DAOC didn’t have “ppt”, which is probably the worst idea for any 24/7 game. If you don’t have equal coverage, you automatically are at a disadvantage.

DAOC measured RPs, guild points, and RR. That was their measuring stick for people who like numbers on a webpage, which Anet still hasn’t done 1 year in.

Wars were never ending, even if one realm had a lock down for 3 days on something, you knew you would get a window down the road to get it back. Right now all the action is limited to 7 days and you are penalized for not maintaining territory.

They really shouldn’t have tried to re-invent the wheel, especially when they had mythic employees on board to give them counsel. Their WvW game is dying, but they have no one to blame but themselves.

From what I’ve seen of all GvGs, going OOC is fine, that player runs the risk of the fight being over before he comes back or getting sniped by the periphery dps if he runs away alone, but there’s nothing illegal about that.

As far as running into spectators, this is the reason why guilds like RG, TW, etc are always harping about no spectators, because technically you can use the entire playing field, but when people start fighting in, near or running towards the spectators, things get ugly.

As far as calling in spectators, that’s a blatant nono. Should never happen and goes back towards point #2.

Great night SoS and TC. You guys really are a fun fight. Although coverage will more than likely dictate the winner of this matchup, hopefully we can still have fun together and enjoy the fights.

As for the SoR trolls, just ignore them, they don’t represent the majority nor do we even know who more than half of them are or if they really even play on SoR.

Any1 else notice that our tier 1 ratings are slowly dropping amongst all 3 giants even if any1 of us came first. Why is this so?

No one is pulling out huge wins anymore. If anyone is winning, it’s usually around 10-20k.

Smaller wins are better imho, that means the servers are getting closer and closer to being balanced.

Maybe one day we will be lucky enough to keep playing for 1-2k wins. How amazing would that be.

are? I’ve never seen them despite being on that server…and trust me I’ve seen every single guild. Also why are the contact names similar? And why have they all played against each other, some JQ guild I’ve never seen, and ESOL? Not to accuse anyone of anything, but these two guilds look fake and have been possibly created to gain free illegit points on GW2GvG. If anyone on SoR has ever seen any of the two guilds please correct me, but I have never seen them, despite asking everyone I know and despite being on this server for over 7 months…

As someone who follows the GvG scene very closely and who resides on SoR. Those are not SoR guilds.

What about Hip Squad which resides on FA?

It seems that out of that combination, only ESOL is the real guild. High Knights-(SoR), VOID-(SoR) and Hip Squad-(FA) I’ve never heard of. Those 4 guilds have only gvg’d against each other with ESOL taking rating from the other 3.

Not that it matters since it’s obvious this seems to be just old servermates being bitter and angry about a guild that left, but isn’t that a screenshot from JQ’s spawn point to their spawn camp?

So essentially you had JQ’s entire BL mass flooding the camp over and over and they still couldn’t save it but are complaining about numbers even though it’s obvious that they are chain spawning into the camp?

Still not sure what point SG/SF are trying to make, it really just makes you guys seem petty and bitter over the fact that WARD/ACO left your server. You guys should just give it a rest, no one is going to think bad of WARD or ACO because of what you guys say on the boards. And that quite frankly goes for every player and every guild. Everyone makes their own judgments, you aren’t going to be ‘proving’ anything by talking ill of anyone, except for maybe the fact that you have too much time on your hands to be besmirching a group of players over a video game.

Guilds on your own server don’t GvG, why don’t you address them also – we are a WvW guild and play as its designed to be played. Sure we don’t GvG regularly, but only a small fraction of the guild is against it happening – I was just saying its a shame that it will likely become less common as the new changes will upset some of the more hardcore GvG players. There is nothing wrong with appreciating skilled play.

I don’t disagree with you, and I’m glad you are all for GvGs now. But you should start running MERC as a guild group and doing more GvGs if that is how you really feel.

Honestly, I think MEOW is probably a great example of what a guild should run like. They are a monster on the field and very good at GvG too. And I’ve never seen them run more than 20-25, but they do a lot of damage.

Yes we won’t be stuck in the typical threesome for a couple of weeks but in reality this change is only short term and we’ll be back to normal after the old T1 servers annihilate the old lower tiers and we’re back to SoR/BG/JQ. Its a shame GvG will be dead pretty soon from borderland bloodlust (increased passive stat bonuses massively skew the outcome of a 15v15 or a 20v20), it might’ve been what will would have kept us interested for those weeks.

Relax guys, it’s just a game.

The TW dude is the only one here who is posting without drama or trolling, what is the world coming to.

Both servers are probably the most stable of any in NA.

Both servers have their own histories and community highlights.

Both servers have the strongest NA population of any other.

Both servers seem to have drama free environments.

At the end of the day, you’ll have to do your homework, personally I don’t think you can go wrong either way. Those 2 servers are currently the premier servers to be on if longevity, stability, and strong community are important to you.

Their NA population is equivalent to SoR.

Would this mean accordingly, that if a player prior to the start of the league is picking the most probable winner, transferring there for one week, then transferring back to his home server, would secure himself “gold” (1st place) rewards for a season of multiple weeks? If so, please find a solution for that, especially since EU consists of several national servers.

Example:

Day 1 – every french is transferring to Vizunah (the winner of gold league, no doubt about that, they did it just for the pride, now there`s even more incentive…), securing himself top tier rewards, then switching back would mean almost no harm/punishment for him, but corrupting the system heavily.

That link is probably the best place to start for anyone who is wvw orientated and is looking for a guild.

It’s really a shame that certain guilds from all server try to ruin GvGs.

Especially on a night like this when the match is more or less over.

Guilds like BT from BG, FEAR from SoR, and SF from JQ should try and respect other people’s game regardless of how you feel about GvG. At the end of the day, it’s a game and people are out there to have fun, let them play the game and get what enjoyment out of it they want.

Really not needed to troll the GvG game, especially because the orbs may kill it soon.

So now that the weekend is over it’s clear this week is going to be the following in NA prime:

- SoR capping out every map with it’s organized zergs
- JQ capping out JQBL and EB with PUGS, maybe BGBL will flirt with a queue but will mostly be small guild groups and PuGs
- BG tapping out completely and not bothering to show

Most boring T1 week in ages. Either JQ needs to get kicked down to T2 for another week or two or BG needs to get kicked for TC.

Why not kick SoR down to T2 instead? :P

We do come out for fights when you run on your own and we have more than 15.

Right now we are running around with 18, trying to keep what we can with BG beeing outmanned in 3/4 maps. When you do form up that many that you cause skill lag we will port out of the map. Its not fun to play like that

You should GvG IRON.

Change the ppt system so that ALL 24 servers can COMPETITIVELY fight each other.

Allow different opponents and different fights.

The garrison fights were meh at best, wayyy too much lag.

The bay fights and the other open field fights were fun once the lag settled down.

Also, it may not transcend beyond each borderland. So there won’t be a cumulative effect like before.

It’s actually a stat buff, I believe 5% boost to hp and +50 to all stats, but supposedly it’ll be easier to reset.

It will be interesting to see who will have the most golds between the 2 for the old meta before they change it.

There is one way to win a wvw week matchup and it’s not only open field fights but ppt. I believe even if JQ or BG are going after ppt playing wvw as it’s intended they also love to go on open fields with a goal behind it unlike SoR that focus only on open field fights without any achievements. How can people can enjoy open field fights on SoR side if they keep wiping with no clear goal nor achievement: because of this I don’t think SoR will grow anyhow to be more competitive. You are not playing the same game and you can’t win… The only to have some fun are your few guilds stating open field fight focus only, like you don’t care of all other people on SoR community (may be it’s easier for these guilds to say that open field fights is their goal and not caring of ppt instead of taking the challenge to be real wvw guilds working for their server or even recognising that they fail at playing wvw as its intended) If it happens you win some open fields fights what do you achieve? About GvG you can do anything you want it’s too late the legend has been written already by [RG] and Sacrx: you would only be some pale imitations now… so play wvw ^^

The only way to win a WvW match up is to have better coverage than the other servers… that’s it. Since we don’t have the coverage, we focus on fights.

There are many up and coming EU and NA guilds that are currently writing their legends in GvG as we speak, since RG retired I’m pretty sure they will eventually be surpassed.

Thank goodness I created a “nonfactor” folder.

The funny thing about this all is that TKG was headhunted from JQ by BG.

ACO and WARD came over on their own to SoR. Most on SoR didn’t even know they were coming. But we are all very happy they did, they are really fun to work on a map with and they are a strong crew. Good peeps all around, fit perfectly on SoR quite frankly.

Would be nice to put a tag to the bag that’s all.
