I wonder what the reaction of players would be if one of the gifts required for legendaries could only be acquired through serious PvP play :P
Each account already has achievements associated with storyline. Would it be out of the question to program a check for particular achievements before a dialog is initiated to determine which branch of dialog is displayed. This of course only implemented on text-based dialog (and most likely only on important NPCs that would be pertinent to the information being discussed) and not voiced “cutscene” dialog.
To simply check for given storyline based achievements, you could easily determine which branch of dialog to present, and it would seem seamless to the player.
It might make just enough difference to maintain the “immersive” feel without really adding an exorbitant amount of coding.
Those achievements are generic, you get them no matter what route you take. Plus they are account bound and players with characters from all races most likely have more than one of those.
Just and idea: we could have race/profession related choices marked with the race/profession icon instead of the x/tick/arrow. Easier to notice, people would collect these for the wiki/reddit so we wouldn’t miss it.
What do you think?
What about the http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Dragon_Emblem_Shirt & http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Celebration_Hat
What a waste
You tell, me. I’m so much going to lose this look It’s like the Boss GW2 fan outfit.
I accidentally transmuted away my gas mask skin a while ago, but i have the achievement. Will the new system detect my achievements and unlock it in the wardrobe?
We don’t know. If you still have the item that has the mask under it, you will unlock it. If you deleted/salvaged… well unlucky you.
Point three didn’t make the cut, and four refused to take its place. :P
Perfect time to reuse the gif I created earlier to express one of my character’s thoughts about the removal of mixability of town clothes.
Here it is.
(edited by Howell Qagan.9752)
My suggestion:
1. Turn the costumes and town clothes in to armor skins, all of them, even the retired and limited edition ones like the bunny ears and hoodies.
2. Take the skill-sets associated with those skins (wintersday, mad king, etc…) and turn them in to the new type of toys that activate from your inventory.
4. Add a second armor set players can switch to out of combat.
You now have all the functionality that is being added with the wardrobe without removing any functionality of the previous system.
I’m curious what’s 3? Is it a secret? :O
I actually kind of agree. Stick it in the home instance, in my new house…. That I get to have now please.
DR overflows on most servers… :P (seeing how many characters are human)
Question, what about pvp exclusive gear such as the masquarade set, etc? Are pvp gears included in the Wardrobe system? Also, now that glory is removed and such, how can players who haven’t ranked up enough able to obtain said gear? Will it be obtainable in pve?
Wrong thread. And yes, it was in the Wardrobe FAQ but got removed, because it was meant to be kept a surprise for this Friday’s Ready Up! Ooops! We will unlock those skins and share with PvE wardrobe
Devolution according to you. You have no information why the company took this step, what the reasons about the changes are neither any full statement that could explain the system for us. So far, the system is behind the closed doors and Anet stated they are listening to this feedback. Yet, you talk about ignorance?
Exactly, they are listening. So I don’t see why you come here telling people off for “whining”. They are expressing their concerns about the decisions made by ArenaNet or NCSoft or whoever made them. And meanwhile they hope someone reads this.
Whena person only can see their own desires as something above everything else, that’s when you become ignorant. When people aren’t educated regarding the systems of MMOs yet complain and threaten, that’s when they are ignorant. When people come with valueable statements about the game, coming from some place none, ever heared of, that’s when you see arrogance.
Ok, I swear this is my last offtopic stuff: http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/ignorance?s=t
Please read this so that you realize what this word means. It isn’t related to the verb ignore.
And also you started talking about ignorance, scroll up to see it.
Oh my, you are really good with finding typos. If you are this good, you should probably read it to understand that forcing Anet into refunds isn’t a legal option.
Otherwise, if you really think games should not eveolve because some want those old features, then you have to try checking Wiki too, you will find some informative pages about MMOs.
I didn’t see anyone saying they would force ANet to refund. It’s a request, if they didn’t refund I would have moved on, and just take a different position on supporting the gemstore. Forcing would be if we went there threatening we would destroy their office or something like that. And I’m okay with evolution but this (not being able to put together town clothes the way you want) is definitely a step backwards, not forwards. Which I would call “devolution”.
And you still didn’t answer what you meant by the word “ignorant”.
Because I know alot of ignorant people who compare making dyes account bound to the capability of paying your way to max level with full gear. GW2 community is consisted of different bases and each one are ignorant about their own.
‘’Town clothing is why I play’‘. ’’Oh no, legendary is why I play’’. ‘’No no, I play because I am waiting for Titan that will come in 20 years, kitten Anet and GW2’’.
Also, I care about this place more than uneducated people not knwing anything about the MMO industry, believing that games should never evolve becasue they are happy with the way they are.
One more thing, read the EOLA before talking about ‘’Anet must refund’’.
I really don’t want to go off-topic here but educated people know it’s an EULA and I’m actually wondering if you know what the word ‘ignorant’ means. Because it makes no sense in that context.
Some people are exaggerating to a laughable extent. Everyone can see the issue, stop using posts like omg, Anet isn’t r reading the thread or omg, Anet didn’t change it yet. Ofc they won’t change it yet and I doubt they will do before trying it in-game.
Also, according to the beautiful people here who say they are playing GW2 for town clothes, please leave, Sims is ther for you, instead of inaccurate facts about how half GW2 are playing because town clothing.
I wonder why you would be here if you don’t care
Is there any word on If LS meta skins will be added for the players who no longer have them due to various reasons?
Wrong thread, try here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Feedback-Questions-The-Wardrobe-System/
Please allow us to transmute starter’s items on whichever class we want. I am mostly referring to the Thief’s starting hood. I want that hood on my guardian
It has been stated in the FAQ that you cannot transmute items to different armor weight. End of argument. (read here: https://help.guildwars2.com/entries/46419166-Wardrobe)
Moreover, this is the thread for town clothes. I see you posted it in the approriate thread at https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Feedback-Questions-The-Wardrobe-System/page/15 so I can’t see why you would repost here.
Hollgärd expresses his emotions about the town clothing changes: http://gfycat.com/HighPerkyBoubou
Haven’t read all 14 pages… but my concern is the following. Transmutation stones will be converted into a charge by threes. Ok. But for sub lvl80 items it will take 1 charge not 1/3. Why make transmutation more expensive for alts, when their equipment is temporary?
Since many low level equipment just look terrible, this is a very unhappy change.
Exactly what i said a bit further up. Ive got a feeling I wont be using this at all.
I have just made a perfect double for Evon… and have 2 other low lvl alts. I wonder if I can get them to 80 in less than 3 weeks. Probably not :/

what about devil horns? am i the only person who has them or something?
Nah, but they said in this thread before that single piece headgear will be applied as headgear armor.
Couldn’t agree more.
EDIT : I don’t want a refund on my purchased town clothes. I want to be able to use them and mix them as i used to.
I have to say I would prefer this outcome, being able to use it the way I used it before. But if that is not possible, I won’t use it, I paid for something different, so naturally I would be wanting my gems back so I can buy something else from it that I can use what I have bought it for.
People, you all need to realize something: ANet can’t make changes fast enough to NOT do this. It’s set in stone, game over.
If the heads of NCSoft walked in and told them that if this goes live on the 15 they’re all fired, then they’d simply start packing up and refreshing their resumes so they can look for new jobs.
The only thing I can conclude is that they really don’t give a crap. They could have talked to us, and gotten tons of better ideas. They didn’t because they didn’t care. They don’t care about town clothes, and they don’t care about what any of us think about it. It’s either that, or for some reason they didn’t think we cared. I can’t believe they’re that stupid, they had to know that people bought this stuff and used it all the time. So… yeah. They don’t care, and it’s too late now.
So, anyone want to work up a form letter for demanding refunds on this stuff?
Did they get the Flamekissed hassle over immediately? No, they did not. But people asked, and people got.
My role-play characters wear town clothes in place of their armor, specifically in the case of heavy armor wearers, since they don’t have hardly any “normal citizen” looks. Not everyone wants to play a hero in a sea of heroes. Some like to play supporting characters to the heroes and villains out there – and most importantly: Look the part.
All of my role-play characters have a set of town clothes that they don’t share. Same with gem-shop armor looks, too.
The ability to get my gems back from these now wasted items better be in the update. This is the one thing that makes me mad about some MMO developers, in that they don’t fully think through the changes they make and how it affects a player who has either spent a lot of real world money, or a lot of real world time to have it just thrown away at a developer’s whim.
I need to walk away from these forums, as my anger is surging just thinking about the loss of an important aspect to how I played my characters that did involve real world money and time. Hopefully the devs will realize the error they’re making on town clothes and come up with a different solution that doesn’t alienate a part of their player-base: Namely the role-players, which they have been so good at doing since release. I know it will be the straw that breaks the camel’s back for many of us.
Walks away
I don’t think it’s RPers only. I’m not a RPer and I love my town clothes.
The endless tonic will grant the appearance of the clothing it replaced. (along with some appropriate complimentary pieces so you’re not naked). They are new tonics, not existing ones.
Only one tonic can be used at one time.
There will be no town-clothes swap any more.. so you won’t be switching to naked.
So, just so I’m understanding correctly, if I bought a hoodie, one of the shirts, and the riding pants, as I detest the defaulted town clothes for male norns, after this patch I will no longer be able to mix and match these things as I am currently doing, nor will I be able to change the dyes as I am currently.
If this isn’t correct, could we get some more clarification? (yes, I know the patch isn’t even live yet). If it is correct, I’ve spent a fair bit of money on gems that is now wasted.
That is the case. Same situation here, except for more than 1 character…

Are we going to be eligible for gem refunds? I did not buy those clothes to be restricted in how I use them.
If they work like the halo, and we can still have those pieces of clothing, I’d be happy enough. But my fear is they will be converted into the usual endless tonics: Quaggan, Halloween, Beast… which I don’t use nor plan to do.
That why I would prefer either to keep my clothes (please please please puppy eyes activated) or receive my gems (which I purchased with real money BTW) back and buy what I really want and I will use.
Also I don’t understand why outfits have to be “all or nothing”. Why can’t we separate them into different armor pieces, even if we are forced to use always that kind of pieces together, like Town Clothes forced us to do?
And what will happen with the old original town clothes? Are they going to disappear too?
I really hope if it works like that, they do refund those items’ gem value.
It looks like the hats are staying.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Fuzzy-Bear-Hats-ARE-armor-now/first#post3808857
As for all of the individual town clothes pieces (khaki pants, sweaters, hoodies), I guess those are the ones to be turned into tonics.
But I have bought the pieces to use them together. How should I use four tonics at the same time?
There is no transmutation charge to change outfits or toggle it on and off.
Transmutation charges are for applying new skins to specific armor pieces, same as now.Yes outfits are all or nothing.
Yes wearable in combat. There will be no non-combat equipment anymore, unless you count tonics.
I’m really interested in this too. I have several characters with great town cloth looks, which are put together from different pieces and I definitely don’t want to lose those looks!
I have similar concerns. Look at how awesome one of my warriors looks like in his town clothes! I don’t want to lose this look!
More pictures at http://imgur.com/a/GksDu#33 if anyone cares.
TLDR: mark commanders with a colored pillar of light above their heads
There has always been an agreement amongst most players that commanders are not visible enough in many scenarios. So during today’s guild missions I have been wondering that we have this great marker, a white pillar of light, used in the Crabtoss guild challenge and the Proxemics Lab guild puzzle (the labyrinth part). It could also depend on the color of the commander tag (in case they ever decide to make other colors available). A light blue for blue, etc. Obviously the enemy shouldn’t be able to see it so there has to be a limitation for that.
What do you think?
Players have been saying for a year now that GW had PvP right, why change it. Well there you go guys, in GW we did have unlocks, in PvP! We still don’t have to unlock gear (runes and such) like in the “prequel” so shush, ok?
Though as someone has already said, the PvP unlocks should be tied to account if we are to go back to the roots.
Also, thank you for your patience Justin.
That’s a pretty cool idea, would make the EotN a bit more useful than it is in its current state
All that these evade backwards skills really require is for the player to be aware of surroundings and their positioning, which goes hand in hand with the action-based combat of this game. I’m not sure what having it as some sort of channeled skill would bring to it, except you wasting time deciding whether or not to use it, using it, and still it won’t make a difference if you need to evade but are in the wrong position. Either you’ll evade and still have trouble, or you won’t and you’ll not dodge the hit, so there’s no perceivable benefit.
I’m not sure you understood what I meant. There is a type of skill, that makes you cast the skill, which is a skill that moves your character as long as you are holding the button down. So say a skill now evades backwards 900 units, under 1.5 seconds. If you pressed the skill once, it would only do 300 units in 0.5 second. If you pressed it for 1 second then it would do 600 units and if you pressed for the whole 1.5 seconds then it would do the 900 units. There is no need to hesitate about using, you just do it.
1. Dyeable weapons
2. Account bound Dyes.
3. Make previewing your outfit actually look the same as it is in reality (I included a pic below of what my outfit looks like in the preview, versus what it actually ends up looking like. Hint: it looks completely different)
Well that’s just the different lighting… if you find an evenly and neutral colored lit place, probably it could look the same. Not sure if a place like that exists though.
Would be definitely appreciated.
TLDR: Change rollback skills to channeled skills, so they only roll back as long as you are pressing the skill.
Currently skills that roll the character backward are kind of uncontrollable in tight spots, as they roll back a great distance. So my suggestion is that change them to the skill mechanic that does a skill as long as you are pressing the skill. It already exists, now the golem (regular golem from Mysterious Tonic, and maybe Toy Golem too) skill comes into my mind. It does this spinning with its hands and pushing everything away. The spinning has a maximum duration but will only do it as long as the skill is being channeled by having it pressed. This way it could be used in different situations, not only on big, open areas.
Doesn’t cost to try ^^
Haha, well it’s really not easy to get into the same team I think…
I wonder if having someone on block list will prevent them from getting into your partly set up team in team queue. Because for the LFG tool if you block someone they can’t see any ads that you are in. Though LFG tool is newer so probably I should stop hoping.
There isn’t a way to report someone for that and nor sure there be. It sucks I know but there are real reasons for people to go afk during events/tournaments. I believe/heard people tend report pvp afkers as scammers not bots since they are “scamming” free glory and rank points by just standing there.
In all honestly though the person in your case isn’t breaking any rules in need of reporting. He just isn’t a good team player.
Thanks for the answer! Yeah but I remember reading a post a few months ago where devs stated that PvP afkers should be reported as Botting. If he says like: “guys sorry but my dog fall off the stairs and I gotta be afk” that’s ok. But when being just bad at playing thief and dying in a 1v1 then saying “i am afk” “team too dumb”, it kind of annoys us to hell.
With evidence. I know there is an option ingame but that doesn’t even have AFK so we just reported for botting.
This guy basically said he is going afk during a tournament match because “team too dumb”. And so he did. When the other team was leading by 4 points. Wat.
So where do I send evidence? Customer Service? What reason to select? Or is there an e-mail address?
Thanks!
If this is about making it better (aka stronger?) then:
1. Ranger (needs more support, other than spirits!)
2. Engineer (tooltips! so many lying tooltips! we need consistency.)
3. Elementalist (PvP) [or Necromancer (PvE)… hard choice but I main an Ele, so I’m biased towards that]
Warrior goes on the list to be weakened. And it’s at the top there.
(edited by Howell Qagan.9752)
I’m not 100% sure this is the right place to post this but it’s somewhat related to armor/character art:
If Engineers have a kit equipped, and use any skill that requires character animation (Rocket Boots, Elixir Toss skills etc) it makes the back item reappear under the kit visual and they clip in each other.

I’ve seen people report the Black Citadel issue. I have not encountered that one, however terrain disappears when leaving the Trading Post building in the Black Citadel. I don’t have a screenshot but you can’t miss it. Just look ahead when exiting the building.
I have bought quite a number of town clothes to this day but I just realized that for human male characters the best looking shoes are the basic ones. So now I regret deleting them. Would it be possible to buy them back for a small fee from an NPC in towns? Even the gemstore lacks shoes like the basic ones (and it never had any like that).
not true, they CAN and have fixed account boun d items before to make them tradeable, do you recall the hybrid mini from the nightmare tower?…yeah. they CAN do it.
I haven’t said they can’t, I said that they said that they won’t. Can’t ? won’t.
It’s just so dumb that they do this. I’ll never understand why they make it like this. My endless mystery tonics will continue collecting dust because why the heck would I use that crap?
Hey, don’t diss it! I would love a beast or forest one of those but I have never gotten any. Ofc my guildies who don’t even appreciate tonics get them…
(edited by Howell Qagan.9752)
They said they are not going to make pre-patch Jade skins tradeable either so I think this applies to this case too.
After opening the window and interacting with anything (i.e. clicking on anything that makes a change – except the left side tabs) the window becomes unresponsive to the assigned keybind and thus cannot be closed.
EDIT: NO KEYBIND IS WORKING WHEN HAVING INTERACTED WITH THE WINDOW.
