IMO, its not that great outside pve, a clever player will never get near the guardian to kill it, and all classes have ranged weapons some have native better mobility. This is why I second slot the scepter so that I can make the opponent stop kiting and get into close range while they are not able to move. Scepter #3 is great for this makes them stop in their tracks.
Take note of this Anet please kill Traherne in glorious combat! And after he’s dead the personal story should have you leading the fight against the next threatening dragon.
This happens in all starter areas, try going into Lions Arch and then to another starting area for a while.
When you craft new gear you get it, and all you need to do is gather the materials or buy them on the trading post where you can instantly buy almost every material in the game. Or of course you could just buy the armor but that wouldn’t raise your crafting level which grants you experience.
I was wondering if anyone has compiled a list of where to buy recipes for all professions of crafting. It would be a huge time saver to know where to buy all the different recipes, like from heart vendors and master crafter e.t.c.
Yeah, I know the shield should autoblock while in melee just by wearing it. This should be further boostable by a signet with a passive block% increase.
meh, it’s only hard on condition damage guardians if you can deal damage outside of burning it’s only mildly annoying.
I just did exploration and personal story, it went by fast.
only if it is dual weild flails. Guardians as of yet cannot dual weild so that would be nice.
The only thing that really works is the shout retreat, and idk if it would be worth a slot on your bar.
Theif/Necromancer can do well if the person playing them knows what they are doing and can be same as other professions, even if they are not the most popular. Engineers can do very well with a dedicated player as well although they take a little more work to get where other professions are. The only profession which truly is not going to be able to beat others no matter how hard they try is Ranger, as they just don’t have the tools to do well as they rely on pets to take damage for them which doesn’t work well in any kind of pvp and they are also legendarily bad in dungeons as well as they don’t offer any kind of good teamwork skills. Quite literally Ranger is the worst profession possible.
Well actually, the only class to avoid is Ranger as all other classes can do portions of what Rangers do only better than Ranger. Needless to say I strongly think this profession needs to be buffed so that it can be balanced as it will be hard to do anything other than solo pve with this class. Yes, you can still do things as a Ranger but everybody else will do things better than you.
Human Guardian is a fun Character to play as, and the starting area is easy and good for building your character to take on tougher challenges. As a guardian you can solo pretty much all Personal Story to boot. You get alot of different weapon choices and is very versitile, and as human you get Hounds of Balthazar a decent Elite skill which is hard to come by as most of them are disappointing.
Please NO! I like this game in 3rd person thank you.
because it’s not a cookie cutter build, which is why I encourage you to continue with it.
Unfortunately that’s part of the trinity which Anet killed.
I’ve opened alot of them chests and never gotten anything too terribly important. I just focus on other things, as the things i’ve gotten are only marginal at best.
Sounds like it would be a “good” addition to the Personal Story where you could make the evil choices like letting the queen die, or even killing her yourself with Logan Thackery trying to stop you as a boss.
Anet favors Zerging, so I doubt that anything in here will get implimented. Rather, Zerging will become even better.
Don’t give anyone besides yourself your username and password pretty simple.
why should anyone want something that gives you harpies is a play on why should anyone want something that gives you herpes. Don’t see why someone didn’t see that.
all classes may be 100% viable but some classes like Ranger really don’t have as much to offer in dungeons e.t.c. You can still run it and succeed but it’s harder.
you’ll need to have gold not silver, it’s not going to be that cheap.
This depends on what you want to do, for example Rangers are notoriously bad in dungeons, but theives do ok.
Indeed, many classes have been nerfed hard even though they were the weakest profession to begin with. Why some classes like Ranger and Theif get nerfed so much while others seem to not be so nerfed or even buffed is beyond me. They are slowly unbalencing all the classes because of this and some professions are being favored.
Yeah, when you are not emotionally attached characters why continue on with the pointless slaughter? It’s just terrible writing in the opinions of many.
My Human Female Mesmer Blink Tank
You switch to thief and die alot wondering what dodging is. Next!
Indeed, give scepter 1 more range, speed and make it homing, make staff have more range, make it so zealot’s defense does not root you, and make it so sword 2 does more damage. That would fix just about everything.
Yes, but it would only be to 99, and you could still use most of the 80 gear at 99 as there would only be a marginal increase in armor. It would mostly be to bump trait point total to 90 and get a few more skill points. And so that the monsters could get more difficult past 80, because as it stands monster difficulty is a joke. It’s also so that the new armor would look better than what is at 80 which would be the only reason for working toward level 99 armor.
well if instead of every 1 in 5 attacks causing it, if every hit caused the 328 dmg burning effect it could work as you would be constantly reapplying it. Other than that idk what would work, as you wouldn’t be able to stack enough to be effective anyway.
Bump that up to 18 player dungeon I believe would be great, you’d need an alliance of players to complete it, and in case a few dc mid-dungeon you could still keep going.
mostly just make sure you have about 3k armor and 1k healing. Personally I like Valkyrie armor with Cleric accessories but it’s just that a personal preferance, not an absolute.
Well of course, the only point of patches is to nerf theif into uselessness and fix minor issues with other classes.
Indeed, very few classes can solo so well. Only a minion master Necro comes to mind as to what might be better and that takes some patience to use.
I don’t know about this idea, however dual maces would probably work better for Guardian. The other 2 moves for dual maces Riposte and Retaliate would work better overall IMO. This is a very bad idea to limit your offense so, even so it would be fun to watch.
Sure, I make choices but they don’t seem to revolve around my character! I find this to be a problem with the PS. Please show/tell your experiences with this.
I agree that death is too commonplace and because nobody is even emotionally invested in the character at all it has little if any impact. You should get someone with a high emotional intelligence to help write the story.
What I would expect in GW2 Expansion is level cap raise to final level of 99, 90 total trait points and crafting level of 512, as well as new cooler looking armor that makes your characters look like kicking butt is all they’ve ever known. And of course the Personal Story would rather than give you more choices make the previous choices tie into the story better giving you more of a roleplaying experience. Also solo friendliness is a must!
IMO that’s a bad idea as Elementalist should focus on nuking, however dual scepters or something would be cool.
No, builds tend to go towards bunker because damage is not enough to justify doing otherwise. adding damage does not add enough damage to kill the enemy within a reasonable amount of time as spell damage is underpowered.
I know what you mean, time for the Power Rangers! In all seriousness however I do believe this profession should be buffed in some way for dungeons as this profession does the worst there, although pvp is good.
I laugh at this, Theif is one of the weakest classes especially because of initiative limitations, and lack of stealth.
No, then every party would kick people for silly reasons.
This game is NOT Diablo II magic find will not help you much if at all. Gilded would probably help more IMO.
I’m not so sure I heard Water Elementalist is the best healer.
Stealth is already only 3 seconds and has been nerfed into oblivion. Why do they keep on nerfing it even more? This sucks.
This is a good build for Burning and you May as well go 30 radience, you’ll want 25 radience for Radient Power, and Right-hand strength is good for a mace build. And 10 Zeal for Fiery Wrath comes to mind, along with 15 zeal for Symbolic Exposure. 20 valor to go with your high crit chance for more crit damage, as well as Defender’s Flame and Mace of Justice. This leaves 5 in Virtues.
This should provide high condition damage while not neglecting mace damage.
I know a guy who uses full Carrion gear, and if Condition Damage is your only worry it works wonders. There are better armors overall however.
