I have some unfortunate news for all those interested in the Dolyak Parade. Unfortunately, my main guild has decided to move house. So, there will be no dolyak parade this week. However, I will be producing a dolyak video that features the DB and FA players who I filmed over the last few days. I will certainly post it here, and after the shake up of servers this Friday, hopefully we will meet again and be able to have a grand parade.

No they’re fighting 1 server that has been decimated by transfers and another that they have gone way past in terms of population.

IMHO Mag has a T2/upper T3 population this week (based on prior experience). Whether that will change we’ll see.

What sort of queues are you getting in NA/European/Oceanic?

That guy isn’t from Maguuma. I haven’t hopped borderlands much, but I haven’t seen a queue since reset night. I know Eternal has had one, and some of the borderlands have one when there’s something important, but it’s not frequent.

To be fair, you can’t expect us to populate WvW when (nearly) all territory is our territory. What would we do? Spend all our time kneeling in front of Flame Ram or something?

Just saying that during NA prime FA seems to have 3.5-4 maps queued. They also appear to have a stronger European presence than on DB. At least 1.5 maps.

FA has had ques before when we are winning and the fairweathers come out of the fractals

Every freaking week either one team is destroying cause of transfers or is half dead cause everyone left lol. No offense to DB because you guys have been fun opponents, but this isnt a unbalanced matchup, the scores are close. Look at T2/T4/T5 http://mos.millenium.org/matchups#NA.

Those are unbalanced matchups. Can’t you guys ignore the scoreboard? We at FA have been doing it for the last 10 weeks as we secured 3rd place week after week in T3, and honestly a good portion of FA doesn’t care whether we win or lose. We fight in WvW for the amazing fights, not to claim internet glory to be the best of the tier. But to have amazing fights like in the video we put up earlier.

Imagine if FA had half it’s wvw pop and DB had about 2/3 of it’s current pop while CD had more than it does currently. CD had the pop to outzerg both FA and IoJ at the same time. All the while their forum warriors/trolls credited their winning fights by vastly outnumbering people to skill. CD as a top dog of a tier was insufferable to it’s opponents. There is a reason why the majority of the IoJ wvw pop that left went to FA. Not a single guild from IoJ that I know of went to CD. CD to tier 3 is kind of comparable to bullies and rich kids portrayed as main antagonists in 80s movies. Everybody hates them and it’s a real treat at the end to watch them go down in flames.

CD got no hate with FA, its the bandwagoning IOJ who practically trying to imbalance T3 that CD hate

Seems like CD has a large fairweather presnece. When you guys were winning everyone and their mother comes out to play. But when the pressure is on your forces are driven back to the fractals. Shouldn’t we all be embracing a closer a matchup?

This seems as good a place as any to ask some questions, so I’ll go for it. I represent No Dice [DICE] a PvX guild, with strong emphasis on WvW. We’ve been SBI since launch, but we’re considering switching before the free xfers end on the 28th. Fort Aspenwood is one of the servers on our radar and I was just wondering if someone on this thread would mind answering a few questions I had about the WvW community.

Just some info on us. We are a 150+ guild, with some extremely competitive pvpers. We were one of the guilds that helped get SBI to tier 1 and stay there for as long as we did. Mostly, we’re looking for a stable, competitive server. We don’t want the top tier drama or queues. We’re looking for a friendly, competent, and mostly organized community.

I just got one to crit for 3k on my p/t/v warrior. I don’t have glass cannon gear to test, but I’m sure I could get it higher. The real power of these things is not their damage, but their ability to be used from the top of a wall. If you have a stack of these and someone is trying to ram a wall you can just spam them on the rams.

It’s been an amazing matchup so far and IoJ is a much better T3 opponent. It’s good to come on the forums and not see a bunch of forum warriors at each others throat.

The current T3 matchup is nailbitingly close and it doesn’t appear any of us will be going anywhere for awhile

I apped to Unlimited about 1 month ago, after watching this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_pCuAhZ3Zc0 and ever since then I have experienced WvW on a whole new level.

How ULTD operates as a guild in WvW is downright insane. The amount of precision, and coordination that was happening with ULTD my first night in the BL with them as a trial member was frightening. They left a sea of death and destruction whenever they would clash with an enemy force, typically outnumbering them. Flanking, portal chaining, these guys did it all. Every single move they made on the battlefield was thought out, and with purpose. I couldn’t help but chuckle and laugh as they were running around just decimating the opposition. I knew I had found a new home.

What is also nice, is the fact that I have never met a more fun group of people to game with. Teamspeak is full of laughs, jokes, and all around good times. There is a real sense of friendship, brotherhood, and comradery. Many of the members know each other on a first name basis. They are extremely humble as well, they don’t condone any kind of forum trolling, or trash talking.

ULTD has been a breath of fresh air in MMO Guilds I have been in through the times. Zero form of drama, negativity, everybody has a sense of belonging. The leadership is solid, and makes excellent decisions.

I look forward to spending a lot of time with ULTD for the rest of my gaming career.

Really looking forward to play against TC again. I remember them as some die hard players that always came out with twice the numbers when you wiped em, instead of leaving the map.

With the Euro transfers Fort Aspenwood got some weeks ago it surprised me that TC was able to keep first place, and it just goes to show how strong they are.

We got 1 guild of about 20 or so EU. And since they have transferred I haven’t been seeing much of them at all the past few weeks, and when they first got here they would field maybe 5 or 6 guys, granted I don’t play EU primetime.

Either way TC is a great server with some sound guilds and tactics, as well as some pretty good coverage and a lot of numbers.

I wish them the best of luck in T2 and look forward to IoJ being in T3

TC never has 4 map queues except on reset night. And even that is a 5-10 minute queue other than for EBG.

The only other time we ever had 4 (really 3, since our own BL was locked down) map queues outside of reset night was when the Dolyak event got sabotaged and TC went all jihad on FA.

As for whoever thought we are a strong oceanic/Asian server…no. We are usually outmanned during that time period. I think we are either the weakest or close to the weakest among the T3 servers in that time period.

Don’t let them fool you, TC has alot stronger overnight presence then they give themselves credit for, sitting at between +250 to +400 PPT late late into the night and early morning

Hire moving off was a far greater hit to the server than the event. There are players on SoR and BG doing the event as well so I don’t think that was much of a factor.

Your new T3 matchup should be relatively even but that’s not to say it’s going to be a fun matchup for any of you guys. Last I knew Fort Aspenwood was primarily European, Crystal Desert was primarily American, and Isle of Janthir was primarily Asian/Oceanic. So while the scores will stay close there will not be very much quality fighting in this matchup, a lot of PvDoor would be my guess.

Hope I am wrong and it’s a great matchup for you guys tho. Good luck IoJ! Was a blast in T2 these last 2 months.

@Lanimal (for why TC is better) – Overall you are right. FA has become basically a wasteland of tactics and zerging. We act more like a pack of dogs then a army in general. That being said I have seen TC do some very stupid very horrible things (on a large scale), so your not that amazing yet. Winning so many weeks in a row certianly helps TC in moral/numbers and attracting talent.

From what I am seeing out of FA I have to say the server seems to be dieing. More and more people are no longer showing up, our tactics basically drop a level every week. 50% of the people seem to be interested in open world 5v5 or similar pvp matches and no objectives whatsoever, the other 50% are just looking to zerg something, anything. We almost never pick up our downed players. We have gotten even worse about defending/upgrading. Or when we do defend, we tend to defend the worst defensible keeps/towers. We take objectives for no strategic purpose whatsoever, and never stick around to hold them. We don’t seem to know what a treb is. We have basically no communication whatsoever and our major guilds are so insular they almost cant work with other people. We even have started auto attacking gates on large scale again. We need to go back to basics and start over again because we are not going in the right direction FA.

The FA recruitment thread just confirmed OBEY moved to FA. It also stated they are primarily a PvE guild, and from the numbers I’m hearing very few of them do WvW.

If you’re a primarily PvE guild than why even bother forcing 700+ members to switch servers? Seems pretty pointless.

Oh well though, it only hurts FA if that is true. More pver’s = less potential wvwers.

Just talked to the guild leader of OBEY. Can confirm they are in the process of moving thier members to FA. He said they are a PvE focused guild but does WvW at times. they usually field between 20 to 30 in WvW.

In all honesty I think FA could use a guild or 2 to strengthen NA prime-time as well. Some nights we do really well, and other nights we don’t because major guilds aren’t running campaigns and what have you. Any players or guilds regardless of time period shoot me a PM and I can help ease you into the process, talk in TS, suggest guilds for potential transfers etc etc. basically anything I can do to help. I am PTX’ Unoffical WvW Guild liaison of sorts, so don’t be afraid to send me a PM or tell

Either way I am so so proud of the strives we as a server has made the past few weeks. FA is really shaping up to be a strong heavy hitting server and I am so proud to have been apart of it since the start. Great work to the guilds fighting tooth and nail on FA to put points on the board and keep our name out there.

Awesome fights today, Was really awesome to retake SMC earlier as well and hang onto it.
