Not everyone has to build for shatters. Phantasms are more fun too. I don’t have an issue with the changes tho, only gained 3s on Duelist, I’m surprised it happened tho.

No, the Weapon recharge doesnt stack with illusion recharge. They never were 40%.

Somehow I see it as an overlook on their part in the first place, such as the new 20% recharge on weapons, phantasms now gains 40% reduction instead of 20%. so 15 used to drop to 12s. Now 20 – 40% = 12s.

I don’t mind it too much, there isn’t a wide area of choices a mesmer has regarding runes practicality, so I run with MF runes.

The primary source of aggro is proximity, then other sources comes into account. I “tank” the effigy fairly often when doing 1 of the CoF bosses.

Brings you down to 12 seconds instead of 9s on phantasms. It’s not a big issue really. In PvE I usually use 1 phantasm per mob, in dungeons/on boss I usually always have 3 phantasms up and they don’t die right away, the skills themselves have time to recharge.

@Obsidian It’s not exactly that our GS is weak, it’s Warrior’s hundred blades that’s broken.
But that aside, this patch wasn’t a nerf. Sure we won’t have as many fields provided for our hammer but now we have easier-to-access finishers with this setup.

The only thing affecting me is the duelist which gained 3s cooldown, but it’s not a huge issue as a sword user. Sucks to be a staff user tho, they practically wants everyone to use GS in 1 of their set now, which I won’t do.

The main issue with scepter is the generation of clones that kills phantasms. Mesmers all around Tyria are waiting for the day they learn to use pistol in their main hands.
A possible fix to scepter would be to make clones not destroy phantasms when you have 3 of them.

Well I’m really confused on how the new system works, so far it only been burdening me. For example, I haven’t played the day before and yesturdays instead of getting 120 tokens I got:
30 tokens for clearing Magg’s Path instead of 60.
Then ONLY 15 tokens for beating that dreadful Effigy in 1st path instead of my hard earned 60…

There removed the bleed on auto attack and added cooldowns. Also made the #3 skill remove it instead with a chance to steal. As for the clone, do take into account that they don’t do damage. The staff’s clone does condition damage, the pistol version would be warping around, while still doing next to no damage.

Since many of us agree we’re lacking a main hand that does range damage, main hand pistol seems like the most logical choice, as we can already use it in offhand.
- Auto-Attack: Similar to the thief’s pistol attack rate. Causes Bleeding. Projectile Finisher: 20% chance.
- Aimed Shot: Shortly charge a magic bullet at the target. Causes either Burning or Poison for 1s on every shot. 50%/50% chance. 5s Cooldown.
- Illusionary Thief: Shoot a bullet and remove a boon (With 10% chance to steal it), while summoning a clone at the same time. 15s Cooldown.
- OR
- Illusionary Cripple: Shoot a bullet that cripples while summoning a clone at the same time. 10s Cooldown. (If this one, remove the cripple caused by clones)
- Main Hand Pistol Clones: Attacks like your Auto-Attack except it cripples.

The general idea would be to have the kit create mechanical toys oriented towards your race, but they all do the same things, just their appearance that changes, such as:
Asura: Golems.
Norn: Mechanical animals based on the 4 spirits.
Charr: Siege-weapons oriented toys.
Sylvari: Nature-related designs, such as oakhearts.
Now for the skills: X being the race-related design
- #1: Auto-attack: X Grenade: Throw a toy at the enemy which explodes on contact.
- #2: Mini X: Drop a small toy on the ground with wheels that rolls towards the target and explodes on contact and cause a small AoE around it. Can’t be targeted. Cause 1s cripple. Blast Finisher.
- #3: X: Drop a character-sized toy on the ground with wheels that rolls towards the target and explodes on contact and cause a larger AoE around it. Can be targeted, explodes where it dies if killed. Blast Finisher.
- #4: Decoy: Drop a mechanical toy statue representing your race that can be attacked and stays alive for 10s and shares your armor/toughness. Go in stealth for 3 seconds, gain vigor boon for 5 seconds. 25s cooldown.
- #5: Last Resort: Send out #1, #2 and #3 at once.
- #Toolbelt: Red Button: Get knocked back by an explosion (Similar to Elixir Gun’s 4’s effect) while sending out 3 #3 skill at the target.
