I just have alts and all of them have two different crafting professions. This makes leveling them up a lot faster, too.

Back at the Halloween it still had the monthly survivor and salvage kit uses at start, which was later replaced with ???. It sure looked like it glitched at first. :P

I had all the areas explored before the Southsun Cove and Fractals patch, so the new explorable areas and jumping puzzles doesn’t count.

How I did it was that I always checked if the zone I had completed 100% was square/rectangle shaped, usually if there was some fog in the corners, it meant there’s jumping puzzle or something similar hidden beneath it.

If you put four lvl 70-80 greens into the Mystic Forge, you have a pretty good chance at getting a yellow out of it. You can then turn around and sell that yellow on the tp or salvage it for ectos.

I know it doesn’t answer your question directly, but it certainly increases the value of greens from drops like this

Although I roughly have 20% chance of getting a rare item. I dunno the actual amount of items in the pool of 4 green items tossed in to the forge, but most of the items seem to have 80% chance to get the same rarity item and 20% to rank up the rarity.

The thing is there’s three chests at the end, each giving better loot as you find more orbs to open them. Since I know where the orbs are, opening them all will take around ~5 minutes and mostly they drop greens. Normally JPs in LA and such only drop blue stuff for me.

All the chests have the generic round Orr skin, so I can’t tell if the last chest is supposed to be the same and giving as good loot as, for example, the chest in the end of Eternal Battlegrounds JP. The last chest is bigger than the rest, though.

Are they any good? I was thinking of doing it daily, but so far I’ve gotten mostly green level 77-80 items.

I’ve heard some people have gotten exotics/pre-cursors out from the last chest, but dunno about that.

I love the amount of invisible walls. Specially when you can just walk out of the borders of the map in many places.

And because of this I can’t find and cool dark purple daggers in the game for my thief. ]:
The Moonshank dyed dark purple or black would be awesome.

Do the recipe for one clover. I got around 15 from my first ~40 tries.

I didn’t even notice it has this reset like the monthly survivor had back then. It takes roughly 30-60 minutes to get this without boosters by doing events in level 80 areas.

So looks like you are aware of at least one case (a dozen cases, in fact) where the name of the item does have something to do with where it drops.

So, unless you know where Final Rest drops, why assume it would follow the same pattern as exotics obtainable from the Mystic Forge, instead of the pattern followed by exotics that can only be found as drops? Especially when a developer has already said that it is not craftable?

Because the Final Rest is a staff, the others are trinkets. If I remember right, the boss trinket/trinket recipe drops were added in the FotM/Cove patch at the same time with ascended trinkets.

That’s true, but so far (as far as I know) only trinkets and their crafting recepies are dropped from certain (dungeon?) bosses.

I doubt it. Anet doesn’t want to use real-world references when naming things. Ascalon City in GW 1 was called Kyhlo at first, but it was renamed because some translations sounded like Cairo. Now Kyhlo is the fortress, though, but I guess it’s OK for them since it’s not a city like Cairo. :P

I’m quite sure it is either bugged or not added to the game yet. Even if the mod said it, it’s been quite a long time for now that someone must’ve gotten one.

The name of the exotic doesn’t have anything to do with where it drops. Big chest is big chest, which means you get it from dragon lieutenants, Eternal Battleground’s JP or any other chest which looks like the same. Otherwise we would only get Dawn when we loot the chests on the morning or Spark when you ignite yourself on fire while opening the chest.

Also, the chances getting any named exotic from a chest or mob is as high as getting pre-cursors. Judging by the amount we have at the moment, I say the Final Rest is not attainable at the moment.

I never quite understood why the “pale tree is an elder dragon” theory was popular, since it sounded so ridiculous… To me it was like saying Queen Jennah is Zhaitan’s undead mesmer agent.

I don’t think Nightmare Court are knowingly Mordremoth’s minions, I think it’s able to manipulate plants to do what it wants. NC are probably minding their own sadistic business and Mordremoth saw an opportunity to corrupt them even more. Maybe once the ED is finally revealed, Nightmare court go nuts and join his ranks… or something.

In the bottom level of Rata Sum there are this asura dancing and other asuras cheering around him while this simple beat plays on the back ground. You can only hear it if you stand on the same platform as they do or at least very close to it.

I bind the key to C, where it was at GW 1. It seems to be extremely broken however: it usually targets completely random enemy or even cancels the targeting if I’ve already chosen a wrong target and hit C to choose the closest one.

I admit it sometimes works normally, but most of the time it chooses enemy far away when there’s much closer enemies available. I usually use it to AoE clump of enemies and it doesn’t matter which enemy I choose if I’m using a greatsword. Usually I hit C and immediately use an attack. Sometimes it chooses random enemy out of range and if I happen to use some charge attack I just fly trough the mobs and aggro even more. This is so much fun in Orr.

what colors did you use? I’m guessing abyss, midnight fuschia, but can’t tell the greenish you used on your top.

I used midnight ice for the black parts, midnight purple and pitch dye for the others.

Unfortunately, they recently changed ruined this by turning transmuted items soulbound instead of account bound.

Nah, when I transmuted the item again on my thief, it still said “soulbound”. I thought that I’ll just double click it anyways and it equipped the shoulder part normally.

It didn’t feel like a grind at all for me when I crafted my gift of mastery. I barely farmed in Orr, maybe total of 2 hours. I always collected around 20+ jugs, used them with boosters and farmed the remaining booster time in Orr.

I’m spending my fractal tokens to something else than Obby shards. :P

Aye yep. Tried to solo the champion. Didn’t end well. On more than one occasion I also managed to dodge off the island. lol. Was able to fend it off with my pet, well Fiend, long enough to check out the chest but still determined to try and solo the Champion.

I prefer using shadow refuge and yoinking the chest behind the boss. :P

My guildie got Dusk and Colossus, although I’m glad that he was going for Twilight and that he’s been farming in Orr for quite a long time.

I have over 700+ hours and I’m going for some legendary, maybe Twilight (surprise surprise), but it doesn’t mean that I should get 2 precursors. :P

But random trial people getting two precursors, I admit it feels like a kick to the nuts, Specially when I just got random “junk” worth of total maybe ~3g after two chest lootings.

O’ well, I’ve never been lucky with these kind of stuff.

I looted the chest twice. On my second alt I didn’t manage to do much, only ran from the Lion WP to the chest pretty much while killing like five Karka.

Of course I was going to test out if I can run the event multiple times on different characters. If I end up on a overflow with the event almost over, it’s not like I’m going to change the overflow at that point.

All this crying is like saying running a dungeon’s all three paths for one character and then running three paths again with alt would be bannable exploit. The chest was character bound, not account bound. If they didn’t want us to open it multiple times, it would’ve been account bound.

SundayTrash just seems to think it was pre-cursor factory with 150% drop rate and he didn’t get his Dusk so everyone else should be banned. Most of the people got stuff worth ~2g total, like me.

Although the event itself was awesome. :P

Some people seem to forget what this does to precursor prices. Instead of being as high as 300G, they might drop well under 100G now.

…Aaand my guildie got both Colossus and Dusk out from the chest. I managed to loot it twice, but didn’t get anything worth to mention.

It was frustrating at first (falling trough the forming platforms on the end), but I made it on my… maybe 5th try? It was fun. :P

Did you guys notice it continues to the small green island? There’s a champion boss and a small chest in there, too. Although you get no achievement from it in case you missed it.

They’re much more like the dungeons in GW1. If your whole team wipes, you spawn in the latest resurrection shrine aka. checkpoint you’ve come across.

The difficulty is just fine. And for people wondering about the regening enemies – they lose their armored shell and get back to 100% health. After this they take a lot more damage.

It was quite a long fight in the top of the hive to kill the Karka Champion and Karka Veteran right next to eachother. :P

Hall of Monuments reward medium armor chest. It’s basically skin which you use to transmute stuff.

Getting one craft from 0-400 gives around 10 levels.

Outmanned doesn’t affect. Karma banner and +50% booster does however. Tested it with my jugs (with outmanned + banner + booster) and didn’t get the +33%.

Usually happens to me if there’s enemies above or below me on different platform and I kill every enemy near me. Some vistas in dredge caves were pain to get because once I dispatched them and usually some veteran mob, too, my combat mode just wouldn’t go off.

My character wearing the helm is sylvari with black + red colored skin and glow and red eyes.

I guess the character on the screenie is human if I remember correctly. I think you can see a bit of his throat on the picture.

I’ve already forgotten there even were this nickname option. I just remember everyone from the in-game names or from the account name.

I went from level 19 to level 30 (almost 31) when I maxed my cooking from 0 to 400.

I didn’t use any crafting buffs or anything. I don’t really know how I did it if it’s supposed to only give a bit over 9 levels. :P

I do not agree that the Soldier set attributes are the best in every case. There are many professions, different builds, different playstyles (one player RPs in the city, another one plays TA dungeon only, another one WvW in small group, another one plays zergs only). Find out the combination that works best for you.

I seriously doubt people RPing on the city need any stats what so ever.

Ya, same here. Extremely annoying when you’re at jumping puzzle’s last leap and guess what happens…

Before it was rare thing to happen to me, now I experience it around three times per hour at least.

Hmmm… A bit like when this Priory dude started planking.

It’s because if you attack the enemy from where the enemy theoretically couldn’t attack you back, you’ll just get the “invulnerable” text instead.

This is annoying when your character goes rambo and auto attacks everything without clicking or commanding it to, the enemies will be invulnerable for like 10 seconds.

If only this would’ve been the only time I don’t get event rewards for capturing something in WvW… this was the worst one of all.

No achievement point, no karma, no exp, no nothing after 3 hours of siege. Half of my party got nothing, neither. Meanwhile some guy at the ogre camp got golden participation.

I think there were some makeover + extreme makeover items in some GW2 data files or something. Double click to use, the item is used when you accept changes. Bought from gemstore I guess, similiar to GW 1 makeover kits.

And no, they’re not in the game yet and I don’t remember where I read about them, might’ve been in the guru.

My guess would be Lyss + Ilya + 10 Philosopher’s stones + 5 piles of crystalline dust, like when crafting Eternity.

Seriously, that would be awesome. Make it on the middle section (on the picture below), so there’s no way to jump out of bounds because two of the gates would require you to leap way too long distances.

I have had my Nightmare Helm from TA for a while and I wonder how people change the eye color of the helmet. I’ve seen red, dark blue and dark purple colors on players, although no matter what dyes I use the eyes on my helmet remain gray.

I asked this one player and he only replied “use black cherry”. Well, I dyed the whole helmet with black cherry and the eyes were gray, rest of the helmet red.

Am I missing one dye spot from the helm? I have three on it at the moment.
