Why don’t Mag and DB just agree now before the match starts to tag team Kan? It would make the match a lot more fun.
Problem with making the maps bigger is that I know people who think the maps are big enough or too big. They don’t like having to run far.
So how about this. Make one/some of the maps bigger and more spread out. That way you could choose which size map you want to play on.
I love the Thief is easy to kill posts, clearly the problem is lack of skill by every other class besides the thief.
No it’s not a lack of skill with other classes a lot of people on other classes have no problem fighting thief. No what most of the people here are saying is the problems sits between the chair and the keyboard.

That’s my point – there is one dominant server – so the logical thing to do is for the other two to gang up on them.
I have a feeling you’re right though – stupid human nature, we’re nothing but animals that happen to have large brains. Too bad we revert to our hindbrain way too often – better to attack the easy target and maybe we won’t come in last rather than cooperate and take on the challenge of the big guy.
Stop engaging in the wrong kind of 2 v 1.
A lot of the imbalance in scores (after the tiers get relatively competitive) is caused by players 2 v 1ing the wrong team.
Play it like it was intended – Anet even said this is the reason they made it three servers fighting not two – the 2nd and 3rd place servers need to gang up on the first place server! This would help to alleviate blowouts and thus help morale and people wouldn’t give up halfway through the week.
Why does this not occur? It is so obvious.

I’m not sure what you mean actually. It takes 10 people to start the BL event to capture the spawn tower. I’ve never done the others.
I think the BL one is great and should be taken advantage of at every opportunity. It only appears if you have no towers/keeps on your BL (hence my not understanding what you mean when you say numerically superior force or a force that holds a majority of territory).
I’ve been leveling 6 toons in WvW. My first and main was Mesmer. I’m not sure what class would be best but I can say I would not pick a Mesmer again if I had to do it over. I just felt really underpowered as a Mes compared to the others I’ve tried.
I think I liked Guardian and Ele best (at low level at least). Ranger is fun too. Never tried Necro or Engi.
Is it possible for Blackgate to come in 2nd place but still drop to T2? If it is done entirely by the Glicko score that’s what could happen.
Man that would just be wrong.
Given the massive shakeup in some servers I think a manual adjustment of the top tiers is needed after this week. The Glicko system is going to take too long to adjust to all the guild movements.
For example, Kaineng is going to be stuck stomping CD and Yaks forever (and they’re going to have to put up with it) and SBI is going to get crushed until they drop a couple of tiers.
Manual adjustments after next week imho should be:
1: SoS/JQ/BG or SoR whomever ends up there on Feb 1 (no manual adj)
2: BG or SoR/TC/winner of Mag, FA, DB
3: Second and third place of Mag, FA, DB plus Kaineng
4: SBI/CD/Yaks
Just started for me today. I am disconnecting every 20 minutes or so. It says the client has lost connection with the server. I have not changed a thing on my computer.
Not at all keen on this breakout event. Just more pve in wvw, I don’t get it.
If a server needs to get a foothold in a border they need to get organsied and take forces to that border. Give the old 3 orb buff to outmanned servers, this breakout idea is just pve trash and will completely change the mechanics of the game, but not in a good way.
How often will this event start? How long will this npc last for? So it will be pointless attacking towers/keeps near spawn or defending them?
I like it myself. If a server has no structures on a map, it is discouraging and hard to get people to come to that map. This is something to help them get organized and encourage forces to come to the map. It is something for a team to rally around.
I do like the idea of the orbs returning to help the outmanned team too. And I’m sure we’ll get more details.
Regarding sweeping for Mesmers – that is part of the problem – at least make the portal not be able to go through walls and intact gates. Nah, scratch that – just get rid of them entirely.
If you can’t take two measley minutes to walk around and thoroughly check the place, quite frankly you deserve to be back door’d by a mesmer.
If you sweep for just two minutes in SM and the Keeps, you will get portal bombed. My point is that one person hiding should not be able to re-take a stronghold like that regardless of if you sweep or not.
But that persons whole ability to portal into keeps is all on the hopes they aren’t seen. When I’m commanding all I say is, Sweep, everyone sweeps. Mesmers are flushed out and portalling isn’t possible. With just a few of you, you can thoroughly sweep every keep and Stonemist in 2 minutes, or 3 tops.
One person doesn’t retake the keep, he simply gets the people to do so in there, which if you sweep, he cannot do.
I realize one person doesn’t take it back but that one person is necessary for taking it back. I’ve known Mesmers to be able to hide through a sweep (you can say it wasn’t a good sweep but that’s beside the point).
I just don’t think its right for one person to have that ability to get a whole army through walls. And it as I said, I think it strengthens the already strong. I guess we just disagree.

Agree that portals should go. My reasoning is that, like orbs did, it gives even more of an advantage to the alreay advantaged – the stronger or more organized teams. I’m glad they got rid of orbs. Wish they’d get rid of portals. (And Mes is my main).

2) Mesmer portals. Agree on limitation. At least make them not be able to go through walls. If a tower or keep is secure with no open walls or gates a portal should not be able to go through that. Sweeping for hiding mesmers is lame.
Awesome battles – cheers to all three servers! Best time in WvW since Beta. This is what I was wanting from WvW all along – relatively even, great battles, three teams giving it their all. Let’s hope it continues – Fight On!
every major wvw server is recruiting from other servers. just read these forums and you will see it. hell we have members from IOJ and SOS spamming our LA right now. at the end of the day recruiting is absolutely mandatory to compete at higher levels.

i was going to let this go.. but really? i mean really? just because we recruit to our server means we are trying to kill the game? its not like we are slaving your members away. anyone who transfers does it willingly. i also actively support you guys organizing yourselves to fight us. in another thread i gave you the guidelines to setting up a successful alliance to fight us.
we have no intention of killing your server, we will however accept people who wish to leave as we are still a really REALLY low population server.
i dont see how this has anything to do with my real life, i happen to have a fairly active social life, i just also happen to use gaming as my hobby, and i take a small amount of pride in the work that my guild does. now would i run around parties telling every girl i meet that im leet in pvp and long term strategy… hell no, but in this environment i see fit to defend our server’s position.
again we neither exploit or break the spirit of gameplay by 1. winning 2. recruiting.
So you all don’t have long queues on ET?
i know we are sending “diplomatic” missions to other servers at late night to recruit for next weeks battle.
Really? Really? You guys go to recruit guilds from other servers to fight for you on an already 2 hour queued server?

Yeah, you can’t mean that panda. In fact, I was flabbergasted when I heard that Ruin was on ET with Team Legacy (and the rest of AA?). And this is the problem.
We (the guild wars community) have outsmarted ourselves. We got the idea to make these huge alliances of the best guilds to try to win at WvW. Turns out to be a terrible idea. We have created four servers that outmatch all others by miles and have huge queues to play (so no one can get on to play with their friends and guildies).
Ruin or TL by themselves could form the basis of a great server in WvW – and they combined with each other plus a huge alliance? Same goes for Titan on HoD. And the guilds on JQ and SBI.
The only solution to this is the alliances need to break up. Period. I’ve seen all the arguments against Anets request that people move but it has to be done. And not just an alliance moving to another server. The alliances must break up and distribute themselves more evenly amongst the servers.
