After a couple days of not hearing anything, I’d spam their Twitter asking about your bug report etc. With a new xpac coming in about a week and the publicity I think they’d not ignore a person for everyone to see. It’s gotten downright disgusting the lack of community with the devs in this game. Not even a mod response in a month. Like a “hey, I made a inquiry since I saw you haven’t gotten a response in a freaking month”.

Ever since HoT both condi and power damage has been through the roof.

Yesterday I got hit for 8K damage of gunflame, that’s on a 2000 toughness build so… He would have done maybe 10-12K damage vs someone unarmoured? Now how the heck does a skill with a base damage of 928 go to over 10K? Well I know how and there’s no science behind it, just stack all the damage. But still, we’re looking at damage modifiers of 10x+ from base after all is said and done.

I think that is an insane leap of damage and it always leaves me wondering whether Anet really intended this or not. They’re not fixing anything so obviously they dont care now, but was damage actually meant to go this high from the beginning?

Well, on a build editor without any modifiers, food, traits, bloodlust stacks or Might ect(so just Zerker armor, rifle and accessories, and Pack Runes)Gunflame is around 2500 base damage. Then just add full might stacks, power food and wrench, bloodlust stacks even w/o any damage modifiers or other buffs or crits it’s 3,600 base damage. But to get crazy damage, you’re a sitting duck for most meta builds played well. If you didn’t, you should have seen GF when it was actually OP. Go find some vids for a good laugh.

I have the same thing that started maybe a month ago. The loading screen averages 75 seconds before the map even starts loading, then it loads fast like normal. By typing -maploadinfo in your target line in Properties you can check progress of the loading. For me, I noticed a trend that if I port around the same map, it’s the usual 5 seconds or so, but if it’s map hopping, logging in with a new toon, going from LA to pvp lobby it takes forever. That’s never happened to me. Even when I was on a HDD it wasn’t over 25 seconds or so at most. I tried repairing GW2 twice and a fresh install. And I know my PC well. Nothing new has changed. I keep Win Update and all automatic software updates off, and do all my updating manually. No game settings or hardware changes lately either. I’ll try the logging in as Admin suggestion and the other suggestion about teleports and -modelsnapshotfix. Kitten man, I roam on glkittenter Mes/Chrono a lot, teleports are a must to live.

If I find a permanent fix I will post it. GLHL

Edit: I tried all suggestions. None worked. It does seem to be a 32 bit problem though, because in 64 bit it loads fast like normal. The thing is in 64 bit my cpu/gpu temp/memory/speed OSD doesn’t work in 64 bit.

Some good clips like usual. I’m personally holding my judgement on Mirage till PoF drops and I can really play with it. Movement speed seems an issue. A small one, but something you have to work around and sacrifice something for like base Mes. I never got a chance to really put some time into Mirage though. But I will.

Maybe it’s because your prob happened over the weekend? Just a guess. If it was during the week and 4 days without a response on the official Account Support forums, I’d be a bit annoyed. I’d say give it a little longer before getting too upset. Then I’d be on gw2 and Anet twitter blowing it up linking this thread to start.

It was the worst I’ve seen in a while tonight. First loading into the map I thought the whole thing was going to crash and then all night long the lag was just horrible. Worse than usual by any means.

The last week has been about as laggy as I’ve seen in years of playing WvW. EB is usually crap, but last night there were multiple times where most of our squad and most of the map seemed about to DC the lag was so bad. And eventually did DC. I actually DC from WvW a lot lately and sometimes my PC will crash with the game, which I never really had a prob with till the last week or so. I think JQ’s main EB tag DCed a couple times also.

But I see every profession roam solo. Heres the breakdown of what I see and if its power/condi.

Thief – Mostly Power
Necro – Almost Exclusively Condi
Mesmer – Mostly Condi
Engi – 50/50
Ele – Almost Exclusively Power
Guard – Almost Exclusively Power
Rev – Mostly Power
Warrior – Almost Exclusively Power
Ranger – Mostly Bunker.

My observation is a little different from yours. But not far off. A lot of what I see roaming/havoking on NA and EU are builds I see in (i mostly sPvP on my EU account for reasons)sPvP as well. Roamers are a lot of the time sPvPers or vice versa. Lately what I’ve noticed roaming/havok are;

Teef- mostly power, but condi is pretty popular
Necro- mostly condi or hybrid
Engi- mostly power bruisers
Mes- mostly condi but power is coming back. Shatter Mes and Power Engi are my favorite to roam solo on.
Ele- pretty much all power
Guard- more power than condi, but lot of condi still
War- mostly power
Ranger- mostly power bruisers
Rev- mostly power, but condi is pretty popular.

Yeah, those players definitely do exist. But so do bots in gaming. Most of the things the OP and others describe I’ve seen for years in spvp. Not the pathing though. That sounds interesting and worth really looking deeper into. I’ll reserve judgement until I see it for myself. I’ll be paying closer attention. With CNN and Mainstream Media being caught lying and using crisis actors on almost a daily/weekly basis now, I’m more skeptical than I ever was. Man, are pvp and WvW Anet devs even real? Hmmm

I have been playing the game for a few months now. So far i like the game even tho i dont like the combat style.

Been doing pvp every day since its rewarding, not gear depended and its what im looking for in a mmorpg mostly.

But there is one thing i dont understand here, i have seen many ppl doing 5 to 10k dmg regularly, even with condition dmg i can see ppl doing 5k per tick. I have tried builds from metabattle and tried out my own but i dont see this being possible with any build.

I have checked forums and everything, ppl say they do like 500-1k dmg with auto attack and about 2-3k with other attacks. thats about the same as mine with all toons and builds.

How comes ppl hit 5-10k+ in PVP if its not gear depended?

PvP may not be gear dependant, but the Amulet,sigils,runes and synergy of you and your team’s traits and your experience with that build will get you the damage you’re seeing. And I think you still need chest, boots and pants though to get armor stat(unless that’s changed?)

If you’re running support or bruiser build, you’re probably not going to see the damage you’re seeing DPS players get. It’s not ppl cheating if that’s what you’re insinuating by this thread. Well, probably not. Watch some vids and/or streams of top players to get an idea how it’s done. There are certain modifiers that will get you big crits. You just need to learn and get some more experience under your belt. Something doesn’t seem right though if you’re playing a power dps meta build and only getting 500-1k AA’s. If you’re Condi, yea. Maybe you always have weakness and getting those weak attacks? Condition dps is about stacking that condi with as much cover condies so the big damage ones like Burn don’t get cleared so you can keep stacking them. Maybe try recording yourself and watching or having one of your experienced friends take a look. You might be overlooking something simple. Practice is your friend. Mess around in a Guild Hall if you don’t already. Or 1v1 servers or something.

Instead of accusing or complaining or whatever this thread is meant to be, download a freeware vid recording program and see what it causing you to bug out. It takes minutes to set up.

I’ve never seen this happen, but I’ve seen where it pulls you up in the air on uneven surfaces. It’s always better to watch video before accusing a whole server of abusing a bug nobody else has seen before. Because that’s what you’re doing. It’s a wuss Beta move imo.

Happened in two of my NA placements in first 4-5 games I’ve played since the season started. One on my team because he was mad about a bug or something and one on the other team for idk what for. It’s not fun either way. And the baby AFKers laugh. I always imagine they’re either a tween, or an angry, lazy unemployed neckbeard. Yeah, I get frustrated with ppl making mistakes they could correct if they watched a couple vids or learned the ropes from an experienced sPvPer, but I’m not going to ruin the game for the other 3 on my team. And I make mistakes sometimes also. Sometimes you don’t predict enemy rotation well, get lag, distracted, the other team is just better than yours as a whole, you hit the wrong key ect ect. It happens. I’ve watched a ton of pro streams, most screw up or make rookie mistakes.

It’s the commander’s squad he started. That should be end of story. Make your own pick squad or something. Do you want to be included but despised for it? I wouldn’t.

Have a bunch of weak links/professions, you get 1 pushed. There are some amazing Druids and Teefs out there, and a few know how to round out a party with a proper non-selfish build, but then again you’re leaving out a proper zerg prof either way. And if you’re not multiclassing as a wvw/pvp player, you’re at a disadvantage to start. Because sometimes your only chosen prof will be trash for a few months prob. Maybe longer. Have a proper prof ready for what’s needed to round out your group. I don’t love playing healbot, but I put the time in leaning it so I can use it when my group needs one. Man, this “I want my participation trophy or riot!” type mentality I’ve seen here is saddening. That doesn’t work in gaming. Maybe in Lib arts college or in highschools out west. Not really in pvp style gaming. Incoming ban for truth incoming….

Well, it could be smart to revisit that now. Though things could even out in a week or two. I’d be happy to see WvW more popular than it has been, especially on the servers with the lower populations, just not with 150 queues all the time. I doubt that’ll last though. If they do open up new servers, my suggestion to them would be to start with just one or maybe two to get them populated and go from there.

That all PvP teams would be ditching their DD’s and Condi Chronos for Power Chronos. That unranked would be teams of 5 power mesmers vs 5 power mesmers. That zergs in WvW would be 90% power mesmers(why play anything else scrubs). That PvE raid groups would be 100% power mesmers(“Druid lfg”, diaf idiot, mesmer or gtfo). That Anet had made power mesmers gods, akin to Zerkers up until the recent series of nerfs.

OP, As a Teef you should win that matchup if skill being equal. You can’t fight every Prof the same way. PI is your friend. I run a lot of Power Mes in WvW, I’ve learned not to use the AA on GS real quick(unless they’re almost dead and running) after HoT dropped.

Only foes you’ve killed was recently being attacked by not more than 3 enemies will count towards this achievement. So roamer is much easier to gain progress on this repeatable achievement.

Ugh, DBL is horrible when you need to get around or to a callout. For solo or duo it’s especially bad. You definitely have to pick your fights better, since it takes a good while to get back to a fight. It’s a lot better than it was when it first dropped, for sure, but it still needs work.

People have given some excellent ideas. Like trying gliding in DBL to see how that helps. My suggestion to get people on the map is to have a Rumble style event every so often(couple hrs?)to replace the Megalaser area in the middle of the map. Announce on all the maps when it will start. Have a cap on the amount of players from each server in the middle area. Each server could start in a corner and when it starts, they all go at it till one side is left. It could possible be fun seeing alliances build and form and break apart between servers. Winners could get some basic junk but with chance at Ascended chests or a WvW currency used to buy Ascended chests and other hard to come by stuff for non-PvEers . The losers get maybe a lesser chance or a smaller amt of the currency or a buff like the Outnumbered buff for example. Buff strength depending on how bad they lost and/or number of people logged in for that server when the Rumble or King of The Hill or whatever it could be called starts. If tweaked out by a few experienced WvWers and that could be a really fun event, forcing people to get better at open field fighting. If you go out of bounds, you can’t go back in. Maybe even a deathmatch style one person takes all. Fighting is what is keeping the game alive for most of the veterans, not PPTing an empty borderland a large portion of the players don’t enjoy even entering. I’m not sure if it’s most of the players that really dislike it, but the word on the borderlands seem to say is it’s junk.

I have a bunch of posts and outside sources that seem to directly tie relate to the changes they were looking for when they made DBL. One of these days, I’ll get around to making a thread out of it.

Suffice to say that people complained about different things before. They were seemingly ignored and largely left the game. The folks who were still around wanted almost completely opposite things. By the time Anet implemented the changes the first group wanted, there were few people left to appreciate them. It’s not that they’re out touch completely—they’re just several years behind the trends.

That second paragraph there makes a lot of sense to me. I’ve seen that. Though it seems there is still a large percentage who wants one thing, and another camp who wants almost the opposite like the DBL poll results from a while back. A long while(can we vote again please?).

I haven’t had it happen to me personally, but I’ve been in party with quite a few who have, and I also saw it happen to a few ppl while someone was streaming a WvW raid on Twitch. It’s especially annoying when there are large queues. So yeah, it has to be fixed asap.

I didn’t read all of the posts above, after saying I don’t think it’s close to as powerful in PvP than WvW, but my suggestion with the skill and has been since they nuked it the first time was to make Chill damage work. Something unique to one Profession needs to happen. Why not bring that back, figure an acceptable damage coefficient, preferably weaker than Burn, but have stacking ability like Poison? Maybe even have the damage on the level of Poison or a little higher. It’s already a great soft CC, and can be stacked well with the right build. Like Poison, the -33% to Healing is great on it’s own, but has low damage unless stacked quite high. I think Chill damage should be on the same level. Necro doesn’t have much, making this skill work, and not be OP is something the Profession needs. And I rarely play mine anymore. I just know it needs help in some way.

Necro has been the redheaded stepchild of GW2 pvp for yrs now. Competitive builds don’t last very long for Necro. Though with the way the skill is now, it’s harder to counter than the last iteration of Chill damage before it was totally changed. Instead of 1 condition to clear, you have 2 to mitigate along with the other cover conditions flying around. I think a rework to Chill damage will be good for both the Necro and their opponent if done correctly. Just my opinion. Nothing will work if they don’t do real testing before full implementation. That’s for sure.

Forget the formulas, I tested it. The chieftain is a great test because he always opens with the same hit which apparently cannot crit.

Test done on Ranger:
Upping my toughness by 1200 points decreased damage by 33%. Upping my vitality by 1200 points increased health pool by 75%. Considering how bursty this game is, toughness desperately needs a redesign and to apply (perhaps especially) to condition damage.

Enough said.

Toughness vs power is fine as is. If it negated more damage then what do you thing would happen when you stack protection on top? Unkillable bunkers again.

As for condi damage….I’d rather a rework to condi in general

Yeah, it’s a build that’s been around. I played with it in EOTM a couple times. It’s hilarious. I even think a version of the build was on Metabattle. Or could still be. It’s trolly, yea, but so are using ACs, Mortars and other siege on players then. It’s actually a good tactic. Burn should work on siege. IMO not a problem. But then should siege be able to have resistance? Idk, it’s something to talk about though. If siege didn’t hurt players, maybe I’d think differently about the tactic?

I’m fine with ascended gear in WvW giving you higher stats, after all you had to work for it, and the equipment does indeed have higher stats.

However, what I am not fine with is that every stat combo that is allowed in PvE is allowed in WvW as well. Some of those stat combos were removed from PvP because they were deemed to be too good for a competitive environment, yet they are still allowed in WvW. So which is it Anet? Personally, gearwise for WvW, I really want to see Anet normalize WvW with PvP. Any stat combination that is not available in PvP should not be available in WvW either. Similarly, any rune or sigil that is removed from PvP should be removed from WvW, with few to no exceptions. I’ll leave the logistics of how this should happen up to Anet, but I do think its something that should happen soon.

It is different sizes and different builds. That doesn’t change the fact that some stat combinations were deemed to be too powerful for a competitive setting, which is why they were removed from PvP. Since they are too powerful for a competitive setting, they should also be removed from WvW, since its also a competitive setting.

And really, you can be competitive in exotics in WvW. The difference between full ascended and full exotics isn’t that large (especially if you have ascended trinkets and/or an ascended weapon), certainly not large enough to make you lose if you are more skilled than the opponent.

I agree 100%. I’ve played 3yrs in wvw and have never felt the need to make even ascended armor because I feel at a disadvantage. I do have ascended trinks because of ring drops in wvw, and a couple hrs of winterberry farming gets a full set. To me that’s worth the 5% in stats or to get HoT stat combos. Yeah, Legendary armor would be nice to be able to change stats easily, but it wouldn’t be OP or anything.

Anet refuses to do anything about the hackers (all forms, weither it be condi resistance hackers, obstruction under the map hackers, wall pass through hackers etc) which just goes to show that anet doesn’t give a kitten about this game mode.

One year into the game, anet would have banned these guys with no problem (they even implemented server software to catch the bots and specific loot hacks back in the first few months of the game) but.. since then they just dont care.

This game isn’t the cash cow that it once was… and the expansions are mediocre at best. The only way they will do anything about wvw is if it starts cutting into their bottom line, and right now they make 70% or so (i would guess) from players switching servers every few months that are trying to stay ahead of the new scoring system and stacked, hacking servers like mag.

It took them only 16 days from the time that was posted on Reddit to finally do something about ghost thief, when WvW players have been complaining about it for months.

My observations: at least 1 player here had suggested many weeks ago that damage be added to thief traps so the thief will be revealed when the trap is triggered. It’s been suggested multiple times before the most recent balance update.

Months of complaints about ghost thief in WvW: nothing done about it.

Show you can solo a raid boss with it: Oh Lord Almighty! We can’t have that! Nerf it ASAP!

QFT. At least 2 yrs ppl been asking for nerfs. Like condi Mesmer in some ways. And HoT made them both even stronger(I don’t complain though, I like tough fights unless I’m trying to get across the map). Though over 3/4 of the condi Teefs are/have been horribad at the game. There’s more good condi Chronos lately it seems. IMO it’s because it’s been the PvP meta for a while now and it’s an easy build to be good at.

I’m not quite sure what you mean by blast turret F2? F2 is the toolbelt skill of what skill you have at 7. Did you mean hitting F1 twice in succession?

Ahhh, I thought that was just lag. I usually only use Hammer in large scale WvW, so lag made sense to me. That’s just nuts to see in slow motion. At least now I know how to face to hit the enemy. Leap over them and stay facing away. ROFL. Should be an easy fix though. But we say that about a lot of things here, amrite?

Ranked had 5 man teams between season 5 and 6. However since season 5, the ranked only let’s you team with one partner during the season. I assume since you have 200 hours in you are at least level 20 in pvp and aren’t confusing ranked and unranked arenas.

It only happened to me in Ranked, I’ve never got matched against a full team in unranked.

It was maybe in one of those seasons I guess, but still about 2 days ago 3 players had the same guild tag and they were on the same team so I still don’t get it.

I’ve never tried to play with a group so I don’t really know the limitations sorry about that, I should have explained that as well haha.

Or possibly it was a community guild tag like Mist Initiative for example. People who have played with or against each other form a guild to be able to easily find pvpers they know aren’t trash to queue with. And even then many don’t even get on TS unless tryharding. Just my guess. Though I think it’s really foolish there isn’t VoIP at least in sPvP in this game. I play a bunch of different games, and I think this is the actual only one that doesn’t have voice chat for pvp. Feels like the late 90s having to type while in combat.

But anyhow, welcome to gw2(truthfully). PvP and WvW is dying out though, sadly. So much potential kittened away on PvE and Devs who didn’t play the mode they were in charge of(WvW).

Imagine if that was 62 Burn stacks instead of Bleed. Would have been insta-dropped. Makes me laugh seeing people drop when they run up to siege, downy or a Lord and gets dropped by an Epi or three. I’m just lucky I rarely get hit by it for some reason. I do keep my eye open for it when I see a Necro with condi food though and I used to play Necro quite a bit so that helps I guess.

99.9% of the time I’m the person in here saying L2p to players complaining and crying nerf(because usually they need to hear it tbh), but I can’t say Epi doesn’t need a rework in some form. I can agree that in the hands of a somewhat good player, the right comp and against the right comp it’s crazy strong. I can point you to a couple havok guilds who have collected a lot of salt and tears based around Epi. But not many smallish groups like them can really put it to great effect in open field. Or do.

There’s been a few good/fair ideas put forth by people here and around the Borderlands. Like for eg. removing Unblockable, or having a cap on the stacks of condis like a revert to 25 stacks or a certain amount of stacks per type on condition(for wvw only). Ect ect. Though only one small change to test would be the right thing to do. All I know is I just don’t want the skill nerfed to the ground. Even though I haven’t been playing Condi Reaper in a long time. Maybe if Anet brought back chill damage. Weren’t they supposed to be working on it and the trait in it’s place is just a placeholder till then? Or did they give up like they did on WvW and PvP?

Warrior had all of its movement skills cut by 33% from where they used to be, once they stopped being affected by swiftness.

Warrior’s pretty middle of the pack now in terms of movement, to a large extent because it can’t take advantage of porting up to ledges, etc. Even if you build for speed (running sword instead of axe, mace, etc., running Bull’s Charge), several classes can keep pace depending on build.

That’s a pretty dead-on assessment. Warrior probably isn’t even in top 3 in roaming mobility but it’s close. The mobility is pretty good(like you stated)if you use Sword/x GS and Warrior’s Sprint in Discipline tree ect ect. Being able to port and port multiple times and sometimes in stealth is on another level of mobility.

It’s a definite head shaker. Made me lmao.

Condi Chrono has been meta in pvp for many months now. i don’t have the time to explain to you how to fight them, but if you watch some recent tournament vids and watch how the pros deal with them. Whether it’s fighting or picking their fights and know their build can’t fight them alone ect. Another piece of advice if not said yet is to practice a bit on the build that is killing you and your party. Before it was pvp meta, Condi Mes was the WvW troll king. It got some nerfs along the way, many of them needed, but it’s not unkillable. But still very powerful. Especially if you’re not really paying attention, know how to manage conditions and how to dodge clone shatters correctly. Solo you need to know what your weaknesses are and what builds out there you counter ect. Just do the work and learn to kill Condi Mes. Lots of time wasted making and replying to the thread instead of getting your kittening revenge! Go learn young grasshopper, don’t complain.

If you choose not to respect another’s playstyle, then they have equal right to just come after you and kill you, over and over again.

Most duellers duel to improve skill set so they are the best they can be at their class.

That’s pretty well put. It’s definitely a respect thing. It’s a 4 yr old culture so to speak that most players respect and some will make it a full time job hunting you down with groups if you keep at it. It’s not hard to run past a GvG or someone dueling. But hey, this game is getting boring, I get doing whatever you have to do have fun m8. There’s definitely no rules against it.

Mag can put a blob out 70 out 24/7 and BG cannot. Which has more players? Many BG WvW players that are counted, as part of the population, only play EotM and that map should not be counted.

Exaggerating doesn’t help your point at all. You should be upset at the players on your server who go to EOTM to train on underlevels. You admitted in your post that you have the numbers, but are hiding. Get in EOTM and convince them to come back. Exaggerating that Mag has 70 man blobs 24/7 won’t help one little bit.

Nothing to debate here, DH is undoubtedly the most skill-devoid low risk & high reward profession in the current meta. Sorry, that’s just a fact proven by the droves of FotMers flocking to it.

Yes, it can be countered at higher levels of play, especially in team play, I fully believe this to be true…but that in no way makes up for the fact that DH absolutely dominates low and mid ranks, and makes the game highly unenjoyable when facing stacked DHs without DHs of your own. (Yes, that’s when I swap to DH too. Yeah me! It’s currently complete braindead garbage EZ mode. I have no clue how to play a DH and yet I can succeed more so than with my main that I’ve played since beta.)

And to whomever said DH is weak to Conditions either doesn’t know how to play a DH, or has a very different definition of a “weakness” then any non-DH profession has.

You took word out of my mouth/fingers. Nothing against DH at all, and I’m not saying ppl who main them are trash or anything of the sort, but it’s as braindead as they come in this meta. It has everything a pvp meta build needs in spades practically except maybe team heals. DH hands down brings way more to a team than War, why are ppl even arguing that? Kite out War’s EP and it should be GG saying skill is equal. I’m not complaining about DH at all, I play everything. Just my 2 cents for this discussion.
