One more problem, I find roaming very VERY difficult with lack of swiftness but I guess that just comes with being mezzy
I have the same issue. I am switching a bit between two builds . One uses Sw/Focus + GS (Phantasm), the other Sc/Pistol + Staff (Condi) and I REALLY miss the swiftness when I use spec 2. On another note I REALLY like the playstyle from a condi-spec. It`s just a matter of adjustment really. Haven`t decided what to go for yet
Centaur Runes. They really aren’t that bad.
To use centaur runes you have to give up perplexity runes, which fit this build perfectly. I’m wondering if this build would be hindered too much by replacing torch with focus for the swiftness. I know you lose a stealth ability which really sucks, but you do pick up an AOE interrupt.
@menace: I just think if you took a few more minutes to proofread your posts (BEFORE you post them) and do some quality-control it’d go a long way in helping people get your message. I love the passion, though – can tell you’re excited about this build and the mesmer profession.
As for the build itself, typically with hybrids you end up crippling yourself by trying to combine two different playstyles into a single build and I think there are a lot of those self-imposed limitations in this build particularly. I’m not arguing whether or not you enjoy it, I just think there are more efficient and proven builds out there.
Many people might hate WoW, but they never had Overflow servers , and no Loading time between areas.
No.
I thought it was fun

First I want to say thank you for sharing this build, I tried it out in WvW last night and had a lot of success and fun. Typically I would run a Sw/Torch & Staff shatter build and would have to rely on on the staff and armor stats for defense/survivability. With your build, all of the survivability comes from the combination of stealth and Prismatic Understanding.
I also love the flexibility of your build – it’s great for roaming, zerging, and with just a few utility changes works great for PvE.
I just have two tweaks that I wanted to get your input on:
1st) What do you think about taking 10 out of Dueling (drop Deceptive Evasion) and moving it into Domination to pick up the Greatsword Training trait. My argument is that this is primarily a phantasm build and the extra clones from DE aren’t really useful, whereas decreased cooldown on ALL of the Greatsword skills would be very helpful in both interrupts & phantasm generation.
2nd) Drop Empowered Illusions and pick up Halting Strike. With the pistol & greatsword you have 2 on demand interrupts (#5 skills) and 1 interrupt that requires very little setup (GS #2 plus F3 shatter). Halting Strike wakittenting consistently for 3.5k for me last night in WvW, which given the relatively short time frame of most WvW roam engagements seems to represent more DPS than a flat +15% to phantasm damage. Also, it’s very satisfying to see somebody go into their heal animation, interrupt it and watch them die immediately. People don’t seem to understand or be aware of the Halting Strike ability just yet, because I got a lot of messages asking me how I was able to do so much burst confusion damage. Lastly – it synergizes very well with your choice to pick-up Bountiful Interruptions and makes great use of those inherent interrupt skills that this weapon-set employs.
Please let me know your thoughts – and thank you again for sharing this build!

I know that, at most, you can have 3 illusions active at one time (clones and phantasms) and that illusions will prioritize overriding clones over phantasms. My question is about how those illusions are handled once you hit the shatter button. Do they still count towards the 3 illusion limit once you’ve activated a shatter ability?
For example, say I have 3 illusions active, none of which are near my target. I hit F1 to mind wrack and they begin running towards the target. Before they actually arrive, I hit mirror images. Will the original 3 illusions continue to exist and stay on their path to shattering on the target or will they dissipate immediately/be overridden?

You misspelled your own name in the topic?
- Blurred Frenzy: This is now evasion instead of immunity. This means it will be affected by retaliation. Increased the cooldown to 12 seconds

How exactly is this a good thing?
Is it worth keeping in mind the fact you can buy a character makeover kit, and change to any race you want?
Except you can’t.

I’m looking for a build that I can use in dungeons and WvW without having to swap out traits constantly. I love the warden’s feedback trait and kind of built my build around the idea of reflection. I also like the shatter mechanic and would prefer to use that as my main source of DPS.
I tried to design this as a survivable dps build with some support thrown in because I’ve noticed a lot of my group members going full Berserker’s are constantly being downed.
My equipment will be full Knight’s armor with Berserker weapons and accessories.
Any feedback would be great!
