It’s the first one on every “Year of the Ascension Part #” For example, in Year of the Ascension Part 3, there is an Achievemnt called “League Champion” which requires the player to cross 3 divisions in a SINGLE season. So in this case, if the player wanted to get this Achievemnt in season 1, they would have to cross Ruby, Diamond and Prestige Legendary once. So by the end of the season, if the player only crossed Ruby and Diamond but did not Prstige Legendary, that means they have only completed 2/3 of the achievement. Since the Achievemnt says you must cross 3 divisions in a SINGLE season, yes you have to cross THREE divisions in ONE season, and the player didn’t cross 3 divisions in a SINGLE season, the Achievemnt will reset.

Winds of chaos apply 1 stack of bleeding (7 sec), 1 stack of burning (1 sec) and 1 stack of vulnerability (5 sec)… ONE STACK, for a VERY SHORT DURATION and that ORB is MOVING very SLOW!!!

Just because you take a weapon and give it 1 stack of a condition on some skill, I wouldnt call it a pure “condition weapon”… But lets play with that word then… Why is the duration so low, and why so few stacks, why so long time until you can apply it to enemy after you press skill…

Scepter on the other hand I would agree call a condi weapon, it just work better and has some nice confusion apply, with more stacks and better duration!
But the scepter skill 1 still hit for very low amount of dmg and still only apply torment for a very very short duration!… It should be better!
And scepter skill 2 still needs some work…
With that argument, that all weapons that apply some kind of condition should have no sustained, then we sure need to nerf some weapons in this game…
Mesmers dont mostly rely on weapon skills for their damage like other classes, a lot of it comes from shattering clones
Staff applys conditions while also having decent clone production to shatter a bunch, thats why its considered a decent condi weapon, on top of all that its got decent defensive/control utility to help you kite so that your condis have time to kill, the weapon isnt ment to be your max power dps weapon
Just because you might like the aesthetic of using a staff as a dps weapon doesnt mean its going to work well, thats just not how the weapon was designed to be used

It doesnt matter if bunkers got removed all together, mesmer dps would still have lots of problem. Staff would still do horrible dmg, scepter would still do horrible dmg and one hand sword would still be very clunky to use while beeing non rewarding for going into mele…
Also there is a difference between sustained and burst… In shatter mesm you will have some burst windows, if u dont manage to drop ur opponent then and there, ur screwed! Also u are in full glass to be able to burst like other classes can, while they atleast are still able to take some hits… Also take that spec to a group fight, and we see were you land… lol… Beeing able to 1vs1 is a whole different thing…
People talk about mesmer like they run around with perma evade, blurr and amazing survivability… Go look at those skills granting that, then also look at them cds… And also inc nerfs hit some of that quite hard…

How about anet finally patches it so mesmers cant bypass their aftercast on greatsword auto by using wep stow
Why even give it an after cast if your going to allow it to be bypassed, they fixed it on ele and necro way back, but not mesmer

Its just really annoying that to play mesmer effectively you have to essentially exploit which no other class has to do on their auto attacks
This is one of the reasons i dont advocate telling new players how they should keybind, you often have new players asking which skills they should bind to which key and then some experienced player tells them thier keybinds and the new player will copy it exactly and then end up playing worse because they try too hard to follow someone elses keybind setup and just end up pressing all the wrong buttons
There is no “correct” keybind layout, only what works best for you
Been long since i was decapped or did not decap a point against anyone while 1v1 on my condi-permablock-shatter Mesmer build that most people bashed about on these forums. Yet there were quite a few thankful peeps who were easily carried to diamond/legendary using this and sent their regards through in game ~
Bunker mesmer was very strong in competitive-organized plays in certain team-comps. I have always decapped every bunker mesmer within 10 seconds, and most likely – killed them after. I disliked this meta, never played bunker one and im happy for the nerfs mesmers are getting.
In fact, all anet are going to do is just buffing my build in all ways regarding scepter changes and amulet changes overall.
I am very thankful and happy for this. ~ Mesmer is strong, too many short-minded people playing it.
Mesmer is definitely strong, always has been. The problem is, so is thief.
For years mesmer wasnt used in meta comps simply because of the existence of the thief, they both share a similar role, however the thief had always been a hard counter to mesmer. People would rather take thief as their +1 decap roamer because the other team is probably running one too so if you run mesmer they have to be babysat to prevent the thief from insta downing them.
The specialization patch finally made thieves and mesmers pretty even so mesmer actually started seeing more play, but the HOT patch changed that state of balance.
This upcoming season mesmers are getting a lot of nerfs while thief is receiving a lot of buffs, mesmers are justifiably worried they will get kicked to the curb again like they were the first 2 and a half years

Mesmer is just the class new and/or bad players always complain about because of how the class is played not because its “op”
It relys on tricking your opponent and locking them down, using a bunch of clones while simultaneously going invisible and popping invulnerabilies inbetween with all the shatters and animations, it can be really disorienting to someone that doesnt know what to look out for or how the class works

Your not really that far behind, you can almost complete 3/4 of the metas in 1 season, the crossing 10 league divisions is going to take you longer than the daily achievements anyway because you need to wait for the next seasons to cross more divisions

Before this anet had to tiptoe around balancing elementalist because if they gave them too much offense then cele bunker is broken, give them too much defence then cele bunker is broken, give them too much condi then cele bunker is broken. Now anet can actually make more substantial balance changes without risk of making an immortal bruiser every season

For Spvp, the main thing Anet should prioritize is a very large player base.
Because if spvp has very large player base matchmaking works better, there is more interest about tournaments and pvp, more viral advertising, etc. basically the entire game has advantages to have more players in spvp.
F2P doesn’t work for spvp. Just that, They can download the client and try some games but they realize very soon to not have chance to compete if they don’t buy HoT. It’s a bad advertise, where is the f2p in that?
Works for PVE because you can do 80, visit every core zone, make every world boss and other stuff

So you’re wrong, I’m not asking for every elite spec unlocked, I’m asking for a compromise, to put immediately new players at the same level of veteran/old players at least with 1 elite spec unlocked, because this is the initial philosophy of pvp, skill and experience count, not equip or build.

Why does everyone assume that the elite specs need or are even relevant to the lore, revenant is one thing but all the others dont need some special story line, they can just be considered variations in fighting styles for the existing classes and dont need to have any outside reference and simply exist as the way your player character fights
Its almost cringe inducing when i see people trying to force some storyline for each elite spec and whine at anet to add them when its not at all necessary
I always choose cele for ascended back pieces because the amount of total stats gained is way more and the loss of dps stats compared to zerker is very minimal
Plus ascended back pieces arnt as easy to come by as other pieces and a celestial one will be effective on any build

Blurred frenzy and zealots defense are fine as is
100 blades however deff needs to be reworked to allow movement, its extremely low damage for how difficult it is to actually land in pvp against a competent player because the hard hits are the last 2 and unlike blurred frenzy and zealots, it has no defensive tradeoff for rooting you in place, quite the opposite actually, it leaves you wide open from all angles to get bursted, its just an outdated skill for an outdated gamestate, it used to be balanced, not anymore
So far the trend seems to be moving even farther away from your ideal setup, so maybe your just playing the wrong game
Or maybe ANet doesn’t really understand what their players want, and need to take a shift in course. We’ll have to see. Just all this “this is how it is now, so it can never change!” nonsense isn’t productive.

What ANet wants isn’t necessarily right either. ANet wanted Elite specs to require 400HP. ANet went through two previous trait systems before arriving at the current ones. The fact that there will be more elite specs later was like the MOST obvious thing about them when they were even first announced
You only have to do it twice, when you complete the track you get one automatically and then have the choice of a second one or a piece of glorious armor
Your option is to choose the mist core OR the armor box at the end of the track, if your trying to use old boxes it probably wont work
Im no fan of the current meta, but in my experience, most of the time the people complaining about “cookie cutter meta builds” and people being “unoriginal” are usually just people who dont know how to adapt and have been running their same theorycrafted build they always have and use the above criticism to avoid having to learn a new build and actually play what works rather then what looks or feels the coolest
Of course this isnt always true, but more often than not the people shouting “meta cheese” are just bad players who cant be bothered to learn a build that isnt what they first settled on

Btw Ruby matches are like 10 times easier than Diamond matches.
The skill level difference from Diamond onward for players are Ground to Sky.
If you’re having EASY wins in Ruby, you’d find out significant differences once you climbed up to Diamond. People who can get through Ruby are no longer scrubs, but truly skilled players. (Mostly, except the Amber shopping individual)
Quite the opposite actually, ruby is much harder to get out of then diamond, ruby is filled with bad players that grinded to ruby so the odds of getting matched up with bad teams is much higher meaning good players have to carry the team which is hard to do if they suck, but once you get to diamond there are much more competent players meaning you dont have to carry as hard and can actually focus on supporting the team rather than covering for their terrible plays
Case and point, my roommate was stuck in ruby for over 2 weeks hovering in the last 2 tiers, when he finally broke out of ruby, he was legendary division within 2 days because the players in diamond carried their own weight

d) if you blocked too many, your queue time would take forever.And lets be honest, how else to punish those that havent yet realized – after playing pvp at least to rank20 – that rushing far and dieing there five times in a row is NOT the way to win a game?
Atm, that guy actually gets carried by the system, thanks to wl mmr. He just looses until his mmr gets so low, the system practically throws a win at him and he will look at his statistic and think “Im good, I win 50% of my matches in solo queue”.
While someone with REAL knowledge about how to play his profession, how to predict enemy movements to prevent point capture, when to decap, when to cap, when to go for boss/buffs etc. sits there and ALSO has a 50% win rate, because as soon as he gets ahead of that 50% rate, he gets saddled with 4 far rushing rallybots until his rate is again at 50%.So yeah…. I dont want to get matched with those players. I also dont want to get matched with that kitten from hotm mapchat spouting jew jokes and work with him to win a game. As I said, they are on my blocked list, because I dont want anything to do with them. They disgust me. And then having to work with them to win a match…. on top of all the other stuff that just goes wrong in gw2 atm, its enough to make me wanna quit this game and just say “kitten it”.

It’s possible that they were in a party with one of the diamonds, then left the party via the chat command in order to not be told that he was abusing the mmr.

Lol doesnt even have a lvl 80 and thinks he has the game figured out, and claims gw1 was more co-op and group based, lol. you arnt even a high enough level to do most of the group based stuff or even experience the endgame zones, yet you apparently “GET IT” without even seeing a majority of the game yet

you do know you can waypoint to places you have already been and there is more than just 1 crafting station, you gave up on crafting a weapon for a day because the crafting station near you happened to be unavailable? Do you even have a lvl 80? Your not supposed to just mindlessly grind mobs
It just sounds like you dont know what your doing and are just running in circles doing the same events
