Whatever happens, I’ve always said DH deserves a better match up. No one likes being farmed for badges (IoJ when DH & DR were in this tier). You misunderstand. Every time I log on WvW, I hear my own servermates complaining about the zoomhackers in SF/IoJ. Many of them have logs of screens and “proof.” I’m not hurt that I’m being lumped in with hackers; I’m tired because people are blatantly ignoring common sense and QQ’ing about it on the public forums. There’s a time and a place, and this is neither. Go through proper channels or send private communications to guild leaders; stop wasting space here.

I tend to command a lot, and have yet to see an IoJ even look like they are zoomhacking, if you or anyone else have screenshots of our server zoomhacking/exploiting, feel free to pm them to me! I would love to see who (if anyone) is zoomhacking on our server because everyone i’ve talked to about it outright hates it.

Its not wasting space here, it is a HUGE problem that is somewhat ruining this matchup, we make it public and hope your server takes notice. Exploiting should not be encouraged. This is the time and place. I’ve talked to an [abys] member about one of them zoomhacking, nothing has been done about it as it is still happening.

A DH member that made a post then deleted it about SF ‘Zoomhacking’ i replied to it as he clearly didnt understand what zoomhacking was. If thats what people are calling out and screenshotting i will laugh my kitten off.

but my question is, where did everyone go when we took it? You guys had roughly 30-35 people defending Hills, but when it came time for your Garrison it was vacant. We were all a bit confused.

Like my post above, SF had a lot of people defending OW and some defending Veloka but once we capped their 4 towers and hit the keep, we got in there and saw 2 people in the lords room on balistas.

Thats one thing SF need to address ASAP! The moral of your server drops so fast. Us on IoJ, we have a core group that will fight till the last supply camp falls and when that happens, we’ll be popping breakouts and hitting keeps straight after!

I laugh at the DR guys now, the ones that were saying that they’d stomp us if we didnt have Darkhaven to hide behind…We’ve been ahead of Darkhaven this whole week i think? Not for much longer as you guys are slowly gaining points!

I’ve had A LOT of fun trying to flip DHs stuff! Taking all of EB again last night is still new to me Their Borderlands seems a lot harder than EB, not when SF come in and flip their garrison but

And a tip to you SF guys, DONT GIVE UP SO EASILY! It should NOT be that easy to flip veloka and your overlook with the ~25 people we had, We’ve held off 35-45 SBI, countless golems at that keep with the 10-15 people we had defending!

You can’t really get mad about 10-15 people capping the breakout tower, you guys have been on our BL capping breakout towers and other multiple times, it happens, its WvW. Also a lot of people just look for a fight, you should be happy that we think you guys are better than Zoomhaven/Zerghaven

For you SF server people, here is a bit of help form a friendly commander in DR.

DH wins in numbers, try divide and conquer. The usually leave there BL completely defenseless when on the offence. Main force in EB and a smaller but still big force in one of the other BLs. Thats the chance to hit.

IoJ main days are Monday and Thursday mornings (7-10 eastern) were they have a good size force and PvE door everything. Overall, their zergs normally lose their morale after the first wipe.

We know how you feel, we had to face IoJ for who knows how long with constant “double teaming” cause IoJ plays for second. Not much info but it helps once you get the feel.

Who said anything about headbutting? Hit their supply, keep them guessing, keep skirmishing/picking off things like cannons/mortars that require ginormous amounts of supply, etc etc.

You realize 1/2 the reason SF is a no-show during oceanic is ‘cause we’ve simply rolled over ‘em with massive #’s? You crush morale for the few they have and they simply wait till later to play. No need to continue to do that week after week when we’ve already proven we can.

edit as of this post it’s around 11pm Oceanic and SF still has their keep on EB with a waypoint. And we took one of DH’s towers. And there’s been numerous times in the past we’ve scorched stonemist and towers all the way to their keep until DH rebounds, yes I’ve been on during oceanic to see it can be done. People just don’t want to. Even if they’re not pushing DH, just being on the map with their keep presents a target DH will want to eventually throw all their bodies at, thus buying us more time.

All I wanna do is have us step up our game in a way that also benefits us when our oceanics start to head to bed.

I know it can be done, earlier tonight around 7-8ish i kept flipping jerrifers and klovan with DH trebbing QL with multiple trebs. DH reinforce quickly, we lost a lot of people and lost our momentum and where was SF? 4-5 of them flipping umber and attempting danelon every now and then, which is fine by me, pugs will be pugs but thats all they had in EB? Their corner was untouched (except speldan) they just dont have the players.

I have flipped the entire SF borderlands with rarely seeing an SF defender, if they had people during that time dedicated to push DH when we did, why do they not bother showing up to defend their own borderlands? This all being when we were still in 3rd being dominated.
They never had the oceanic presence for us to both push DH much like our problem with DR. Except the fairweathers on SF is just amazing how many they have. We’re alone in our endeavour in hacking down the PPT of DH during oceanic prime.

To be honest, Nut up SF so what we flip all your upgrades when youre asleep, i’ve logged on countless times to see us losing stuff in our BL and having nothing in our corner in EB, this isnt T8 or T7 NOTHING is safe, everything has a chance of being flipped now, get used to it, fight on.

We’ve definitely resorted to smaller group tactics now and we fare well with the numbers we have, so in that aspect yes, that sentiment is shared with ET/FC. The problem is burnout and apathy, we lose too much during our lack of coverage, people don’t want to defend and upgrade, because honestly, it’s not worth it.

Hell, I even come in WvW much less than I used to simply because it’s much less entertaining/fun when we aren’t matched well.

I have yet to see a queue outside of those first two weekends, it’s rather sad, used to happen in Primetime almost daily.

You mean its not fun when you’re dominating the other 2 servers* This is the most even match up you will have, just like for us.

Like our fall from T5, you guys thought you were going to come into this tier and dominate, then you realise wait a minute…these servers are going to stomp us. It is a huge uppercut to the morale of your server but look at IoJ, our core group are still fighting strong and we’re starting to move up, finally staying second.

Could not begin to tell you the amount of money myself, and 100s of other players have put into upgrades, just for the tower/keep to flip against 30+ enemies with no hope of defending it.

Once your server gets used to this tier and snaps out of their t7/8 play, you guys will be back and then we’ll have ourselves a match up

Strongly disagree with you there. When one team is double-teamed, they buckle. It just happens 90% of the time. I buckle when double-teamed, most people do, it’s natural.

When two teams are outmanned and still putting pressure on the stronger server, the stronger server now has to even the odds vs. both teams or push hard on one team while the other one sucker punches ‘em in the gut. Southsun wrecked SF and IoJ ’cause frankly we were treading water to begin with, but you won’t ever see me to for SF anymore. And the more people push the stronger server, the more often the other smaller server will see that and push back.

When you keep cherry picking to play for 2nd, one team buckles, then the stronger server just washes over everybody with no hope to be seen (‘cause you just double teamed it into oblivion) and they’d rather retaliate and go kick you in the nuts before pushing the stronger server.

TL;dr: give the other smaller server less of a reason to come for your nuts, and you’re better off double-teaming the bigger server. Why even play for 2nd? 3rd place is the place to be—they get the best corner in EB IoJ has proven they can take 2nd if they want—we have nothing more to prove there. Let’s elevate our game and invite SF to join us in some nut-kicking all 3 servers can enjoy!!!

I get what you’re saying Nom, but how many times have you been on during oceanic time?

DH have enough to hold us off(somewhat) from their fully upgraded towers and keeps and SF have next to no presence whatsoever. Yeah its great when 2 weaker servers gang on the strongest, but when the 3rd server is a no show…what are we to do? Headbut the stronger server and get no where? Or flip the weakest server for PPT? There is rarely a double team happening against DH for them to buckle, either SF are zerging every map and IoJ is no where to be seen or vice versa.

It does vary from night to night (i will always hit DH before SF to test their defenses) Sometimes we wipe DH off the map, other times we cant even take Klovan/Wildcreek.

Its a 24/7 game, populations vary, youll never be able to get a full grasp on what goes on unless youre awake 24/7.

Haha our group of 5 SF inside hills had no intention of holding it so we didn’t care at all what was going on. We just had a blast farming badges. I also want to thank you stark for jumping on murder bridge and then letting me turn into a dolyak on your corpse, it truly made my night after what you did to my poor little body earlier. Anyways was some of the most fun I’ve had in WvW in forever thanks DH and IoJ.

Haha well, as Sweet Vex Cristal said we don’t participate in ebg, and for last night, i must say that we had too much fun in ur BL, that’s right u saved ur dear garrison twice but that’s not too difficult when u got pretty numbers to defend against a few attacking right? Even so we managed to break both doors and endure quite some time fighting (nice fights btw)
And the fight in your NE tower, i loved it, you managed to break the wall and we hold it until most of us get bored of not getting enough wxp and went back to SFB

When 90% of our players are at the south of the map recapping stuff and we get a call that the outer garrison gate is down with golems…i’d say we did fairly well to stop yas! The siege up in the lords room was built literally seconds before that inner gate went down!
Also once we got Cliffside wall down and killed your trebs, i felt it was to much of a timesink for us to recap the tower whilst you guys were defending it (with the wall down, little chance youd leave it as well) So i went and recapped Woodhaven and the northern camps before regrouping and coming back hoping exactly that, that you’d get bored there.

Honest question, is not any QQing, what is your stance in using spies to check on the other server movements? If you are not using it, please disregard this question, if you are, I honestly believe that kind of “tactic” is not needed when there is a better coverage in your server.

If a mesmer accidently glitches into a tower, i will not rush my zerg there to cap it, i will tell the mesmer to get out of it let alone use spies on other servers! Whats the point of playing if youre going to cheat? Using scouts (on your OWN server) and working out in your head where you think the enemy is going is a lot of fun imo, never got the point of spies…

If the SF guys actually saw how many people we had on sometimes during Oceanic prime, youd be amazed how much we get done in such little time!

Does DH have more numbers than SF during the night? I’m just curious why their areas were entirely untouched in that screencap earlier. I know we hurt on numbers at night, but it’s hard not to look at that and think we’re being ganged up on, between during the day (DH hitting us heavily) and at night (IoJ capping our stuff).

Or I guess another question would be, does IoJ not have as many numbers as they imply over night and only focus target one target at a time?

(I really need to stay up overnight one weekday and see what goes on).

Anyway, besides the two commanders that work with each other between IoJ and DH as mentioned, I doubt there’s actually an alliance as opposed to path of least resistance behavior (at least on IoJ’s side, dunno what DH’s excuse is).

Our oceanic crew is very little, if your night shift had any sense of defense, they wouldnt let us get that far, also your recapping crew need a lot of work and you guys will be fine.

And the 2 commanders that work with eachother? We merely poke fun at SF and threaten to attack each others stuff

Last night when we were holding on to all of SFs BL, the organisation from IoJ was just amazing, bay would be contested ‘can someone scout bay’ instantly ‘northgates fine’ ‘watergate fine’ ‘south gate fine’ from 3-4 different people.

On top of the great scouting, people were constantly upgrading camps and recapping them, and to be honest, we had maybe a max of 20 people most of the time, not even. Its quality you want guys, not quantity.

And to the people asking why was SF getting focused so hard, its not so much the overall score i was worried about, getting blue was the main objective.

You do realise during NA times SF have zergs upon zergs, DH have zergs and IoJ are left with the outmanned buff struggling to hold onto what they got, then comes oceanic time, we hit DH, SF keep all their points and we wont catch them, we hit SF, DH extend their lead and we catch up to second, during oceanic times is when we get our points, NA is just trying to defend what we got most of the time.

PPT is PPT, doesn’t matter where you get it from. So saying that X,Y,Z is the order, Z does not have to hit Y to gain ground. You can hit X or Y, or a combination, just as long as your PPT is above theirs, and you can maintain it.

I would chalk it up to more of human nature to think: we are in 3rd, we should hit the #2 guys to get to 2nd. Whether that comes from the idea that 2nd holds “your points” you need, or that the folks in 1st are too difficult, is debatable.

The comment I made was coming from the standpoint of PPT. The thought is that you could better maximize your PPT if you did not have such tunnel vision on SF during NA primetime. In the past SF as a server has had some “bad-blood” with other servers, and due to that we camped them. This allowed the 3rd server to probably own more points/PPT than they should have truly gotten. This was an inefficient strategy in the sense of “maximizing our PPT”, but we were winning/satisfied with the margins on the scoreboard, so it didn’t really register at the time as being “inefficient”. But hey like I said, do whatever you guys think is best, I guess I was just curious on what the thought process was on your end.

With the ticks being every 15minutes, we need to maximise our ppt and minimize yours as much as possible whilst we can.

If we hit DH, we will get less PPT for half the time as DH’s recovery time is a lot faster than SF, we will not be able to maintain the PPT lead for long enough to even secure second.

So by attacking SF we will be getting a lot more PPT, for a lot longer PLUS you guys will have a lot less for the same amount of time.
On top of that, we have a 100-150 more ppt than DH this whole time, so by attacking SF in force we are both gaining a secure 2nd place and slowly catching up to 1st.

I think you guys take our comments of “reality” and read them as “blame”…Cap anything you guys want lol. Most the time people do not mean to come off as “whiny”, they are really just saying “hey this is what is happening”. Sure there are some obvious potshots in there most times, but usually just competitive nature flowing over.

SF isn’t whiny at all, at least not to each other….Our map chat isn’t full of QQing, it is usually full of people laughing or joking around, with the occasional “wtf alliance” jokes sprinkled in.

I think the only real issue that many of us on SF have, is that we get why DH would want to “work together” (for lack of a better term), but we do not see what the impetus is for IoJ. I mean good on you guys for getting 2nd place in T6, if that is your aim.

But realistically, had you been pressing DH more this week, and then owning us during the oceanic hours as you tend to do, then you would in all likelihood be in 1st place or pressing DH for first place. As it stands now, in an odd way, this “alliance” (again using a terrible word to describe whatever it is), is benefiting SF in the sense that it keeps the match for 2nd pretty close.

That has been the talk/joke we have been having this week, is that for whatever reason, IoJ seems to be (I am guessing) unbeknownst to them, “cutting off their own nose, to spite their face”.

Say what you want about me or my server, but the reality is the only thing keeping IoJ for contending for the top spot, far as we can tell, is IoJ. Stark I think you were on to something at the first of this thread when you wanted to focus more on DH, but it seems as though your server disagreed (judging by your latter posts).

A lot of the time i see in map chat ‘IoJ cant win anything anymore’ ‘IoJ sucks now’ im sure it happens on all the servers, and to the people that are like that, take a step back and realise how hard all the people on your server are working to be where they are right now, instead of complaining, find ways to make your server better, contribute to the cause.

IoJ are a 3rd place server, even against DR we could rarely get 2nd place, now that our commanders and players are working overtime to actually get 2nd again, dont take that away from them by saying ‘oh we dont play for points’ thats just poor sportsmanship

As much as you may hate it, the points are what make WvW, the more you have, the better your server will be.

Either way I couldn’t care less about who wins at the end of the week as long as we continue to dominate your alliance on the days I have time to play.

if by dominate you mean omega golem rush the weakest server when theyre outmanned and let DH flip your towers youre doing a great job at it

SF pulling out the big guns, using their 15 omegas to take our keep! You lot showing a lot more fight than last week, lets see if you guys can hold this power the whole week, or if your server will succumb to coverage gaps.

Couldnt help but sit back and laugh at our inevitable demise when we saw those golems head to our keep.

After the breakout failing 3 times (twice getting the wall/gate down) You guys try for a fourth, catch us off gaurd and bring a golem and a lot more people, my god you lot make us laugh <3
