Although I don’t like the interface on this Calculator, here’s the build I’ve been running since Pre Launch.
My thing has always been to be able to solo content, but when someone else comes around, I don’t have to make drastic changes to feel more useful. While I’ve switched the weapons from time to time, this trait set up can easily be modified to accommodate other weapons, just by switching the actual traits around, and not having to respec. Using the greatsword should be pretty standard. Everytime you crit, with a 5 second cooldown, you gain vigor. AH triggers. you’ve used AH before, so that should be familiar. The staff+AH is just ridiculous in groups, but the staff is decent for wave damage whilo solo’ing as well.
The gear is just to boost your damage passively. Pow/Tough/Vit gear is arguably the “best” gear for a Guardian, IMO. This is because Guardians hav a garbage base health pool, I believe it’s the lowest in the game. Retributive armor let’s you stack defense and gain crit chance. Mind you, this doesn’t have ascended gear, but the concept is the same. Soldier’s runes works well with shouts, and alleviates the main weakness of the Guardian, which is conditions.
http://www.guildwars2guru.com/topic/70142-after-100s-of-hours-my-final-guardian-build/
This is another build that someone else created, I tried it, I personally didn’t like it to much, not enough power for me, but that’s the great thing about it; you can tailor it to fit your needs. hope this helps a bit, sorry I’m longwinded :p
For leveling, I highly recommend learning, knowing, and using shouts. Having multiple boons on you at all times is immensely helpful. For weapons, the Greatsword is pretty much the one most Guardians swear by. High damage, a bit of CC, mobility, and the great Retaliation buff, makes solo’ing stuff very easy, even into Orr.
Speaking of Orr, once you hit the Orrian areas, you’re really going to want to start paying attention to exactly what is on your gear. Guardians are naturally tough, but not naturally gods. With the amount of CC Risen have, some areas can be a pain. I suggest you invest a bit into gear with vitality and toughness, since Guardians have one of the lowest base health pools in the game. The GW2 Codex has great builds on hand for leveling, and can give you a general idea of how to build your Guardian.
As for max level play, there’s really not to much of a difference, depending on how you spend your traits. For instance, my build, once I unlocked Altruistic Healing, turned into an absolute tank. The synergy between the different traits is what makes Guardians so versatile compared to other classes. You can really use almost anything and be slightly viable.
That said, when it comes to gearing up offensively, I personally like to still have survivability. Some people like using 100% Zerkers gear and weapons, with 10-20/30/30/0/10 (depending if they picked up Greatsword Damage increase 5% in the Zeal line). While it gives you tremendous damage, you’re pretty fragile. Greatswords and swords have access to some nice multi attack abilities, so this trait setup works well.
When it comes to viability, it’s really about what you want to do. Do you want to tank? Then try to have ~17K HP once you’re geared, to survive conditions, which is the bane of Guardians. Want to be full support? Most Guardians will go 0/0/30/30/10, with a staff, and the support abilities plus healing are amazing. Guardians are kind of the jack of trades with the exception of consistant long range damage. Look up some builds, and see which one’s suit you best.
I don’t know why anyone would ever buy one of the skins from the BLTH to begin with. It’s not hard to get 50 Bubble Baubles.
Takes me about 5-6 hours of farming Zone 2 to get a skin, but even then, it’s not that difficult, people want to use money for everything. sigh I wish you couldn’t sell them on the BLTC.
I’ve gotten the Shield and Sword skins just from farming Baubles. I’m not interested in the rest of the SAB. I did up to zone 3, it’s really fun, but I’d much rather make sure I get the skins for my Guardian. I just farm Zone 2, and while it’s tedious and grindy, it’s kinda fun for some reason. That said, this deleting toons and whatnot is no different than being able to grind farm anything else.
Honestly, after hundreds of hours on my Guardian as my main, I think Guardians with a staff works pretty fine. Yes, I wish we could use a Bow. A long range damage weapon would be nice. Yet, I find that my Staff works just fine for medium range damage. I’m still mixed on ranged damage on a Guardian. In the right hands, they’re already pretty strong, I’m honestly surprised they haven’t been nerfed to oblivion because of all the whining I used to see. I say fix the Scepter so that autoattack is faster.
Instead of firing semi slow moving orbs, increase the speed to the speed of a shortbow autoattack, and increase the range of the orbs.
I don’t really have an issue with unequipping, but people that run around in a dungeon naked until “an important fight” don’t really contribute to anything,. If you’re dying frequently, and even moreso if you’re naked, I’d probably get annoyed and kick as well. The whole “max level” thing is really about people wanting to do explorables as fast as possible. Usually it’s easier if you have all of your traits, because some people build full glass cannon and then wonder why their damage is low, and they die a lot as well. The level to unlock explorable mode is fine, but the content is usually daunting for a full team of those players ie AC Exp is 35, yet, full 35’s have a hard time finishing it.
Here’s my thing, in Guild Wars 1, infusion was optional. If you didn’t get infused, you could still finish the game, but you’re going to be destroyed by Mursaat, no questions asked. You could still kill the Lich and Rurik and finish the campaign, you could even be run past half the content just to finish the game. I don’t see how [Spectral] Agony and Infusion will be that much different in basic concept. Agony, as I’m to believe, is only going to be in one dungeon right now, and that’s Fractals. Since it’s a dungeon, you don’t HAVE to do it. Therefore, that makes Ascended armor kind of an alternate armor set, just like MF gear, right?
Well then there’s that part about Ascended being better. It’s only ~5 point difference. I get how everyone wants to have the very best gear and such, and honestly, I wish the stats were exactly the same, I bet half the community wouldn’t be freaking out this much. Yet, it’s not, but seriously, according to the Devs and just from the Yakkingtons Ring picture, the stat boost isn’t going to be so significant that not having it will hurt your gameplay. Another thing is that I notice the picture seems to have an upgrade slot purely for Infusion upgrades? I’m not sure how this will work with the armor, but it may be that Ascended gear can only have infusion upgrades, and not regular rune upgrades. I could be completely wrong, and if so, I’d love a link saying so.
Really, this doesn’t seem that big a deal. I’ve seen people whining that they’re going to quit if the gear treadmill starts, but I don’t think it is. If Ascended gear was 20-50+ statwise better than exotics, then I’d see a problem. Right now, it just feels like this is just an alternate set of gear for one dungeon, and that’s fine. You don’t have to get it, you don’t have to use it, and it’s obtainable from almost every source of content in the game.
I’ve done that before, and I do agree, they need to be moved to the WP after a few minutes. Also, remove the freaking name tags from dead players. In a giant open fight, that gets really annoying when the ground is littered with the names of everyone who has been slaughtered.
Wait where did you read about AoE from siege affecting X players? Sorry, this may not sound constructive, but that’s the dumbest idea for WvW balance I’ve ever heard. That really just makes zerging more efficient, and servers with more WvW presence stronger.
I agree with the debuff, but not something as destructive as MS loss. Mobility is key in WvW, hindering that would make it less fun. If they have a debuff, probably take more damage or an XP/Karma/Gold reduction debuff. This could also be tweaked to hinder the bots you see in WvW.
Based on a few friends being reported for absurd reasons, this rose a few questions in my head about the report function. I do wish my friend was unbanned, he really did nothing wrong, which makes me really uneasy about exactly how Arena Net is handling the reports from players. Skip the next two paragraphs for the suggestion.
I Necros I was recently banned for “botting”, being reported in Cursed shore. Considering that I play with this guildie a lot, and I can definitely say he is NOT using a bot program of any sort, I think this brings up a few problems. Apparently he was reported for doing the Cursed Shore Plinx event literally all day. Only time he took a break was when we did WvW. Someone reported him for botting, but I don’t see how ANet came to the conclusion that he was.
Another instance is a fellow commander in our guild. I can’t see how he was told to rename himself 2-3 times for a name that wasn’t, in my eyes, or most of our guilds, inappropriate. His name started with “soviet”. "Soviet” is derived from a Russian word signifying council, assembly, advice, harmony, concord. Yes, it was followed by a country name such as china or cuba, but I don’t see how this is offensive.
These 2 instances bring me to my suggestion. Yes, this is similar to the “Tribunal” in League of Legends, but it’s really to examine just what exactly is being reported. In the case of botting, while this may be a bit problematic, the person being reported should be given a problem to answer, a simple 1+1 or something, or a captcha (yeah, really annoying, I know). It’s easy for someone to mistake those rangers with brown bears with bots, when they could just be new players. If someone was afk, and they get reported, then the timer that tells you that you will be logged out if you don’t resume activity should begin.
As for the name reports, that needs to be brought to public attention, imo. I’ve seen people come back from renaming or bans, telling everyone what they’re original name was, and having an entire map wondering who would be so sensitive or troll enough to report them.
After the long wall of text (sorry for being long winded), I’m just saying that ANet should really consider if who they are banning and telling to rename characters really deserve it or not. My friend is pretty mad that he’s been banned for being reported for botting, when he hasn’t at all, not even using gold farmers.
As I’m to understand, the Ascended gear isn’t going to be that much better than Exotics, but it’s the only way to get infused, which protects from Agony, which is only seen in Fractals of the Mists. If so, then it really doesn’t matter if we get the gear or not, the stats may not be as much of an upgrade as people think. According to the picture of the ring shown, the stat difference was only 2-3 points on an accessory. I think it’s safe to assume that the difference in normal gear will only be 20-50 points higher on ascended gear compared to exotics. This is all assumption, but I’m not seeing a point to getting Ascended unless you specifically want to run Fractals of the Mists.
As far as content goes, yes, there’s a lot of game content, but once you hit 80, it’s pointless. I set out wanting to do 100% map exploration, but at 80, there just doesn’t seem to be any point in doing so. Really, the only thing I care remotely about now is WvW/SPvP. Unfortunately, WvW just became really boring for me, if my guild isn’t on, I don’t care to run around trying to solo or be with my servers zerg. SPvP is decently fun, not everyone is completely stupid when playing (not saying I’m the best, I’m just barely almost to R8), but I find it fun because there’s a small sense of progression.
I do think there needs to be new content, this Lost Shores weekend should be fun, but I know yesterday, me and some guildies realized we’re really bored with the current content right now. It was really more fun, to me, to level up, but I don’t want to level up another toon because it’s just so annoying. Maybe it’s just me, but I’m glad there’s so much potential in the game.
1. Please provide proof of Ehmry hacking. Just lumping servers together and saying “oh every server does it” doesn’t make it true. I’ve been on for the majority of the orb takings in Ehmry’s matches, I can say that because I’ve been there taking it or have been told about it while I’m offline. The closest to any “exploits” I’ve heard of on Ehmry was a few weeks ago, and we finally broke into the freakin garrison, and the defenders were so busy on their siege that they didn’t notice 2 of our commanders go up the stairs, drop down behind the altar, destroy it, and the guards, then take the orb and run. Whats sad is defenders watched them, and didn’t bother.
2. This is a great match up. Maguuma has just gained a couple of guilds that have some friends of mine in it, so that’s why GH is pushing so hard. Well, that and freakin Noice defends everything overnight like an amazing commander, so we’re trying to outlast him. Also, our server just generally doesn’t like GoM and Mag. It seems Mag has the same feelings towards EB, because after an hour or 2, ET had been completely pushed out of the rankings. At 1 point they only held a tower and a camp for an hour. As I said, though, I’m not concerned with them, I really just want to beat Mag into oblivion.
3. As far as the fightclubs, I’m not sure if we’re doing it this week. I know FINE set it up with Ehmry the past 2 weeks for NSP, but honestly, I don’t trust Mag for crap. I don’t think Eredon even has enough ppl to do anything like that anyway.
This isn’t a matter of L2P, that’s a generalized “noob” response, that offers no help whatsoever. I know the frustrations of trying to cap with stealth players. I had a group capping the garrison once, and it had stopped because of a single thief. This thief had some more thief friends come in, and they rezzed the keeper over and over. Quite frustrating, but honestly, it’s a “legit” strategy. I do think that they need to change the parameters of capping, though. Being stealthed shouldn’t allow you to rez, disrupt captures, and finish off players. I remember ANet said they weren’t going to allow stealth to be a mechanic that could be permanently on, yet, when traited, you can easily stay stealthed for 20+ seconds. There’s a debuff from returning to stealth, but that’s only if you attack I believe, ANet should consider changing it a bit. It’s fine if you have multiple ways to stealth, but being able to stay that way is pretty stupid. I wish being stealthed just didn’t delay capturing, it’d be so muh better.
As of 7:04 PM server the current scores are as follows:
Ehmry Bay- 5,182 (435)
Mag- 3,994 (205)
Eredon Terrace- 580 (+55)
————————————————————————————-
Ehmry has REALLY come together these past few weeks, and I’m proud of it. We’ve gained and lost a lot of players (RIP Tristana ((not dead, guild left)) ) but we’ve gained new ones. So far the match up is, tbh, between Ehmry and Mag. I don’t know what happened to Eradon, the server lost it’s alliance I guess, but there’s really no wvw presence coming from them at all. They own a few things here and there, but my group has been able to deal with them at cliffside for awhile. Mag is being Mag- annoying. I like it, I love this back and forth. Sounds like a fun week.
P.S. To the [FINE] guild, oh, we are definitely looking for you guys everywhere to take out. Pushes us to work even harder, just to wipe you guys out lol
I get my Badges just fine. Some days i get 10-20 in a few minutes of killing, other days it takes a whole day to get that much. The low rate for them makes the Invader gear and Gift of Battle that much more special. I like it the way it is. I do wish, however, that freakin loot bags were auto loot. Hate having to spam F after a big fight, or missing a bag because someone died after i’ve walked away so it’s at my feet, but I ran past so yeah.
Charr, nor humans are evil. Charr lived in Ascalon first. Humans, after being brought to tyria from another world, took over said Ascalon. they expanded. Naturally the Charr fought back. Naturally, the humans fought back. Items, lands, and lives were taken that were sacred to both races. It’s all just one big disagreement really.
There’s 1 reason, and 1 reason alone I don’t play charr, and why I’ll probably never finish leveling my 31 Charr Ranger: the armor looks so horrible it’s disgusting. The only head piece I like on Charr is the T3 heavy cultural piece, the one that looks like a horn. Everything else looks pretty bad. Heavy CoF armor isn’t bad, friend has it, but Charr just aren’t aesthetically pleasing to me.
Something else I had thought ANet had mentioned doing during the game development, it would help, though. Right now, I only feel comfortable trading with friends that I trust. If someone has something I want, and they’re willing to sell it, I have to just hope that they don’t scam me. The mail system seems to take away the social aspect more than help it.
- Really wish there was a name change item in the Gem store, just like Guild Wars 1. I’ve thought of thousands of better names for my toons, but I end up not wanting to play a character anymore and either rerolling or just not playing the toon because I don’t like the name anymore.
- While I understand that we’re getting custom arenas for practicing in SPvP, I wish we could have the standard duels in game. It’s going to be sort of a hassle to see someone in game, and you both decide to duel, so you gotta load into the mists, then rent an area, then both get in and fight. Something is better than nothing I guess.
- I get ANet didn’t want to have first person camera view for some reason, but these camera angles sometimes are horrid, especially on an Asura. Aiming up at a Defender in wvw just means im going to be zoomed into the inside of my head, really annoying. In jump puzzles, sometimes the environment itself gets in my camera view and I can’t see.
-During the betas and even before they started, I could have sworn I heard ANet say they were making dyes account bound. What happened to that?
I wish the icon was account bound, even though I’m about to get mine on my main, I like leveling my alt in wvw while leading. The system works, IMO, I think ppl are getting them just to get them. I’ve seen at least 5-10 commanders on my server that really don’t know what they’re doing: building rams to attack WALLS, using arrow carts to attack structures (which doesn’t work), attacking an outer wall with rams, then dropping more rams to attack another outer wall, then not having the supply/siege to take an inner wall. Just some of the stuff I see, but I guess if you can amass 100G then it’s fair game.
You seem to have a personal money sink, which is why you’re not seeing much income. The money I get, is about 1-3g a day from WvW, and that also comes from using the “Circle of Death” which is basically running around capping the supply camps and/or a tower in a circle. Done right, you gain a lot of XP, karma, and money, and at the same time, you’ll be getting those precious badges of honor.
Badges of honor is used for gear, but it also saves you money on siege. If you really need to save money, but you REALLY want siege equipment, go do the jumping puzzles, which would be Mistrought Vault and Obsidian Sanctum, in the normal borderlands and Eternal BL respectively. Each ones gives ~8 badges of honor, and 1-3 random siege equipment blueprints, along with some salvage gear. The commanders in my guild literally do all 4 puzzles each day, use the badges for siege, and we all stay moderately wealthy.
Not dying is a big part, though. Don’t over extend. You’re a ranger, unless the enemy zerg has a lot of CC, there should be no reason why you’re being caught. Rangers are probably the kings of tower defense AoE, up there with Eles, and using Barrage should net you a lot of kills, if not, you damage an enemy enough that when they do die, the loot bags are next to you, pick up, and hope for badges.
Yeah, I keep telling people scepter is garbage. I only use it in SPvP. Wish Guardians could use longbows… sigh
The elites are awesome, what are you talking about? Renewed Focus is great for getting out of stuff, and now we can use it while moving? Oh yes. Tome of Wrath? Can you say extreme DPS burst with a MASSIVE aoe blast knockdown kitten skill? tome of Courage? REad a book in a dungeon while protecting an NPC, they get low, FULL HEAL ON 5 PARTY MEMBERS? IDK what elites you’re talking about. I love mine.
If you transfer servers, you should be locked from participation in WvW until the following Wednesday, or for the rest of the current match.
Well this is sad. First off LOL Marshall stop fighting with these people, you know theres no point. Did we not say that if a server is winning early, exploits and hacks would be called? SMH. I’m from GH, one of the in training Commanders, and I can tell you, the only thing we’ve done that is controversial is Mesmer Portals. We actually had a big debate on the ink shot thief trick last week, and I can assure you, we’re not using that. I can’t speak for the rest of our server, we seem to be getting random commanders everyday doing stuff (we have commanders doing unnecessary things wasting supply and siege smh) that not everyone in our server is happy with.
All that stuff aside, I’m actually disappointed in AR and Borlis. We’ve fought Borlis in the past, and it’s always been fun. Last night was AMAZING. I believe we were in Borlis BL, and we were attacking the Garrison, trying to take the orb, and you guys really didn’t let us in. What sucked was when we finally got into the inner, you guys were so focused on defending the garrison itself, you failed to notice one of our commanders solo’ing the vets by the altar, breaking the altar, then our other commander taking the orb from the garrison to the bay, while we let the zerg wipe. It was funny, but I wonder if you guys even saw it? I saw 1 guy attack our com while he was attackin the orb, but he was killed almost instantly, and nobody turned to help. Either way, if you guys could please defend your areas like that more often, that would be great. Ehmry already knows whats going to happen. We’re going to completely stomp you guys this week (not to be rude, but it’s already happening), and then get placed against some higher brackets and get kitten first lol.
I was really excited to see that EB didn’t have 650+ PPoints yesterday, but when I started leading with Sovietcuba, it’ like, Borlis just decided that taking camps was the only thing worth doing. We took 2 entire maps in about an hour. Oh well, I swear WvW is just about who has more ppl on at the right times right now.
All in all, that Garrison defense for 2 hours was probably the most fun loss of a battle I have ever experienced. Please make more of that this week, and take some keeps or do SOMETHING. Not trying to sound kitteny or anything but this week will be boring if you don’t.
Me and one of my commander friend argue about this all the time. He does some pretty stupid stuff, but he refuses to let any thieves ink shot into areas when he’s leading. I, on the other hand, don’t care if they do so or not, but for controversial reasons I never order someone to do it. We do make use of mesmer portals quite a bit, and I honestly don’t see it as any different. I don’t feel these are exploits. An exploit, to me, is knowing that sometimes the west inner gate of the garrison can be walked right through, and using that instead of taking down the gate. I don’t mind mesmer portals, it’s annoying, but then again, since when have Mesmers NOT been annoying? I figure if a class has a mechanic that can be used, use it. That goes for ink shot, portals, bubble thing with eles (i didn’t even know how they did that, i just saw it), and even the “jumping puzzle of garrison water gate”.
Speaking as a Guardian, it is a bug, I’ve been guilty of using this on accident without even realizing it. When using a mace, the 3rd skill, as everyone knows, blocks the next attack in the area of it, but pressing 1 almost immediately afterwards allows u to attack, but the block will still be up for ~3s. It’s very easy to hit the block, but then press 1 to attack, not realizing you’d drop your block, but it doesn’t all the time. Legit needs to be fixed.
Umm Ehmry is a low pop server compared to others, and it’s more casual than anything lol
Hello, before I start, I just want to say this is not a rage post. This is merely a post to see how other servers are dealing with orb hackers. First off, this isn’t complaining, I have pics on my desktop of the locations of 2 of the 3 orbs. My server owns everything in our borderlands, and we had 2 orbs. We fought off Gates of Madness at Etheron Hills, and it worked, we kept our orb. 5 minutes later, team chat blows up about the orb being gone, and appearing in GoM’s Dreaming Bay. We still have Etheron. On our own borderlands, we still own everything, but since Gate of Madness owns nothing on our map, theres no longer an orb.
Now, I may be wrong, maybe they didn’t hack. Maybe they somehow broke into out keep, without any of our walls being down, no white cross swords, no orange cross swords, and without alerting anyone. Maybe they broke the altar and ran. Either way, IDK how anyone can run so fast that the orb literally flies over the map. At the same time our last orb just disappears.
So how do you guys deal with that? We’re attacking the garrison that has orb soon, and we’ll work up to taking the other one, but is there no way to get back an orb that has been, in all literal sense, deleted from our map?
Depending on how it’s done, it’s either an exploit or just being smart. Usually when a keep that you’re defending is being taken over, you leave a mesmer or 2 and/or a thief (in case the mesmer(s) are found), and wait until the enemy has lowered their guard. Then (especially if you’re trying to retake the bay) just place a portal at top, then jump over the wall into the water and put a portal there. That’s the smart way. If you’re mad about ppl using skills to bypass walls and gates, then get over it. It’s the same as using AoE on gates so ppl can’t heal the gate or to destroy stuff.
The classes really are equal, and all I do is WvW. It all depends on what you’re doing though.
Eles: Ungodly amazing for sieges and point capping. the sheer aoes they can put down devastate even the toughest lines, they they can be very mobile.
Necros: the Lich/well Necro’s I see do very well, the condi builds even better. The ones that bring minions seem to fair decently, but I enjoy seeing the conditions rather than minions.
Mesmers: Time warp, Chaos Storm, Mesmers. Theres nothing I don’t like about mesmers in WvW. Great for everything. Did I forget the portals? Yeah, so helpful sneaking in coordinated attacks.
Rangers: Pretty good for farming. Barrage is decent for sieges but I really like them for scouting. Seem a bit lack luster in damage tho, pretty balanced overall.
Engis: Mortar, Bomb Kit, Grenade Kit, the Turrets… WvW was made for Engis. AoE’s and general annoyance/scouting is what I see them most useful as. Mortar is REALLY helpful.
Thieves: Pretty much assassins from GW 1 in that they are ungodly annoying. Dagger Storm needs a nerf, stealth needs a nerf, I say we delete them lol. They suck at sieging tho, shortbow is useful, but thieves are good for taking out camps and such.
Guardians/Warriors. They hit hard, but hard to kill. I don’t like playing my main (80 Asura Guard) in WvW because they’re so slow to me, but warriors and guardians both do really well for soaking up damage and initiating fights, or just being awesome in the fights. You can never hear to many “Shake It Off”!
Trust me, I’m still finding that perfect class for me to play in WvW. I witch toons about 40 times a day in wvw just because i wanna play a different way or level certain ways. So far I’m loving the mesmer, but Engis, rangers, and warriors are pretty much what I like most, altho I have all the classes, these just do best for me in WvW. Figure out what you want to do, how you want to do it, and what makes u have more fun.
should be something your guild has to research and work for instead of simply having individual players buy gems and pop out 10 commanders in a single night.
I agree with the reserching part. Only guilds that have researched a certain level should be able to attain an icon. On the other hand, if you want to buy gems, you’ll need either tons of gold or tons of cash.
Jamaz I’ma smack you next time I see your icon lol look what you did. This was a joke thread started for FUN.Now everyones taking it out of proportion. You want the low down on whats going on? Last week EB got matched against Maguuma and TC. As we all know, while there wasn’t some conspiracy alliance between butthurt TC and Mag, there was still some weird stuff going on.
There were “spies” sent into the different servers to look at what each servers group was doing. BTW, that’s complete BS. Ppl just had friends in the other servers that would talk on vent, mumble, etc. While I don’t doubt that maybe it might have been done on purpose, I’m 100% sure there were no secret agents, although our guild [GH] did notice that a player joined our guild, and got on vent. After that, for the next 2 hours, every single strat we were using was being countered amazingly fast. I think it was just a coincidence, but looking at the rage from these posts, I wouldn’t put it past some of these ppl.
As for the orb, it was just a coincidence. It was the basic mesmer/thief trick. You get into a fort or keep, and u hide a mesmer and/or a thief somewhere in there. Then, once the enemies off guard, the mesmer portals an entire zerg into the base. Well, a thief did that. There was a wall glitch that was exploited where he could jump over and around a wall ledge and get inside. Because the altar holding the orb wasn’t in a contested keep, when his dumb butt broke the altar, instead of being able to steal the orb (like a THIEF should do) the orb glitched. This much I know for certain. Now, as to the specific orb glitch, idk whether it had reset where it originally was, or what, but I know the thief used a glitch because I saw one of our idiotic drones (Sorry, EB’s “zerg” hasn’t upgraded itself to the level of zergling yet, they’re still kitten drones imo) blabbed on team chat about trying it.
I’m sorry this is a long post, but I’m long winded and I’m kind of frustrated with what’s going on in WvW. We still have idiots talking about spies and TC/Mag and Yak/Mag team ups, when really it was EB’s fault we got targeted last week. We stole the orb as soon as the match reset… kinda paints a target on your head taking a huge lead like that. So enough of that. Another frustrating thing is EB’s drones SUCK. I’m not saying they never do stuff right, and I’m not saying it’s all the none GH, LGN, AoE, or AO guildies. I’m saying it’s the 15 drones I saw attacking Bluebriar tonight. 3 Mags show up, and the drones move from the half built flame ram on a 50% gate to go chase these 3 Mags down. Meanwhile they get flanked and lose the momentum, letting Mag not only secure Bluebriar, but take Redlake also. I swear, me and my guildies sometimes hate reading map chap. We try to attack a key position we’ve been working on weakening for a bit, and then map chat explodes with “omg help us drones please we’re so weak and unworthy, someone save this 1 tower!”. Exaggerated but still.
Also, EB has 0 night presence, low population server, and only 3-4 major wvw guilds that seem to be sensible. Meanwhile Mag has GOON (my god I LOVE fights with them) and a seriously big coordinated zergling offense. Yes, Mag gets zerglings, why? Becuase when they want to attack stuff, the zerglings with all these different guild tags, come together, and form some mighty zergling rush that overrun our dornes with ease. Add to the fact that Mag has great overnights.. yeah. And Yaks are just annoying. TBH, the fights with them are pretty much we’ll roll over Yaks and then they back off for a bit. IDK, it’s 4 AM.
TL;DR: there are no spies, yes theres glitching exploits, but I’ve only seen one legit, there are no alliances that I know of, EB’s zerg is kitten low pop server with no overnight, and yet, we still hold on because we’re the fuggin greatest.
Ok, I’m sorry, THIS IS GONNA BE ANOTHER GREAT WEEK! Mag puts up good fights, and I’ve never played against Yak’s. GLHF Everyone!
Yeah it’s been a pretty weird week. My guildies and I were being attacked at a supply depot. We’re like oh, it’s just 5-6… we get closer and that 6 turned into about 25 Mags lol still one but still so enjoyable knowing I can’t trust everything I see on the internet.
Playin against Mag was fun. EB’s zerg is kinda kitten but they do decent stuff sometimes. Mag’s zerg, however, is like a super huge cluster of disorganization, but it worked lol Not bitter, I had so much fun, even if we got in last place. I’ll admit, EB was kinda kitten about the whole TC/Mag “team up”, seemed kinda crappy that 2 servers ranked 7 places higher would team up on us but it was a dam fun week. If we get paired with Mag again, I will love it to death. Just hope we don’t get Fergussons or Borlis… those guys are boring zzz
Ok, I’m from Ehmry, and honestly, I think most of us are happy as to whats going on. Last week we got placed again Fergussons and Borlis Pass. That was the most boring week ever. We took everything because Borlis didn’t really fight back at all, and FC… oh my… they didn’t play WvW until 3 hours before the match switch. I’m actually glad to be placed against 2 other servers that are well known for having a large WvW/PvP oriented population, while Ehmry is more casual PvE ppl. Not saying we’re bad, but it’s interesting. I don’t like it when one server completely dominates another. Yesterday was fun, all 3 of us were pretty much even.
Now that I’ve gone to sleep, I’m seeing TC is taking a very commanding lead. So this is gonna be a fun day. I know me and my guild have been curious about something. Ppl are whining about the 2 servers “ganging up” on us, but I really don’t think theres as much communication as ppl are panicing about. I do, however, think TC either has a REALLY great organized defense, or theres a spy! O_O It’s a joke, we know theres not, but it’s funny how our guild (GH) broadcasted we were attacking one area, while we really attacked another, and one of our scouts saw the fake area being heavily fortified with tons of TC’s, yet the area we were really attacking (We were attacking the bay from 2 fronts) had literally no defenses.
It’s fine though, gives us something to do. I must say, TC, you guys have a LOT of ppl that play alot, and as for the secret overnight playing… that was 1 night, it happens almost every week at the reset because ppl ain’t got kitten to do. Meanwhile, I notice TC has been hard at work every night lol
GL everyone! This is really going to be a fun week!
I was in the same run today for the first time. As a Guardian with a lot of condition removal, I found those flowers to be harder than the bosses smh.
Want to get in a group? Want to never be kicked, unless you really are just bad? Click “Y”. Then Change your icon to blue. Now, this step is really complicated. Press Escape, then go to character creation. Press Create. Choose whatever race. PRESS “GUARDIAN”. Proceed to finish the character. Hit 80. Map travel to LA, or anywhere theres a dungeon and type this “80 Guard LFG XXX Exp”, XXX being the dungeon initials. Prepare to be asked almost immediately to join a group.
Seriously though, don’t spam the chat, just say “Lvl X Class LFG XX Exp/Story”. Type that once, MAYBE twice, after that, make your own group.
