Great fights tonight. Felt like a 10 minute battle between hills and garrison, JQ ruined it by getting in the garri lol. The take of Cliffside was amazing

We had alot of battles that JQ kept spoiling for us, was very good fights and that 10 min was quite fun. Can we have you guys all week?

Yeah, there were quite a few fights, where the pull off call was made mid battle because of JQ hitting at the same time. Was fun though, the battle between garri and hills was fun as well but you guys kept reinforcing faster than us because you had open port at hills while ours was closed because of the treb from cliff. Still a lot of fun.

Not even sure why the KnT dude went crazy and started flaming SoR’s TS in the thread, some people forget it’s just a game and just got to relax and breathe sometimes.

It’s going to be another great week, have fun JQ, BG, SoR. And JQ keep kicking that kitten and bringing the pain, awesome to see.

People like to think they are special when in reality they are not.

It’s amusing how much of an uproar BG’ers made from getting banned from SoR’s TS.

It’s not an exclusive club(or maybe it is the way you guys are making it out to be), it’s just a voip, and there are no lack of other ones to congregate on and be friendly with opposing servers if that is your desire.

Maybe they need an Indo of their own. If Indo has rallied as many SoR as he has on an underpopulated server, there is no reason why another leader cannot do the same on a FULL server.

Last I checked SoR does not have a monopoly on community building and leadership.

ok so answer me this, if SOR is the third most used ts in NA and 12th in the world how can you say BG is stacked? If those are true rankings and according to Indo when defending his bans he claimed it was a 100% wvw ts. This would mean that SOR would have more coordinated wvw players than any other server correct? This would mean that BG and JQ either have a kitten ton of pugs or they have pve players that SOR does not.

Not saying you in particular, but it is a long time saying by members of SOR that BG is stacked and if my info is correct this #2 or 3 spot thing is no new development.

Word on the street is that they are going to merge the bottom 6-9 servers into the rest next month.

That should help with the dwindling WvW populations.

I would like to congratulate Sanctum of Rall on their first tier 1 victory!

I remember back in October, after HoD collapsed, 2 super servers were brewing in the lower tiers. One was Sea of Sorrows, the other was Sanctum of Rall. They met in tier 3 for the first time, with both sides putting in amazing fights and the momentum of the match up constantly swinging with the other server trying to punch harder than the other. The best thing about this match up was not the scores, but the fights had on the field. A lot of people who were on SoS agree that SoR NA gave the best fights, were the most skilled and organized Americans of any server SoS ever faced. SoR were better than the servers in tier 1.

Sanctum of Rall has had to be consecutive runners up over a very long period of time. Yet their guilds have stayed loyal to the server, and stayed strong. Many of the guilds I saw all those months ago, are still on SoR today.

But it is not only the old guilds that have made SoR server, the new arrivals that have moved to SoR, have had the guts to join the underdog in order to balance the competition. These guilds must also be congratulated and have contributed just as much as anyone else on SoR!

Sanctum of Rall has a lot of skill and organization, WvW is based around coverage,. But SoR has not won tier 1 through coverage, they’ve won it through courage!

Thank you for your kind words, getting the win against 2 strong servers such as BG and JQ makes it all the more special for us. Whether we keep the title for an extended period of time or not, the ride was amazing and more importantly we look forward to a fun and competitive T1 through the summer and we on SoR truly hope it stays balanced regardless of who takes the #1 spot.

We have purposefully turned away three guilds in the last week from transferring here for now as we do not know how the true balance of the tier is. It is our hope that we can all create a fun and competitive tier so that everyone can enjoy WvW without all the negativity.

Whatever the case may be for each server, be transparent with the movement otherwise this fragile balance will get skewed before anyone even knows what happened.

I think it’s fair no one wants to see SoR, or BG, or JQ in a position of unquestionable dominance again purely due to coverage.

Just out of curiosity, would anyone’s server care to confirm how many guilds they are getting and what TZ?

We know JQ is getting PYRO (400 players, 15-20 Euro, 60-70 NA). We’ve heard they are also picking up another 40 man NA.
We’ve heard BG is picking up 2 Euro and 2 NA.

Anyone’s rep care to comment though? Give us all something to look forward to. Also, if we are transparent in our movements, maybe we can balance the tier by ourselves moving forward and not have a ridiculous overstacked server again.

JQ seem like a decent enough bunch and I think it’s the general thoughts of SoR that we enjoy having them as our enemy. That being said, as the balance of power is currently shifted and you are looking for a server, JQ is a good choice if you are NA or Euro.

Also JQ while we support your recruitment efforts, please do so responsibly. Do not overstack, please just properly measure your coverage gaps and fill them to counter your enemy, not demolish it like you had before free transfers were closed. We have an opportunity here to make a balanced tier, lets do that together.

Oh really, the countless hours we have spent every single day in home borderlands, keep our keeps safe from both bg and sor during na prime, with no guilds stepping it up to push tw in their home bl, while we try to push sor bl sometimes, no other guilds would take charge of the home bl and lose everything there (when they try to, usually they fail to defend any), atleast we try to push tw often, any other guilds in JQ dare to try it? NO. we have sf, ward & stei and his shenanigans followers stacking up in BGBL doing kitten rping or one of their so called drunk nights or w/e, This is the kind of attitude from some of JQ community on why we finally decided to leave, not running away from competition, but to be with a better community.

SF has never avoided a fight, in fact for the last month we’ve been picking maps with the hopes of getting lucky and fighting TW all night. We love those guys as it’s the best SoR has to offer during N/A primetime

For you to think we picked maps to avoid them just shows how far away from reality that you and noodles were.

I run with TW when I can and tbh, guilds do tend to avoid them completely.

SOR had a good showing this week. They had more numbers at certain times which is understandable when you are pushing for first place for the first time. Some of their main guilds may have not put in “overtime” but some of their pve population which didnt seem existent last week (didn’t even think SOR had one lol) showed up. That being said, alot of even number fights they won too. I remember someone in voice complaining about their blob as an excuse for losing fights (we had a que on the map).

Coming from Kaineng, i remember reading the t1 thread and people talking about how they couldn’t wait for Kaineng to come up and replace SOR (L2glicko/math). I think we need to praise SOR for their resilience in T1. Great fights this week and keep it classy guys!

Honestly, no one on SoR expected the win, we still don’t because anything can happen, it’s only Wednesday. Still 3 full days of WvW left.

That being said, we love having IRON over, they really are a fantastic guild.

I think someone from BG said it earlier, while we aren’t the largest server in the slightest and while we are outmanned a lot of the times throughout the day, and we have no where close to 24/7 coverage, somehow SoR has managed to slowly pick up only WvW orientated guilds on its way up from #17.

I really look at SoR like the battle hardened rag tag bunch of warriors that will never die and never give up fighting.

Also, I have it from a good source that BG is going to go MIA for the rest of WvW this week to prove to IRON that there is no competition in T1 NA in the hopes that they get bored and to motivate the Euro guild they are “in talks” with to come over because they need help.

It’s an interesting plan though I don’t believe you will get the exact result you are hoping for.

I think you will probably get that Euro guild but IRON isn’t going to stop playing because of your inactivity.

Either way, I hope you get that Euro guild if objectively that will balance the tier more(I don’t think this week is a good indicator of the tier, but if after next week it seems that it’s needed, hope you get it).

Are we planning for the Sanghae/Cuddlestrike wedding this summer?

I don’t think being #1 is anything new to them considering they were on JQ when it first got to the #1 spot before they came to SoR back when it was #17.

And from what I hear from Indo/TW in TS, they are hoping that SoR does not run away with it because they like the underdog grind and enjoy building the community more than the end result of being #1.

Basically, even though DB missed a good window when they first came into T2. Now the quickest way into T1 is to just win by small margins until whoever is the lowest in T1 is done giving up max GLICK-probably JQ-, on the week they are giving up less than 10 GLICK-check via Millenium- go balls to the wall on the score and TADA, welcome to T1.

I didn’t hear any BG complaining when they were ticking at 500ppt during Euro the last 3 weeks.

This week isn’t a good indicator of the tier quite frankly.

Next week is the real “new” matchup.

We are the smallest server of the 3.

Honestly, it’s just the pve that is keeping BG and JQ down.

Once this pve goodness is gone, it’ll be anyone’s game. SoR still won’t have the 24/7 coverage but we’ll keep fighting hard.

Agreed. JQ lost a 10k+ ppt advantage going into the school/work week last round…..

No ones going to be able to tick 400++ ppt for hours on end during the weekends when players are staying up late to play. Work/School week however is a different animal…everyone in Tier 1 should know this by now, haha.

This is exactly how we on Blackgate have won the past few weeks. We let JQ go nuts on the weekend, and during the week we slowly get point advantage.
Matches are not decided on the weekend, they’re decided Monday-Thursday.

This x 100. A week long match is 7 days. No one should be inferring anything one way or another from this weekend.

Welcome IRON, T1 NA in general is better with you guys in it.

All the T1 servers are resilient, hence they are in T1.

Coverage wise though I’d still rank the servers as follows:

1. JQ/BG
3. SoR

I don’t get it, did the addition of one EU guild really kickstart SOR that much? Of course I am very happy for my server and grateful to IRON for having the balls to transfer to the underdog server, but I’m hoping this power is sustainable past this weekend and that people aren’t burning themselves out through long hours. And if it is, lets be more classy about it than JQ/BG have been. “Winning” has always been a numbers/coverage issue rather than skill. A trash server would never have made it to T1.

I don’t know if there is overtime, but I think regardless IRON will make SoR more competitive for 2 reasons:
1. They are a really good guild.
2. They tie into SoR’s already strong NA. SoR while still the underdog coverage wise, has a 2 timezone tie in. The Euro will tie into the NA, which will create a strong combo of high ppt for almost 12 hours.

Thanks for the fights IRON/HIRE/NYS, tbh we kinda did see the IRON tag and follow you around the map because I wanted to push you so you would push back. Nice to see IRON is pretty solid on open field, I just hope that they play more independently as opposed to the current SoR Meta of blobing it up in oceanic (I know it wasn’t your primetime) and disregarding all other maps. Regardless, its good to see a fresh face to the tier, and welcome to tier 1 NA.

Yep that full map zerg that you have to bait and switch every night is actually a large group of mesmers right? Nah, and we’ll never GvG HIRE as there generally needs to be a tad of respect there to do so – and we’ve received nothing but trash from your guild and we’d prefer to play WvW.

We’d only GvG if there was an organized and balanced GvG mode in the game, there are a couple of guilds I wouldn’t mind doing it with (IRON, NYS, SF, FOO, ATM etc) but HIRE is not self sufficient as you need another force to do anything (ala. can only fight when outnumbering enemies and running to towers when numbers are equal) so I don’t see why you’re in a situation to try and make demands.

Anyway, I don’t speak for the guild on a large level as I am only one of the few commanders in the guild and only comment upon what I see ingame. You can keep your delusional crap to yourself.

Why do guilds make so many excuses to avoid GvGing?
