I totally think this should happen. It will even lessen the load on the Heart of the Mists. I would go a step further and say that each race gets to travel free as well to their own home capital to help populate some of those towns a little more and make them more lively.

I would think it’s something more akin to a base stat of MF=.5% or less. If you stack armor bonuses and food bonuses, you get a bump but it’s still misniscule enough that it won’t affect the economy. When I say economy, I mean the real economy of gold to gems. ArenaNet is concerned most with the gem shop and that is affected by the BLTC. They won’t let the BLTC affect the gem shop dramatically. The gem shop represents their income. Without them having a sustainable income, we don’t have a game. I don’t need to say it, but that can’t be allowed to happen.

I agree with the Trahearne part as an Asura. What in the game is supposed to make me care about this individual? His entrance and importance feels disjointed. I found it off putting that the Ausra story starts off so funny, and then after about level 40 gets really serious and loses any humor it once had. It strays into the melodramatic. I just want to make one thing clear though: The humor in the first 40 levels or so is hilarious and exactly fits Asura from GW1. It’s classic. It’s too bad that thread couldn’t be kept.

I did however stop playing my story for my Sylvari at level 6. The dialog is spoken as if it’s read off a page. By that I mean, the dialog that was written, doesn’t seem written for a voice actor, but written like a book. Almost like if a playwright directs a movie for stage actors acting as if they are on a stage. It’s a style thing. Actors on a stage have a different sort of acting where they project on a stage as opposed to portraying a real life scenario like in a movie. The writing is different and when you mix the two mediums and it feels odd when you see it.

@ OP: I got the tier 1 Ebonhawke Longbow. I hope you got the tier 1 version as it is the same skin. I was bummed too, because there is a vendor that sells some of these skins with different names for karma too. Great sword though.

You want a vanity skin on two weapons, you pay the vanity price for both weapons. If we give vanity skins for one handers at half/three-quarter price, where do you stop? Why does an elementalist get to reskin every piece of their gear for cheaper than a ranger? Why don’t one handed legendary weapons take half, or three quarters of the work that two-handed legendary weapons take? Why do people who don’t show their headgear not have to buy matching headgear? Sounds crazy to me.

i know on my ranger my swap set is sword/warhorn for when i am in parties. i actually agree with the OP. dagger/dagger or pistol/pistol shouldn’t cost 2x the amount of karma over a 2 hander. heck, anet could just make the 2 handers cost more karma. it would be fine that way for me. i just think there should be a difference in price.

Agreed. As a side note, I had 2 sets of Master Harvesting tools. 1 set worked on high end mats and the other did not. There wasn’t anything different in the description. I got them in two different story line quests. Wish I could tell you which set was from which quest, but alas I can not.

another reason we need 1st person camera mode is that I dont want upskirt panty shots of my female characters whilst swimming. it makes me feel icky.

had a similar prob with this with my guild on a Sorrow’s Furnace Story Mode run. 4 of us were traited for condition damage. The whole dungeon went fine except for one golem that could pull conditions off all the time. We did this a few weeks ago when we were still under the impression that you could take a team of skilled players and run whatever you want. We did, and that one boss was a total pain in a dungeon that was otherwise a walk in the park. I am glad Jon thinks it needs fixing because I couldn’t agree more.

I totally agree with this. It’s an added layer of protection. I have always wanted to have something like this in a game. For a company that says they care the most about player account security, this would go a long way in putting words into action.

no thanks. dynamic scaling makes all areas worth something and makes it worth it to me to help people out that are in my guild and are at lower levels. i don’t want to go back to MMO’s where areas become obsolete. I like that I get XP, can help out, etc.

so again, no thanks. there are myriad games that have it that way. this game is different and it’s a breath of fresh air.
