So, if FA could stop camping things such as the skritt and centaur areas, preventing others from getting POI and skill points, that would be great. More like, people going for map completion and didn’t attack because we wanted the POI and the skill point, not to fight. Majority of the server I’m on, we don’t do that because we understand people are going for the items in there, not for a brawl of campers.

1. We took Briar and built a treb to kill the arrow carts on the gate.
2. We built 2 rams to kill the gate.
3. A bazillion arrow carts were behind the gate and killed the rams.
4. We ranged the gates down with our ossum staves.
5. Gate goes down and we are greeted to so many red circle on the ground, I thought the Bay contracted an aggressive form of the herpres simplex virus.
6. We get through the herpes after applying some Valtrex (which was a push through the gate).
7. We built 5 trebs in the vale to hit the inner. I can only imagine a lot of TC pugs were using this as a good opportunity to get WXP by repairing the gates/walls.
8. After a long bore fest of this. The walls and gates were finally down. We then put two trebs on the south outer gate of Bay to treb down siege on the walls.
9. We built another treb over looking the dock to kill more siege on the inner.
10. We made a push to the south inner gate and found out that Valtrex does not work because there was an outbreak of an even more nasty herpes strain.
11. We slowly built our own counter arrow carts and proceeded at a snails pace to take down what we could.
12. After taking down all the siege that we could while pushing with our own arrow carts, we pushed in and took the bay.

And you preferred something like..
1. Build Golems.
2. Take Bay.
… do you?

What you described sounds like what a siege should be, to be honest.

It was boring.

Seems like the only viable way to take anything now is with trebs….none of us really want to sit there and treb something.

Why can’t we ram rush it, knock down the gates, and force people to fight.

All this AC change did was promote zerging and turtling even more.

LOL. We just had what amounted to an arrow-cart battle with BT in TCBL Bay.

Those things are SOOOO OP now. We had like 15-20 ACs and BT killed them all..With ACs.

BT pushed the Lord Room…and built ACs inside.

This “good fights just to fight” jabber is pure nonsense. We at TC love our fights; we have, and will continue, to do fight many times with disregard for the points we net from it. It just so happens that places where you get points are also hotspots for activity. Would you rather us just let you take everything and then we can set up a designated area to have “fights for fun”? If we gave you what you wanted WvW would cease to be a challenge; the fun of it is that WvW is essentially a war simulation (with all that entails) and we want to win the war.

Also, there is some delusion (with an underhanded insult attached) that DB is pure like FA, in that, they don’t care about PPT. That’s also nonsense. T1 is all about PPT and DB’s renewed strength can be traced to its new imports.

The difference to me is that TC typically will stand in a keep/tower and shoot at you with arrowcarts, and from what I see the DB guilds will push out of a keep and fight you in front of it.

I’m not sure why some TC posters think they are in a position to push FA to tier 3.

That was already tried for 2 months straight without success and now with another strong contender here, you’ve got to watch your other flank.

Feel free to try, but you’re just hurting youself.

We’ve already proven that T2 is a good place for us. If you want a week without us, feel free to drop to tier 3 or jump to tier 1.

DB, like KN has come out strong in our first match-up. They are putting the pressure on both TC and FA and have taken a big lead. (they out man us both through the course of the day) with strong coverage in all the maps. ( plus not all of the guilds have transferred to DB yet, so we have not seen their full strength)
Very quickly DB has become the Goliath in T2.
It will take both servers to keep them in check. If not, they will have a quick and easy path to T1. (not to mention you will be stuck with us for another 8 weeks)
We have had our “issues” before TC and FA.

I don’t speak for all of FA, but I think it is safe to say that a majority of the sever will never “work with” TC for a long time. TC needs to man up and play WvWvW the way it should be.

Hopefully Kaineng will match up similarly in NA coverage so t3 doesn’t become another terrible slog. This transfer (and ones that will follow) really does make me sad to be losing a balanced match.

T2 is pretty well balanced right now – at the moment, any of the three servers there can and have won the week. Not entirely sure why you’d assumed Kaineng would be the one to drop. Could be any of the three. ;-)

I approached EA, KREW and asked my buddy who is fluent in Mandarin to have a talk with NNK. Don’t know how that is all the guilds on DB. Everyone in their right mind would have approached NNK (including FA). We had one conversation with EA on mumble, we barely talked to KREW (could only get in touch with Evalana from the official forums) and were not aware that she was not an officer/guild leader.

When we were in T3 for a week we worked on training and coverage. We were aware going back up to T2 Kaineng and both FA would have superior coverage to us (true if not for the WXP patch) so we approached a few DB guilds, particularly NNK to be able to compete with Kaineng and FA. We knew we were going back to T2 (our natural tier) and so didn’t believe that ‘talking’ to DB guilds would be considered cross-tier recruitment.

I also helped recruit KH from CD before paid transfers
I helped ZN make their decision to come to TC
I helped AWE, NAGA & ESF make the choice to come over to TC.
I posted on FIST’s forums when they were still on IoJ (before moving to FA).

FA can Q.Q about our recruitment all they want. It just means we invest time and resources into making our server better which FA probably feels they are too lazy to do. I know that IRSyko is like the only person who is constantly trying to improve FA; over here its a team effort. Please do not try to compare FA’s coverage gaps back in T3 with TC’s coverage gaps for ages in T2, everyone knows coverage gaps are exploited way more fiercely in T2 than in T3 and TC is the longest standing server in T2 (constantly coming last ) in the current match-up.

If you guys have any other claims/accusations to make or any queries/concerns related to my personal recruitment efforts you can go ahead and use my name, I don’t mind it at all; you don’t have to tiptoe around it.

So back to my questions. Who posted on RE’s forums? Who approached you recently FIST?

We got 3 guilds after 8 months of having a gaping coverage hole (and 4 of those months getting our maps washed green routinely everyday in T2 due to said hole) and suddenly we’re some evil bandwagon server who’s ruining WvW

WvW ranks are based on WvW population. FA started blowing Tier 3 out of the water after the IoJ transfers, it is no secret. Good luck in Tier 1, TC! Stable Tier 2 was fun while it lasted.

I think u misunderstood him here.HE has no problems to die and keep running in over and over again.
Here is the thing though: I logged in yesterday around 6pm pst and we had 65 ppt. well, of course we tried to ninja towers, get garri back and all that, but every time we would even touch a tower, a 45+ if not more zerg came to destroy us. We were around 15-20 people.Believe me, he was there and we kept trying for 2 hours + before I started getting frustrated.

8 people try to take bay gate down and gets steamrolled by almost 40 players. We finally get woodhaven back, the whole entire zerg runs there and doesn’t even need to keep up the rams, no they pvdoor!

The part that frustrated me is when I get steamrolled over and over by a giant zerg that outnumbers us clearly and then all you read in chat is laugh emotes. If the fights are somewhat more balanced like 20+ vs 30 the fight actually gets fun, but 1 giant blob vs a much much smaller number get frustrating after a few hours believe me!

I think, in EB, a couple of nights ago, we were siege-capped because our lovely spy has upgraded our inner lord room rams to catapults. So we had no choice but to PvDoor gates down or build golems.

Also, if I find my chatbox spammed up with emotes from an enemy group, I turn off emotes and just ignore it.

oh dear, i remember those times when we always had siege cap because a spy built tons of siege at hidden places. Really really low of people doing such stuff.I would not accuse u guys of only pvdooring.I used this as an example that has happened many times.

This, we have been facing for weeks now on EB. There are 2 or 3 people/bots that place all kind of crazy siege on NPC’s and all over the lord room in our keep and we hit the cap. If we’re to Pvdoor, we wouldn’t be placing point blank trebs at the southern towers apart from the rams (on Sunday, I believe?, well it was just for lolz though :P), we also used around 7-8 ballistae once (a few weeks back) to take down a tower door, purely ballistae, which we could use offensively as well as defensively.

This tier is currently the closest NA matchup in point-spread with less than 10k difference between 1st and 3rd. I’d say this tier is still the most competitive.

Yeah, someone mentioned this on my guild’s forum. I hadn’t looked over all of the other scores (since they don’t really interest me), just ours.

So yeah, big picture-wise, Kaineng is still hanging on, I guess, if only barely. The problem is, Kaineng HAS to have a strong weekend in order to win, and her coverage formula has been solved by both TC and FA. Any time we manage to get a PPT lead it is small and short lived (we lost about 60 or 70 PPT as I was writing those two sentences), whereas FA or TC can both pull down 250+ for most of the day fairly consistently.

I wonder what T2 will be like when Dragonbrand comes. I bet they’ll be pumped.

i was thinking more along the good old TC/CD/FA match ups which TC won but 100k points….. what i don’t get is why after saying they love this tier and match up so much, they are trying for tier 1 which pretty much broken the mighty Blackgate after 3 weeks, including 1 win, due to it toxic nature

I don’t think most of TC is interested in “pushing for T1” – what we are interested in is not having to play 12-16 hour shifts to make up for gaping Coverage gaps.

We’ve been looking for EU/Oceanic/SEA Guilds that would be a good match for our culture for over 6 months now, and we feel both excited and fortunate that it looks like we have found some.

I and many others on TC still hope that quality, classy NA Guilds will consider Kaineng to help shore up their coverage gaps too.

I can’t believe you guys would have tons and tons of people who play for 12-16 hours. People have careers and kids, I can’t think of a single FA player on my friends list who does anything like that. I played 12-16 hours for a week and got so sick and burnt out of the quit I stopped playing for weeks.

I have a suggestion, don’t do that. Go outside, spend time with your family/friends.

It’s a dangerous game this coverage game, it’s a black hole that can never be filled.

I have seen it happen all too often; players just want to golem rush a keep for the laughs or worst have a surplus of them from the JP and decide to splurge at a very inappropriate time.

My old guild got into the weird habit of trying to use them for almost every capture but just did not have the basic co-ordination of portals down.

I got to the point where just the mention of golem rush would make me log out for the time being or go do something else far far away.

The most important part of the golem rush is the full mesmer group moving them around. Without a coordinated mesmer group you have forum video fodder.

For all we know FA/TC/KN could lose a couple guilds in a month due to boredom/burnout and drop to T4, and that is ust where we belong. I’m sure if the population of a server was lower the fights would be ust as good

KN lost 1 group in NA (left gw2) … and are we actively looking to add some more players. We still have dozens of guilds yes, but actively recruiting is always going to be a part of keeping a community full.

I am not certain what it is like on FA, nor TC … but we know we have room for more players on NA timezone. Especially in PST timezone, its one of our gaps I’d like to fill. We have this high early on, but 9pm-1am … I rarely ever see queue pop. I’m just looking to fill in those shoes.

Why exactly would KA need to recruit much less need help from the 2 servers it has repeatedly won against? Is KA pushing for T1 or something and you are tring to help? Why not just transfer to KA yourself if that is the case?

KA has been in T2 for 8 weeks now and has come out 1st 5/8 times. So far I’m not seeing a problem. Of the 3 times they did not get 1st they came in 2nd, twice to BG before they moved back to T1 and once last week to TC. FA has yet to beet KA and has only come ahead of TC once in those 8 weeks.

I don’t get it. What’s the problem? I’m all for helping if there is a need, but I’m not seeing it.

Yes, those 10 man AoN roaming squads and 5 man PTX groups are the sole reason why FA is winning. Not to mention those 40 VK/RET who were on the server a week ago

FA is winning from TC burning itself out and KN not being there to provide a solid 3rd server.

Like I said earlier, chances are you will get your coveted and very important first place TC, sit there and relax and let the coverage do it’s work
