The expansion for a large part wasnt just supposed to be a big lump of content until the next one, this expansion was mainly a foundation to continue making future content easier and faster. It set up systems like masterys, elite specs, guild stuff, raids, ect. They needed to spend the time and resources making the expansion so that they had the framework to add quality living story content at a much quicker and substantial rate than they could with the base game as it was
Early on when they announced elite specs they said they would be adding more and that they WONT only be released in expansions
Pluss im pretty sure during the twitchcon live streams on of the devs said their goal was to have at least 3 elite specs for each class in total BEFORE the next expansion
NONE of the reviews given in the first few days should be taken seriously because NONE of them actually gave the game enough time to review. This isnt a single.player game where you can burn yhrough it in a day or 2 and give an accurate review. Ide say it should be about a month befor any serious reviews can be made
All those votes in the first few days were people that made up their minds on what they would rate it befor the expansion even launched. It was easy to predict this would happen just based off of all the unsubstantiated hate threads on the forums befor launch about stuff they were making assumptions on that weren’t even confirmed
So….what was the point of adding new icons for elite specs if in the one mode where it would be the most usefull to see them, they arnt visable
During the beta you could see them in pvp, but not since launch
You can see the new icons in pve but in pve it doesnt matter too much and when it does you could just ask them since its all cooperative

I like how all the people denying reaper OPness are also the ones playing it (and probably maining it)
“ive been playing reaper a lot but i dont think its overpowered, i just definitely outplayed everyone else this past weekend”
Its never the class, they just became really good at pvp overnight
Dont play hotjoin
Go stand around taimi when it says search for elder dragon research.
Way to exploitable, people would just pick an easy hero challenge and do it over and over. Only way to prevent that would to add some kind of daily limit but then the reward would have to be good enough to warrant even wasting time to go do it consistantly enough that it would even solve the base issue

Lol i love these fake quitting threads. Always the same thing, people say they will quit if some change they want isnt implemented when 9/10 times they dont or just come back after a week when they realize stubbornly stonewalling got them nowhere but behind everyone else
Rofl wow. “People are disagreeing with my opinion. must be a conspiracy”
It’s not just useless, but entirely beside the point, to tell people who like to play solo or have a private guild with their spouse or a friend but still want to experience the full game that they’re playing it “wrong” or that they “should” be playing it some other way. Child, please (as they say). A successful gaming enterprise adapts to the demand of their audience.
Obviously there’s demand for guild halls for small guilds. It’s in this thread and it’s in the threads of the forums for several major guilds I’m in. The question is simply why ANet feels that they’ll make more money if they gate content for guilds through pushing people to play in groups larger than pairs.
In MY case, every guild I’m in has voted to go for the same guild hall, and I like the OTHER one, so it’s just a matter of wanting to have a little place for my spouse and me to fool around in. Given the amount of people I’ve seen in my larger guilds (I belong to several guilds with members numbering in the hundreds) who are wanting to have personal guild halls, there’s demand, and I tend to think a large portion of them are not people who purely play solo.
I can think of this workaround or that—that’s not the point. The point is, I shouldn’t have to. Is there really some kind of financial harm for ANet to allow people who want this, to have it?
At the moment at least, I am unable to see why it’s necessary to gate the guild hall acquisition behind such a circular, cumbersome and frustrating path to favor.
Your problem is your asking for the wrong thing, what you truely want is player housing instances. Your asking anet to change content designed for LARGE groups of players to cater to solo/duo players because it has a feature somewhat similar for what you really are looking for
I have to laugh when I see people posting that only unhappy whining people go to forums. People who post that don’t see the basic irony that they’re on the forum themselves and complaining about complainers. gg
I didnt say ONLY but it is a large majority. Im posting here cuz im at work, otherwise i would be in game PLAYING. Im not going to spend time making posts just to say “good job anet” and i doubt a lot of the other people enjoying the expansion will either. But the people who dont like it dont want to play so they have nothing better to do than complain on forums. Same thing happens EVERY time something new comes out regardless of what the true majority feels
Omg so rediculous. Guilds are for GROUPS of players. Having 1 or 2 other people that you play with is what friends lists are for, not guilds.
Guild halls are NOT a personal housing system so stop asking anet to cater to you as if it is. If you dont have enough players to take a guild hall, then you arnt a guild.
Whether or not this is the place new people go to get info is irrelevant. Forums are always the place people go to complain because its really only the unhappy people who feel the need to vent their feelings publicly. This creates the illusion that a “majority” of people feel a certain way because all you see are identical posts.
When someone is satisfied with what they recieved they will most of the time keep it to themselves and go on doing what they are doing. Its the bitter person who will go out of their way to complain about things and try to get others to back them up on the supposed “injustice” that has been done to them. Using public forums to gauge what a majority of players feel is completely unreliable because your only going to get one side of the argument. The vocal minority
Your logic is completely flawed. The vast majority of players who DO like the expansion will be in game playing it. So that leaves the people who DONT like the expansion offline on forums and reddit kittening each others complaint threads. The people enjoying the expansion arnt going to waste their time writing about it making posts saying how.much they like it, its the people who have an anti anet agenda who are spamming posts
No, not at all actually. Herald is an amazing PVP class though. Without the spec Revenent basically doesn’t work.
Rofl. Thats a learn to play issue on your part. Rev has many really powerful builds without Herald. Its only bad players that dont know how to properly evade and manage energy on high cost skills and just rely on invulnerability and blocks to facetank without thinking that believe herald is the only thing that works.
People are way to attatched to herald cuz it covers up a bad player with all the “oh kitten” buttons. Its not the only viable build, its just the easiest and most faceroll
No chance for Future Elite Specs during HoT

Except im pretty sure during the twitchcon stream the devs said their goal was to have 3 elite specs for each class by the time the next expansion comes out. Which would mean they intend to add more maps through living story, and for all we know they might be well on their way to completing these other maps right now in the background of hot
I wouldnt be surprised if they unlocked 1 at a time like regular utilities and the ones you havnt unlocked yet will just be blank
I wonder if this means you can change targets mid unrelenting assault
Once activated, UA picks its own targets, you’re not able to actively control it at all.
Yes but unrelenting assault will always finish its last attack on the target you initially activated it on and if that target stealths it will automatically cancel unrelenting assault even if there are other targets nearby. Im wondering if this change will let you change the primary target mid attack to avoid situations like that
I wonder if this means you can change targets mid unrelenting assault
For the record, I was never against alternatives. I’m against having alternatives in every piece of content possible. And also, I never understand why everyone is only talking about raids in discussions like this, as if Raids is the only content that has unique rewards. As if the rest of the game doesn’t have any kind of unique reward but somehow it is bad only for Raids to have them.
No, it’s not bad only for raids to have such rewards. How bad it is depends on how difficult the content behind the rewards are locked is, and what rewards are locked this way.
Thus, so far, only 4 cases really stand out. One is legendary armor, one is tournament armor, one is liadri mini, and one is a llama mini.Of those, i consider a mini to be a more reasonable reward (though i understand that there might be people that will disagree) for this type of content. That leaves a tournament armor (against which i did protest), and a whole category of items locked beyond raids.
If it was just a case of a mini, or some singular unique skins, i might perhaps stomach it. In this case i just can’t stay silent.
So, Raids get picked out, because in their case the problem is the biggest and most visible.
I agree with Astral here. I think skins are an appropriate thing to lock behind specific content because it signifies the content you completed. A tier of armor(legendary)being locked behind a specific type of content isn’t the best in my opinion. I think you should be able to get Legendary armor in a number of ways and maybe lock some armor skins behind raids. Visually that signifies you’ve completed the raids. Fractal Weapon skins were handled like this. You want the fractal weapon skins? Do Fractals. You want dungeon armor skins? Do dungeons. Locking the whole Legendary Armor(Tier) exclusively behind a raid gate is a little counter-intuitive to what GW2 stood for when a bunch of us started playing. Let players get legendary armor from doing raids. Let players craft it. Let them do a quest for it. Look at the metrics after that and see where most people get their armor from.
It’s my opinion that ArenaNet is using Legendary armor in raids to drive players to actually do the raiding content. That shouldn’t be the reason. The reason should be because those players actually want a skillful challenge. I think they know that the number of people that want an actual challenge in this game isn’t that high so they are using the armor to get people to play the content. It’s a mistake.
Except legendary really isnt a different tier. It is the exact same as ascended. All the stats that can be choosen on a legendary can also be choosen for an ascended item and they are completely identical in stats. Changing the stats on legendarys is both unnecessary and impractical because it doesnt change runes/sigils. Locking unneeded luxory conveniences behind specific content is definitely accaptable because not having it in no way prevents you from experiencing anything in the game
You just said fractal skins dont require an alternative method of acquisition because its just a skin.
A skin that can change stats when out of combat
That’s not “just a skin”.
It has the same stats as ascended. Thete is nothing a legendary does that you cant accomplish by just making ascended pieces with different stats you want. A legedary is an ascended with a very impractical convenience attatched. It doesnt need an alternative method of acquisition because that alternative to have the same functionality technically alrdy exists regardless of how inconvenient it is
(edited by Kayberz.5346)
You just said fractal skins dont require an alternative method of acquisition because its just a skin. But thats essentialy exactly what legendarys are. They dont need another alternative because they are just an ascended with a fancy skin. The stat changing is pointless and hardly ever used. Just make ascended with every stat combo and there you go.
The first wave of legendary s is a really bad example because the whole reason this new wave of legendarys is having its acquisition method changed is because the first set didnt align with anets goal for what legendarys should be and were essentially just buyable with gold instead of through dedicated gameplay like they were intended to be
Ohoni is just a perfect example of the damage caused by the “everyone gets a trophy” generation, people wanting the reward but not wanting to actually achieve what is needed to get it
He thinks that not getting a reward he wants, despite his complete lack of effort to obtain it, as unacceptsble, pure self entitlement.
If you want a gold medal in the Olympics, for a specific sport you get good at the sport and you go earn the medal. You dont get a gold medal in pole vaulting for playing a gameboy in your living room.
This whole idea of “getting any reward for only doing the things I like” is completely rediculous and entirely self serving
Im pretty sure the whole point of the gw beyond was to set the stage for future stories to be continued in gw2. So its likely all of those story points are ment to be flushed out in guild wars 2 and not in gw1 time period.
Will there be no pause in HoT personal story?

I think I remember it being confirmed that the fight with Mordremoth WILL NOT come with HoT’s release. We are getting a portion of the story. I imagine we won’t be getting to fight Mordremoth until next Summer, or Spring at the earliest.
I really wish people would stops saying it has been confirmed, we have had no confirmation whatsoever that mordremoth will not be fought in HoT, only baseless speculation made by pessimistic players and trolls trying to rile people up . True, we have had no confirmation we will be killing him in HoT either, but I for one choose to remain optimistic.
Problem is people are still under the assumption that we even WILL kill mordremoth. Everyone has this cliche idea that anet is going to make an expansion for each dragon 1 by 1. Im willing to bet towards the end of hot and further down the road the story is going to start developing into a much broader overarching plot and not just “kill all the dragons” im guessing killing them is NOT what we actually want to be doing based on subtle hints throughout the game
Legendaries are not some shiny toy that everybody gets as a participation award, Legendaries are a very difficult and hardcore thing to obtain, and a big part of that is dedicating yourself to completing certain content
Tell that to my friend who came back to GW2 after 2 years and got Spark off a world boss. He has less than 1000 achievement points and barely plays the game… Getting a legendary is expensive or luck based, there is nothing hardcore about it at all.
Hence why anet is CHANGING the acquisition of the new legendarys to better reflect their philosophy for legendarys. Instead of creating scarcity in the kegendys through RNG they are making it entirely effort based
Humans and exalted look nothing alike and are the same being. And mursaat have feather like tendrels coming from their back. I highly doubt they are the same or even related (aside from them both seeming to prefer fleeing the dragons than fighting) its just an idea
I have a tinfoil hat theory, one of the tengu says they remember things other races have forgotten. What if tengu were around during the last dragon rise(and heres where the real tinfoil hat stuff comes in) what if the tengu and the mursaat are related. Possibly even mursaat are to tengu what exalted are to humans
Well, let’s see if HOT will receive a higher review rating than vanilla GW2, to see if gating stuff is truly the most amazing thing in gaming industry ever.
Well considering your using the word gate synonymously with progression. Yes progression is the big “amazing” thing in the industry. Particularly with the genre of rpg games which guild wars 2 happens to be
Can you give an example of a new, fun pve content with great replayability in HOT that is completely grind-free for existing characters?
Guild Hall claiming is done once so I doubt you’d call that a grind, the map wide events are similar to any other map in the game and it’s hardly a new type of grind, the story instances obviously, adventures, any new jumping puzzles they might add, the Raid instance (not different than any of the other dungeons). What exactly is coming with HoT that is more grind than old similar content?
Other than no new fractals and no new dungeons (they add 3 raid wings though) the rest of HoT is similar to what we already have.
Unless you say the rest of the game is also a grind of course then I pass. Unless you only call dungeons/fractals non-grind fun pve content then I don’t see on what basis you claim that HoT will be all about grind.
What you said are not completely grind-free, because they are all gated. Even traveling freely in the new maps require you to unlock gliding. Guild Hall decorations will be a grind. Raids in other MMORPGs are targeted towards people who can consistently get time for 8-hour raid nights every week, and Anet hasn’t said how raids in HOT will be different, so that people who spend a moderate amount of time on gaming will be able to enjoy it.
Well, having them gated isn’t a big deal if you just think about the effort required to unlock them, which, I agree, isn’t forbiddingly high. However, what is worrisome is why they have to make such content gated. The only reason that I can see is that there isn’t going to be enough content, so they have to make them gated.
Think about the first xpac to GW1. We were given Canthan, and there was really no need to make anything gated.
Don’t you agree that a new xpac that more is like GW: Factions would have been more enjoyable than HOT?
Your basically eqating ANYTHING that isnt straight up immediately handed to you as grind. Your basically calling any form of progression grind. You cited guild hall decorations for kittens sake. Since when is making the guild hall “pretty” something players must do?
The reason why people are unhappy is NOT because there is a lot of grind in a game, but because there is a lot of grind in the xpac of a game originally advertised as one that “does not require time to prepare for fun” and “respects your time”.
That is, people are unhappy that Anet failed their legendary “quest” of designing a MMORPG without grinding.
The fact that there are grindy stuff in some other games is totally irrelevant. Anet tried to avoid grindy stuff and then gave up in the xpac, and that’s it. Of course there are people who are happy about Anet’s failure because they like grindy stuff, while others will be unhappy.
I don’t think anyone can argue about this.
Your whole argument is bunk because anet promised a game with no MANDATORY grind which is still the case. You all keep acting as if having a legendary is an integral part of the game and is required. Legedarys are an item, a cosmetic skin, it doesnt unlock some previously unaccesable content in the game., its a completeky uneeded luxory item. Anet added more long term goals for the type of player that enjoys grinding, not getting a legendary in no way inhibits your gameplay
except the fractal back piece is an ascended item, not a legendary, and we don’t even completely know the requirements for the new legendary one coming which may or may not require 50-100 lvl fractals. legendarys were designed to be something for dedicated players that master ALL areas of the game. this IS NOT a casual friendly set of items, its designed for HARDCORE players. just because you want one doesn’t make you entitled to one easily. I don’t have a legendary specifically because i don’t feel like grinding out the things i would need to make one, but i am not going to demand anet give me one just because i am unwilling to change my play style. no, i deal with it and play the game without the unnecessary shiny.
Unlike you, I dont mind to grind but heavily dislike to be shoehorned into something by a game. And btw, I am pretty sure that all the GW2 players with a legendary have made them by doing ALL content instead of buying them on the TP. I am TOTALLY sure of that. So this argument is already killed from the start by Anet themselves.
my argument is not “killed” that is EXACTLY what anet themselves had said legendarys are supposed to be, a trophy for people who have mastered ALL the games modes to a degree, they didn’t implement the first wave of legendarys to achieve this intended result hence why legnedarys are so common and the whole reason they are CHANGING the way the next wave of legendarys is obtained, and making them ACCOUNT BOUND, anet themselves is changeing the system to fit this legendary item philosophy better.
And just because you want the reward to be exclusive, does not mean you’re entitled to it. From an objective perspective, the right to have something one wants would trump the right to deny that object from people who want it.
Ultimately, ANet decides who gets what, I am just pushing for them to make a better choice.
you claim that’s an objective perspective when its the exact OPPOSITE that’s a subjective perceptive, your only considering it from one point of view, nothing would trump anything in an objective point of view, you go on to say that your choice is “better”, again completely subjective, its better for you maybe, but not necessarily better for the game as a whole.
Nope, we don’t deserve those specific items. However if we paid arenanet hundreds of dollars over the years, we should deserve that the promises made to us, and the claims made by the developers actually be respected.
_Buy the game once, and play forever.
The in game store will never offer a means to obtain items for cash that will make your character more powerful than other characters.
By the time you are level 80 you will have everything you need to be competitive with other players._
Remember those promises? I’m pretty sure most of us do.
umm……and since when has anet broke ANY of those promises, every single one of those things you just listed is still applicable today
Buy the game and play a quality release forever…..or until we release an expansion, then we’ll stop supporting older content and nerf reward rates, but don;t worry, give us 50 more dollars and you can still get decent rewards for time invested. Heck, pay us a hundred dollars and we’ll give you fifty dollars worth of gameplay.
The in game store will never offer a means to obtain items for cash that will make your character more powerful than other characters. Oh, except you can now buy gold in the game, and all the best items can be made with items you can buy with gold!
By the time you are level 80 you will have everything you need to be competitive with other players…..Unless you are a casual player, then you’ll never be able to compete with hardcore players. Unless….you buy gems to purchase the gold, to purchase the items to make you competitive…..
you can still play the game, so therefore, buy the game once and play forever is still the case, nowhere did anet guarantee gold payout would never change in specific parts of the game. nor did they promise there would never be new optional content added later with a pricetag
the cash shop not letting you be more powerfull than other players still applys, everything in the gem store can be earned in game, the cash shop doesnt offer anything exclusive to paying people only, someone who pays $50 for gold to craft ascended is no stronger than someone who farmed the mats and made it
“competeing” with players is completely even accross the board, spvp is COMPLETELY normalized, and pve is cooperative not competitive, and even so, exotics are still “competitive” with ascended so it still is the case that you are able to “compete” with everyone by the time you are lvl 80.

What I reject is the idea that content that is not for everyone can offer rewards exclusive to that content, because I might want those rewards, whether I enjoy the content. You can tell me that content is not for me if I don’t enjoy it, and you can tell me that a reward is not for me if I do not want that reward, but you cannot tell me that a reward is not for me just because I do not like the content it is attached to. Whether the reward is for me or not has nothing at all to do with the content it has been attached to.
again, just because you want the reward from something, doesnt make you entitled to it. i want the glorious hero armor and 50k cash prize for winning WTS, should anet give it to me for winning a match in hotjoin just because i don’t want to have to earn it through competing with premade teams in a tournament setting?
Legendarys were designed to be something for dedicated players that master ALL areas of the game. this IS NOT a casual friendly set of items, its designed for HARDCORE players. just because you want one doesn’t make you entitled to one easily.
That is a bad design choice, and they should change it. That’s the point most people are making. They should not make skins that are only for “hardcore” players or that require you to play significant amounts of portions of the game that you may not enjoy.
I don’t have a legendary specifically because i don’t feel like grinding out the things i would need to make one, but i am not going to demand anet give me one just because i am unwilling to change my play style. no, i deal with it and play the game without the unnecessary shiny.
And that’s fine, that’s your right, but it’s also other people’s right to ask for better ways of earning the items instead. Some people are quitters, they see something that is too hard for them and say “well, I don’t want to do that, I give up.” Other people look at something they don’t want to do and say “well, I still want that thing, let’s look for other ways to get it.” Either is valid if it makes you happy.
your whole mentality is extremely self centered. those “hardcore” players are people with wants and desires in this game too, and the whole “hardcore” player mentality revolves around having something difficult and DESIRABLE to strive for that takes a whole lot of work, that’s exactly what legendarys are. your saying anet should NEVER design content for that type of gamer just because you arnt that type of gamer. there are plenty of other things to do in the game than chase a specific shiny, its no ones fault but your own if you cant enjoy the game if you dont have it, not having it in no way effects your gameplay.
and also your claim that that is the point “most” people are making is complete BS, it is not “most” its a very small vocal minority of a few people who keep spamming identical threads, including yourself
(edited by Kayberz.5346)
Yes, I am pretty sure that this is something that Anet is looking for, players quitting because content is not suitable for them. Look, I know you raiders had to take the backseat for long and now have the right to be excited.
I do fractals a lot and like them. Would I have found it fair if there was stuff that was only available in highlevel fractals? No. Because, everyone, and I mean really everyone who is not ill or severely disabled, can run lvl 1-9 fractals and get the fractal back. Everyone.
Why is it so hard for you to understand that there should be a method like this here too? It is not like Anet has never done this, why are they now all of a sudden do a 180° on that proven policy? Pushing of raids, shoehorning because they knew the resentments against raids in general are probably high bcause the customers are mainly casual, news coming from the mouth of hardcore gamers thermselfes?

Except all those things were ADDED to the game. They didnt replace anything. If you dont like the new content DONT PLAY IT. All the stuff in the core game is still there, play the stuff you bought the game for no one is holding a gun to your head to do thenew stuff. All of your posts on multiple threads just show that all youcare about is rewards and not actualy playing the game as if you are entitled to all rewards in the game for only doing what you want
That is like telling someone that he bought a game and does not have to use the dlc. Which is ironically completely spot on with a single player game, but highly stupid in a multiplayer online game. Of course he does not have to use it, but this is not a single player game where you can get away with stuff like this if you want to do anthing in the future and have a progression of your character without being dragged into content you don´t like. Not to speak of the really horrible marketing effect this has. GW2 is no longer the safe spot for the casual gamer if he is not willing to be a second class player which is, as you can already see with many replies in the forum, a selling point of GW2.
And to complete your little lazy gamer wants the shinies only theory:
I would not give a single dump about raids if there were not the only place to get legendary armor, and I love the diversity of them and want to have such an armor. So yes, you are right when you think that I want the rewards only from raids, and would be really happy if there were other methods to do it. If I am bothered long enough by running against the raids with zero gain, I may still just say screw that and call it a day.
Does that devalue me as a customer? Or a player?
Please keep in mind that I have some characters in full ascended, including weaponry and another one on the way, so I would not even statistically lose something right now if I skipped raids. But telling people to stay in their circles and let the other people enjoy the new content is just wrong on so many levels.
this whole discussion is about the “grind” for legendary armor, there isnt ANY content that your being locked away from, its a reward that’s is obtained from doing a bunch of different types of content, but doing it A LOT. the legendary itself has nothing to do with actually PLAYING any of the game, all of the different content can be played in different amounts based on your preference, no one is forcing you to play stuff you don’t like. your all complaining about a completely OPTIONAL and UNNECESSARY luxury item.
and how is telling people to stay in their circles and let other people enjoy the content they want to play wrong? your coming from a completely selfish point of view if you think that’s wrong. over the past 3 years people have been requesting new content and new types of content. HoT is coming with a whole bunch of new stuff, just because you don’t happen to like EVERY SINGLE new thing coming doesn’t mean anet should have to change it to your specific desires. other people DO like the way they have implemented new features and you cant please everyone. take the expansion for what it is, if you find there is not enough content that caters to your needs then quit and request a refund.
If the process of getting the legendary is more trouble than its worth then dont get it.
That is certainly one option. I don’t feel that it is the best option. I feel that if I can convince ANet to change their mind, to change the process to one that is more reasonable, then I would be able to pursue that new process and get the Legendary I want, and that would leave me happier, so that is the course I am pursuing.
You have played up to this point without legendary armor so why do you all of a sudden need it so bad?
It didn’t exist up to this point. Build it and they will come.
You dont, you want a prestigious item to feel special but dont want to do the work for it.
Prestige? No. Couldn’t care less. Cool look? Definitely. I don’t know that the Legendary armor will look good, there’s a decent chance it won’t, but assuming it does, I will want it, at least a few pieces to mix into my wardrobe. But no, I find the idea of “prestige” in a video game to be amusing, at best.
You arnt the type of player legendarys are intended for
Then they shouldn’t have made them look cool.
If they just wanted them as a status symbol, to say “I have done more things than most players,” then they should have used the mithril weapon models and just slapped the word “I am a special snowflake” on them in bright green paint. Then everyone would now what a special snowflake you are for having one.
But instead, they made them look really cool, so that people would want to have one whether they had any interest in being a . . . lol. . .“legendary player,” or not.
Lol so you think that a game thats endgame revolves around finding the coolest cosmetic skins to deck yourself out with should make the skins they intentionally design to be the hardest to obtain be the ugliest and least desired just so YOU dont have to go through the trouble of getting it because it requires work?
The whole point of legendarys is the skin. Otherwise people wpuld only get ascended and reskin it. And agaun, you have ZERO idea what the armor looks like yet you claim that the only reason you want it is for looks…..what?
ROFL wow you are so self centered. So basically your argument is that you want every single skin in the game without ever having to work for it ever.
No, that’s what you’re saying I want because you want to paint me out as someone irrational that you can comfortably ignore.
I have no problem with working for the rewards I earn, I just want the methods available to have a wide variety, so that it’s more likely that I will enjoy the gameplay activities I am doing, and I expect that the path should be reasonable, not made more complicated or time consuming than the reward is actually worth.
If the process of getting the legendary is more trouble than its worth then dont get it. You have played up to this point without legendary armor so why do you all of a sudden need it so bad? You dont, you want a prestigious item to feel special but dont want to do the work for it. You dont even know what the armor looks like yet MUST have it.
Legendarys are not needed for ANYTHING in the game, they are status symbols that anet themselves have said are intended to show a player has mastered ALL the gamemodes to some extent, not for casual players who only do one narrow portion of the game and only that. If you arnt a legendary player than you dont deserve a legendar armor set. You are demanding rewards you havnt earned. You arnt the type of player legendarys are intended for
Exactly you just prooved my point. All you care about are the rewards.
No, Remember that the words I said were that I didn’t only care about the rewards. That might have been a clue.
I care about the rewards only because I care about the gameplay, because I want to look my best as I play the gameplay. If I didn’t care about the gameplay then the rewards wouldn’t matter to me at all.
But you dont actually want to play the content needed to obtain them.
I don’t want to play content that I don’t want to play, because that takes away time that I could instead be playing content that I do want to play. Why does that seem weird to you?
Legendarys are NOT for every single person in the game, its for the MOST dedicated players who are willing to put a bunch of work into reaching the goal.
No.
If you dont want to go through the work to get a completely optional and non required luxory item, then that item isnt for you, forget about it and PLAY THE GAME
But why play the game without the item that I want, when instead I could be playing the content with the item I want?
ROFL wow you are so self centered. So basically your argument is that you want every single skin in the game without ever having to work for it ever. You want anet to completely remove rewards from everything in the game and just let you have them just because you dont like doing specific things.
Except all those things were ADDED to the game. They didnt replace anything. If you dont like the new content DONT PLAY IT.
Which largely holds up, the problem is when they add new rewards to those content streams, rewards that they could have and would have added to other areas of the game if those content streams were not available. I have zero problem with not doing raids, but I do have a problem with not being able to get Legendary armor because I don’t do raids. I have zero problem with deciding to not do a Legendary Precursor Grindquest because it seems like a waste of time, I do have a problem with them not providing a better alternative way of earning Precursors than the Grindquest.
All of your posts on multiple threads just show that all youcare about is rewards and not actualy playing the game as if you are entitled to all rewards in the game for only doing what you want
I only care about rewards because I enjoy playing the game. There are plenty of games out there that offer fancy things that I do not play because I don’t enjoy the gameplay.
Exactly you just prooved my point. All you care about are the rewards. But you dont actually want to play the content needed to obtain them. Your just saying gimmy gimmy. Legendarys are NOT for every single person in the game, its for the MOST dedicated players who are willing to put a bunch of work into reaching the goal. If you dont want to go through the work to get a completely optional and non required luxory item, then that item isnt for you, forget about it and PLAY THE GAME
Bingo that people choose a game that appeals to their sense of fun and achievement when others do not? Is that serious?
But remember that this is a CHANGE to the current game. The game I chose did not have raiding. I partially chose it because it did not have raiding. The game I chose had a firewall between PvP and PvE rewards and progression. It also did not have Fractals, did not have Ascended armor, did not have the new Legendary Grind, etc. If you’re going to use the “you chose the wrong game” argument, then that would apply more to people who did want those things. The game I choose was the game for me, it’s just since been moving further and further away from being that game.
It doesn't make any sense. It just doesn't.

People seriously put zero thought into things. They see nerfs and scream bloody murder. Heart of thorns is adding a bunch of new content and with that content comes stuff to do that gives rewards. Look at silverwastes, that got added and is now the go to place to make gold. If they just add better and better rewards to new stuff without adjusting rewards of old content you will get a situation like wow where 100g back at launch was a lot, now you need like 10,000g to buy what 100g used to get you. They are preventing inflation, calm down ppl

That’s not “just a skin”.
