Sorry, but no. Stability is not 100% uptime on a big zerg and it’s perfectly possible to deal with it.
While ArenaNet has made many silly design decisions (5 target limit), the blob is not impossible to break if you play against it properly.

Thanks to the AR folks that I had some fights with yesterday afternoon! Made for a fun little video:
I must say something about yesterday GvG. It was amazing to see people from all three servers just standing side by side watching the skirmishes.
wth, when did this all happen?
Shortly after midnight CET yesterday. You can find the fights here
What he said. Some amazing fights, siN are great guys. Cyril will be making a video too.
http://www.youtube.com/user/IntigoGW2
Not as good as Anonymous Defenders vids. Keep it up though
If you explained why it would be alot more helpful
here’s my explanation:
your fighting skills are top notch, nothing to criticize there. AD has more entertaining videos with teamfighting and their teamspeak chatter in the vids adds to it. Also they edit their video to be in-sync with their music. they also show when they finally get wiped by the zergs they are fighting. your video lacks transition to the next fights happening. its like one long marathon with techno beats running in the background. it’s not as entertaining, but the player skills on display are excellent.
I can let you in on a secret, the only communication that was used in these videos was in party chat. No teamspeak or anything
That explains a lot.

Read the thread just below you for Daggers? :p
I use Destroyer Dagger, Corrupted Shard and the T3 Asura (Peacemaker). Red, Blue and Purple glow.

Eh, you’re US, so by definition you’re playing on a lower level than real WvW players.

Quickness + Golems.
You do not have to build Golems fast, you have anytime you want for building them.
You only need to transport them fast, i.e. with a mesmer portal line.
What’s the max-capacity of a mesmer portal now? 30 Golems, right?
20.

Sorry…..was trying to type and fight in WvW….but you get the idea. It changed from endurance slow to skills slow. And no, it was not always that way.
No one else has noticed this change because it was always this way.
Chilled has always effected cooldowns, Weakness is the condition that reduces endurance regen and always has.
Ding, ding, ding.
And D/D still has http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Lightning_Touch for that.
http://www.youtube.com/user/IntigoGW2
Chill has been this way for a long time. Frozen Burst has always applied Chill.
Why would the Chill from Frozen Burst be different from all the other Chill effects in the game?
http://www.youtube.com/user/IntigoGW2
Currently 2h is not the best choice for PvP. Dagger/Dagger is.
That’s a pretty silly thing to say. Be a bit more specific and it might be true:
“Staff is not the best choice for solo PvP, D/D is usually better.”
Staff Elementalist is an amazing group WvW class. The Water Fields you drop are very strong when utilized by a competent group.
http://www.youtube.com/user/IntigoGW2
The Chill is in Water, not Air. There is no “chill” effect in Air.
It has always worked this way.
http://www.youtube.com/user/IntigoGW2
Powerful auras is amazing, look at the synergy.
Also D/D is 30 water very often. Staff has 2 auras and you can always use arcane wave
staff has only 1 aura. Problem is, the aura I’d most want to share, IS the one on staff, however, then you have a major trait, a 30 point one at that, for 1 skill. I suppose the fire shield for 3s on using a signet but that one doesn’t seem worthwhile.
If the trait worked with the aura on res, or auras on combo, it’d be amazing, but it doesn’t.
I guess cleansing water for staff, instead of cleansing wave (attuning to water when arcane specced applies regen, so it’d be redundant to have both)
It works with the Staff Frost combo.
http://www.youtube.com/user/IntigoGW2
I really think this is an “weak” aura… doesn’t worth to be a Water Grandmaster trait… if this at least increase water attuntment spell damage or increase healing power… (or add anything bonus, like longer chill duration…) I’d say it would be fine.
Powerful Auras + Zephyr’s Boon + D/D + Boon Duration = incredible trait.
You are far too narrow-minded.
I’ve been running Powerful Auras for my WvW guild groups for ages and it’s incredibly awesome to play.

Personally switched out signet of restoration for Ether Renewal and dropped my cleric’s rings and amulet for knight’s rings and berserker amulet so I have more punch, while I do miss the massive amount of passive healing I think is a step in the right direction requiring more attention and finesse to use correctly.
See, this guy is smart~
Many people gear way too defensively and use Signet.

Phantaram’s 20Air/20Water/30Arcana S/D build is a good place to start: http://gw2skills.net/editor/en/?fEIQJArYhImOblR5gjDAEFmoiQRFOUeMTM1A;ToAA0CnoqxUjoGbNuak1MsYSA

Elementalists have 3 of the most balanced heals across the different classes. They all have a purpose and are strong in their own way.
Personally, I am a staunch supporter of Ether Renewal. You can’t have too much condition removal and the CD alone makes it one of the most powerful heals. The only true downside is the fact that you are extremely vulnerable to interrupts which means you need to be very smart about when and how you use it. Ether Renewal is tough to use correctly and requires you to be aware of what skills other classes have that could potentially interrupt it.
Signet of Restoration is good. It provides so much passive healing coupled with Water traits (the passive over time heal and the instant heal) + Regeneration simply from attuning. It does a great job of mitigating fairly medium damage and will serve you well if that’s what you intend to do. I do not like it as I feel it forces me too much into kiting, loses efficiency from no healing gear (which I also am against for WvW usage) and simply does not hold up in 1on1’s or 1vX’s versus very strong damage builds. Others swear by it and cite daphoenix and his D/D guide, opinions differ.
As for GoEH, it’s a good overall heal – remember that you can switch attunement while it’s mid-cast so it’s quite easy to ensure that you cast it in Water most of the time. I still rank it above the Signet. The fact that GoEH being interrupted simply puts it on a 2-3s CD means it’s easier to use than Ether Renewal where an interrupt can truly screw you over.
That’s a quick opinion of the 3 heals we have. Try them all and make up your mind on what you prefer. I went GoEH into Ether Renewal as I got more comfortable with it (and they buffed the cooldown to 15s).

RTL fires every weapon swap sigils.
You’re right, worked for Battle too without any issues when I tested real quick. I guess the reason I never noticed before is that usually RtL is fired off 1-2s after swapping to Air which means it will most likely trigger on the attunement to Air or simply still be on cooldown by the time I use RtL.
http://www.youtube.com/user/IntigoGW2
I use Superior Bloodlust on MH and Superior Battle on OH and neither of them have ever failed to proc for me. I’m also convinced that if I switched my MH and OH (they’re both daggers) both sigils would continue to work.
You’re right. Your combo is good, but you should pick up a 3rd Sigil for when you reach 25 Stacks. Force is a simple and good choice for solo/small group work, Restoration is great for big group stuff.
Would Restoration on MH work with Battle on OH. I know they both proc on weapon swap (attunement swap), so would that be a problem?
I guess I can always just go to Heart of the Mists and try it out for free. Anyway, I will probably go with Force if I end up doing that; I already have plenty of healing and survivability.
It almost seems more trouble than its worth though, because your stacks will reset if you get downed, and then you’ll have to wait until you’re out of combat to switch back to your Bloodlust dagger. And you’ll have to actually remember to change weapons when you reach 25 stacks/when your stacks reset.
It’s definitely a good idea, and the extra 5% damage will help if you’re really trying to maximize your potential. And if you find yourself consistently sitting at 25 stacks of Bloodlust because you never get downed, then by all means go for it.
Anyway, I suppose it’s just something I will have to consider. Thank you for giving me something to think on (it’s nothing I didn’t already know, but I had previously dismissed it and hadn’t thought about it in months — so thanks for the reminder).
Restoration is Heal on Kill, nothing to do with Swap. It’s good in big group stuff because you’re constantly healed when you’re getting kills.
I know it’s a bit of micromanagement, but when you’re used to it, it comes very naturally to you. I’ve got some 5 Daggers, 2 Scepters, 2 Staffs and 1 Focus in my inventory with different Sigils on for various occasions.
http://www.youtube.com/user/IntigoGW2
I’ve had plenty of great duels on EU.
http://www.youtube.com/user/IntigoGW2
Was probably the most action I’ve ever had in a single evening of WvW. You KAZ folks are a solid bunch.

So sigil of battle doesn’t work in OH
Wrong as can be.
http://www.youtube.com/user/IntigoGW2
I agree with using Renewing Stamina, it’s a very good trait.
I don’t see why you get Stone Flesh (5 Earth) since it doesn’t work with Lingering Elements – it will almost never be up. I’d much rather get another Water trait or pick up Weak Spot.
Glyph of Renewal blows. Pick up Arcane Wave, another reliable Blast finisher. Or you can pick up Glyph of Elemental Power because it combos quite strongly with Meteor Shower or similar.
I don’t see why you use Lightning Flash over Mist Form (or just get rid of both altogether and you can have 2 Glyph + Arcane Wave).
Otherwise, good stuff.
http://www.youtube.com/user/IntigoGW2
Your linked build doesn’t have the traits or Sigils you mention in your post.
Build you’ve linked: http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/?fEAQFAWhImibwR5gjDAkHnYCLjChUeMzO2A;TkAA1Cto6y0loLrXOvkeN+A
http://www.youtube.com/user/IntigoGW2
That’s a pretty good build, you picked the right traits and all, but when it comes down to it, Fire is a pretty bad trait line. The traits are lacking and ‘pigeon-holing’ you into staying in Fire which is never a good idea for an Elementalist.
“But 10% more damage on Meteor Shower” doesn’t really work as an argument when the majority of time that your Meteor Shower deals damage you are not even attuned to Fire.
Your build has the necessities (20+ Arcana/Water and correct traits) so it will work, but I would still say that a heavier Water/Arcana investment makes for a stronger Elementalist overall. If you are only playing solo in the zerg then the lower Meteor Shower cooldown is great and I think the build is fine.
Food for thought though, think about how many Boons you apply to yourself and realize how strong the 25 Minor Water trait is.
http://www.youtube.com/user/IntigoGW2
That’s kinda silly. So since they removed the ability to cast during RtL it now puts you into some sort of ‘pseudo-attunement’ which might trigger on-swap Sigils? I don’t remember seeing this with Battle Sigil, but I might just not have paid attention + if I’m using RtL during combat then I probably just swapped to Air beforehand which would trigger the cooldown.
Silly bug, anyway. You reported it ingame, yeah?
I love that you can change attunement in Mist Form now, but it’s still a little bit buggy. For instance, you don’t get a Bloodlust-charge from a stomp if you are in Mist Form during the stomp. It makes you immune to both hostile and defensive effects, apparently. Same thing with the bonus from III Water, it will not trigger if you use a Cantrip during Mist Form (use Mist Form then use Armor of Earth and you’ll see that your Regen / Vigor does not refresh).
Quite a few bugs to be taken care of still, but none quite as crippling as Magnetic Leap rooting you in place.
http://www.youtube.com/user/IntigoGW2
Gonna roam solo for an hour-2ish. If anyone wants some 1on1s, /w Intigo. I would love to fight some other solo roamers since it’s rare that you get tough 1on1 fights. Anything but mirror matchups or super-defensive builds are fun.
Otherwise, PM me on here and we can set something up tomorrow afternoon-evening before RG starts our roaming.
Hope 2013 will bring as many awesome fights as 2012 did o/

Fire is worthless. Make Fire less worthless, please.
http://www.youtube.com/user/IntigoGW2
Grenth is one of them and people tend to do that event just because it’s profitable. You don’t need Balthazar for the PVT Armor.
Check here: http://dulfy.net/2012/09/08/gw2-templegod-karma-armor-sets/
Grenth and Melandru are usually done on my server.
Test to see whether Arcana VI is worth it for you. I think you should get some Precision/Crit Dmg no matter what, your gear should be fairly balanced.
http://www.youtube.com/user/IntigoGW2
This is much better than the trial. The trial only helped zergs which already get a ton of help from your questionable game mechanics.
http://www.youtube.com/user/IntigoGW2
Gearwise: Both will work fine when you’re just doing PvE. You don’t need Toughness that badly in a PvE set seeing as you’re rarely tanking damage specifically. Also, remember you can easily get PVT Armor (except Leggings) from the Temple merchants in Orr for 42k Karma each.
Use VI in Arcana over VII. You get perma-Vigor from it if you have decent crit chance which translates into better Endurance gain than the VII trait. I don’t agree with the Water traits or you not having Arcane Wave (Might stacks!), but that’s for you to decide.
http://www.youtube.com/user/IntigoGW2
Oh, you don’t have 10 Air, ehh…okay! That’s an interesting build choice, but hey.
http://www.youtube.com/user/IntigoGW2
I’m using a build I saw mentioned in daphoenix’s thread.
dagger/dagger cantrip build
0/10/10/20/30
Gear choices: PTV armor and weapons, clerics jewelry, 6/6 superior rune of the dolyak, superior sigil of energy, superior sigil of swiftnessHuge survivability that is borderline OP in WvW. I have skirmished and kited groups of 8-10 players to split up an enemy zerg’s focus. You pretty much never have to die unless you choose to.
The 6/6 Dolyak bonus is horrendous. Monk / Water / Altruism / Divinity are all far superior. You lose too much going 6/6 Dolyak.
http://www.youtube.com/user/IntigoGW2
Here’s my general suggestion (copy-paste):
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fEAQJArYhImkblR9gjCAkHvYCLlHzkjNA;TYAquMeJ8y11ogpIA
Put the last 10 points however you want. If you assume you’re going to be grouping with people that apply Bleeds then IV in Earth is fine, but don’t stand around auto-attacking in Earth to keep those Bleeds rolling. Remember, the most efficient Elementalist is the one that swaps attunements often.
Arcane Wave is too good to pass up (blast in Fire fields to keep your party topped up on Might stacks – dodge roll into them in Earth attunement as well) and Mist Form is an excellent “oh shii—-” ability. Frost Bow has an excellent AoE ability and the last slot is honestly not that important. I use Lightning Flash because I’m used to it and I love Churning bombs, but it’s up to you.
The problem with going 30 Water is that most of the traits are pretty bad for a S/D build PvE-wise. You have V + XI which are really good and then you have Water cooldown which is pretty bad since the Scepter Water skills are pretty bad (although Shatterstone has some merit in PvE, I guess). The issue with not going 30 Water is that the 25 Water trait is actually pretty good for dealing damage since you have a large number of Boons on you normally. I just kept it at 30 Water since you wanted to be supportive, but keep in mind that the Scepter Water skills are terrible and therefore the Water CD trait is somewhat wasted. In WvW / PvP you would use 2 or more Cantrips and therefore get III.
Now, NYE time o/

2 molten daggers P/V/C. they have sigil with enderance regain and aoe fire pro
Which Endurance regain Sigil are you talking about? Energy and Fire Sigils will cause cooldowns on each other. Stamina works, but that’s a pretty terrible Sigil for solo work.
http://www.youtube.com/user/IntigoGW2
Use your Auras, they are instant cast for a reason. It grinds my gears so much to see that. You’re losing out on a ton of utility and Fury.
http://www.youtube.com/user/IntigoGW2
As for battle and fire sharing a cooldown, I think the wiki is misleadingly worded. I run both, and with fire in offhand (according to the wiki, it should never proc) the flame blast procs regularly and I get stacks of might every 9 sec on weapon swap.
From what I understand, and what appears to happen in practice, sigil cooldowns are shared within type but not global to all sigils. Thus, two “on weapon swap” sigils would share a cooldown but an “on crit” sigil wouldn’t share the same cooldown with an “on weapon swap”.
This is just from observation, however, I have not run a timed test or anything.
http://www.youtube.com/user/IntigoGW2
Battle & Fire is a no-go. Battle & Force is a good combo (and what I use as well for solo work, using Restoration over Force for guild WvW).
Cleric accessories are for people who want to spend all their time kiting or use the Signet. Man up and use Invader’s / Knight’s / similar with Berserker Jewels.
The reason you should have crit damage in your accessories’ upgrade slots is because you lose fewer stats doing so: http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/12dmi5/tip_stat_optimization_with_crit_damage/
I am not a fan of Cleric + Signet heal, but some enjoy it.
http://www.youtube.com/user/IntigoGW2
Desolation was all about RUIN, after they left you break apart. Now you are in tier 2 cos of KAZ guild, after they left your server you will go back to t4. Well i don’t wanna be unfair, you have IRON guild but one guild can’t carry whole server. So don’t speak me about awesome server with awesome spirit.
Such a silly thing to post. :’) Also incredibly wrong.

Pardon me, my reply wasn’t exactly ment to be taken super srsly and I don’t truly think he represents whole Blacktide as it is. I suppose there are no space for jokes in this particular forum :<
How dare you be facetious and attempt to use ‘humor’ in this forum?
If this were EVE I’d tell you that “internet spaceships are srs bsns”.
http://www.youtube.com/user/IntigoGW2
You’re level 20, don’t worry too much about getting the “best” gear. You’re using Agony, I would personally advise you to pick up Bloodlust Sigils for whatever weapons you end up getting as you go along. Stacking up one of the 25-Stack Sigils helps a lot with your damage output.
When I leveled 1 to 80 I just picked up gear from Heart vendors, primarily focused around offensive stats. It’s really not something you need to worry about now – explore, enjoy, this is when Guild Wars 2 is at its best.

4 superior runes of altruism
2 of monk or water
That Might bonus from Altruism actually looks pretty decent with Ether Renewal.
Oooh~
I still really like the 4/6 Boon Duration and 2/6 Divinity split, but that could be fun to try.
http://www.youtube.com/user/IntigoGW2
Dark Reavers != Blacktide.
http://www.youtube.com/user/IntigoGW2
For WvW, these are my suggestions.
Runes
4/6 Boon Duration (Superior Water and Superior Monk), last 2 can be Divinity or the 10% Boon Duration from Major Water / Major Monk.
Sigils
Solo/small scale: Double Bloodlust to 25 stacks, then Force + Battle.
Guild WvW / zergy WvW: Bloodlust + Restoration to 25 Stacks, then Restoration + Battle.
http://www.youtube.com/user/IntigoGW2
DkR are staying on Blacktide, if you have seen anyone from DkR on desolation its someone thats probably just checking out the pve scene then making a stop off in WvW
I didn’t know PvE was different per server….?
Anyways, seems more logical that they just transferred and will leave DkR soon for another guild (or they are spying but we shouldn’t accuse anyone of such an act without more info….)
The DkR dude had a commander tag too so I don’t think he is looking for pve, unless BT does pve in wv3 maps? His name is Toglos or something. Pretty weird guy and seems to be a little bit lost?
Toglost is actually a surprisingly fitting nickname for him. He’s always been a bit of a local joke on Blacktide – I hope he will give you great laughs too.
http://www.youtube.com/user/IntigoGW2
Does the Boon duration & Might duration effect the boons I apply to my allies?
Yes.
Likewise, their Boon Duration does not affect the duration of Boons given to them from other players.
http://www.youtube.com/user/IntigoGW2
@ ogre i thought RG were on EB after the reset, i saw many of them.
We swapped zone a few times.
KAZ had some insane numbers; perhaps we’ll try that again once we have most of our guys back. I think most of RG would love to see some GvG fights with somewhat equal numbers – those fights are really some of the most enjoyable things you can do in GW 2.

Red Guard, play against us when we have holidays and the same amount of players.
What are you talking about? Do you want us to cancel our holiday celebrations so we can log on to fight you (without even knowing who you are)?
I am sure a fight could be arranged if you are so eager to have one.
I don’t quite understand how you say you have “same amount of players” now because of the holidays when all we run are guild groups with 20-25 people the majority of the time.
