Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
Green items can be sold for 2s 40c to the npc at lvl 80.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
The 5th one isn’t needed tho, it just spams the chat for things nobody cares about. xP
The rest are probably things to come in the future tho.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
The Acolytes do however, have an absurd aggro range, you often see one come from VERY far away to go attack you.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
As mentioned before, it’s easier to balance (GW1 went into a lot of regular balancing due to all the skills and secondary profession system). I personally really like the current system as it is, even tho Mesmer is still lacking that main hand Pistol haha.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
Quaggan or Mursaat would be fun~
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
Just bad luck really, but you can save the skin you want like I did and put it on your end-game exotic. All my orrians were rampager.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
Sure, because they remain, to this day, the genre of game i enjoy, such as Lotro and DCUO. But GW2 still remains brand new and a much improved version of the genre. But when GW goes on maintenance (if ever), I’ll most likely go play DCUO haha.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
Sometimes I end up against 6 mobs in Orr and I still get out alive on my Mesmer. I’m a Sword/Focus + Pistol tho. Staff is too limited for my taste.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
I loved Orr, sure the fact that all of them pulled/immobilized you was irritating when you just wanted to explore, but those zones are much more challenging than the previous ones.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
Excelsior without Bookah? :o
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
Acid Bomb, Elixir F & Super Elixir are not affected by the Elixir traits.
Elixir F & Super Elixir aren’t affected by the 20% cooldown of the Elixir Gun trait.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
Might just be bad timing, a tip I could give you is to add people that you group with and are good to your friends, so you can ask them later about doing a certain dungeon when you’re forming a party.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
Personally I’m hoping the expansions will be available for gems, so people that have invested a lot of time in the game and ends up with a lot of gold they do not have use for could potentially receive that expansion for “free” by buying the gems the expansion cost.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
It’s mainly an issue with crafted items, you spend a bunch to buy the materials just to end up selling it to the npc due to the TP’s price for it…
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
Pretty much any build that only involves 1 or 2 sets of skills/kit.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
The Flamethrower needs to be viewed as a short range weapon, but I will admit there are targeting issues with knocked down targets at point blank range, but I have faith that this will be resolved soon.
Well it’s a midrange weapon.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
i would like to see a snare on the flame thrower, and turn the majority of damage into condition damage. a flame thrower works by dousing the target in flaming liquids, so by that logic it should dot based damge.
Flamethrower is primary a power weapon, the condition counterpart is the Elixir Gun.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
There are multiple issues with my build, but that’s what in-game bug reports are for.
Some bugs that stands out:
Acid Bomb, Elixir F & Super Elixir are not affected by the Elixir traits.
Elixir F & Super Elixir aren’t affected by the 20% cooldown of the Elixir Gun trait.
Elixir U’s Quickness lasts only 5s instead of 48s.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
The link I posted has al lthe heavy armors shown on the asura.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
Helm is Vigil, Shoulders are Nobleman, not sure if the rest is Nobleman as well.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
It’s underrated for sure, people always ask me how I do so much damage since the pvp npcs hardly take 2k out of me before collapsing.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
Just level with the tools you can use until you reach 60, remember your traits reset when you use a book.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
I started with lvling my main asura mesmer to 80, made my 7 chars already tho, got a lvl 11 bookah thief which I found too plain and simple to play, and now working on maxing my lvl 17 asura engineer right now.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
I’d post mine, but I have yet to obtain my Savant set haha. :P
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
It’s a heavy armor.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
Engineer and Mesmer can do some high condition damage. But pretty much any professions can go that path.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
The probability of having an option to change your gender/look is high, we had this option available in GW1.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
I’m guessing Mr. Sparkles will go over there to save the day.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
Well I was saving Big Bridget for a male norn, but you can use it if you want. :P
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
Elem has some serious healing at 1150/tick. Definitely viable at level 80.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
^ 2nd one would be next to useless, I hardly seen anything use a boon lol.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
As the title mentions, is there a version of his armor set that the players can obtain? It’d look pretty awesome on a mesmer.
I’m referring to the draconic energy aura armor set he has in CoE.

I posted my build in the forum section, feel free to check it out.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
Best:
Phantasmal Warden
Temporal Curtain > Into the Void
Blurred Frenzy
Phantasmal Warden does great damage and it aoes AND it reflects projectiles.
Into the Void is our best CC and can bring mobs into a single group.
Blurred Frenzy does very high damage, aoes and makes you invulnerable doing so.
Worst:
Scepter’s primary attack
Mirror
Mimic
Scepter does horrible damage and destroys your phantasms.
Mirror is too situational and inefficient, Ether Feast is much better.
Mimic is like a worst version of Feedback that doesn’t provide a field.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
Mesmers are nearly perfect right now, they’re only missing a main hand pistol to have a reliable main hand range weapon that doesn’t destroy your phantasms.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
Sword/Focus + Pistol is by far the set I find the most efficient.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
Mesmer is my main character, and I really love it, much more than the other classes, even tho I’m starting to enjoy my 2nd “main” character in progress, a flamethrower/elixir gun Asura engineer.
I see many people having trouble finding which weapons to use or which traits to get, so I thought posting my build would help some of them to at least get a general idea of what mesmer can do and how great they are.
Note: In dungeons you can change Glamour Mastery to Medic’s Feedback if you want to. Also you may want Compounding Power instead of Masterful Reflection, that’s just a preference for me.
http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/?fgQQNAs9alwzqqHVzhG19IxJFMf5oUgdvX6BuzNvB;TQAg1GEs9Y6B
Blurred Frenzy (8s) – Great damage, makes you invulnerable and hits up to 3 targets at once.
Illusionary Leap/Swap (9.5s) – Used to kill to cause confusion and to give yourself Chaos Armor/Retaliation by comboing to your field skills.
Phantasmal Duelist (9s → Nerfed to 12s) – Your main source of damage, also causes massive amount of bleeding and combos.
Magic Bullet (20s) – Great for interrupting 2 targets + blinding a third one, need to be careful when used in dungeons to not aggro.
Temporal Curtain (20s) – Good general exploring skill to grant swiftness. In combat, it gives swiftness to your allies and cripples your foes. It also counts as a Light Field, which will setup for many good combos, such as Remove Condition from projectiles.
Into the Void – Your 2nd skill of Temporal Curtain, it pulls every mobs near it towards it, knocking them down and interrupting them in the process. Great tool to group mobs together and can also be used to break groups to aggro less of them at once as the pull do not cause aggro.
Phantasmal Warden (15s) – Strong AoE that also reflects projectiles, the only flaw is that currently, he doesn’t move so can be used as a shatter sometime during the battle.
Ether Feast (20s) – Well it’s by far our best heal, so there isn’t much to say on this one.
Feedback (32s) – Your main Anti-Range skill which also causes your Duelists to do 8 stack of confusion each. Provides a Ethereal Field.
Null Field (36s) – Removes boons on enemies and cures conditions of allies while also providing a trigger for your Duelists’ confusion. Provides a Ethereal Field.
Signet of Illusions – So your phantasms last longer.
Summon D-Series Golem (180s) – Well this is a personal favorite, an extra projectile reflection never hurts, as well as a bonus meat shield in the process. Asura Only.
Now, a good way to use my build:
Into the Void them into a group/blob > Phantasm Warden (Best used on a range mob) > Switch to Pistol > Phantasmal Duelist another target > Switch to a 3rd target/what the group is attacking or 1st target if there’s only 2 of them > Magic Bullet > Blurred Frenzy > Dodge away if needed > Duelist something with health > attack normally and resummon Duelists as much as you want while going in to Frenzy when it’s up. Also use your feedback/null field to reflect their projectiles while setting up fields for your Duelists to stack confusion.
Weapons:
1st Set: Sword/Focus
2nd Set: Pistol (But you can switch it to Staff before going into a boss fight if you prefer warlock’s damage at the cost of pistol’s massive confusion/bleeding and CC protection reduction from Magic Bullet)
Armors:
Half with Rampager, Half with Knight, you can go with full Rampager, but a bit of toughness never hurts.
Jewelry:
Emerald Ring and Earring and the rest in Coral, but again, you could go full Coral.

Grab 30 earth and 30 water, water elem staff + remove conditions when you apply regen + Dwayna runes + Shaman or Cleric armors/jewelry.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
That is definitely what the mesmer is lacking right now, a range main hand weapon that does damage and doesn’t screw up your phantasms.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer

Moa is far from it, 10s duration on like 3-4m cooldown? I’ll stick to my Defensive Golem any day.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
The weapon not affecting the kits is a HUGE bonus for us, no need to get exotic weapons, the only issue on that however is that sigils on weapons do not work when you’re using a kit, which is something I think should be taken into account.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
This is something we want to fix as soon as possible. Thanks for bringing it some attention. If it was simple we would have done it already, but we are working on it.
Jon
Great, this was the main issue I had with my engineer, glad to see it being worked on.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
A sturdy player won’t be able to take much of a beating either, they have to dodge and get away from damage as well, just that he can take more hits before going down.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
I play on Tarnished Coast and i don’t roleplay at all, I think I only saw 1 person doing so, I might even have seen a guild try to recruit rpers.
The home of the Asuras shall remain PvE/WvW for me.

Do like everyone else, craft your exotic end-game gear with the stats you want and transmute the armor set you want over it…?
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
I’m a mesmer as well, haven’t found many rares yet but I only have 1 pirate rune equipped out of 6 right now as I only craft them for my exotic pieces. I’d suggest completing the lvl 70+ zones 100% to receive 2 exotic weapons from each map tho.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
I’d suggest mesmer as I have a 80 asura mesmer and adore the class. They have a big impact in combat as well.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
The chests are great as they are now.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
I have yet to even find snatchel recipes?
