speaking of nerf, was illusion skills ever require 3/4-1 sec cast time?
has the mesmer’s clone have more health in the the beginning?
has the phantasm skill do more damage in the beginning?
because i ran phantasm build and i found that phantasm do sub par damage and took too long to cast while other class have near to instance activation timeNever played beta, but in some preview vids the were summoned faster, nearly instant. But also 2 at once, so I think it’s just for demo. There’s also a demo vid where the GS aa and chaos storm dealt damage ~loel~
Phantasm and clone hp has been increased in a patch long time ago, just for pve. But they (maybe bugged again) ninjanerfed the HP a few patches ago into the ground, now they are terrible weak again …
I guess they increased the utility phants cast time once, but I’m not sure though.

ps illusionary wave have the base cooldown of 25s!
this kind of make sense and make the class useful and not slow but dev design to nerf the hell out by adding 3/4-1 1/2 sec of activation time to all clone and phantasm, making mesmer an easy target while all other class have burst skills with zero activation time!
lastly, about mesmer’s counter skill on both scepter and blade, having 1/2 and 3/4 activation time after a counter (which other class doesn’t have) is screaming for “even thou i have blocked an attack i still like to get hit plz” is kinda pointless for a blocking skill there
the video really show that the mesmer have alot of potential, even cry of frustration can stack confusion on the opponent make a damage of 400 per skill use! diversion is aoe! now event the pve mob can use confusion better than a mesmer, every class have better interruption, even necro
kitten it, i am still mad at the nerf on temporal curtain, a few last skill that was useful for a mesmer
is this another nerf to shattered concentration, since i read that the stability will grant a set amount during it’s interval time ?
Wow, it’s getting kind of heated in here but one thing I can confirm:
Mesmer’s clone will still be missing off hand! mark my words!
and Phantasm Warlock will still be holding scepter instead of staff, still!
serious answer for warrior:
they have the best traits, try to play it in pvp and you will see
they heal a lot, bring a lot of boons, have a lot of interrupt, highest hp and armor before adding in traits and trinket
serous answer for mesmer:
their traits suck as in really suck, low to very low damage even on condition build, even if you use the “famous” PU build you still take too long to kill someone and that is before the nerf not counting on that other classes will bring condition remover.
their utilities suck for example: mantra: require 2 3/4 recharge every 2-3 use AND they have cooldown, utilities phantasm that require target, can be blind and require 1 1/2 activation time.
you are pretty much need to go glass cannon to do any significant of damage.
no real burst like other class, not counting shatter but that still require three illusion which are easily destroy.
thief food/buff, want to see the skill “save yourself” on thief? have a thief steal from mesmer
portal? wurm necro does it better
if you want a helpful team fight it is better to bring staff ele or power necro

I, for once, support of this
BUT
hear me out, how about moving this minor trait to the minor grandmaster trait, clearly this trait deserve the same RESPECT as Disruptor’s Sustainment, imagine the possibility we can do!
remember they move Illusionists Celerity from minor trait to grandmaster, then move it again to master? surely such a broken trait as Vengeful Images deserve it’s grandmaster rank!

PvP: all the rank point, reward chest and player point from your team are transfer to you at the end of the match
my launcher was at 99% last night and i left it on then this morning it went back to 0% again
right now i leave my launcher on and it stuck at 0% but the download is over 4gb, how big is the patch anyway?

I think it is time we have another kind of this thread to make mesmer quality of life better and more of a choice in pvp. Hopefully the dev will take a look at this thread and implement them.
1. Reduce all phantasm activation time to 3/4, including the phantasmal defender/disenchanter (1 and 1/2 sec activation time, abysmal).
ps two handed weapon skills have the activation time of 3/4, don’t know why other one have longer activation time
2. Make all clone skill activation time instantaneous, all clone skill have nearly instantaneous activation time except illusionary leap and by the time you finish activate it, you’ve already reach the target, if it wasn’t because of the immobile it would become useless.
3. Change Wastrel’s Punishment trait to something more useful, by the love of god, this trait is useless!
4. Remove the animation after Illusionary Riposte block, the skill it self is nice, the damage is nice, the extra clone is nice but why do i have to stand still to receive another attack, kinda miss the point of blocking there.
5. Reduce the recharge time of all mantra to 1 and 3/4 sec, in pvp, 2 and 3/4 sec is too long, especially in pvp
So the mesmer clone off hand weapon is missing again, i tested it with sword/sword, not sure if the other weapons have the same problem or not
Winds of Chaos – increase the projectile speed
Temporal Curtain – make it stackable with other swiftness
Arcane Thievery – decrease cool down and increase range
Mimic – decrease cool down a lot to make it use able
and lastly, which should have been fix a long time ago, weapon CD trait and Illusionists Celerity, when they are stack they should show the proper cooldown

From this point on i would recommend every mesmer never to post their good build on this forum ever again. for simple reasons: when it become main stream every one want to nerf it, especially mesmer forum, even thou it feel exactly like fighting with a stealth blind thief, tanky staff ele, worst yet it’s not even effective on holding points or wvw.
And lastly Anet not only going to nerf this build but they also nerf every build just because of PU build

Triumphant Distortion – previously granted distortion to mesmer when you have obtained a kill. In addition to this effect, you will also receive 1s of distortion on all of your phantasms that are summoned.
So…. how exactly is this a change? doesn’t illusion and phantasm die when the target dies too? A joke from Anet? So we can see phantasm with distortion dies?
since we are on the topic of mesmer skill nerf, i have some few question cuz i just start playing gw2 a year after it release.
1. have the phantasm skills cast time always been more than 3/4 sec? i find it quite handicap for us mesmer since they are: 1 effect by line of sight and, 2 blind, especially the phantasm utility skills (1 1/2 sec), it is not a fire and forget skill like necro’s minion, you have to recast every time for each enemies.
2. illusionary leap, so we have a cast time plus we have to wait for the clone to reach the target PLUS IT IS BUGED then we can swap, in my opinion, this skill should not have any cast time, every other leap skills have no cast time, i notice that Phase Retreat have no cast time, did anet add in the cast time or it is always like this?
btw, when can we expect the next skill update patch?

actually i am kinda agree to remove illusionary wave because this skill is extremely buggy and half the time it doesn’t work and add in something we can use properly
This is just my suggestion but could we remove one of the passive of this signet and reduce the cool down to 25 seconds?
When we have the healing passive on this signet it makes the players unlikely to use the signet because we want to keep the passive on but with the active that recharge all the phantasm skill it kinda mess things up and result in 35 seconds cool down.
Now, by having one of the passive and reduce the cool down to 25 seconds would make it more usable and reliable.
a nice buff to the mantra but they are still horrible, every one know, even Anet know that the recharge casting time for the mantra take too long, way to long, reduce their cast time to 1 and a half second would be a better buff
minor Domination Traits should be change, all of them
-Illusion of Vulnerability and Dazzling look good on paper but does not work, minor traits should not force the player to play as an interrupter, move them to major and buff them like Halting Strike, this way we can have option to choose as an interrupter or not.
-Wastrel’s Punishment, might as well as non-existing, sure inactive foes do exist but they do when they died

minor Chaos trait
-Chaotic Transference, fine in pve because we can stack toughness, in pvp? max condition damage we can have is 82
major Chaos trait
-Chaotic Interruption < Bountiful Interruption, for a major grandmaster traits it need some serious buff
minor Inspiration trait
-Vengeful Images, reverse it back
Mantra mechanice need some rework to make it more useful
By itself this skill deal little to no damage and it only give only one confusion of 3 seconds per clone, with 30 seconds cooldown.
Basically this skill is underwhelming in PVE and PVP due to the monsters atttack very slow, during these 3 seconds the enemies might attack once or if you get lucky: twice, what I would suggest is that add in bleeding condition or increase the duration of the confusion which would make it worthwhile for using it.
Better yet instead of bleeding add in torment instead, now that would be the real cry of fustration
tl;dr cry of frustration is underwhelming, increase the duration or add in bleeding/torment
