Nice fights everyone. Gandara doesn’t have a lot of night/morning presence tho! Like i said in an earlier thread, Gandara learned a lot from fighting Piken for a bit in T4. We are a lot more organised now and the major guilds have made progress as well. That said, there is still much to improve on!

You guys on the other hand, seem a bit unorganised! I have yet to be steamrolled by a decent guild/group! So far, we seem to face a lot of enemy zergs and such but we break them easily. I’m not here to give you guys golden tips or anything but when half of ya runs away and the other half pushes in, you alrdy lost the battle.

I think you guys have a pretty nice coverage tho! We get quite the pressure from both sides so it’s a very nice and even battle so far! Good luck everyone!

Gandara has played for like a month in T4 now and when Piken Square regained their full strength, we felt defeated and exhausted but we learned a lot and Gandara is now more organised, determined and better than ever! Good Luck in the next matchup. I see that you guys failed to not draw attention to your server just before the paid transfers are coming through. That must suck for you guys. I understand that you want to win as much as possible but maybe, it would have been smarter to calm down this week, from a tactical standpoint of course. Now you guys are getting lots of transfers from what i heard. I hope it won’t be too bad! And thanks again for all the nice fights.

There are a couple things that are a must in my opinion. First off:

1) Flags will need skills! Every environmental weapon in GW2 has skills and giving flags skills in CPT would be awesome and spice things up. I personally recommend tanky skills but it could also be different per map!

2) The flag standard should be in a poisonous or burning area. We don’t want bunkers to stand next to their flag 24/7 do we?!

I like mountaincall warhorn the most. There is a serious lack of nice warhorns tho.

@Lunatic, Berserker would work yeah. It gives you slightly more crit damage at the cost of losing toughness.

Other runes that work nicely are might duration imo.

Rune of the fire ( +25 power and 20% might duration)
Rune of Hoelbrak ( +25 power and 20% might duration)
Rune of strength ( +25 power and 20% might duration)

Or rune of mercy (+25 toughness and faster reviving)

There are also a few runes that increase swiftness duration by 20% but that’s really not needed.

Lastly, Rune of Divinity would work but that’s way too expensive for short term usage.

And from what i heard, Coexist is thinking about leaving Gandara. Guess the chance exists they join the Piken Square bandwagon before paid transfers are ready.

I’m not saying that you guys want this or are hoping to be the next bandwagon. I know it’s not the case. Unlucky timing with your momentum just before paid transfers.

Anyways, hoping for a few more fun nights. It’s hard to play as the only organised guild on a borderlands now and then tho!

Dius only had 12 today as well but we did some good stuff on AR borderlands. After some briar flipping, we managed to hold it and wipe the attackers. Then later in the night we ninja’d Bay from the north with a few golems while some of our randoms were fighting enemies around the Vale area. Also, we had some good fighting practice!

If you believe the extra rifle damage is better than the control a hammer provides, then that’s fine and if it works better for you, that’s even better. I hope you can provide a video of your awesome build so i can give it a shot. No pun intended.

Just remember that i have high survivability and 2400+ power in battle. My damage is not that low btw, it’s AoE as well. The rifle has piercing shots if traited but it’s still a very single target oriented weapon and adds nothing to the group in terms of combos. The hammer has a blast finisher as well. Maybe your build works better when roaming but in a roaming group, i doubt it works that well.

And yes, of course i have a rifle/longbow in my inventory. I switch to those in sieges etc.

@lunatic. I’m not doing any dungeons anymore with my warrior but i ran the “Sonic Boon” build. It uses Greatsword/rifle. Hammer is not that great in dungeons. A lot of bosses are immune to control as well. Here is the link:

The ascended items are only obtainable via Fractal of the mists at this moment. But Arenanet has stated that they will become obtainable in WvW in the future.

I’m using full T3 cultural, yep. It’s my favourite heavy armorset in the game.

DPS is really low and you spent 99% of the time just aoe tagging players and running back out. You added very little to the fight to be honest.

It’s your opinion of course but your logic is flawed.

I assume you are new to the warrior but i’m running a shout spec. So every time i use shouts, i heal my allies and give them boons for a very long duration. On top of that, my warhorn skills remove tons of conditions and boons as well (traited). That right there, is already a lot of support.

But the most important part about a hammer warrior, is the AoE control. The fact that you think more damage is the way to go is flawed. You only need a little bit of damage because you have plenty of guildies doing the same. Together, you dish out enough damage to kill enemies. But the control is extremely valuable. It reduces the incoming damage drastically and makes the enemy a perfect target for AoE skills.

Glass cannon great swords warriors are not the only way to play this game, especially in larger fights. Just saying!

I still prefer my thief for roaming honestly.

But my d/d is awesome for group fights as they provide so much support to the team. They are incredible fun to duel with as well tho!

Basically, they are both VERY good (in WvW) but both can do things that the other can’t. And that is the reason why you won’t see players trade their thieves in for d/d eles.

As for why i have a thief (d/d specced since Pistol Whip nerf) and a d/d ele.. I play most professions in the game and have always favoured Fotm builds. If you think that makes me a bad player, go ahead. I don’t care at all. I play builds that i truly enjoy. I can’t help it that they are very effective at the same time!

Thank you everyone! I definitely had some Immediate Music in here! Artists like Epic Score, Two Steps From Hell and Immediate Music make “epic” music with a lot of choir action. It goes nicely with videos like this imo!

Thunderbrew, you can take out the warhorn for a shield when playing solo or with a zerg. But when running with a guild roaming group, either take axe off hand for damage or warhorn for more condi removal support. And you seem to understand how a good build will look like. As seen in the link i posted, i do run 0/0/20/30/20. That said, i prefer knight over invader gear. Warriors have high HP alrdy and vitality is ment to counter conditions, something we can easily remove anyways.

That said, invader gear could work as well.

If you are wondering about my build. I’m running a supportive hammer warrior (damage is quite high with bloodlust/might stacks tho!). I use shouts for healing and i have a lot of condition removal via the warhorn. I hope you enjoy it!

Very nice footage, despite it being a bit too chaotic/mindless at times. I’m using an extremely similar build. I don’t get why everyone ignores the warhorn. It’s so good with the condi removal trait.

Fights like this will be a lot more interesting when they fix the culling imo! Hurry Anet.

Thought we did quite some good things today, even tho most big Piken guilds were on different borderlands. We had a lot of fun battles going on and even took some T3 stuff.

Gandara has a lack of serious organised guilds tho and even during primetime, we are noticing it now. That said, we seem to do just as well as Augury. This makes me believe that we can be a T4 server. Sure, we get dropped to T5 (T6 maybe…) because Piken is going full steam ahead to T3 (T2 after?) now but we will manage to get back in T4.

I expected this. PS is not a T4 server and we knew that beforehand. Atleast we had 3 weeks of fun tho! Now they are back in full power and we might as well lay down our weapons and take a break. There is nothing we can do with the current Gandara guilds/organisation.

But we are improving! And we will try reduce the hit we get. We try to drop in T5, and have one week of fun play again with new tactics, guilds and organiation. And then when we are back in T4, we will be stronger than ever.

Wasted 500 on the Gift of Battle and about 500 on armor that i don’t wear anymore.

I have 1500 in stock right now. I’m saving them incase they add some items that are actually worth it.

This could be a nice solution to some of the problems that currently exist with minions and pets. I know AoE will be toned down so they don’t die as quickly but let’s take a look at CoE for example. There is this boss that drops AoE ice and fire or earth fields that deal huge damage. As player, you can dodge them but your pets and minions WILL die. This just shows how bad they are and how unfair that fight is. So my solution is..

When you, as player dodge roll. Your pets / minions will recieve “evasion” as well (possible even a bit longer!). This means you can save your pets by dodge rolling in certain situations.

Might be fun to watch but first they have to fix culling.

Also, when you look at GW2 stream channels, most people watch sPvP and not WvW. Big GvG fights seem and will prolly always be more of a niche.

It defy needs some improvement (mainly minor traits). Some major traits are pretty good and the bono duration + vitality is nice as well! I like some of your ideas btw. I think Juggernaut is a bit too complicated tho. You need something that is easyer to understand for everyone. And because they are minor traits i would make them less good. My idea/change is:

5 – “Regen for 3 seconds on dodge roll” (like that idea a lot)
15 – “Regen lasts 25% longer”(less good but don’t forget allies can give regen as well!)
25 – You revive allies 25% faster (Very nice imo just needed some number tweaking!!)

I like the idea of having protection while reviving awesome as well.

It has been said before but Piken really has some beastly guilds out there. I don’t think i have to name them again. You can’t counter them without having the same type of experienced guilds so that’s definitely a problem for Gandara right now. That said, we are learning a lot and some guilds got motivated to build similar roam guilds as well now. It will take a while but we are determined to survive in T4.

I’m in favor of reducing both bunker and burst builds. I believe adding more boon removal will already deal with a lot of bunker problems and the thief, a class that could potentially steal boons etc. with a bit of fixing, would have more flexibility in builds because besides d/d, boon stealing builds would become viable as well.

To reduce burst, some number tweaking could prolly do the trick.

I also lol’d that after defending Bay for such a long time, AR just kept going on with trebbing. We took out atleast 8+ trebs with our own siege. We also took down loads of catapults etc. It was a long siege and then, Piken suddenly took your Garisson! xD

I don’t see what is OP about a weakness inflicting consumable (with internal cooldown). It’s maybe a bit effective if entire groups use it but it’s not THAT great.

And yes prolly intended, a lot of people use it so i’m pretty sure that they know. Also, the effect is vastly different than those summoning items and stealth kits etc. It’s more like a “buff” than a tool. The “tools” got banned.

That said, i don’t care if they remove it or not. It’s not gamebreaking at all. But you clearly think it’s unfair. Well let me tell you, someone that uses this buff might be able to inflict a few seconds of weakness on you during the entire fight. And you could have done the same to him (so not that unfair lol). Nothing special.

Unfair because everyone can use it? Aha…

It was fun running around with RG, taking pretty much anything in our wake. Next week is going to get rough for ya’ll!

This is fun! Glad to see Gandara taking it up a notch. I see almost every Gandaran WvW player online tonight and it shows in the score! I hope we can have this insane pressure more often! It’s awesome tho. Red beats green.. muhaha!

I always use hammer. While not a strong solo weapon against decent enemies, it wrecks havoc in bigger fights. You can control so much enemies, it’s insane. The AoE of your allies will do the rest. I tried playing with both sword/axe and sword/shield. Sword is for mobility and snare. I find it hard to choose between axe and shield myself tbh. I currently run shield again because i love the extra defense that you get. And we have some awesome shield traits (extra toughness, skill cooldown reduction and reflecting missles). On the other hand, the axe allows you to take a bit more offensive traits and it’s a lot easyer to full Earthshaker (adrenaline skill) because of Whirling Axe.

I run knight with with some mixed trinkets. Mostly toughness, precision and crit damage. I use boon duration runes so i keep signet of rage almost 100% up (can do if i trait 10 more pts into tactics). Crit chance is about 50% with 40 crit damage. It’s not high but in the end, i’m a control specced warrior that can take a hit and deal good AoE damage (kinda depends on off-hand). I use “Shake it off!”, Dolyak Signet and Endure Pain.

I’m using the reduced signet cooldown trait aswell.

After loads of hours played on my thief, i would say that they are good in PvE, great in sPvP and OP in WvW. I just feel like cheating when Backstabbing someone. Of couse, this is because WvW has upscaled charakters and the upscaling doesn’t work that well it seems. Also, shortbow auto-attack with full zerker gear is crazy! Combine that with clusterbombs and poison res denial when defending a tower against a few upscaled enemies and you start laughing out loud. They drop like flies!

That said, we are squishie as hell. I guess the high risk high reward is true when it comes to the thief. It’s just that the risk is not that big against upscaled enemies and the reward is still the same!

I like the idea. Currently, Flanking Strike is stopping me from toying around with s/d.

Exactly, i feel offended as a Gandara player. Stop talking about servers as a whole! It only shows that you are a very ignorant and judgemental person. I personally have no problems with both servers. I’m enjoying the match up and i have not accused any enemy yet because of hacking/expoiting or alliances etc.

This thread is one big drama thread and while it’s very funny to read (i doubt anyone takes this serious), the trolling sometimes gets out of hand and certain people get irritated enough to blame entire servers for the behaviour of a few basement warriors. Kinda pathetic if you ask me.

Yeah, Piken Square is the only server with less people playing during Xmas.. Haha! Oh god, you guys are cracking me up.

Most Gandaran guilds barely had any people online last week. We, [Dius] rolled with 50% or less of our normal player attendance. I thought the match was fun tho. The score reflected that.

Let’s see what will happen this week. I just checked that screenshot. From what i remember, Tortun is also part of [smug] (iirc). I also see some [Yak] tags in there. Hmm.. Didn’t expect such low play from known Gandara guilds. I expect those members to be kicked instantly and maybe a better recruitment process is neccesary for those guilds aswell. Keep us updated with screenshots! We’ll try to do the same.

I’m not accusing anyone here btw. Just sayin’!

Super insane damage and some support options that pale compare to the support of other allies (obviously). So mainly damage…

Oh yeah.. we can play blindbot which is actually quite effective. It’s also super boring most of the time.

Honestly, in WvW i still say: Descent of Shadows > Fleet Shadow. But i will give it a try and see how much of an effect it has.

Free tournies pop up within 2 minutes on EU. And that’s been like that since launch for me. I’m mainly talking about prime time right now but outside of peak hours tournies will also pop up. It just takes a bit longer. I’m not sure about paids outside of peak hours, they pop up within 10 minutes during prime time mostly. I have only done a few of them tho.

I disagree with OP. It’s not skillful at all (well maybe for you lol). It’s a chore and i dislike opening my inventory all the time just to have the perfect setup at all times. I’m happy with this buildlock feature.

Gotta like the addition of [XxX] on Gandara. We noticed them roaming around and even i was a bit sceptical about their movement patterns at first. They walk via weird paths and hug towers etc.. Atleast that’s what i noticed from the very brief moment i saw and played with them. Good to see that we don’t have to worry! ;p

All i can say is welcome aboard! Gandara might even reach tier 4 if we keep scoring!

If you are looking at a Eng speaking server i would choose either Desolation or Gandara. Desolation probably has more top teams but i know that Onibawan (for example) is on Gandara.

Sireuh, relax bro. It’s understandable that you nightcap. Fighting us head on during primetime is a lost battle anyways. You guys have just as much people playing during daytime/primetime as us. When we beat you during that time, it’s mostly because we are simply better. Deal with it >.<

Oh and don’t forget, both servers don’t have a HUGE WvW population. We can maybe own on 2 maps, but we will lose on 2 other maps. You guys have the same problem so sometimes it’s the illusion of having less players. Just take a look at the other maps next time and you will see that the numbers on both sides are pretty even.

Btw, i ment that the whole match up was pretty fun. Neither side did tons of nightcapping. Which made it a very awesome and fun battle. But then thursday night you guys had the whole map. Not a surprise but it gave you guys a 10k point lead. All we did was 1 night of pvdoor aswell (sacrificed daytime players for that) to make it even again.

Yesterday i was shocked that FR did loads of nightcapping again (NOT). It almost looked like all our hard work was for nothing. Of course it didn’t came as a surprise because that’s mostly how FR is winning matches. Luckily, we have some dedicated players on Gandara and during primetime we started roflstomping again as usual and some even played during the entire night. We catched up and that’s amazing. About 10 more hours of fighting and one of the most epic battles so far (for me atleast) is over. Good luck to all involved!

Same skin, different name. I got one forge dagger at the moment (from a paid tournament chest) and they glow based on the map it seems. Or maybe it’s just random or something but they DO glow.

If you play this game just for the spvp, you gonna have a bad time.

I’m lucky and enjoy every aspect of the game. I’m r31 aswell but i feel like i just started. I put way more hours into PvE and WvW. I’m playing tournies about 2/3 times a week so i don’t burn myself out. I’m kinda waiting for matchmaking, custom servers, more modes etc… So yeah, i can imagine that it gets boring if spvp is all you do, every day.

Just quit and come back later when it’s more fleshed out? spvp is NOT ready yet. We know that by now. There is no need to burn yourself out. There is no monthly fee so why are you worrying?
