I just wanna point out that the game sold more than 3 mill units. Thinking that you or any of your friends invented any of the meta builds is just funny. I know plenty of people who used BM bunker builds shortly after launch with great success but never bothered to post them or record their play. All builds have already been created. You are not the inventor simply because you bother to stream/post it.
Also, restricting is bad. It removes a lot of teambuild possibilities. Anet wants to give every class more options in the end. Eventually, hammer wars might be as viable as GS wars. The same for the longbow wars. When that’s the case, people can run 2 wars but have different builds you know. Just because the game is not balanced enough yet, doesn’t mean that there should be a restriction. If anything, we can see what needs balancing a lot better right now so it should defy stay this way. Good way to see what needs tweaking, plus it allows more creativity at the same time.

That golem rush must have scared ya! Too bad we kinda failed at the end. Anyways, Gandara is never strong in the weekend. You guys have a 30k lead this time so it will be hard.
That said, i don’t really wish to go up a tier. Baruch Bay, Riverside, Augury Rock are all serves that play very defensively or outman ya in the morning/night (ANTI PVP) which is less enjoyable for me personally. T4/5 is probably more fun in general.
I enjoy fighting and if i lose a matchup, but had great fights, i’m fine with that. The servers i just mentioned want to win so badly that they just hide behind siege and only come out when the point tick is almost there.
Also, a lot of your zergs run away.. Like, really? Not all of em tho! You guys have some skilled individuals and tactics etc. Farming you guys at our borderlands in the south was the only way to get some fights going today.

The only thing i hate is when they swap you to the losing team even tho you were the player on the team with the most points and captures. It’s like, hey.. You are too good, join the bad team so they have a chance. Unfortunately, it results in losing with the new team anyways, adding another loss to your statistics. It’s so weird. They should always swap the worst scoring players to the other team imo. Otherwise you earn loads of points for the team that you might end up facing in the second half of the match. Just stupid.

I doubt more underwater areas will help to be honest. I dislike underwater combat and most people in my guild as well. Nobody enjoys doing the Quaggan waternode events or the new “Aquatic Slayer” daily. Anet made a good underwater system in GW2 but they shouldn’t focus too much on it because most people simply don’t like it. Forcing it upon them isn’t going to make it any better (imo).

So, there are currently a few things that seem to bother a lot of WvW players. Culling is one of them but we know that Arenanet is working very hard on that. I personally hate the fact that allies dissapear now but hopefully it will all be better with time. The fix i have in mind, might reduce the amount of culling, simply by reducing situations in which it can occur. But the fix focuses more on other things. Here are the problems that can be countered with the suggestion:
- Less zerging
- Less situations in which culling and lag issues are happening
- Less queue times
So i’m probably not the only one who has thought about this idea but it’s truly the easyest solution.
- 1 extra map!
I know it’s nothing revolutionary but here is my reasoning:
- Having one extra map like EB (but differently designed please!) will divide the players more. This means that the queues will be reduced across all the maps. And outside of primetime, zerging will also be punished even more because you are not spreading your manpower out across the other maps. Bascially, a zerg will lose more than it gains. Because people will start to learn that zerging becomes more and more pointless, they will learn to join less populated maps as well with smaller groups.
You might wonder, why not just make the current maps bigger? Simply because Anet said these are the biggest maps they can make. So that’s where we have to work with. So yeah, having 1 extra map is really the only easy thing that they can do. And who isn’t excited about a totally new map? :O
Ideas that would add to it:
- +50% increased badge droprate in undermanned maps (motivates people to spread out). The karma buff just doesn’t cut it ^^
- Server-cross message: “Commander Siegerazor is in need of reinforcements in the [named] borderlands!”
- Remove JP (or add a portal to new zone) and skritt/centaur areas, plus reduce the amount of water in the middle of the borderlands. Basically, expand the map a bit more with interesting ground and spread the towers in the north. This will give small teams a slightly bigger advantage over zergs.
- Lastly, reduces the amount of players in a map a bit. I know it sounds WEIRD but we get more player spots with a new map anyways and having less players in a map helps to solve the issues as well.
I understand these ideas might be less effective for the servers that have full coverage already and 5+ hours queues. I mean, it will still solve some of the issues but this idea would defy help all the T3+ tiers out tho.
Please share your thoughts about adding a new map. What are the pros and cons?

Martypartys, we were about to storm Garisson because we noticed how basically everyone was at hills, but you guys had the same idea and attacked our Bay. We had to quickly retake it and after that Riverside was the real winner, still having their Hills.

Well, it’s interesting that you dislike bad mouthing but start accusing me. Why don’t you worry about those 4 people in the screenshot first? And because i can’t let this pass, i decided to make a video to end this stupid discussion. It shows you that i’m not doing anything wrong. I failed to RTL correctly in this video but it’s obvious that the waterdrops can still be there after going out of the water (when having swiftness). You will also see that seeing names through the walls is a graphical bug. Also, please observe the Asura animations before talking about floating and crazy things like that. You guys are making a fool of yourself and i’m losing respect with the second.

@Lichtquant. What accusation did i make? Read the opening post again. You will see that i NEVER accused anyone. Maybe you guys should read before responding first. I didn’t accuse anyone. Nice try blowing it up. I wish i had made a screenshot when i saw one of the nametags in the ground but i was too late. again, i didn’t accuse anyone, i only posted my observations in Bay.
That said, if you can explain my why i was able to see friends and foes, i woul love to know as well. (I prolly held control tho). The water spots are there because i just came out of the water. Pretty logical, especially as i just jumped down in the water from the cliff (where mesmers hide). The chat backs that up.
But i’m not going to discuss this even further. You can think all you want. All i want is a fair matchup. And as mentioned before, i don’t have anything against your guild. So just chill! ;D

Ermehgeeeerd!! That battle in Riverside borderlands at Hills was crazy!!! Really epic and long siege. Riverside truly has the best lord defensive i have ever seen. UNTY, good try at trying to get our small Gandara zerg, but you didn’t know [Dius] was waiting behind them incase! Later on, you guys wiped us from behind tho, when Riverside pushed out! Very epic and balanced matchup so far! Keep it up everyone!

Have fun everyone! The reset was awesome and pretty balanced! Riverside seems like a very dedicated server with more coverage than Gandara and AG tho! We’ll see how it goes! hopefully we have some nice fights!

Just a heads up! As i don’t want any drama in here so i keep it short. But keep an eye out for a guild called TIA (Riverside). I think they are called “Tyrian Intelligence Agency” and i noticed that they enjoy scouting a lot. Pretty awesome guild concept tbh! But anyways, they were found in our Bay, in the walls and also in the ground. They didn’t capture our Bay but that could be because we had about 4 of ours inside as well, noticing their movements under the ground. We are not accusing them because we don’t know if they actually glitch capped anything yet but please, keep an eye out!

If the maps can’t be much bigger.. start by maybe reducing the amount of water in the borderlands and also remove the centaur/skrit areas? Also, make a portal to a new zone for the jumping puzzle maybe.
People ignore the water coz it’s boring and the Quaggan events suck. imagine if there was a big battlefield in the middle and a little outpost in the middle with a portal that leads to the northen part of the map (old orb location). So it’s a pretty nice shortcut if you own the portal! I bet it would become a hotspot for smaller teams to fight for. But again, add more land in that area. The water is a huge mistake.

2 zerker wars and 1 zerker thief is not a wack setup loflux. That’s a pretty DPS focused party. Heck, i would say it’s even more effective than having 4 warriors which are sonic boon / knight specced.
Again, let’s stop acting like 4 zerkers = the standard or normal way of playing. 4 zerker warriors is actually the most effective and optimal setup in a lot of dungeons. You can’t expect most people to have this kind of gear. I’m running CoF daily now for some berserker gear and with only 3 pieces and a different trait setup, i alrdy notice that the difference is huge compared to the sonic boon build.
I personally think that the gear/dps check is a lame gamepaly element tho. But i alrdy said that so i leave it at that. The dungeon designers can do whatever they want ofc. i’m done with it anyways. Most dungeons show no challenge and the only one that does a bit, has a dps/gear check for the lulz.

We played with 2 sonic booners (more offensive specced tho) i think. But that’s not even the point. The point is that there is a high gear/dps check at the end of a dungeon. And that boss is also bugged half of the time. Stop defending it, because it doesn’t make you more elite or anything. I also did it and i’m not even going to brag about it because it’s a boss that doesn’t require any skill.

. Here is a vid with footage from early december. It shows a lucky killstreak that i had on my roaming thief. As you see, the damage is totally sick. At the start i kill like 3-4 guys on my own.
. But.. The conditions get the best of me. The AoE flying arround get the best of me. etc! If i had retreated better, i could have made it myself a bit easyer but i got lucky and rallied a few times! That said, it shows you that full crit thieves are squishie as hell.

Note: No food, consumables and only 1 bloodlust stack. Also, i was and am still not using ascended gear on my thief. So yeah, it can be a lot worse! ;]
Also, underleveled enemies are my favourite victims =p j/k, i don’t play my thief that much in WvW anymore. It feels a bit too easy at times.

Isn’t it possible to just tranfser during the night because the population is like a lot lower? You will safe a lot of gems that way if possible.

I finally did it today! The sparks seemed to behave beter but we actually had a lot harder time than the last time i tried this dungeon (different builds i guess). We spent about a hour to get this boss killed. It really is NOT balanced.
We used 3 warriors, a mesmer and a guardian. While not being full berzerker warriors, our damage was really high (GS). We used the mesmer for time warp and the guardian would throw tears because his damage was the lowest.
It went fine at first but at some points, she would heal up again after only 15 seconds. What the hell? It really demotivated us! (This must be a bug btw?) So after 30 minutes or so.. our guardian decided to switch out his toon for a warrior. So we had to 4 pretty DPS focused warriors and a mesmer.
We started all over. We brought all the tears over to the wall again, fought her there to at the wall to allow us to use the whirlwind spin for maximum damage. We did loads of damage! Her HP got lower with each phase but we were very afraid because if we would fail to do quick spark runs, we would have to fight an uphill battle again. Luckily, we kept going at it. We used 2 timewarps because the fights took so long! honestly, i think that we wouldn’t be able to complete it without timewarp! The progress between her healing would simply be too low. We wouldn’t have enough damage without time warp.. How pathetic is that?
When we finally beat it, we were extremely happy of course. And even happier when the NPC didn’t bug at the end of the dungeon (happened a few days ago to me!). So yeah, finally done with the dungeon master title. Phew………
So is this a balanced dungeon? NO no NO!
- Not only the longest dungeon in the game, it also has one of the longest boss fights (Grenth) and one of the most stupidly designed bosses (Simin). Either make this path shorter (quicker boss fights) to put it in line with the other paths or make certain fights a bit easyer.
- Skill wise, Lupicus is a much harder fight (best designed boss in the game imo). So why would you punish a good team that can get past Lupicus by having a DPS check on a boss at the end? Like… Really? And it’s not even a small DPS check! You can’t change your skills etc. to make it work. You actually need people with high damage stats like power/critical damage. It’s pretty much a GEAR check as well! Again, why a DPS check in Guild Wars? It doesn’t make sense to me.
Solution without ditching the whole boss is to make the healing on Simin A LOT less. That’s all you need to do. I’m baffled that you think this dungeon is well designed or fun for a team. Only highly organised guild teams can do this, and even then they have to PICK certain players over others because the DPS/GEAR check is extremely high…
CoF runs take less than 7 minutes with our setup so like i said before, our damage really isn’t low and we are pretty experienced GW2 players. The boss is just badly designed. Admit it and make a more drastical change please.

As a longtime thief player, i don’t find it hard to counter enemy thieves anymore. Only when they us the steal combo but if Shadowstep is charged, that can also be escaped from.
When a d/d thief stealthes, you know he goes for your back. So you wait 1-2 seconds, dodge to his old position and turn around. He should now roughly be infront of you without any stealth time left to backstab you. If he uses shadow refuge however, you want to attack into it right away so he is forced to retreat it, without gaining the long stealth buff.
Of course this is all in theory but just keep this in mind when fighting them. It’s all about knowing your enemy. Play the thief, and you will learn it as well.

Won 5 out of 7 paid matches today, while i have never been able to win a paid tournament before so it’s good to finally see some QP’s! :p i’m not a hardcore spvp player so facing less “pro” teams was very nice as well. We still faced plenty of R35+ groups but many of those were on the same level as us which made for great matches! And despite the fact that matchmaking is not in yet, the matches felt a lot more balanced alrdy than either free tournaments or the old paid tournaments.
It’s also great to see that the queue was extremely short! On top of that, i felt that the new map worked pretty well for tournament play. Someone suggested keeping this tournament system and rotating maps. I would love this!
As for the rewards. Awesome to get so many paid exclusive items on one day but it felt a bit too easy? Even if you lost, you would recieve a paid chest with all kinds of new items. I don’t mind it, but for the cost of 1 tournament ticket, a lot of people don’t mind losing to get the gear i think. But yeah, only lost 1 tournament ticket today because i also recieved 1 from the daily.! =D
So yeah, really loving the new system! Keep it up! Matchmaking, custom servers, better balance and observer mode will motivate me even more to spend time in this game format! We just have to wait.. Just 1 or 2 more months!

The tonic is barely used by our guild and i honestly don’t see the need to hide the reason for using it either. So i’ll explain why WE us it. It’s simply to make it easyer for the group to follow the leader/frontline. Sure, the red mark works but this makes it even easyer. That’s all!
There is another small reason, but that only applies when you face enemy groups that know your guild (and armor skins) very well. They will try to kill your leader to heavily disorganise your group. So using the potions on all your frontline makes it harder for them to do this. But it’s really not needed in this tier.
Culling, a special skill or anything like that is not and has never been the reason for using this potion. There is nothing unfair about using it. I just wanna make that clear.

We tried to melee Lupicus (as seen in your videos) but didn’t know about dodging the grub yet. So he ate a few and we decided to just range the first part. But first we had to reset him. In the process of resetting him, our NPC did die and we ressed him (which was probably not needed but i think the bug alrdy kicked in at that moment?).
I’m pretty sure he was alive when we started/entered the last bloodstone area. That said, i read in a different thread that this bug might have been fixed. I’m going to retry it next week prolly.
Enjoying your vids a lot btw. We did Arah path 3 in 40 minutes the other day (our first speedrun and was even my first time in that path). So until i cba to try path 4 again, i’m just going to farm tokens in path 3! :p

I disagree. It’s one of the only well designed bosses. Also, Arah is supposed to be one of the hardest dungeons so just learn to fight him!
Warrior shield makes the barrage attack a joke. Mesmer feedback on Lupicus is very strong as well. And there are many more ways to deal with that attack.

I just want to point out that this happened before to me and it only shows up once in my editing. Yesterday i had the same problem with a post and i had restarted my internet, relogged and pasted my whole post again to get it right. I honestly can’t do anything about it because it only shows up once when i try to edit it! I’ll try some relogging to get it right tho.

. So.. a few months back i did Arah path 4 with a balanced group and we couldn’t beat Simin. Today i decided to give it a try again, as it was the last path i had to do and i had a strong guild group available.
So we manage to beat Simin (who seemed less buggy this time actually!) and progressed to the altar. The red obsidian shard was glowing brightly. The last boss for my Dungeon Master title. As someone who prefers to play PvP, it was already a drag to do this dungeon path twice, but realising that it bugged today made me kinda angry..
Nothing happened! It didn’t progress. We killed all undead around the altar. We even went back to kill the champions, and all the other mobs but alas. The NPC just stood there next to the altar, laughing at us for wasting another hour in Arah (we used a speedrun setup today so it went fast). I’m sorry but how is this even possible? This dungeon has been out for 5 months!! It’s a long and “hard” dungeon that should not have bugs at the end of it!
You guys add new content every month, so why is this still not fixed? I’m confused and would like to know if the next update will deal with it. Coz honestly, i cba to run this dungeon path again if the risk of having it bugged at the very end is still there.

Wait.. what? Gandara is actually looking for guilds? But.. what if we get all these mean guilds in, not caring about our beloved Bessie? :O
Jokes aside, we are a very strong primetime server that has a very fun and stable community. We are playing in T4, simply because we lack night/morning coverage. But that doesn’t mean anything because the best battles are definitely in this tier!
We have have faced a weak and strong Piken Square, the dedicated and persistent Augury Rock, the formidable and defensive Dzagonur but also the optimistic Aurora Glade. All of them were and are a lot of fun to fight against!
If you are a NA or Oceneanic player/guild, that is still looking for a friendly, fun, stable EU server that plays in T4/5 without too much drama, queues and BS! Gandara is one of the best options for ENG speaking people!
Only a few days left before the paid transfers are in so don’t wait too long! ;D

I just wanna point out that i have done loads of guild clashes and i have also seen loads of arranged GvG by now. The full on clashes is what people in here are talking about and what people want.
Sure GvG ala GW1 could work but it would need to be DRASTICALLY different. Not only less numbers to differentiate it from WvW, but you would need to split people up a lot because otherwise most fights won’t be longer than a minute (yeah sometimes….). When you guys say you want GvG and show videos of clashing 20v20, you must understand that i assume you talk about that kind of GvG, and not the one in GW1. So please, explain what you really want and how you see it work. Not only for the hardcore, but also for the casual guild ets.
Another thing, Anet thought GvG in GW1 was to hard to get into, partly because 8v8 was too much players. So wanting 20v20 is even more unlikely. But, dream on guys! Dream on.

It’s like Americans have never known about culling before. It’s interesting to see that you guys are bringing it all up again. Why do you think Anet is working very hard on fixing it? Uhm.. maybe because culling has been an huge issue since the start??? Why start the QQ all over again?
And using it tactical or unintentional doesn’t MATTER because ALL servers have to deal with it. YEP! Even your server is "abusing’ it, intentional or not. Using it as an excuse doesn’t even make sense!

And about GvG. Yeah, it’s fun to watch and i did observe some GvG even today on Gandara (arranged). The thing is, it WILL not work as format in this game. GW1 had an entire different balance. Having GvG in this game with 15+ will result in zergy clashes where dropping AoE and combo fields is more important than anything else. The depth is gone. The fight will take less than a minute, as seen in most arranged “GvG” fights in GW2 so far. The game is not build/balanced/designed for big guild clashes.

And yeah! Using KISS as bait was expected but we went in anyways! Getting killed by UNTY that way was a smart move from their side. Dumb that we went in anyways tho! KISS is just so tempting to attack! They drop so fast and bags are flying everywhere! Jummy!

Pretty sure they will revamp these titles akin to the sPvP titles. Gladiator → Mercenery → Avenger etc.
The high numbers are not the problem (they are for some of the other WvW achievements tho! Yakslapper for example). We just need some reward for hitting the tiers.

Not really a RG thing even tho the chance exists they started with it. Even in T4/5 Euro i see tons of guilds using it. The MAIN reason is to make it even more clear who the leader is (we only use commander to lead pugs). Using a ghost plus mark makes it easy to follow in chaotic fights. That said, i never knew it would benefit those who abuse culling. I doubt it’s also their reason for using it because mostly only the leader and a few others use it (to confuse the enemy on who the real leader is).

Battle at Dzagonur’s Garisson was insane.
[Dius] started off by taking Longview, but we had loads of enemies at the door in no time. In the meantime, [Yak] and many others were try to get Bay from you guys. We were trebbing your Garisson from Longview so you guys had two spots to defend. The fight was hectic but you guys managed to take down the wall and went in Longview, where we waited in the Lord room to stop you. To our surprise, our combined AoE/CC was extremely effective at the ramp against the Dzagonur group but we had a very hard time with our ~ 20 players. Then BAM! [YaK] came from behind to help us out! That was so epic and nicely timed, i shed a tear.. :p
Then, Gandara finally took the Bay keep and we, [Dius] were still trebbing the garisson. It went down and we started to go in, getting some help from [MM]. We tried ramming your inner gate but recieved too much pressure and had to retreat eventually.
Another huge attack was launched on Longview from the Dzagonur group, again we were heavily outnumbered. We tried charging tactics and building arrow carts but nothing worked because we were pretty much out of supply as well. The gate went down again and you guys managed to capture it. Some of us stayed alive, went behind you guys in the Lord room and managed to wipe most of you again. After that, we farmed everyone who tried to get into the tower while we waited for the Lord buff to go away. We re-took it.
Now, i’m not entirely sure what happened next but we regained our footing and started working on taking down the garisson again. We used catapults to take down the outer wall (which was a bit repaired) and used the same siege to get the inner gate down (still at 50%). [YaK] joined us at that moment and because our catapults got destroyed by your mortar’s, we rammed down your inner gate and went in.. The craziest fight ever started right there.
The garisson seemed pretty empty at first but little did we know that the contest thingie was bugged. So you guys kepy waypointing in. It took us a while to figure out because of culling and all that. That said, we started gathering up at the enemy waypoint (at mystic forge) and started our best bag farm ever!! Haha! And you guys just kept coming! But… we noticed the toll on our side as well, we had more and more going down because the invulnerable buff gave you guys some room to fight back. Luckily, Lloantix (Kinkywarrior) went to the watergate to hit it, and it did make the waypoint contested. Phew! The amount of bags laying around was insane but it was a really epic fight! Thanks for that!

Most of our members use builds that compliment the team. We had a lot of CC and AoE and that is super effective in such a small area.. We had a lack of mesmers that day tho! Imagine if we had a Time Warp on that wall!

Gandara – WvW Warrior
I can give you some information about Gandara:
The queue times are not long at all and only present during primetime. But sometimes only 3 out of 4 maps have a queue. It depends per map of course but i haven’t been in a queue for more than 10 minutes yet since the first month of the game. I never play on EB tho!
The real reason for choosing Gandara however is the fact that we organised ourselves a lot in the past few weeks. A month back we were a T6 server that dabbled into T5 now and then but now we are easily holding out in T5 and dabble into T4 from time to time. The plan is to stay in T4 tho!
We have a server website, a public TS that i used by a lot guildless players as well, a weekly TS meeting with all the guilds/commanders and of course an awesome community. Most organised guilds really stepped up their game as well, since we learned a lot against Piken Square, which houses some of the strongest EU guilds.
Besides having a nice WvW community, our server is pretty crowded PvE-wise as well. And while not the most busy sPvP server, top teams like Onibawan can be seen on Gandara as well.

Everyone who runs shouts uses Shake it Off tho. But even if you don’t use shouts, a lot of people run Endure Pain so i doubt any warriors needs more stunbreakers.
I think the question is, how much does one value 90 toughness? And i might have overreacted on the Balance Stance part. It’s a good alternative but i prefer 90 toughness as passive because i don’t need more stunbreakers and the cooldown difference is very minimal.

One of the best skills for WvW when using Signet Mastery and boon duration runes!
Don’t listen to these trolls. ~13 seconds stability, every 48 seconds is bad?? mmkay.
It’s better than balanced stance imo (Plenty of stun removal when running shouts). Sure the +90 toughness is not that great, but that’s not the point of taking this skill!
Oh, it could be less nice when you run no boon removal, signet trait and no other stun breakers ;P
