This is one of my grips on gw 2 since day one …
People say its adds more layers of tatical gameplay but lets be honest its just add more layers to the “lets play drunk or stoned gameplay and win doing it” combine this with the lack of multiple skills you got some nice artificial skill roof.
And lets not get on spvp and instant ress skills.
But what i know its a beloved core mecanic by the devs,no way in hell its going away even with a major outcry from the comunity.
The solution i found nowdays is to go to wvw naked with a full party and gank on some poor lonely fellow,who downed you 5 times before going down then dance on his corpse to show how casual hardcore you are.

Its fun the first 6 or 10 times but the total lack of challenge is a deal breaker for me.
Honestly they could use some kind of buff or at least some sort of player scaling…
just my 2 cents but i dont think they gonna change then in the near future they fit nicely in the “casual valley thrill aventure” and Anet like it that way.

The Re… i mean the cast time is too damm high.

Joke aside norn can get stealth as ele in leopard form and stealth is one of the little things a ele cant get without this.

I absolutely LOVE these jumping puzzles keep then coming.
I not the regular MMO player i only played 3 in my life and never played wow,but i played hundreds of platformers from marios to prince of persia and to found this on MMO is really amazing and the best part of it is the community aspect of then.

God I really hate those runes with my thief took while to figure whats hell is hiting me for 6k but now i using it with my mesmer and loving it.
and each day i seeing more people with it.
1-On top of a montain chain with rocky paths,caves and huge bridges connecting keeps and towers,in this map you cant see the ground(just place a fog effect) and if you fall you die.
2-A plane with the 4 elements with earth,fire,water and air sub regions,thematic keeps and a LOT of environmental traps(earhquakes,fire fissures,blizzards) placed randomly by the map.
3-Big city like divine reach with people fighting for sections of the city.
Like many i know gw 2 is not the super hardcore L33t skill game but rigth now the downed is a badly implemented skill cap,we all like the thrill to finish the kill or rally yourselfs but in the end its just favor the numbers and make any kamikaze tatic invalid because dont matter if you downed 10 player the time you die… Ta-da they rise again.
I agree with the OP,
2 changes would address most issues I have with the downed-state.
1. Direct Damage should interrupt the revive process from downed-state. This would allow anyone to interrupt a revive, not just those with a knock-back, stun or daze currently at hand. Considering how quickly you can revive, this is really a necessary change.
2. Resurrections (aka. reviving dead players) should only be possible out of combat. This makes it possible to actually destroy zergs rather than battles continuing ad nauseum.
This are good sugestions and a good start.
The only issue i have farming with my mesmer is some of the DEs in orr and the AOE spam extravaganza that follows BUT only in high population servers in low pop server you can do “fine” using Ibeserker or blurred frenzy and this only applys to the most crowded DEs.
And bosses hit hard if you got the agro just go into survival mode(aka run) and pop defensive skills and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y9VWofx5XG8
Capping points while is stealth is a broken mecanic period.
I say that from experience,theres almost nothing you can do to stop it unless you got a good number of people with good team work and dont tell me to stack up and aoe spam because all i need to do is change to S/P and use heartseeker+powder instead of CnD.
You can maintain stealth without moving too using powder+cluster bomb if you are outside combat and abuse some camp spots…
And in case you do some mistakes (hiting someone on HS or missing CnD) you got so many safety nets(blinding powder,shadown refuge,steal,shadowstep) that make almost impossible to get killed.
I can content points for a minimum of 30 minutes and my ping is 120 and i just a mediocre player a good NA player with 25-40 ping probably can do this forever.
You forgot remove the downed/ress feature

probably trasfering tonigth … IGN Hynoris would love a invite too.
I honestly see no problem taking out the orange swords.
But my real grip with wvw is the downed state the true fuel that makes zergs in wvwvw more threatening than they should be…
Just nerf it or just remove it from wvw (my golden dream)
…the elementalist npc you can spar in the mists:
-she can use heavy armor
-A full glass cannon backstab “only” hit her for 5k
-She dish 1500 per hit with cone of cold or vapor blade.
Anyone know what build she uses?
funny enough the npc elementalist probably can take out 2-3 mesmers npcs at the same time

The proc from the 6 mad king runes (the ravens) they worth or its meh damage?
Gotta agree 100% with this the clock tower is one of the most fun and unique experiences i have in mmorpg.
we really need more of this,some people just gotta learn to control their OCD with achievements some content is not for everyone(like i never gonna get my legendary)
This is the sad truth,my mains are ele and mesmer and honestly i prefer the ele but…
With my mesmer in wvw when i see a ele alone i seeing a dolyak with less hp instead.
I just can’t imagine a PRO mesmer loosing to a elementalist on 1×1 i would love to be proven wrong.
Moa your enemies,see then downed before you and hear the lamentations on the forums.
That is the best in life…as a mesmer.

Further update:
Figured out what is causing the bug. I had changed the “your phantasms have fury” trait to the one that increases range on manipulation skills. When I changed back the iBerserker reverted to its old workings. That is definately a bug
Yep got this same issue two days ago and can confirm this if you swap the phant fury trait the iberserker becomes the iderper and takes 1,5 seconds before he lauch his first attack.
I use sword+focus (with accuracy) you get 2 stacks per kill…
Then just agro 5 wolves take some of their health make then call budies so now its 10 wolves Iberserker+blurred frenzy and Voilà 20 stacks in 30 seconds.

I think clones created in other forms/bundles are set to cause full damage because the battle suit from the “air drop” mission give full damage clones too,its funny to see the triple shoop da whoop…and its probably a bug.

and ele is not completely broken as people like to say but between a kitten downed state and lackluster elite skills we sure got some issues and Oghier is rigth try other class,ele feels like some kind of handicap mode compared to most of then…

And they are plant people for Balthazar sake they dont even ‘do it’ they just sprout out of the pale tree unless some lore fanatic prove me wrong…but i think that doing a spinach salad is the closest you can get.

Just dont take the druid summon,dont worth the 30 points not even on a elementalist with crappy elites even the fern hound is better.
Tornado:bulleye target+easily kitable mode.
elemental:The only good elite but suffer from the pet AI could use a little more health.
fiery sword:Flashy…thats about it.
Outside pve i easily trade my elite slot for another utility slot and i not the only one who think like that.
