dealers/etc compared to Warriors. Like the game tells you to "Hey, you can’t be a “pure” tanker. But don’t worry about that ~ here’s a offensive trait to compensate your lack of defensive attributes."
Make players gain small chunks of xp while doing something for your server:
1- Killing enemy players
2- Patrolling an area
3- Guarding a support camp/keep/etc.
4- Repairing a siege weapon (I don’t know why this Is not available yet imho.)
5- Buying and placing siege weapons.
6- (Anything else that Is helpful goes here).
What do you guys think?
Since we can hire a merchant, a TP npc, a banker (permanent versions of those In a near future), be a commander…. so why not, a NPC that grants you max level for a fee?
Make It 100g, 200g, I don’t mind. As someone who Is getting close to have a double time working (two simultaneous jobs), this will be a necessary for me and many others out there. And yes, I’m aware about the mists… but I also want to be lv 80 on PvE and WvW.
I hope you guys consider this suggestion. Thank you.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Damage
Damage done = (weapon damage) * Power * (skill-specific coefficient) / (target’s Armor)
How much 1900 vs 2000 toughness reduces damage depends on your +armor from your gear. Going from 1900 to 2000 would be a 5% damage reduction if you had zero armor from your gear. Seeing as no one has that, it will be less than a 5% reduction even for light armor classes. Eyeballing it you’re probably looking at between about 3.5% and 2% depending on what kind of armor you wear.
edit: Going from 1900 to 2200 is probably between a 6-11%ish decrease in direct damage taken.
Fair and precise enough. Thanks for enlighten me.
It has been mentioned by some people that Toughness soft cap Is 1900, and above that damage reduction gets lower compared to this point. Just asking If this Is true, and how Toughness works regarding damage reduction.
Well I couldn’t find a forum section regarding questions and such, so my apologies if this thread does not belong here at all.
Thanks.
“If you are out of time, use your portable waypoint and call your friends right away! This item can be used once and stays 5 minutes In the world. This can only be used In PvE.”.
Since we can have a merchant, TP, bank that we can access anywhere… why not a waypoint?
Are you sure, the difference between 1900 toughness and 2200 toughness is not that much. 1900 is rather a tank already.
Sorry to randomly hop on this but… can you explain this, please? Do you have any proof?
Because as far as I know, there’s a considerable difference within additions of 100 toughness per chance. Something like, 5% damage reduction If I’m not mistaken.
All In all, please explain.
Such as mob summons, quiz, hide-and-seek, racing and many others.
That would be a nice addition to the game, enhancing the line between community and the game devs.
So you are telling me that making players even In gear and everything else, and how does the game does not “force” you to do anything Is a bad thing?
Heh. The more you know.
As everyone else said here…. maybe this game Is not for you, OP.
As a Guardian who has been played more than 200 sPvP matches… yes, this nerf has needed. All buffs for 10 seconds was pretty much, a “demigod” mode activated for Guardians: -33% reduction of all incoming damage, 20% more critical chance, 1,7k+ healing per 10 seconds, 33% of all incoming damage is sent back to the attacker and so on. In. 10. Seconds.
All I can say Is: Gg, and keep up the good work, ANet. But there’s still alot of tweaking to do.
Since we are talking about Bunny Ears…
ANet should make a Mystic recipe or anything to make a Bunny Ears + Sunglasses combo.
Really. I’d buy such a thing right away If It happens.
Yes, you heard It right: I’m requesting someone that specializes only on making skins: medieval, tribal, urban, futuristic, gothic, whatever. ANYTHING that fills up the Cash Shop and allows everyone to customize their characters further.
Please.
Upper headgear, middle headgear, lower headgear, chest, belt, back, feet, hair accessory, arm accessory, tattoo (?).
For more interesting combinations within town clothes.
Endgame is not some whimsical abstraction that you make on your own.
I already said about this In my first post, lacking a few details. So let me try to enlighten things a little bit more: It’s useless for the devs to call a certain feature as “endgame” If you don’t care about It.
I know two/three of my childhood friends that still plays -AND- roleplays In Ultima Online. Ultima Online Is a RP-focused game? No. Are they enjoying It, even If repeating the same thing over and over again? Yes. Would make It valid for them to call RP as a “endgame” for Ultima Online(ITT:* Content you enjoyed and don’t mind repeating*)? YES.
“Endgame” Is not a concept being renewed by a some sort of “magic automated script” that gives you something “new” to do everyday. Nor the opposite: “Grind for power”, or for “looks”.
This may seem weird, but as the same way “fun” Is subjective… “endgame” Is -also- subjective. It Is, simply, what you enjoy the most In a online game. That certain feature which even If you repeat, you will never get bored.
Sure, devs can work In ways to renew and/or improve a certain concept that attracts your graps more than other concepts. But that will not do any good If a dev comes at you and says "Hey, what do you think about improving PvE? Let’s add a “family” feature, where NPC’s can create families randomly and populate towns, where their sons, grandsons can also constitute families!" as your “focus” Is on PvP.
If you have read this far, thanks for your time and understanding. Or else, If you have simply ignored most of this… thanks for your time also. I just wanted to “vent” this out of my throat, to show that Devs can’t “create” endgame: -YOU- are the one responsible to create your -OWN- endgame.
Thank you.
“Avenger”
- Vitality
- Toughness
- Healing power
With priority on Vitality.
Since “Berserker” Is a “glass-cannon” status combination, I don’t see a problem with this being Its countterpart. Meat shields deserves some love too, you know.
Ah, c’mon! Only one reply? Why aren’t you guys interested In ninja quaggans with their epic backflips and such, taking down your dragons all day errday?
I know you want It, Anet.
I know! Very deeply inside your hearts, there’s alot of giggling when you guys read this!
MAKE IT HAPPEN, FOO! >:]
With love,
Someone who expects a Minstrel Quaggan In 2013.
After playing for more than 3 months, I’d say “maybe”, or should I say: “If I was a casual player.”
The current meta for PvP Is absolutely horrible with 0 strategy and tactics whatsoever. It’s like I’m playing a insta-gibbing FPS with RPG elements. Sure, tPvP softens this up a bit… but It’s still there. Wich Is dissapointing, with all the “When It’s ready” chit-chat.
At least WvW and PvE are there to give me a few grins here and there.
If I had to make a brief review of what PvP looks like In GW2, I’d say:
“Think Call of Duty with RPG elements, where everyone Is holding a Sniper Rifle”.
ITT: They focused too much In the action, and let strategy/tactics aside In a corner. It’s like an attempt to let PvP more casual and “easy” for everyone.
As someone who doesn’t have a perfect English and/or punctuation, I humbly request this.
As someone who mains a Guardian for more than 200 PvP matches.
Nerf It by 50% of the current time for all buffs or as the skill description says, when an ally has a condition, and not everytime by himself, etc.
Mix It with the support tome, and It’s literally /godmode for palad—- Guardians.
(ps: I don’t use this shout and never plan to do so.)
Allow me to jump on this bandwagon with the following:
Zerg will always win every online game out there. If one side has 50 ~ 100 more people than yours, you will lose. There’s no such a thing as a tactic to “overcome numbers” In online gaming. Simple as that.
With that said, OP….
Deal with It.

Skills, NPC’s…everything.
Because I’m kind of fed up to hear “I can outrun a centaur.”
Built-In video recorder, and "record the last 5 minutes of gameplay".
in Suggestions
Posted by: GustavoM.7605
Yep, I know about Fraps, Dxtory and friends. But some people can’t and/or did not cared to afford a license for such programs. And It also can motivate people to record videos and send to youtube…!
I also have this feel of “It’s not really necessary” while I type this, but…. nah, what the hell.
-EDIT- Oh, and to add on this topic: How about a “Record the last 5 minutes of gameplay” altogether with this, when something epic happens and you weren’t recording anything, etc. Something that activates when you are fighting against a player, or fighting more than 5 simultaneous mobs or anything of the sort. Where a window pops up after the timing, asking If you want to discard or save the recorded video.
(edited by GustavoM.7605)
Well I’m starting to see a few people using skills with zero cooldowns, and running super fast, etc…. so I guess we will need such a thing really soon.
Most of you may already know that backstab, heartseeker, killshot, confusion, warrior GS “spam-1-to-win” (Feel free to add others) does “corrupt” the nature of the game. Or should I say: Everything that rips half of your hp In a single hit. As a tanker.
Guardian. 3k + armor. 22k+ hp. And still being hit by 12k’s via backstab and friends.
Call me a “QQ’er”, “lul get bettah nub”, “lrn2play”, “dodge moar”, “those classes are meant to make damage nub” and similars. Not saying that I can’t deal with those and die often. “Au contrair”: I -DO- can kill and deal with most of those “cheapstakes” skills and such.
Just showing my dissapointment and how this game Is falling into a “1-hit-wonder” spamfest.
May the flames begin.
Allow me to add a bit more of feedback with a few “dancing moves” ideas:
- Air punch (right hand)
- Air punch (left hand)
- Walk backyards (left foot)
- Walk backyards (right foot)
- Knee drop
- “Groovy” wave hand (right hand)
- “Groovy” wave hand (left hand)
- http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=oRlT8ZoExGU#t=48s <- ^ This.
As you may already notice, the basic idea Is to give /dance a “Do It yourself” feel.
(edited by GustavoM.7605)
The group thing…they could apply the combo field mechanic….
Certain dance moves lay a combo field, and then other dance moves change depending on the combo!!
The idea of giving suggestions to this part of forum are those that adds something new to the current game mechanics. Combos looks a fun addition, but I somewhat doubt one of the devs will spend his time on trying to add such a thing to this game. Don’t take me wrong: Your idea Is nice, but somewhat impossible to happen due to the nature of this part of the forum. Feel free to prove I’m wrong, tho.
All of this would be incredible, especially if combined with town clothes options.
Or to look goofy while WvW’in. Or, who knows… private dancing tournaments.
I am more than fine with the gem store having little things like this for fun, rather than being used an option to pay money to bypass the deliberately annoying or deliberately inadequate things about the game.
So do I. “Dancing moves” can be as harmless as clothes (Or even better than, In a matter of “profit”) since It’s something that everyone likes and enjoys. And the best of all: Does not hurt the game nature In any way.
“lets twist again like we did last summer . Lets twist again like we did last yeeear.”
Does that tell you my stance?
Excuse me while I make a asura called “Chubby Checker”.
(edited by GustavoM.7605)
I haven’t suggested this as a town toy as a way to let this more “free”, instead of making a player to join a specific town to use this feature.
Oh, and… just a “plus”: Adding “dancing moves” that can only be performed with two, three or even ten people simultaneously can let this even more neat. Something like, a player invites two/three other players to a party, and (Group-specific moves goes here) becomes available for the group to use.
Also I really hope this idea Is taken into consideration with the GW2 team. The ideas of dancing moves can be endless, leaving this as a nice (and viable) cosmetic option for everyone.
-EDIT- About that thing I said about “improving” a dance move. Let’s say that every player starts with five moves, that s/he can change the order how the moves are set accordingly (Exactly how everyone can change utility/heal and elite skills: Click, and a “move list” will be shown. Also ones that haven’t been unlocked yet.) and all those moves looks goofy and/or badly coordinated. Then, a “improved” version of that same move will be available on the Cash Shop. Something like, “Groovy level 2”. And when the player “unlocks” the next ranking of that move, that same move will be improved, and will look “less goofy”. Until the “ultimate move”, that looks all perfect and edilaydila. You get the idea.
(edited by GustavoM.7605)
Like, a player’s weapon skill set changes to five different “moves” while /dance’ing, that can be improved/adquired via the Cash Shop. And also changed based on the player’s preferences.
Something like:
1- Twist
2- Shout
3- Spin
4- Jump
5- (Change to a different move list)
So, my dear reader….what do you think? Leave your thoughts right below, and help this suggestion flow.
You know… grabbing a enemy, punching It In the face and then smashing his head against the wall. Those sort of thing.
I don’t know If this Is possible (Something like a “grab” animation, where your weapon skills turns Into:
1- Punch
2- Kick
3- Drag around
4- Smash head against the wall (If near a wall)
5- A zangief-like slam to the ground )
Where every class has access to this “third weapon set”, that can be activated everytime a player successfully grab someone.
That would be pleasing. Specially on sPvP.
Thanks for reading. Comment away.
For me, It does worth It.
Sad to see that most of those who does not agree are those with issues that they can solve/deal with It by themselfes.
As title says.
You know, those “red circles” when a enemy throws an AOE on you.
This Is also suitable when someone attacks you while you alt + tab’d your client (Check emails, etc.)
