FYI the final week we (Piken) were in T2 against SFR and JS we scored a total of about 25k and SFR about 350k… now thats called being utterly dominated and destroyed to the point of despair…

If u guys r having trouble with little Piken now and u wanna go up a tier then u got a whole world of pain to look forward to up there I can assure u

You didn’t read my post, did you? The whole point of me wanting to go back to T4/5 is because there is A LOT less zerging/blobbing which results in less skill lag, culling etc. which results in more fun.

Having to deal with Piken has nothing to do with it. Heck, we won last week if you can still remember lol. To prove my point. We faced Piken back in T4 as well and it was a lot more fun and less zergy. So i’m pretty sure it’s just the tier and the way servers adapt to it.

I never experienced anything like it since launch. I think a tier back + WvW update might do wonders tho!

Was decently fun in EB the other night. Only map without queue which was weird. It’s one of the best maps and there is constant action but the lag/skill lag/culling etc. was really destroying the fun. The moments i didn’t have one of those issues, i had fun most def.

Shout out to Dark Horde for the GvG! That was fun!

Hmm might be my bad memory then. I guess i used it too soon then, which means the channel skill ruins it.

People following you can be annoying because they might use squishie builds and die, resulting in rallying the enemy. Or they die because they can’t hear the leader shouting commands via TS etc. Dieing is such a big deal because of rallying that it’s very undersstandable for guild groups to want to play alone. Besides, followers might not hide in time, so enemies will find them and the whole ninja attack or whatever might be ruined.

THAT SAID! YaK has good players that know how to play in an organised group so XxX is overreacting a little bit. That said, i would personally respect a guild leader and just go away if he asks me nicely.

SoS doesn’t work againt the guardian bubble but it is brilliant against most other classes.

Dius has been slacking lately. Blame Anet.

Basic pvp tricks. Nothing new. Heck, I easily ignore the guardian bubble on my thief using shadowstep. Start animation, shadowstep away and ss back when the gaurdian wasted his bubble.

Just try to get more quality questions in this time. Let’s get some NEW info out of them! ;p Don’t let them talk for 90% of the time about how they promise to get everything in, it’s just a matter of WHEN etc.. We need more interesting tidbits to chew on! There is of course the possibility that they truly have nothing interesting to tell, because nothing is happening…

Imo, full DPS thief works very nicely for ganking purposes. It’s harder to stay alive in group play but Dagger Storm in a blind field for example is very effective and keeps you alive.

The p/d condition build works as well of course. I’m more of a backstabber myself tho!

I don’t recommend heavy condition builds in WvW group/guild play tho. Bleeding won’t kill people because if you run with a decent group, you already down them with physical damage. Only poison is worth it but you also have that on the shortbow, when running a more DPS build.

I find it easyer with my DPS burst build to switch between individual and group play. That said, i prefer my more sturdy warrior and ele these days in WvW.

It’s good if you run with a guild group as you kill with tactics, numbers and combo fields! You won’t win fights with individual kills. Also, not dieing means that the enemy can’t rally. I play bunker d/d ele and a balanced hammer warrior in WvW. Both work extremely well for the type of play i have with my guild.

For WvW, i play more defensive and don’t really need a high crit damage. I’ll keep an eye out on my precision tho. Always gotta take fury into account as well of course!

Anyways, rings are the worst items to get cavalier for so i really regret that. But not i gotta find a way to make it work.

I’m using Knight in WvW, Berserker in PvE and also have a P/V/T set in my bank if i want to play full support or something.

I started getting ascended cavalier trinkets but learned after getting the rings and backpiece, that it’s a bad slot to get crit damage in. There was a thread and you would loss out on stats. It’s better to get crit damage in other slots basically.

Also, they added knight ascended trinkets in the last patch. Even with precision as MAJOR stat! So now i’m planning to get knight ( prec as major) accessories and amulet. This means that i will have a 50/50 cavalier/knight split on my trinkets, which will work very well with all my armor sets.

It’s true that we have hard fights now and then and lack a lot of coverage outside primetime. But we did manage to go from T6 to T3 (very slowly tho) without many transfers. Just a great solid community that worked very hard!

People still don’t understand the power of mobility, certain boons and sustained healing. A warrior does not rely on boons and has low healing. They rely on their high passive toughness/vitality, which indeed sucks very hard as has been proven countless times before. They also have a hard time disengaging fights, which makes it one of the hardest classes to play in PvP (imo).

We know the ele is a hybrid because of attunements. But the ele shouldn’t be able to be effective in all the roles and still outshine other classes in like 2 other aspects. I’m mainly talking about mobility and healing here.

The funny thing is. Mobility is one of the most important things to have in sPvP. What do those without it do? A guardian can play bunker but what can engineers, warriors and necros do? There is a reason why they are in the bottom of the PvP “Tier list.” And they all lack the same thing, mobility. Mesmers might look non-mobile as well but they have their clones and tricks which can be seen as a certain form of mobility. Even more so with certain utilities. Portal and Blink come to mind. The ranger was in the same boat as the other non-mobile classes. What happens? A strong trap build has been created and now a good ranger can win a lot of duels, having less reason to run away from a fight in the first place. But even then, there is a reason people started to use the sword. Mobility!! So it’s pretty clear that the classes without mobility have a small disatvantage in sPvP right now. (imo)

But why does that make the ele OP? Well… there is a thing called healing in GW2 that used to be a small part of the support role. Only a few classess had easy access to it but in limited ways. But when you look at the current meta, you notice that bunker eles outshine every other class in healing, something that shouldn’t be so easily accessed. Of course, the combination of healing AND mobility is what really makes the ele a imbalanced right now.

Edit: The ele nerfs were a step in the right direction but the RTL really needs that 40% slow buff in this map. Just to make it fair for other classes.

Edit: Hharry, this is another balance issue. I personally think Time Warp is too strong, Maybe reduce the duration or make the bubble smaller because when you compare it to some of the other class elites, it’s really strong and can EASILY decide the outcome of a battle.

Double or triple ele works really well so far. It’s lame and boring tanky play but as long as eles stay OP and bunkers are considered a fun part of the meta, we won’t see a difference i’m afraid.

We got stomped by balanced teams as well tho. Just saying that the lameway we played is defy a very viable option in this map.

I think it should be reduced to 10.

If it’s unfair, i’m sure Anet will fix it!

I think the instant teleport to Raven is a bit OP but we’ll see. What do you think?

We had awesome fights with our 17 Dius players. We are really improving in this tier because we have to fight against big enemy zerg/guilds. Unfortunately, the lag is making it very hard sometimes.

That last battle before the update on the wall was just frustrating for us tho. We need an open field to use our veils, portals and flanking against bigger groups. On the wall it was more about who had more numbers. The AoE limit hurt us in those situations.

Again, i’m still looking at it realistically. Rated matchmaking after 6 months (a half year!) is pretty minor in comparison. I’m glad that they learned from their mistakes and i know that they will implement the rest of the features. But it’s taking a lot of time and when we look at PvE. I see a totally new area, new fractal dungeons, guild missions, ascended items, holiday events, redesigned dungeons, living story…

Honestly, the PvP update is a lie. Guild missions etc. are also going to be added and easily overshadow the spvp updates. Maybe feb and march together will add the needed additions. I know plenty of people are willing to stay a bit longer because of the new map so…

But please… hurry!

Gandara is not ready for T3. We will do our best during the week tho, when we are stronger.

1) You ate 2 pistol whips. No stunbreakers against a thief? What do you expect?
2) You used your elite but the thief was smart and disengaged.
3) You didn’t pressure the thief when he got low on HP and went in Shadow Refuge. You allowed him to heal up and recieve 10+ seconds of stealth.

honestly, most necro builds do not stand a chance against a burst thief. You got bursted and didn’t escape it in time, giving him an advantage from the start. Pistol Whip is one of the lowest burst builds for a crit thief tho.

You had healed up at the end and had like 50% hp left. All he had to do was pop his elite and finish you off at that point. I know running away wasn’t an option because you are a Necro after all!

Ele and Engi have indeed a high skill floor. But most warriors will have a hard time against them. Against most classes tbh. Of course it also depends on builds etc. But because warriors have such a hard time in high end pvp, they have the highest skill floor imo.

Shout out to our snowman allies for saving us! Riverside needs to get some respect for the animals!

I only joined later in the evening but there was not that much more to do on our borderlands. The only real threat from AG was TUP. Aurora Glade can be very happy with such an addition.

Unforuntately, this caused our organised guilds to unintentially group up a lot at the battle locations. With no threat, and only TUP attacking something. All guilds were more than happy to fight of course. And the amount of wipes that TUP recieved doesn’t say anything. They showed great skill and in fair fights, would have won a lot of the battles. I hope next days will be less tiresome for you guys. We must have looked like a blob today at times. But i think you learned one thing.. Don’t mess around in Gandara bl!

Meh, chill guys! If that’s their way of fighting, let it be. It won’t really make a difference on the score anyways.

If you are a high dps class, you don’t stomp thieves. You kill them. It goes a lot faster. But this is pretty basic knowledge so i assume that you are not a high DPS class. In that case, you really have to force him into using the shadowstep skill. When that is done, you have to go to him very fast and stomp him. If you don’t do all of this quick enough, his stealth will be recharged. So if you know it took too long, don’t bother stomping from this point onwards. You just do full DPS and keep attacking when he enters stealth.

Basically, only do the second stomp attempt if you are fast and his stealth is still not recharged.

Seriously, this is a pointless thread that does not belong in this subforum. And if you are so interested in nice looking guild websites, why are only WvW guilds allowed to post?

Yup, it becomes very boring to watch after a while. I still enjoy participating in GvG fights but when observing, it’s almost impossible to see tactical decisions. Sure, the positioning is interesting but besides that, most players seem to target the nearest enemy and slash around while trying to stay alive. Of course you still want to get that perfect hammerstun in and interrupt enemy rezzes etc. But it’s just a chaotic spamfest most of the time and that’s also how it looks fro mthe side.

I do very much enjoy watching spvp streams tho. I can’t wait for observer mode and championships.

Many more weeks against Riverside, i feel it. This flaming etc. brings us nowhere. Anet can easily close this thread if you guys keep going on like that.

Let’s have some nice fights! I know both RS and AG have a good start and decent nightshift (atleast during weekend) but like always, Gandara might be able to get the points during the week.

Looked pretty bad for Gandara at a certain point during the reset and many people logged off early. A lot of big enemy groups. How do you guys make such big superzergs at these ungodly times? Just insane!

Can’t wait to have some nice clashes again against some of the AG guilds! UNTY, RAGE and many more! Cya on the battlefield and please, keep the flaming to a minimum.

If you think about it, the most powerful guilds are those that leave a server and cause the entire server to collapse because of bandwagoners and other scared guilds that follow them.

I would just run a more spvp oriented setup. Warriors are great with bigger groups because you need a strong melee push that can CC the zergs but in a smaller group, the warrior can’t stay alive long enough. Thieves have more burst, good sustained damage and can easily disengage with stealth etc. d/d ele is also a must imo. I agree with the guardian and mesmer tho. Their support and utility is just too valuable for a small group. As fifth slot i would probably take another d/d ele but that’s just how i see it based on the current Tpvp meta.

It all depends on your definition of powerful.

In terms of boosting score i would name nightcapping-guilds like RUIN.

In terms of annihilating zergs guilds like Red Guard, Dius and Druckwelle come to mind.

In terms of inidividual player skill and small-scale-combat I would name BNF and Bookah. (Would also name my guild if it was political correct)

Thanks but RG is way out of our league. They stomped us hard when we faced Piken Square. Even tho we improved a lot lately, they would still beat us. That said, i would nominate a lot of the Piken Square guilds. They are very organised, skilled and obviously learned a lot from RG.

Bad idea for fix.

It would make it too easy for people to get tickets, and to easy to join paids 24/7, which is still the only way to get QP’s.

Unless daily AT’s will become the only way in the future to earn QP’s, they really should keep paids as something that is hard to do and has a little cost as well.

By making frees fast and just one round, it’s way too easy to farm tickets.

Atleast we fight with honor. Every server has cheaters. Yesterday a Gandara mesmer portalled us in briar and we noticed that it wasn’t legit so everyone jumped out again. 10 seconds later the gate went down but the fact that all Gandarans jumped out and did not exploit made me proud to be part of such a friendly and nice community.

It also seems that some people judge entire guilds based on the posts of a few guild members. And those post are taken out of proportion as well. Why is Dius arrogant? We makes jokes in the forum and taunt you for more battles. We do not force anyone and we respect all guilds. You guys take it all way too serious! xD Even starting to insult us now!

Of course it is the players. There are plenty of ecceptions but a large portion of t1 players have a certain mindset and are willing to move servers constantly. In NA, people want to win super badly and only care about the score it seems (in EU this is a bit different because there is more guild rivalry in battles but winning still matters ofc).

I’m from a t4 EU server but would never force my members to change servers. Honestly, if a guildleader wants to move coz they can’t win with their server, despite being in t1, where the action is always high quality, he is forgetting it’s just a game. Of course there are also good reasons for moving. In t4 EU we have max 5m queues during primetime and a friendly community. That’s why i enjoy our server! We have loads of fun when we play and just because an enemy server does nightcapping now and then or something like that, it doesn’t bother us to the point that we move to a different server. Winning is great but only playing to win is lame.

Where did all our elitist and super competitive people go (former Gandarans)? To the t1/2 servers and we are fine with that. So you must understand that’s it’s really the players in the higher tiers that have this mindset. Sure, in lower tiers, guilds also move but that’s mainly to prevent queues or totally empty maps.

Also, you can see this mindset based on how the t1/2 threads are progressing. It’s always funny drama and excuses blablabla. 99% of outsiders are laughing when reading this thread. Nobody is taking this serious but yourselves.

Yeah we had great scouting today. You guys still managed to get south gate down before we got in tho! But it took too long for your golems to get to the north inner gate which gave us room to organise and build counter siege.

Zumy, just to let you know. We always run with 15-25 guildies. 25 is very rare however. And we always try to not run with random players. Maybe you got unlucky today. You can QQ about it in the forums here or keep your head up and play for the win! There are still plenty of days left so you guys still have it in control.

That’s fine moe. We enjoyed killing your golems at our hills today as well. ;p

5v5 is more spvp and our teambuilds are made for larger scale battles. That said, maybe something can be arranged.

@Myrmidone, money doesn’t matter. The amount of superior siege you guys use for defense is way more expensive than our offensive siege. Those golems were crazy, that is true. But it is fun to show you that your defense is not 100%. Hills is ours, let’s see if you can break it during primetime. You guys probably take it back in the morning tho! :P

Well, i wasn’t there yesterday but i remember on sunday that groups of similar size kept running away from us. Even all th eway to spawn at one point. This was very funny to see but it also shows how much confidence some of the organised groups have on Riverside.

I heard [dw] gave [Dius] some decent fights yesterday so i’m glad to see some competition! On the battlefield, people always try to fight when the advtange is on their side. So, to keep it fair, i propose an arranged GvG fight.

This is not only pointed at the [dw] guild. Any of the Riverside guilds who think they can best [Dius] in open field combat can send me a message! Let’s have some fun!
