Am I the only one that gets it? Or are those running condi refusing to come up off their builds?

All I ever hear these days is how WvW is dead, or that this condi build is OP or that class is OP.
You also have the those who blame those who jumped ship for a gold server leaving the silver / bronze servers gutted.

Day after day I hear this and no one ever comments on the common denominator.
Condition Damage IS the problem with WvW.
It is the reason why newer players stay away from WvW…tried of dying…lack of funds to build…lack of understanding of the builds.
It is a reason why people jumper servers…to be with others who are running the “flavor of the month” (builds / classes) and who communicate on TS. To be in a server with Condi liked people and not have to deal with pugs who are NOT running condi and become a liability.
And then there is this question…Why spend the time or gold on a build that is ONLY used in WvW?

When a few condi bombs can wipe a zerg…can you really sit there with your condi build and say that Condition Damage is not the problem with WvW?

What does this have to do with druids again?

I was wondering the same, man. These threads easily get derailed to whine about everything the casual players have a hard time fighting. IMO Druid is is a good spot. Though I NEVER play mine, but not because of any particular reason that it’s not my favorite profession to play or even close. When I’m roaming, I don’t lament seeing any particular profession when I come across them. I just bring plenty of condi clear and stun breaks, kite, dodge. los ect.

And when a couple condi bombs can wipe a zerg, that zerg is BAD. They need a lesson in group composition bigtime. Ugh, this whole thread is full of people who just won’t practice more, instead they come here to complain. I’m actually sick of myself complaining at the complainers. There’s less complaining on the PVF forums than here now. Yes, condi is strong, but so is the power-creep aspect. Adapt like the rest. I’m done with these types of threads from now on.

I love Rifle, but compared to Hammer it’s sub-par. I would LOVE for Anet to do a rework on skills 3 and 4. And give it more range, I mean a rifle should go further than a LB…I’d be happy with 1200 though.

No way. For a number of reasons. Most have been stated above. The main one for me is, I don’t trust Anet to take that sub money and make “Gw2 WvW” good enough to pay for monthly. That would be too much of a project for them. Plus I don’t think they have their finger on the pulse of the hardcore WvWers.

I don’t see how that would “balance” WvW…You and people on your server have all those same skills and builds. All things being equal(numbers,professions,builds and skill), things aren’t that bad atm. Toning damage and boons ect. won’t really balance anything. If your group is all running weird selfish builds and a messed up comp, yeah, things feel unbalanced. That’s the only time WvW combat feels unbalanced to me. Man, all the time I’m like “what the heck is this dude running”. Freakin S/D Thieves and LB rangers running in zergs ect. Stay away from those groups. They’ll get you killed in an even or outnumbered fight if the enemy has a correct comp. Gonna feel really unbalanced if you stick around them.

If you think an Anet employee that has the power to make real meaningful changes to WvW are reading these types of threads(if any)that are made here, you’re probably Albert Einstein’s definition of insane.

By the time they fix the server lag/skill lag and all the other problems to WvW, Camelot Unchained, Crowfall and realistic VR will be out. Jeez, probably hover cars and the next George RR Martin book will be available before then.

Like I tell everyone else, if you even want these threads read by Devs, you need to make them on Reddit, get it trending ect, then maybe. But I still doubt it.

Play both. Both are great pretty much every mode in this game. I play every profession, I’m 100% an altoholic myself, but I do find myself on 3 of my toons the most. Though for fun playstyle, you can’t beat Engi. I have the most fun on him.

You do know traps have been out for close to a year now, right?There’s a gold mine of info and videos on how to counter and make Guards waste them. DH/Guard hasn’t changed all that much recently. They’ve always had blocks…Your Thread is titled “Let’s talk about Guards” but you really just complained. You should be asking for help on fighting the new builds that have popped up recently. Or how to fight them in general. These kinds of salty sounding threads don’t get you anywhere OP. Go read in all the Profession forums and see where threads like this one gets you. Spend you time learning and practicing instead of QQing. Please.

OP claims DH is overpowered, but doesn’t know names of their skills. ie. Calling Deflecting Shot “big bubble” and then “I don’t know, it needs a nerf”. Like come on, before you claim something to be OP(that’s been around since HoT came out fyi), at least learn about the profession, how to counter it, what the skills are, learn their animations and common combos of the meta builds. It’s what almost all good players do. Most people have to put time in to be good. And yeah, I agree traps are mindless boring utilities, but they are so laughably easy to counter that I hope a DH wastes all his Util slots on them. There are tons of skills and weapon attacks in this game that are just as bad, but on lower CDs in many cases. It’s just best to take the time you spent making this thread and posting in practicing fighting Dragonhunters. When I first started PvPing/WvW roaming on Condi Engi about 2 yrs ago, Necro was my hard counter. Eventually I rolled a Necro to learn to beat them, spent some time on it and I never again felt I was at a major disadvantage again when I saw a Necro coming. Just put the time in and spread the word to others to stop these stupid “nerf that, I can’t kill them!” threads. It’s embarrassing.

There is no sufficient condi cleanse on any class to survive multiple condition bombs.

You shouldn’t survive multiple Power Creep bombs either, and you usually don’t.

I think the main problems are that people don’t know how to manage incoming condi very well. They clear too early or too late, don’t dodge or block the skills that are applying the condi bombs in the first place or are in a bad position you shouldn’t be. If you’re QQing on the forums for a nerf, I really hope you’ve exhausted all your options, studied all the builds/skills that are making your bum hurt, added Purity, Generosity, Cleansing sigils or more clears on your util bar first. Use Hoelbrak or runes like it. Or just know what your “counters” are and pick your battles correctly. BTW, I main power Scrapper. If condi was better, I’d use it. But it’s just not. It’s viable in lower tiers though…Or for a few games here and there. Condi has more ways to counter. Preventing it from being applied/stacked and clearing it if it does get applied to you. Instead of saying Get Gud, L2P ect, I’m saying Practice More.

If you watch ESL, really only Chrono and Berserker are the pro “meta” builds/professions. Though Power Berserker is in a pretty good spot. And Yes, Condi Necro is stronger than Power in Conquest, but Necro isn’t seen even close to as much as last couple seasons. I think a lot of ppl judge what they see in lower tiers is being the “meta”. That’s really not the case.

All around pretty good stuff, Dentes. Interesting builds also. Some nice crits with those Empowering Might stacks and Str Runes.

Not really. Conditions can potentially do more damage if not cleared, but the upfront damage of many power bursts is far higher. I whacked a Warrior with a 15K shatter this week. I killed an Ele with a single Vault doing 12K damage.

Watch out for condition Chronos. Otherwise, most things can’t stack conditions fast enough to be as much of a threat as a power build. Bring cleanses or don’t blame other people for something that you could have prevented. Can’t tell you how tired I am of the “I don’t want to bring cleanses but condition builds are OP” attitude.

I’m with you. Some would definitely say I go overboard on condi clears, but you do much more damage when you’re not running from spawn. I play all classes, and can’t think of any I run that I feel I’m at a huge disadvantage when fighting full condi. When I die to condi players, it’s MY FAULT.

Most players know /bow means “duel” with no stomping. It’s been this way for 4 years now despite the “1v1 shouldn’t happen in wvw at all” nonsense.

Actually, I thought “/bow” means “well played”, but that’s because (a) I don’t duel so (b) I don’t pay attention to any presumed etiquette. It’s WvW and I’ll help out my teammates who are being attacked, especially when they are along the primary routes to objectives. If someone reminds me that they might be dueling, then, sure, I’ll hold back.

Never presume that other people share the same etiquette as you do.

No we shouldn’t presume, but if you’ve been in wvw for over 100hrs, you should know…If not, you’re not paying attention. If I see 1v1 I ask “duel?” Over half are ppl actually dueling. I’ll usually sit and see if I can get a turn. Players who roam alone are usually looking for them, so I usually assume and don’t jump right in. Like someone said above, they’re organinc, and can happen anywhere, so I always ask. But I also would be overly mad if someone did jump in, I just tell em it’s a duel, and if they ignore me and keep killing, I let the person I was dueling kill them. And we usually give em a siege burial.

These are just from memory so I may have one or two classes wrong, but I highly doubt it. I think the most notable things are ranger being present in every team, warr dropping out of the meta on all but one team and 2/3 EU teams taking a Mesmer whereas 2/3 NA teams are taking a guard. Of course this all could change for the world championship itself.

For #3 post SS/vid of your combat log with you being crit while in SH and Earth. Then if you haven’t already, make a bug report with SS or video. Video is always the best “proof” to show the devs. Though if you ever want your threads seen and taken seriously from Anet, post on Reddit not here. Or both would be optimal.

You should always have recording software rdy to go. For catching bugs and cheaters. Not just for YouTube vanity reasons. If not in HD recording, there’s plenty of freeware recording software that doesn’t use much of your processor/memory if you use a potato for gaming.

For the chain, yeah. My power Necro does that in Zerk/Valk gear on dagger AA chain also. If you ever get hit with a full AA chain by someone running full Zerker or even Marauder(unless downed or something), you need more stun breaks, energy sigils or blocks or something. Just don’t do that. You’re gonna have a bad day…DH is prob 5th down the line of toons I play, and really only large scale WvW on it, so I’m not defending it out of bias.

I’ve only watched a handful of the pvp Qualifiers, but only saw maybe(Texbi I think?)roll witha DH. If it was OP there’d be 1 on most top teams. Though I haven’t watched them all like usual, so correct me if I’m wrong plz. I think there’s a couple builds that can replace Scrapper(boooo!), but nothing over the top I’ve seen myself. I’m glad DH mains have more choices. Pretty sick of rolling my eyes at these scrubby traps.

I was thinking the same thing. HE/She sounds mad because a few ppl might have been mean to them I’m guessing? Guess what? There’s jerks on every server I’ve been on. I have 4 accts. and have been on many servers from gold tier to rust tier, so I can say that from experience. It’s a competitive mode on the internet. With anonymity there are trolls. And sometimes it’s quite entertaining.

People on every server complain, troll, blob, roam, use condi, stack boons, use venom-share, laugh at stupid players, don’t use TS ect ect. It’s not cool to generalise whole servers. I know it’s hard not to, believe me. But I’m willing to bet most of the players that were jerks to FC players(which I didn’t see an abnormal amount of tbh) are gone now anyhow. It’s a ghost town. I can only think of 1 guild that can field over 15 on the regular. It’s a joke that DH is Very High(in population that is).

Did non WvW players get to vote? Or ppl who have a modicum of time in WvW? It’s possible that we lost a huge portion of the vets who like fighting over ppt-ing/ktraining after HoT, and there’s more pugs than vets now. With 3 accts on diff servers I can’t remember seeing/hearing anyone say they liked the DBL as a whole. EOTM was used as EB overflow more than DBL if anyone remembers. That’s very telling.

Yeah, people kinda voted against DBL already by not playing on them, EOTMing when EB was queued or leaving the game entirely. It’s gotten a tiny bit better, but still needs so much work that I’m doubtful Anet has or wants to put the time it needs to fix it.

I have to say, I am kind of confused about what it is DH wants. I see lots of posts by DH about being outnumbered. As a member of FC I can vouch for this! FC brought not too much in terms of numbers to this linking. We have always had a small WvW community. Yet, we were in tier 5, not 8.
I personally was excited about the link. We had some FC guilds move to DH and I always liked them, so I was really happy. But my enthusiasm has been squelched! 3 times I have tried to follow a DH commander. The first time, I was repeatedly invited to squad and kicked out as soon as I joined. The second time, I found NSP inside our keep and I told the commander, I was berated for not being able to kill them all myself. (I am a staff else ?ø? and I fight like a girl). ???? The last time, the commander stopped the Zerg in route to point out I was FC and made me leave, saying I was infecting DH. So, really I have not logged into WvW a whole lot lately. I think this has been the experience of a lot of The FC community. It is pretty oblivious that, DH DOES NOT want our help.

You can’t be so sensitive. It’s the internet. People are jerks. Yeah, there were a few trolls on DH a couple months ago, but they went to other servers. I’ve hardly seen any ppl talk trash about FC. And I used to play a lot till Overwatch and also cause outnumbered buff on every map during NA prime. Even an hr after reset outnumbered pops on DHBL and EB. Coming from a person who has 3 accts on 3 different tiers. There isn’t a guild that can field more than 15 on average anymore. At least not that plays a lot. Maybe TAG is the largest now? It’s sad. But whatever…Ded server, ded tier, ded game….

There are so many more things broken in this game that dura runes are way down on that list. Like way down. They’re strong(not OP) with a party all using them. If you think this is OP, you must not have ever come across Mallyx Rev with boon-share Mes. Run with a lot of boon corrupt in your group to counter, or run power builds. Condi loses effectiveness the more enemies you’re fighting anyhow. They’re best to use for roaming like always.

I’m guessing you don’t play NA timezone with your SEA comment and that you think HoD is the blobby server out of the three…NSP can pop 2 sets of OJs on a BL no problem. I see it every afternoon/night I play. I’m willing to bet you don’t see outnumbered buff on your BL and EB on reset? DH does. I’d kill for your numbers. NSP has legions of ppl compared to DH and a bit more than HoD. Scorewise you’d do better if your guilds didn’t voltron up and nuthug, you could cover more of the map(s).

This matchup is beyond boring for guilds looking to fight other solo guild groups. That’s mostly why DH has been hemorrhaging guilds and vets. My guild who raids with 15ish can’t find many fights with another guild without them popping OJs. I’ve seen only 1 guild group on NSP that doesn’t constantly nuthug([noob] guild I think it is). I guessing they’re the only guild with closed raids? Talk about boring matchups. YAWN. I’m definitely glad I bought Overwatch and have 2 other GW2 accts. PvP and WvW are dead in GW2. Most of the pros and streamers are off to Overwatch. It’s too bad really, because GW2 combat had sooooo much potential.

Huh, I guess I’m lucky then. In over 10k games across 3 accounts I’ve not had a lot of games when the enemy team is being overly toxic beyond normal competitive yapping. You really do need to have thick skin to play multi-player/pvp online. Or just being online. I’m not a big fan on censorship myself. Especially when a person has the ability to stop from seeing the toxic behavior in the first place. Most MP games have an “all” chat though. At least the ones I play(mostly FPS). If running your mouth to the other team is putting them off their game, that’s on them tbh. Like someone mentioned before, you can turn off /map and whispers during the game, or just block people you find toxic. I use /map in games to find new queue partners all the time. I’d miss not having it.

Also, someone mentioned you can’t find the enemy’s name in WvW. Actually you can pretty easily. At least their acct name to whisper. Quite useful in a number of ways.

This happens on DH almost evey night during NA prime. No exaggeration. Sadly, I’m pretty used to it and come to expect it when the voltron blob is about to hit a keep. We all knew it was going to get out of hand with the implementation of ftp. Spies I’m not all upset about, it’s the pulling of tacs and supply wasting that brings a new meaning to tryhard scrubbery. It’s especially lame to do when you vastly outnumber the server you’re doing it to at that moment. It’s admitting you suck tbh.

I’ve seen some great ideas to stop it or at least help the situation. This is definitely a case to have recording software at the ready. Cause we all know the report system goes to the bin. 3 yrs and no report cheater option in drop-down menu.

But like apharma said above, Mesmer has a massive port ability every minute or so. Like 4800ish? units with a staff equipped. But you don’t really see people do that combo. It isn’t practical. After that I’d say Nike Warrior, Druid, Ele, Scrapper and so on.

That sounds like Darkhaven atm. If I have to wait 2 more months to get out of this major outnumbered spot we’re in, I might start using my alt and put my main down till things are worked out in 2018. At least we have Overwatch now bois….

OMG if this happens, well, we know what will happen. Man, my server lost so many ppl who quit because of that Golem Week debacle. It was fun the first 1-2 hrs, not 168hrs! UGH. But then the golem exploit karma trains started happening. Players with the golem buff roaming(was it 200% damage modifier?), and golems with FGS, lol that one was funny the first time or two. But I do like the idea of a day with no ppt. Like a day with 5x the normal bags per kill or something that promotes combat.

I’ve been running condi warrior forever, I played one exclusively in s2. And guess what? People would rage when I was on my warrior, ask me to switch or quit the game. Because I didn’t do damage according to them.

Now everyone is complaining condi warrior is op. What has changed? Nothing but adrenal health. Get some balls, learn to play, get good or whatever. But most importantly, strategize. Condi warrior isn’t god like, it has a weakness. Find it.

Exactly, it’s the same condi build we were seeing a lot of last season about half way through. Like you said, only AH is the difference. Instead of the usual Mace/Shield Sw/T, obviously ppl are gonna take LB with the Scorched Earth CI bug in this condi prevalent meta. I could see how ppl who haven’t really tried to figure a counter yet would cry nerf. Fix the bug, and I don’t think there’s a reason to complain. And tbh I only run power War/Zerker, so I don’t have a bias.

It seems every profession has a really strong build or variations of it, and counters to each, it just too bad there aren’t many more viable pvp builds for ranked

For something that probably took up to 2 years to develop I just find that really sad!

With the changes they have made its makes an interesting and different map to fight in, on rotation. I honestly don’t think you have given it a chance after the changes. To throw it all away and be stuck with the same 4 year old maps for maybe another 2 would just be really sad.

I spent plenty of time in it after the last change (because ebg queues were so high I couldn’t get in), the map was slightly less terrible but it still only encouraged zerging.

My total time on the dbl is probably something pretty low like 50ish hours, that isn’t enough time to learn all the best spots to attack each structure but it’s plenty of time to learn all the short cuts around the map. In 1 hour on alpine I found more roaming fights than all my hours on the dbl.

That last sentence has been my experience also. And that says a lot. It’s obvious that Alpine is much more agreeable to WvWers than DBL. Just by reading on probably all WvW forums there are, almost all players who like to fight(what wvw is about)don’t like DBL. Yeah, anyone can find a positive or two about it, but when it comes to producing constant fights, Alpine blows it’s doors off in popularity. I think there can be better, yeah, it’s not perfect, but it’s the best we have and it’s obvious to the veteran community. Alpine brought a lot of old players back. That’s good for us all. Whole guilds are re-forming because of the recent changes. Seems like it’s the sneaky pvd back-cap players that enjoyed DBL. Is that the case?

You know what I hate about Alpine? Full inventory and opening all the mountains of bags so often.

Thats actually a really good idea. Have bank access there, but removing the crafting stations would be a good start on working on queue problems.

Honestly, it was a huge mistake making confusion tick for damage regardless. I can see the original confusion as a mechanic to tone down mindless skill spam but what’s the point when it’s getting heaped onto you relentlessly and you’re taking damage anyway? This seems purely like more PvE changes draining into WvWvW. And I’ve said it a million times, torment has no place in such a fluid, action oriented combat system. In a game with cripple, chill, immobilize and weakness, the addition of torment leaves me scratching my head.

I’m not a big proponent of nerfing things hard in this game, especially the blanket statements like “nerf condi”, but what you typed here I can agree with. Those specific things need reworked/changed in those ways. I play all classes in pvp and wvw and know when something is pretty broken. Condi chrono is especially strong because of the crazy re-application of the confusion and torment. I’m not saying nuke it hard, just a rework. Dire with plex runes, food and stacks is crazy in duels and small man wvw. It’s just dirty. And not in a good way.

I have no problem with any other condi build or actual condi tbh, and that’s coming from a person who atm doesn’t use any condi builds(i love fat crits).

Practically any new PvP mode would be smart. Something without PvE type elements, but has teamplay strategy like a Capture the Flag mode for an example. This would be the time to release a new PvP mode with so many PvPers(many of them ESL players)leaving for Overwatch in a couple weeks.

Light field combo finishers condi removal have never worked on yourself. Only allies.
As you can see by reading at “condi removal from allies” has combo field finishers listed, but “removal from self” has no finishers listed. Hope that helps..

That also goes with Fumigate(#3 Elixer Gun) if you didn’t know also.
