Not a bug, that part of Phase 1 wasn’t extended.

The Largos guy was the only one I needed on my main character. Now it’s the only missing step for both of my high levels…
I’m kinda annoyed that we waited this long for a fix to Canach and Noll, only to be denied completing the chain because Fadh and Saballa are gone.

Up, and bugged. Tried two overflows and my home realm.
He was working fine the first day, until he vanished (accidentally killed I assume). On the second day, he didn’t die, but after a few defeats, he’d simply lie on the ground with his gaurds, which is what he’s doing now, again.
Edit: I stand corrected. Tarnished coast – He reset finally, after a long wait, and I was able to defeat him and get my mail. His ‘reset’ timer after being defeated in the event is a lot longer now, than it was previously.
It was something like 15 seconds before, feels about 10 minutes now.

I wasn’t aware this was a shortcut, it’s how I got up… I’ll have to do it again and see how much I skipped.

I was part of the initial zerg on Southsun in the Overflow that I was in, so the lag was horrendous, and nearly as bad as yesterday for me.
Still, I very thoroughly enjoyed the chain of events I experienced. Aside from ironing out a few bugs, Lost Shore has been quite fun.

It doesn’t help any that the veteran Karka have the buff that effectively makes you have to kill them twice. I kinda wish the de-armoring was a little more clear for new players, I’ll say that much.
For the toast!
Maybe I’m just spoiled with WoW doing a good job of walking you through the steps.
No offense, but I literally laughed at reading this.
I’m honestly not too sure how the start of the event could have been much more clear. The Lost Shores objective display in the upper right gave step by step instructions on where to go as things happened. NPCs and the harbor departure location were marked on the map..
… Unless of course, it was bugged. On my end there where no step by step instructions (just that the lionguard was preparing weapons – it said exactly the same thing throughout the “event”), the NPCs just dissapeared, the Karka “event” started and ended in minutes followed by exactly nothing. No NPCs, no marked harbour location.
I wasn’t aware some overflows or players were’t getting the objectives updated. So yeah, that’s a definite bug. Regardless, the map location for the harbor is there on every Overflow now, that isn’t suffering from the HP resetting karka champ.

You guys really haven’t noticed that the behavior is the same as that of story mode mobs?
Some event mobs, like in story mode, are basically fodder. You kill them, there’s no loot, no kill credit (you can tell if you have a sigil that builds stacks for example, it won’t build on the ‘fodder’).
They’re usually only seen in storymode, and during specific one time events, like the taking of Southshore Cove.
Calm down and explore the Cove, kill Karka that are still all over the island now that the initial event is over, you’ll get your Karka kills in no time.
Seems like intentional design, not a bug to me. It’s to make sure people can’t farm rapid spawning mobs in story and things like these.

On my overflow:
25 minutes of catapult building
5 minutes of wondering what’s supposed to be going onat 30 minutes after the boat opened up and everyone left.
Exact same thing happened here. I completely missed out on the LA attack, never even knew anything was going on.

What I agree on was confusing, and could have been done better, is how both the taking of Southsun Cove and defending Lion’s Arch from the Karka again with the new alchemical weapons happend at the same time.
I had no idea there was more to do in Lion’s Arch, as I followed the zerg on my Overflow, to Southsun. The initial event chain there, sweeping across the Island was a blast, if not somewhat hard to keep up with. (Lag galore, like I haven’t seen since yesterday’s cutscene Event.)

I departed to Southshore as soon as it was available, and helped take the Island on the Overflow I was on. I had no idea there was more to do in LA, so thanks very much for this summary!

It’s not in my inventory. I do have an ‘Alchemical Potion’, however… Is this the completed item? If so, how on earth do I have it, if I never reached the Hylek? I can’t give it to Levvi in Lion’s Arch either.
For the toast!
My Necromancer is in the same boat. I had just gathered the proper mixture, and was on the way back to turn it in, when I entered death shroud.
Kit disappeared, can’t get a new one… How on earth do I continue?
For the toast!
The crashing started with yesterday’s patch for me. I crashed twice during the Karka attack on LA, alone. I played on and off yesterday, and crashed six times total. Crash to desktop, error report asking to send to Anet. I was asked to reverify my game files three times as well.
I’ve never had stability issues with GW2 in the past. I’ve had a grand total of two crash to desktops, playing since release. Then yesterday’s patch hits and I crash half a dozen times in one day… Something is definitely not right.
I have yet to play with the new patch as of this morning, but I hear even more people are crashing, fantastic…

Yeah…. He was spamming this non stop during the event even.
It was quite annoying seeing the spam in chat.

I can second this. I was looking for new sigils yesterday, but all that came up for weapon upgrades were jeweler made upgrade components.
Currently no way to search for the weapons upgrades category specifically.

Not really a work around, but if you wanna keep a name on an amphibious type pet when storing, name them, and make sure they’re in one of your two underwater pet slots. They’ll keep the name even if they’re not your active land pet, so long as they’re in an underwater slot.
I assume it works the other way around too, but I haven’t tried.
For the toast!
Disappeared, or were never there to begin with? As stated previously, elementalist and engineers don’t get a weapon swap.
Elementalist with a weapon swap would be a tad silly.

I kept hearing about how popular Dinky was in map chat, and I wasn’t honestly sure if people were exaggerating or not.
My next charr is definitely going to have Dinky as a sparring partner. I’ve so far chosen Reeva and Euryale. I <3 Reeva, but as others have stated… Euryale’s just not anywhere near as funny as she tries to be. I liked her personality description, but I hardly feel it matches up to how she really acts, anyway. She’s also incredibly squishy in combat, having a penchant for getting up close and personal as a dagger ele.
As for Reeva, I very much agree with Zaxares – She gets quite excited for your character, and is a very strong supporting personality. She’s kind of the kitten funny, but not quite to the extent of Dinky, from what I hear.

There’s also a point at which you can actually begin the process of falling, but still jump. It’s a point at which you must learn well if you want to make every jump without swiftness because it essentially allows you to jump after the platform you’re on.
I’ve definitely noticed this on my Charr characters too – it’s something I’m quite accustomed to. I think it’s easier to notice on Charr, at least, if not unique.
I used this very much to my advantage in some puzzles. The funny thing is, the game definitely registers you as falling a little bit, before jumping. I got sucked into the goo in Mad Clock Tower more than once, while in midair in mid jump, because I had begun the process of falling and then jumped.

This is actually the first time I’ve noticed my nicknames being wiped after an update.
I set a few well over a month ago, and they remained until yesterday’s update.

Why is your character suddenly promoted from Legionnaire to Centurion?
in Charr
Posted by: Halcyon.7352
I recall this being explained in my blood legion story, but not iron legion. I don’t remember how it was explained, but I think it was at least mentioned.
Pretty much this. In the Blood Legion story, you assume direct command of your warband, after dealing with your previous leader.
I found it quite strange when my Iron Legion engineer was being called Legionnaire too.
Yay personal story continuity oversights.

I actually find jump puzzles and such far harder from an Asuran point of view. I guess we get used to things a certain way.
I managed Mad Clock Tower for example, before my friends… interestingly enough, the two to finish last were Asura.
I only have issues in cramped quarters, that zoom the camera in a lot.
For the toast!
It’s strange, on Tarnished Coast at least, I find the incidence of male to female charr to be about the same. I have one of each gender, with a strong urge to create a second female thief…

I said the fix should be in the next content update, I thought it was the 5th but as soon as I found out that it wasn’t, I changed the post. That was my mistake. We’ve tried to be open and honest, but I’m still seeing erroneus information and dates being spread around, which is why the original thread was closed.
Thank you for that bit of very much needed explanation.

“We don’t want to disrupt players by deploying an emergency fix.”
#in the middle of a dungeon# – your game will be restarted in 2 minutes
#looks at patch notes# – fixed dye drop ratekitten
I quit.
Pretty much this.
I can’t help but feel insulted, as a loyal customer.

I had the same thing, except on a non permanent object.
I find it more amusing than an actual issue, but I thought I’d put up my screenie anyway.

If you have 50% fall damage trait you can safely fall near right wall (you’ll land on one of stalagmites midway, then continue to fall after you fully healed). If you dont – good luck trying.
This is the surefire method I’ve been using. You don’t actually need the trait if you land on the first one first, and move onto the second stalagmite, before free falling. (The second one can be hard to land on)
But yes, annoying bug.

I’ve noticed problems with the water buckets as well, as of late.
I never had issues when I first started playing, but I noticed this bug while trying to water the cows in a Diessa Plateau task recently. (Charradis Estates) I was able to clean only one of the two ‘stinky’ cows, you’re supposed to water bucket. Try as I might I was unable to actually clean the other one. I shrugged it off and finished the task via other methods.
I noticed it again while in Kessex Hills, at the Sylvari task in the south, where you must cleanse poisoned Sylvari and fight off the undead. (Shadowheart I believe) I was unable to water bucket some of the NPC’s – I’d done this task on another character previously and had no issues at all.
Seems like it’s an issue that’s developed recently.

Adding my name to this list. Excited to make a Priory aligned character, only two meet not one, but two gamebreaking, progress halting bugs in a row.
In the story quest prior to the Hatchery, engineers players cannot progress if they choose to retrieve the Dwarven Scabbard, without a convoluted work around involving dropping the Scabbard ‘kit’ near water, and walking onto land to retrieve it.
After many frustrated attempts at getting around that quest, I get to the Hatchery, and it’s completely broken, with no apparent work-around. Been about two weeks for me now, but I hear it’s been broken since early September possibly?
Hoping the fix is with tonight’s updates.
