The only bit that may be a struggle should be Stonemist Castle. I dont generally like pvp but enjoyed wvw and found it to be great introduction and actually got me playing the game with others, I have even started doing a bit of sPvP to work on my 1v1 skills and like it more than i thought I would.
Just keep an eye on the maps and get the points when you can, most importantly enjoy yourself (joining the zerg is fun if you dont like pvp).
Its just a great pun, the ’mole’ten alliance, only reason I can see for it being the dredge. I do like the dredge but I don’t think they fit this story that well and it seems a bit villain races put in a hat and pull two out.
Yes please! I don’t even look at the news feed on the current launcher, old one was much better.
From the last update notes:
“A new test version of our advanced event scaling algorithm has been applied to four high-level, regularly played events to help us monitor the feasibility of this system in the live environment. This new scaling algorithm dynamically increases the difficulty of events by using the current system of increasing the difficulty of existing creatures, while also adding a new system that substitutes creatures of lower difficulty with different creatures as the event scales up. If successful, this system will be slowly extended to other events across the game during 2013.”
Anyway I am looking forward to it being applied to low level events as they are quite boring as it stands. As long as it doesn’t affect the rewards for lower level players not doing as much damage.
I would rather be able to select light, medium or heavy than the individual pieces as it is now. Generally I go and buy a set so I never use the current subcategories.
While the transmute thing is an option, it feels like a temporary fix at best. The suggested npc should be in game. I personally don’t want to have to delete a character in order to re-obtain a starter item. +1 to the OP from me.
Yep, and there is already 3 ‘factions’ to pledge allegiance to if they want it even more like the GW1 alliance.
Theres one in the North East of Diessa Plateau. It takes you into the Temple of Rhand (a bit west of the portal) where there are some puzzles and a champion, needs a few people but its not instanced so theres probably people in the map.
Sounds comlpicated, not just from a player perspective but I think I understand.
Basicly you would collect:
1 gift for hilt/weapon skin
1 gift for the blade skin
1 gift for the visual effects/footprints etc
precursor for weapon type
As I dont really like any legendary at the moment, (I main an ele and now i can preview bifrost and incinerator I really dont want them) I would be tempted if it was unique like this.
I thought the same for my mesmer, would go for it if the purple turned black. I would wield the legendary black paintbrush with pride!
I’ve had 2 from every event rare I’ve salvaged, don’t know if using Black Lion Salvage kits increases this chance though as that’s what I use while I have them.
Also new ascended gear from the laurel guys need them. I don’t see the price changing for quite some time.
Id quite like to be able to replay missions too, go to home instance find a diary on a desk or a bard who tells tales and ‘re-live’ the experience. No reward just for the fun of it.
Did p1 other night, found it to be mostly easier only real problem was I got lag and gravelings not loading. Never had lag in a dungeon before and the not loading issue has only happened in WvW.
And the Troll hits too hard for Story Mode, was doing it with a party of 35-50 and he instantly downs at least 3 of us, was doing 3-3.5k damage with one attack.
Was a mixed group of lvl50 – 80. It felt like doing the dungeon for the first time rather than being with a group that runs past everything. Overall I’d say its a like a new challenge and worth doing again.
Admittedly lvl35 will struggle but thats partly to not having access to all the skills yet.
This issue needs fixing really interrupts the flow of play and is a major pain. Especially in a game where constant movement is required to be any good.
Based on Gunnars Hold we are (currently) small but friendly guild looking for fans of rock and metal to join our ranks. Mostly PvE players but many want to explore all aspects of the game and I personally really like WvW. Will take members from any EU server for PvE or if you just want to chat about music with people you have more in common with than just the game.
Still not tempted?
Here’s a video to help you decide

To be honest Ele’s and Engies have less of a problem here than any other profession as they have less weapons to choose from and switch between. Warriors have to carry 12 weapons for every skill combination, engineers 4 and elementalists 5.
And to clarify im not a warrior complaining as my main is an ele and second is an engi – no warr yet.
Yes please! I think i’ve only got 4 maps left but will see when I have done them as I’m not very systematic.
+1 from me, as long as it is in addition to the current armors.
An expensive rare skin, bought from your profession trainer would work.
The only thing I can think of is Definsive ones should work for AR infusion in fractals, but yes they do need some good offensive and defensive infusions and I wouldnt be surprised if ANet are working on them, Increases on specific boon or condition durations/damage would make half decent infusions.
Reminds me of the undead kitten Clerics in GW1, had the full name on the health bar but censored it if you called the target. Anyway yes we need more report options.
EDIT Really Anet? its a word thats not only a mob name in gw1 but an exotic axe in in this game also i can’t link the axe because you censor it, but Rangers can name their pets whatever they want?

Its called Drakkar (Drakkars Lake) and has been stated as a champion of jormag.
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Drakkar
Will probably/hopefully fight it as part of Flame and Frost when that is released. :P
couple of questions:
Has this weapon dropped at all/does anyone have it?
Would a typo on the loot table stop it from dropping? It took ages to change the name of the glacial lodestones and that typo was visible to the players – if its a spelling we cant see we can’t point it out.
I always saw the cloak, now ALL i can see is the duck thanks for that.
Good job! Plus great music!
I dont really PvP but like this idea, armour shown on select screen should be what was last visible on your character so if you log out in the mists that is what it shows.
I want a hood too preferably with little ears on the top!
Bit like this http://adventuretime.wikia.com/wiki/Finn
For some reason I dont want any that can be conjured, not that anyone uses them anyway I just dont think we should get them as a weapon option as well. Pistol would be cool tho, and torch but only if the effect of the flame changed with attunement.
In fact, (and I’ve seen this happen) dungeon groups may kick you out because you’re constantly dying they can clearly tell that you don’t know what you’re doing.
Also was tempted to do this to a staff ele, never switching from fire and going into mele range – idiot
You gave the right answer, I’d take your lvl 46 over his lvl 80 any day.
My thoughts exactly.
I like to carry all weapon combos too, its not that much bag space for an ele. Uses 4 slots max, then I can change what I’m doing to best help the party need support/large AoE – staff. Need a tank I have a focus + amour of earth + arcane aura + mist form I will give it a go.
Yep totally agree about Zhaitan, I felt the dungeon as a whole was ok, I wasnt even sure my cannon was hitting him so i left it to fight the trash mobs.
It could be either Primordus (flame) or Jormag (frost) judging from the new content, but my moneys on Jormag with all the refugees I just get that feeling.
I think all titles are account wide. so you can max a different craft on different chars to get the title as well.
I’ve never had any, other than those purchased with gems since release.
I would hope for new ones with expansions, certainly vastly different ones from what there is as not everyone is going to like the existing designs or effects. I play an ele and dont like the scepter or focus at all, the staffs ok but not great only the daggers tempting but not enough to put that much effort into it.
Im with GummiBear on this, I dont think it will affect me, a very casual player. 2 months tops for my 1st ascended amulet, another 4 months tops for 2 rings aswell if i decide to go for it.
I estimate i will manage 2-3 dailys a week less once I have my amulet, unless leveling an alt. It doesnt matter how long it takes to get the gear, the games not going anywhere, just take it easy and enjoy what time you do have to play.
You must’ve imagined that. They always reset every day, I don’t know what time though. You don’t miss out on much with one day anyway, 1 laurel and 1 mystic coin are the main bits. Only 5 dailys look to be needed for the monthly.
You are not a special case real life is more important, you don’t NEED to play every day (I was only few dodges off finishing but didn’t have time, that’s life).
Thanks guys, well I suppose I can take consolation in not being the only one. I probably only just noticed it because I only recently got the sigil. On the plus side I do sometimes get the ice blast when the weapon runs out and at the start/end of Ride the Lightning.
I am having an issue, since the update (28th of jan) this skill doesn’t always work. It casts and one appears on the floor but I don’t get one in my hands.
It appears to be conflicting with the sigil on my weapon that that triggers with weapon swap.
I have sigil of energy on my main hand and sigil of hydromancy offhand, and the freeze effect triggers when i cast the greatsword.
What’s the point in getting a weapon skin you like especially one that costs 60g+ if ANet just decide to change it on a whim? I know a lot of people wouldnt have bothered with this weapon if they had known it would like this.
Aether is also large for a shortbow, will they just change that skin as well because it looks the same as the longbow?
Trust in company is diminishing with pointless changes like this when there are bigger problems with the game that need sorting 1st.
Anyway
Slightly smaller version of long bow skin please!
There are ascended back peices that are quivers example http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Quiver_of_Swift_Flight
You just have to put a bit of effort into getting them.
Admittedly it would be nice to buy simple ones from early on, either from karma vendor or merchant.
Crafting has nothing to do with race, I don’t quite understand what the OP means. If you make a new char crafting starts at 0 and if you want to change them you can any time.
If its legendary weapon you are worried about, make it with this char as they are soulbound on use not acquire as far as I know
The reward in the main chest could be based on how will the dungeons are explored.
I like this idea
After reading this I can picture dungeons being these areas where mobs and bosses randomly spawn and each time you kill one and another one spawns, it can grow in strenght untill your party wipes. Similar to FoTM, but without having 3 10-20 min map rotation.
Sounds a bit like a Colosseum type game many RPG’s seem to have but would be a good inclusion to the game, certainly a good way of learning how to coordinate with your team and develop tactics.
The area each server starts in is random, so check back next week you will likley be near the points you need. Also you should be against different servers.
I think what they meant by explorable is that after the story part is done, you go back to explore what has become of the place.
But i do like your idea regardless =)
I get that, I just felt the name was rather misleading don’t know what else they could have called it though.
And thanks
Indeed, to me dungeons should be huge, maze like places, with many things inside and many paths ^^
Hey when you play a paper game dungeon and dragon in a dungeon, the game master does not tell you “the visible exit is : forth or back”
Indeed D&D is a good example of what I was thinking.
Another thought was if bosses spawn in set areas they could also be random, like some zones in GW1 had 6 bosses that changed positions between them. This along with events would hopefully prevent farming one run to a specific boss.
I have to say I’m quite disappointed with explorable dungeons. Not because I dont enjoy them, but because I find the name really misleading. There is no exploration, you follow set path that many skip as much as possible anyway, if anything it should be called hard story mode.
Any way that’s not the suggestion I wanted to make, I would like to suggest genuinely explorable dungeons (I did touch upon this in the thread about FoW & UW). Where you go in, all paths are open, no story but a random selection of events occur in various locations and you have to find the bosses to fight (chests + some tokens).
Any thoughts?
I was going to make a new thread, but what you suggest kind of fits perfectly with what I want to say and that’s genuinely explorable dungeons. Currently ‘explorable’ means no exploring but following a linear path. I wanted to go explore and find bosses and events in the dungeons, FOW and Underworld would work so well for this, they are/were big zones with lots of areas for tasks and events.
I did love GW1 but the balancing in it was horrible and made worse by expansions. ANet clearly (to me at least) took the limited skill route to easily accommodate future expansions, new classes and races without them being game breaking. The release of Factions and Nightfall made for some ridiculously OP’d builds that you couldnt get into a party unless you were using one.
I do have to admit though it was a lot of fun playing with different skill combos and unusual secondary professions and I do miss it, but if I missed it that much I can always go play GW1.
Also GW1 was very grind heavy especially in EotN, You had to Vanquish some zones a lot of times to max the title and even if you just wanted an armour skin you still had to go out in the relevant zones and grind for the points so you could even speak to the merchant, this I do not miss and was all I had left in GW1.
