It’d be nice if people that enjoy SAB could buy a portable SAB in the store so we can play it during any time of the year, so we wouldn’t have to wait a year to be able to play it for a week. :P
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
not everyone waste 300 G to be a commander and almost no one ask to be inside the squad… this new tag is a blessing, you don’t need a real comm to lead an event train anyway
This. Gold is better used elsewhere.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
You can still do dungeons for the cosmetics and legendary stuff like it was intended in the first place.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
Needs a good amount of boon removals and reflects also help.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
I use master salvage on yellows, normal savage on whites, sell blues to the npcs and put greens in the mystic toilet.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
SAB is the best tho. :o
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
I really want to get the boomboxes as I wasn’t around when World 2 came out, and I’d love to play World 2 as well. Was curious if there was any plan to bring it back sometime in the near future? When it first came out I spent so many hours in it across my 8 characters… lol.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
What is this post about exactly? I haven’t seen any changes to my Mesmer. 0.o
Except the new traits of course.

There’s many ways to play Mesmer and they all can do great in dungeons. I’d suggest you make a build towards the mechanics you like the most about the class.
I personally run a Retaliation build with Soldier stats.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
I made some changes, so instead of mostly focusing on Burning I also raised power for retaliation and dropped the Aegis healing.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
I was playing around to try to find a play style that isn’t used much on guardian, and this is what I ended up with:

Well with 2 weapon sets you’d have 1 on each weapon, so if one breaks, you can use your other one. Same would apply if they were utilities, equip 2+ of them.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
Hm… I don’t understand how you got the 50 seconds duration and 110 second loop?
Ward of Movement has 10 charges, grants you 3s swiftness every 5 seconds, and has a 60 second cooldown once is it dispelled/cancelled.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
I designed it so the wards affect you as well, exception being the signet skill.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
Yup wards would be the Vanguard’s class mechanic. Either have 1 per weapon set or have them in utilities, similar to mesmer’s phantasms, there would be a ward heal and elite skill either way.
The charges is mainly to give a better form of balancing, especially in pvp, if you couldn’t break the Shielding/Frost wards in any way it could become quite overpowered.
The ward stays active in and out of combat, it only wears off if you get hit X number of times or if it gets removed.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
Armor Type: Heavy
Weapon Types: Sword, Dagger, Scepter, Greatsword, Torch, Warhorn, Spear, Trident
Description: Vanguard would be a profession that wears heavy armor and uses wards and fields in battle.
Wards Mechanics: Similar effect as in GW1, except it is projected around your character like an aura-type effect that helps yourself and allies and in some cases harm foes inside it.
Ward Rules:
-Only 1 ward can be activated at once, using another one will remove the previous one and send it on cooldown.
-Similar to Necromancer’s Summons, once a ward is activated, it is always active until canceled (or removed/dispelled), and once removed, begin the cooldown on that skill.
-Casting a ward will give yourself an icon with a number, everytime you get hit, that number decreases, once the number reaches 0, the ward is dispelled. (Example: Cast a ward with a value of 25, once you get hit 25 times, you lose that ward, will call these Charges for now)
-Has its own category, like auras, they are not considered a boon or debuff.
.
Possible Ward Skills: (Either have utility wards or have 1 ward per weapon type)
Ward of Regeneration (Heal Skill): 25 Charges, 900 Radius, 30 second Cooldown, Inital self heal like every heal skills and the ward effect: Grants 3s Regeneration to allies inside the ward every 5 seconds.
Ward of Shielding: 10 Charges, 600 Radius, 90 second Cooldown, Grants a random 5 second aura every 5 seconds.
Ward of Movement: 10 Charges, 300 Radius, 60 second Cooldown, Grants 3s Swiftness to allies and 3s Cripple to Enemies inside the ward every 5 seconds.
Ward of Battle: 15 Charges, 400 radius, 45 second Cooldown, Grants a random 3s boon to allies in the ward every 5 seconds.
Ward of Corruption: 15 Charges, 600 radius, 45 seconds Cooldown, Grants Poison, Bleed or Burning for 3 seconds to Enemies inside the ward every 5 seconds.
Frost Ward: 10 Charges, 300 Radius, 60 second Cooldown, Grants Chill for 3 seconds to Enemies inside the ward every 5 seconds.
Nullifying Ward: 10 Charges, 400 radius, 60 seconds Cooldown, Removes a debuff on allies and a boon from Enemies every 5 seconds.
Paragon Ward (Elite): 5 Charges, X Radius, 240 second Cooldown, Grants the effect of every wards at once.
.
Some possible utility skills:
“Go for the eyes!” (Shout): Very similar from the GW1 version, makes all allies’ next attack cause blind.
“Destroy Them!” (Shout): Grants 3s quickness to all allies.
“Finish Them!” (Shout): Grants +25% damage to all allies against enemies under 50% health for 10 seconds.
Signet of Leadership: Passive: Deal 3% more damage for each ally near you. Active: Grant yourself a random boon for each ally near you. (Max 12%, which is a full party, doesn’t count yourself)
Corrupt Ward (Counter): Convert a enemy ward, giving them 25 charges, 600 radius, and preventing them from using another ward until that one is gone. Causes the enemy’s allies and himself to take damage every 5 seconds. To remove the charges, the enemy has to attack 25 times (25 hits, doesn’t have to hit anything to count).
Boon Converter (Counter): Places a debuff that causes every new boon received to become debuffs instead.
Fast Metabolism (Counter): Places a boon on yourself that causes every new debuff received to become boons instead.

The most unique and unusual profession in the game.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
3 Asura, 2 Sylvari, 2 Charr, 1 Human. Pretty much only played my 3 Asuras lol. Asura defines Tyria.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
I love the noises they make.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
The skins they currently have fits very well with my Asura actually.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
Well I had a couple of ideas that would be interesting to see in SAB while they’re adding the other worlds~
Well lets start with new rewards:
Permanent SAB Box o’ Fun
Skins:
-Currently missing weapons.
-Legendary Weapon of each type requiring similar mats as the other legendaries, but one component needing 250 Bauble Bubbles, something like Gift of SAB. *Such as the Boss’ swords in the cinematic of World 1.
-Armor set for each type.
And now some in-game Items:
-Master Stick: Deals 40 damage, still needing 2 hits for 50 hp enemies, but killing 75 hp enemies in 2 hits as well.
-Legendary Stick of Destiny: Deals 75 damage.
-Lucky Boomrang: Mid range, 25 damage, 15% chance to give 5 Baubles on kill.
-Rich Man’s Purse: Can carry 999 Baubles.
-Light Armor: Negates 5 damage.
-Medium Armor: Negates 10 damage.
-Heavy Armor: Negates 15 damage.
-Super Bomb: Deals 75 damage in a larger area, also able to break metal hidden areas.
-Lockpick: Similar to Digger’s design, 20% chance to unlock a chest without using a key, 10 second cooldown. *In group, you’d only be able to unlock 1 lock per person using this tool.
-Balloon (Inspired by Balloon Fight on Nes): Lets you levitate for a short duration, able to reach certain heigths and possibly future hidden area, I was thinking somewhere around half a bouncing mushroom’s height. *Would have to be obtained late in the game, so it doesn’t make certain jumping puzzles trivial, also perhaps disable it in hard mode.

Definitely need this to be permanent, and hopefully have the 3 other worlds released by the time Moto finish his invention.

^ This.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
Yes, like GW1.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
Just move it to Karka Land rather than in LA. Nobody is going out there anyway once you do the content. It’s one of the most boring zones on the map. Back to Orr or Frostgorge for me.
Probably the easiest map to get Orichalcum from.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
You’d be surprised what a healing specced water elem or mantra mesmer can do for the group.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
If it’s explorable chances are they want another lvl 80 to have an easier time farming the tokens.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
That’s a point of view, the way I see it right now, you need an absurd amount of money to make 1 piece even if you find the material(s) you need. I like the dungeon, but I don’t think I’ll ever get to enjoy difficulty 10+ simply because of 2 main flaws:
1: The materials required to make 1 piece is extremely expensive (251 ectos + another material valued 1g a piece)
2: There’s no Ascended pieces for Rampager, making us Rampagers unable to have Ascended gears (Which I suspect/hopefully is only a temporary flaw and will be added in a later patch)
LotRO once added something similar for new dungeons which was removed later, a lot of people, including myself were against that whole grinding system and just didn’t grind that gear and ignored those dungeons entirely, until they removed it anyways. <- In GW2’s case the grinding comes from having to farm like 75g for a piece of gear.

Gangnam style belongs to Tengu! xP
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
Until they let us Rampagers have Ascended gear, the new system is useless.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
Mesmer. Because they can do everything and are master supports.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
Will we be able to craft Ascended items as well in a later update? Because from what it appears now, we don’t have access to them as Rampagers.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
@Qelris Every field provides decent combos, so the randomness is part of its uniqueness.
@Carighan That could be interesting as well.
@EasymodeX Perhaps it could be something like 5s with a 30s cooldown. (24s with trait)
@Marxo Not really, chaos storm damages, buffs and debuffs at the same time. This field doesn’t do damage by itself and only provides 1 thing depending on the field that is up.
@EvGenius How is it op? The effects don’t stack on themselves as they last 1 second and ticks every second.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
My best guess would be a Reduction mesmer + they were in a weakness or blinding field of a necro/asura/thief.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
Plague Signet now turns your allies into Necromancers for 240 seconds. They do not have the weapon skills trained, however.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
This nerf doesn’t even do anything, so it’s fine to me.
Being unable to knock down friendly npcs anymore removes the core ability of my guardian tho.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
Yes, mesmers excel beyond the usual gameplay of other professions.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
Yeah I’ll have to try again myself.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
Rampager, but I prefer to go half-half Rampager/Knight.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
It would be nice if we had some more glamours or fields to play around and support our group with, so I came up with this idea:
Chaos Field
Utility Skill – Glamour
60 second cooldown. (48s with trait)
Generates a random area field on the ground that does a specific effect which ticks every seconds and last 15 seconds. (Similar to Radiation Field’s design, but perhaps a radius similar to Chaos Storm)
Dark: Blind foes for 1s. (Or: Grants allies attacks Lifestealing.)
Ethereal: Confuse foes for 1s.
Fire: Cause Burning for 1s.
Ice: Cause Chill for 1s.
Light: Grants Retaliation or Remove a condition every second to up to 5 allies inside.
Lightning: Grants Swiftness or Vigor every second to up to 5 allies inside.
Poison: Cause Weakness or Poison every second.
Smoke: Blind foes for 1s. (Or: Grants stealth to allies every second. | Or: Blocks hostile projectiles.)
Water: Grants Regeneration every second to up to 5 allies inside.

As I recall I could combo my blast in ring of warding before today.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
I use Hammer as main, GS as secondary.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
If anything, mesmer makes dungeons much easier in general.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
I prefer my golems.
Time Warp works wonders against bosses tho.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
Of course, it’s the most fun class to play in the game. It lives up to the fun factor of GW1’s mesmer, just plays differently. Great AoE damage with Into the Void + Warden + Sword as well.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
Well look at it this way: Rifle is more of a power/crit weapon while dual pistol is a condition set, I’d say pick the set you like best and adjust your stats to that factor.
My engineer runs a elixir gun build in Rampager.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
Yes I’ve been using this set since level 20 and still do, you only need to have 1 sword and keep your 2nd set’s main hand empty. Unless you want to have that 1 extra sigil in the other sword. This could also apply in having 2 main hand swords and have a single offhand to use the offhand in both sets.
I can “tank” things during harder battles while my group kills the others. A good example for this is the boss with the effigy in the CoF 1st path, I dump my phantasms on the boss and tank the effigy away from the group so it’s easier to kill the boss.
You just need to pay attention to the mob’s aoes and hard damaging attacks and know when to move away to not take the damage, or to time your Frenzy to damage and evade their attack at the same time. Also you can make use of your fields to give yourself Chaos Armor with the leap on the sword.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
(edited by Killua.8041)
I had made one before but it was more of a selfish build involving using 4 mantras for the +16% damage.
I personally prefer to stay away from raw power since Divinity runes are so expensive tho.
Bookah Protector – Asura Guardian | Trapped Spirit – Asura Necromancer
I personally ain’t a fan of the mesmer elites, I use time warp on CoF’s legendary effigy and that’s about it. I use Asura’s defensive golem elsewhere.
That plus Radiation Field is really useful at certain times.
