“Geez i really wonder why everyone makes smallest asurans in game ?”
Jesus christ this. I remember making my Asura a tick below the max height and I have never seen any other Asura as tall as mine. People defiantly do this solely for the competitive aspect.
Server: Darkhaven. The Besthaven.
The one thing I don’t get with EB is how out of whack their priorities are. DH tries to take Stonemist, so instead EB starts knocking on Durios’ door. We’re taking over NSP’s area, so instead EB sends a zerg to Quentin Lake, deep within our territory. They made a 6 golem army and held stonemist with it for 10 minutes before we took it back.
EB is small and easily traversal. Zergs do not work as well there as they do in the borderlands. You can’t JUST have zergs.

Say what? I set up the same way for every encounter. GS, Staff and shouts.
Nothing is more pleasing than defeating glass cannon humans, charr and norns as a 3 foot tall Asura.
Server: Darkhaven. The Besthaven.
When I play Asura, yes. They are a hyper violent race.

Pose as a team, cuz kitten just got real.
As for those behind me…
No idea.

If you’re willing to put 30 points into virture, go for it. I’m more of a shout and buff person. I get the most out of Altruistic Healing and Pure of Voice with my build.
Server: Darkhaven. The Besthaven.
In that case you should look harder. The video was already linked. I’ll post it again for you

Gotta go GS/Staff. Two-handed Mastery is awesome. Its not just having a 20% CD reduction, its also being 20% more useful in combat. Empower works so well with Whirling Wrath.
Regrettably, I always have a scepter and focus in my bag. There are too many zones that need a good ranged weapon.

I thought I’d share with you guys a strategy that works really well for Guardians in WvW.
What you need is,
- A Greatsword
- Soldier Armor (you’re going to take a lot of hits)
- Judge’s Intervention
- “Stand Your Ground!”
- Meditation Mastery (20% CD reduction to meditations)
- Superior Aria (20% CDreduction to shouts)
Basically, as a guardian I hate it when two forces are fighting each other on a random land area and I have nothing to do besides dance with my staff. If I approach the enemy, they’ll just focus me and I’ll die.
This is what you do. Find a crowded spot. Use Judge’s Intervention. Hit “Stand Your Ground.” Use Binding Blades and follow it up with whirling wrath. You’ll be dealing a ton of AoE damage and they’ll have no choice but to focus you. Hopefully, your allies will realize what’s going on and swarm in to help you. This has worked on numerous occasions for me against NSP (although it can’t stop hackers).
Give it a shot. Its pretty fun when coward thieves start spamming all their movement skills to get away from you since they can’t accept the fact that a tiny asura is dealing more damage to them than all their burst moves combined and will probably complatin later on the forums about how we’re OP people flee.
Server: Darkhaven. The Besthaven.
I find it great that even with NSP’s constant hacking and “great day attendance” their score is still lower than honest and good darkhaven teamwork.
Am I really expected to believe that NSP’s productivity dies at 11 pm EST every day?

Dear Ehmry Bay,
Please step it up. Don’t do a repeat of what happened during our Stormbluff days and provide zero resistance to the third server.
With love,

BB really lacks in usefulness when compared to other pull skills, such as the Necromancer’s Spectral Grasp. They are both regarded as pull moves, but only one actually does anything like that. Spectral Grasp can go through walls and pull people off cliffs. Binding Blades do not. Binding Blades require a clean path between the player and the pulled target. If anything is in the way, be it a cliff, a person or a pebble, they will immediately stop.
Binding Blade also has very little altitude adjustment. Then again, this would not matter since this move cannot pull people off cliffs anyway.
I’m just saying, this is not a true pull move. I do not know if it was intended to be this way, but as is it does not provide anywhere near the utility as other pull moves.

I agree with stoffer. So many of my candid screenshots are ruined by a giant blue shield.

Okay, when it comes to stats and armor,
Chests provide the most stats
Followed by Leggings
Then Helmets
Then everything else.
In other words, there are 4 tiers of stats. Lets compare the Valkyrie Draconic helm to the boots
Helm stats
Power +45
Vit +32
Crit Dmg +2%
Boot/Pauldron/Glove stats
Power +34
Vit +24
Crit Dmg +2%
That’s not a typo. The Helm, despite being a tier 3 stat armor, provides a tier 4 crit stat. I mix and match armor. Unfortunately for me, I did not know this at the time. I use 2 pieces of valk armor and 4 of knight. Because of this, I am not getting the full use of the valkyrie stats. The chest (tier 1) provides +5% crit, and tier 4 provides 2%. Shouldn’t the leggings provide 4% (they only give 3% now) and the helm then provide 3%?

I’m a guardian wearing full soldier armor. I WANT to be focused. This makes things better for me.

I get 2500 dmg in 2 hits with greatsword while wearing my bulky armor. I also don’t have to worry about longbows killing me before I even reach the wielder.

This is what I’ve noticed
- If you take too long to kill the regular mobs, he will spawn backup mobs.
- If you take too long to kill the backup mobs, they will despawn, only to respawn soon after
- If you cannot kill the backup mobs, the best you can do is go up the stairs and rely on ranged. For some reason, the backup mobs will only trigger when someone is on the ground floor, or on the first couple of steps.

So, apparently despite which of those two paths you take, you can jump over this door in the water and reach the other boss. Meaning, if you take the Plunderer path you can go and kill the Zealot as well. I was curious if anyone tried this. Or if its even a bug. Or if anyone would actually be willing to spend more time than they wanted to in that god forsaken dungeon. Because we all love underwater combat soooo much.

First of all, the thrice-greatest is spelled Treikittenistus, with a u.
second, UNDERWATER COMBAT SUCKS
Oh arenanet, you so funny.
Trism- egistus. without the dash or space.

I’ve server hopped a lot. banks and collections move with you. The only thing that doesn’t is the influence of the guild. Each guild’s influence pool is different depending on the server they’re in.

Well, six feet is almost twice their height.
at the same time its funny since six feet is a little above average for a human, and still small for a norn and a charr.
Server: Darkhaven. The Besthaven.
in that case go for the invader’s amulet

Leap of Faith’s mechanics are really weird. Its not a targeted skill at all. What it actually does is create a tiny aoe effect to where it plans on going. Like any aoe, it only takes effect if theres someone in it

You gotta kill the enemy that’s aggroed. That’s the only way besides moving far enough away.

my traits are allocated inside my prec/con.dmg and tough/crit.dmg. Going full soldiers would belittle my crit damage boost, so instead I use soldier armor and knight accessories. It give me a healthy balance.

you got it? its really annoying. There’s one place in Metrica province that can only be reachable via a dynamic event, and the gate only stays open for as long as the event goes on.
If you’re going for that juicy star, skim the map for blurry areas. Unless its the border, no areas within the known-world should be blurry.

Sigil of Accuracy only works on the weapon it’s slotted in. For example: slotting it in a main-hand axe will only give the 5% increase for skills 1-3. Using another sigil in your off-hand axe would give 5% for skills 4 and 5. Slotting a sigil in a two-handed weapon gives the increase for 1-5, of course.
Makes sense. Guardians have a trait that gives a 15% crit chance boost to right-handed weapons. This specifically means sword, mace and scepter.
This gives the impression that crit chance is not locked to the character, but to the weapons themselves
Server: Darkhaven. The Besthaven.
I will be forever confused. I have one simple question.
I have a sigil of air on mainhand and a sigil of blood on offhand. Do they conflict?
Server: Darkhaven. The Besthaven.
I’m actually specced for scepter in pvp and even there I despise it. I treat it more like an extension of my utility bar.

Server: Darkhaven. The Besthaven.
It must be purely coincidental that everyone that’s mocked me so far mains a thief and knows all too much about this exploit. People can’t be this indecent, right?
Server: Darkhaven. The Besthaven.
BUT TORCHES REALLY SUCK!
Server: Darkhaven. The Besthaven.
Whoa, I do not know what is up with all the hate between forum posters … sheesh.
Because when it comes to multiplayer games, the e-word to some people is equivalent to calling someone a ni—er.
Its not like I see this is a bannable offense. It is what it is. The extent of the damage only lasts as long as the match, not to mention it can be stopped eventually. Not like the chili poppers which could only be stopped by the devs.
Also no, it doesn’t prevent them from capping a point. A few games ago I saw a thief that would only do this. They’d leave the spawn and head straight to the ruins every time.
Server: Darkhaven. The Besthaven.
I always thought the Guardian Greatsword was one of the least pvp capable weapon. Okay yes, the retaliation was nice, but that mostly required you to stand still. Whirling Wrath was never really that strong and Binding doesn’t do that much. The utility given by greatswords is far more useful in pve than it is in pvp. When I think bunker builds, I think hammer, shields and maces. When I think of “I actually like moving my legs in combat” builds, I think sword, shield, focus and scepter.
Staff? Go back to pve and wubwub. They love you there. Torch? What’s a torch?
Server: Darkhaven. The Besthaven.
if you honestly believe that Arenanet sat down and said “Lets allow the thieves to never take damage as long as they do this, this and this” then yes, you are correct.
Thanks, I’m correct then, because I think this is working perflects as intended – For PvE.
I think the PvP aspect of it was overlooked during the design phase and it’s power wasnt realised. So yeah, the PvP aspect likely needs to change. It is not an exploit.
Even in PVE? Because its perfectly natural for someone to never be harmed while attacking. If this is your belief, then please just leave. We’re trying to fix a problem, not fuel the fire.
Why are you being so defensive? Everybody more or less agreed with you: the ability is dumb and probably not working as intended in PvP.
I think your choice of words (exploit, in this case) is the issue people are having. It’s not an exploit. It’s using an ability that’s probably not working as intended.
And, for the record, you CAN pretty much spam it indefinitely with the right build.
And when you use it in this type of situation, its called an exploit. You’re exploiting the thing that’s “not working as intended” to your advantage.

yes, not being warped back to the spawn by make a dodge roll is an unintended side effect of making a dodge roll outside of the spawn.
If there was a skill that gave permanent invulnerability, but didn’t say so, you guys would consider it an exploit. But a few skills and utility cobbled together that give permanent invulnerability isn’t?
Server: Darkhaven. The Besthaven.
oh no, someone on the forums threatened me! I have to go cry now!
an exploit, by definition, is when you find a beneficial, but unintended side effect from something. If you honestly believe that this near-invulnerability was intended, if you honestly believe that Arenanet sat down and said “Lets allow the thieves to never take damage as long as they do this, this and this” then yes, you are correct. But if you have even the shred of common sense to think “Oh wait, there’s no way this is right” then yes, this is an exploit.

I see that a moderator said in this thread
that the issue was “Solved.” That was 4 days ago. Its not solved at all. I had it happen 2 hours ago.
Server: Darkhaven. The Besthaven.
I am sick of this exploit. Whenever a thief does this, I may as well give in since it will be impossible to compete. I don’t play a thief, so I don’t know what these skills are but I’ll do my best to explain how it works.
A Thief goes to the Ruins cp. Then they keep using this skill to evade and deal damage. I believe it is Shadow Assault. They will keep spamming this skill, and since the channeling is so huge, their initiative recovery almost makes up for the usage. Almost.
When they run out of initiative, They use Hide in Shadows. I assume other factors are involved as well, but this basically allowed the thief to just sit and hardly ever take any damage, while at the same time becoming a wall of blades. Yeah, they don’t deal that much damage, but they don’t need to. There’s 4-5 sharks helping them out.
I saw that there is a similar thread here, but its in the Thief section
