Jeweler if you have recipes you discovered can be very profitable, but yeah the recipes that come with it just by leveling alone are not so hot so I can understand the confusion. Discovered recipes from Jeweler are some of the most profitable in the game.
I got to 80 without crafting, it’s not so hard actually as you can just explore maps for experience. This is the other good way of obtaining xp if you don’t like to craft.
This is random because it only increases your crafting experience on a critical. So there is no hard and fast you save X on mats.
Not really, you get the levels but not the experience of using the class in combat to go with it. This means you will not have much skill in your class.
Because farming mats and selling them to the crafters is what makes profit.
I know what you mean lol, fashions are so lame in this game and I wonder why even buy them? You can’t even use town clothes over your armor all the time so why bother? It’s like Anet didn’t want to profit off of fashions.
There are alot of people with time but not much money, so the price will go up as it’s only natural.
There is no better, they play very differently and do very different things and can not properly be compared. They are equal and yet so very different.
Mainly Guardians, especially high condition damage ones who have stability up alot, along with when they use retaliation on my shatters too. Some skilled necros give me trouble, but noob ones are easy. Eles are the most hated though as they just refuse to take damage while hurling things at me. Theives are hit and miss, though when they hit it hurts.
what’s a toon? Do you mean your Player Character, or PC for short?
only in the lower levels is that true, a Mesmer above level 40 with a skilled player can really shine.
maybe he finds it boring because you can do almost anything as a guardian in PVE solo and going to vistas, doing heart quests is all too easy. So yes some people are bored by there being no challenge in PVE.
Weapon swap is one of the best features, why not use it as for every weapon there is another weapon that synergizes well with it to cover all your weak spots. That reminds me of the elementalist that only wanted to use half the elements, it’s just not using your full potential.
scepter #1 is not working properly for almost any profession.
Not only did I notice this, but there are other small difference that if you know what to look for it makes finding the real mesmer easy as pie even if they don’t use dual x.
Indeed, even a guardian running a burning condition damage build knows this. It seems torch just doesn’t work well in PVE, but it is very good to have in PVP.
Pretty equal actually, although a skilled mesmer has a few things to worry about like how long the fight would last as the longer the fight goes on the more likely the guardian will win. You need to find a way to kill guardians quickly as they have much more sustained damage and can outlast almost anyone. That, coupled with the fact that it’s easy to tell which mesmer is the real one and that guardians can have stability up means you’ll have to be very aggressive against a a guardian to win. Even so, I believe they’d be about equal to each other. Very different classes and playstyle between the two.
I think it’s a tooltip bug, your armor is working normally. Sometimes errors occur, and this seems like a harmless one.
Just make sure to get some healing power in your build too, cleric accessories are pretty good at this.
Indeed they can, even if they usually choose not to so they can provide more support.
fire arrows fits wonderfully, and stacks burning intensity.
I just want to add that while speccing for damage on guardian is less usual, if properly designed they can output great damage numbers.
easier time getting parties to go to dungeons mostly. Very much easier time looking for a group.
You should buy 1 of every equippable weapon and learn all of their skills, it’s a pain but well worth it. With that in mind, once you’ve gotten the feel for how the weapons work, then focus on the 2 you use the most.
Both are good, depends on what your playstyle is. Eles are so kitten good at kiting it’s ridiculus!
Well then why does mace kill things faster than sword ALL the time for me?
They can if they’ve specced for it, although that’s a less used build. You will have less hp for speccing for dps not the end of the world but you will notice a difference.
I rarely use the mouse, if at all ever.
depends on where your toughness is at, after 3k you start to see diminishing returns for adding more into toughness.
Vitality>Armor Defense, and what’s more the more armor defense you have the more you get targeted over others as well.
I believe the sword out DPS the mace by a considerable margin. True each mace attack hits for more damage, but the sword attacks much faster. The sword attacks 4 times to the mace’s every 3 and the swords 3rd attack is guaranteed to attack three times even on single targets which means on single target bosses it actually attacks 6 times for every 3 mace attacks. Although I do agree the swords alternative skills are lacking in a PVE environment.
Just to let you know mace dps>sword dps but sword dot>mace dot. So over time to the same target you could deal more damage but unless that target is a dungeon boss that’s not likely as with the mace most targets don’t live long enough for sword damage to be better.
Well SiNoS, that’s what happens when you neglect defense and go glass cannon.
It’s weird but I like shield even if the cooldowns are a bit long. Hammer is great for support if you like waiting to get autoattack chain off, although if you have a mace that’s also a very defensive/supportive weapon. You might want to deal more damage otherwise this setup is good.
your healing stat must be low, so yeah it’ll suck to be you when you use this!
Anet must be completely unable to fix this lol, Priceless.
so long as you don’t mind dodging alot while kiting this is very true, but that also means we miss out on attack chances that other professions get.
I really don’t recommend arcane imo. Either Water/Earth for defense or Fire/Air for offense. Arcane has alot of drawbacks compared to elemental skills.
That’s weird, it’s bleed effect stacks intensity well and deals significant damage for me.
Glad to see someone is working on the Spellsword build!
Well that’s what you get for playing angry birds.
besides the staff have you tried Scepter/Focus as it has more of a ranged spellslinger feel to it and is likely at least more viable than staff.
No, some enemies are more vulnerable/stronger to certian elements that’s why it’s good to have all of them. Not only that, but ele skills have long cooldowns so it’s nice to be able to have something to cast.
You know I really wish there wouldn’t be so many nerf sissies in the game, it makes the game less enjoyable.
why nerf this when Mesmer speed is lowest in game? makes no sense we won’t be balenced with other classes anymore and we will die easily thanks to not being able to kite well enough.
I agree with bri, scepter/staff should be improved.
Maybe you mean Greatsword? That’s a more viable option and has more of a damage dealer feel to it than the mace.
the 1h sword unfortunately deals less damage than the mace, and the skills it comes with suck atm. They deal less damage while making you more vulnerable to recieving damage by rooting you in place. The skill that teleports you deals less than normal damage, and even autoattack deals less damage than mace. But if you want to make your game harder, then go for it.
They already are an Alpha class xD!
Protector’s Stike, Chains of Light, Stand Your Ground.
