Probably got thier map completion done. Also I’m overseas and haven’t been playing. Was kinda hoping AR would be hitting the stronger server like what was said last week but oh well.

From our experience last week, you are the stronger server. AR is smaller than both BP and SBI. SBI just has a very sporadic wvw crowd. It can go from an 80 man zerg chewing through our map, to a ghost town in your own borderlands.

Don’t blame us.

Man, the more I play folks from SBI the more I realize how angry and sad they are. Thief jumps me while fighting 6 krait, so I disengage the krait, because that just makes sense. He can’t kill me alone, but luckily he runs into several of his server mates. Happens, that’s WvW. Then I get this … Sorry that a thief couldn’t just insta gib me, really, sorry it took a 3 on one to finally get me down. But before you get all uppity, learn what a build can do, and don’t qq to me in a whisper then block me because you are inept at your class, and don’t understand mine.

Actually he invited me into a group. I never decline invites, then continued to talk in whispers until he blocked me. And the extent of what I said was what you see in the chat window because he seemed to think that evades were somehow glitches or hacks, and anyone who plays this game knows there are skills that evade if they are used correctly. The whisper you see is the first message I sent after he invited me, claimed I was glitching and broke group.

So I neither messaged this guy first, or said anything aside from what you see there.

Just because he is bad at a game doesn’t mean that everyone else is cheating. Maybe if he spent a little time in the mists and learned a few classes he wouldn’t be so bad at his class and at least give some of us a little challenge.

I can only go by the screenshot you posted…in which it appears you msged him first.

You made and assumption. It was incorrect. In the future you may want to refrain from doing so. If you do at least have the sense to apologize for doing so, heck even a ‘my bad’ would suffice. Unless of course your ego gets in the way.

It only counts if you are on NSP when you do it. If you have to xfer to BP to get payback, it makes you the kitten.

Scouting report on SBI if either of you two draw them next round.

Think of them as BP from 17-18 weeks ago. Big and disorganized that throws numbers @ problems.

-They will send a 40 man zerg to take a paper tower, if that failed, 50, if that fails 60…etc.

-No major guild, open field, think of them one large 80 man zerg. They can cause SM level lag fights in your borderland.

-Poor open field, if you can live past the lag, you should win.

-They love SM and will ignore their own BL if they own SM.

- They are about the same size as BP/Ebay as far as population, just lack any coordination.

-They can field 80+ @2am.

The zerg will move on from defended targets, but can chew thru reinforced gates if nobody is watching.

I was on TS with him at the time, and he was as baffled as everyone else about how he ended up in there. If someone were glitching [doors] on purpose (and I’m not aware of any AR WvWers who do) they would use a mesmer, obviously.

Baffled yet attacked a few SBI and then when players came in through the door downed he stopped em. Pretty classy stuff that ele. The door glitch can happen when you use a spinning movement on the door or ele 3 fire skill. All he had to do was jump back out the tower but guess we shouldn’t expect that from AR?

I’m sure he was more baffled why nobody was killing him.

Cute, AR and IoJ teaming up against us. One the one hand I’m flattered that we’re posing that much of a threat again, but on the other hand….really?

AR and IoJ are not teaming up on you. We have flipped your entire map 10+ times with out the help from IoJ and all were in the process of flipping IoJ’s map until the random update came up last night. SBI is no threat at all.. you are only ever in EBG making your map a ghost town and extremely easy to flip with 20 people.

Please SBI don’t make a bad name for yourselves saying: “They have to team up on us.. sad.”
That is what BP used as an excuse when we got to T5 “AR plays for second and they are teaming us.”

I can guarantee you that not one guild on Anvil Rock wants an alliance with any other server, so PLEASE for the sake of this forum being fun… stop assuming stupid things.

You would think that after 8 months of WvW they would figure out that in a 3 way match, someone is always getting teamed up on.

You are a threat if you happen to hit us while AR are pushing into us at the same time elsewhere. It forces us to make sacrifices and pick and choose what matters more to us, regardless of if you’re outmanned or whatever. This is especially relevant when our entire BL is turning a color other than ours for the entire week because we can only queue one map at a time in NA primetime. Don’t underestimate what you can do with 20 people who aren’t afraid of death; we’ve been there and felt it.

For the most part this matchup has been great this week, but definitely very unimpressed with the [ALS] guild from AR, several of whom seem overly willing to employ the zoom hack on the ACs. Sadly I’ve seen it from them all week long. I guess it’s not only the T1/2 servers that employ the hacks and exploits…

well, I am so impressed with AR, you can field lots of numbers up against us, and I am love to have some field fighting with you guys. However IOJ really make me disappointed. IOJ has zero contribution to this matchup, they can keep up the score just because we are busy and having fun with AR(I am still impressive with your numbers of omega golems, I never saw any others server such as SoS, Mag or CD will be like that). IOJ should practice more your own tactics and directly facing us on the battlefield but not hiding behind walls or follow AR’s tail to cap useless towers and camps.

Anvil Rock went from a 2 map server to having EB Q’d up @ prime time with spillover on 2 other maps.

While IoJ’s made their own recovery, AR’s a lot further along in their own recovery, having started a lot further back (late last year) and we started a few months ago. I’m pretty kitten impressed how far AR has rebounded, and how well they’re holding up against SBI and us put together (but mainly SBI).

I think IoJ is having a bit of a flop day…I sure as hell am. blegh. edit we get sucker punched like any other human beings but I think we react better than most servers do on defense of our BL. We can at least keep our final two EB towers, the keep, and typically our waypoints on our “homeland” alive long enough to rebound <3

Need to go get caffine for offense…blegh.

Anvil Rock has come out hungry for blood this week. No Ebay or BP on the map so a fresh new fight to sink our teeth into.

Point of reference for me, over the past 2 weeks there were times when I would be the only commander on all 4 maps. Not the case this week, lots of guilds and commanders are on each map keeping things fun for everyone.

oh, we win during our prime time, typically 2pm-11pm cst. just any ground we make up on the score is lost when we sleep or work. Which is fine , its all about coverage.

oh and if they ran in zergs of 40 i could handle that. but on reset night it one huge blob, 60+ . just caused slide show lag when we met in the open field, even in borderlands.

As for me poking fun @ Ebay, its just that, poking fun.

The Glicko-2 math isn’t that hard, it’s just tedious. But I see a lot of people still don’t understand how it works. So, here’s the story with EB and AR’s ratings:

At the beginning of the match, EB had a rating of 1550.0354 and a deviation of 182.2718, and AR had a rating of 1287.0150 and a deviation of 178.1011. When you convert these numbers to the Glicko-2 rating scale you get:
EB mu=0.2880 phi=1.0492
AR mu=-1.2260 phi=1.0252
(mu = (rating – 1500) / 173.7178, phi = (deviation) / 173.7178)

The next step is to calculate the value of the Glicko-2 g function for EB and AR:
EB g=0.8656
AR g=0.8706
(g = 1 / sqrt( 1 + 3 * phi^2 / (pi^2) ) )

Then, you calculate the value of the Glicko-2 E function for EB versus AR, and AR versus EB (unlike g which depends on one server only, E must be calculated for each pair of servers, and in both directions — A versus B, and B versus A):
EBvsAR E=0.7889
ARvsEB E=0.2124
(E = 1 / ( 1 + exp( g2 * (mu1 – mu2 ) ) ), where mu1=server rating, mu2=opponent rating, g2=opponent g value)

The final step is to figure out how big your own score has to be in order to beat the Glicko-2 expected score E (this part is based on the particular way ArenaNet has implemented Glicko-2, but is not actually part of Glicko-2 itself):
EB: m=2.2901
AR: m=0.4387
(m = ( 0.5 + arcsin( 2 * E – 1 ) / pi ) / ( 0.5 – arcsin( 2 * E – 1 ) / pi ) )

So, in order for EB to not lose any rating against AR, EB’s score needs to be 2.2901 times as big as AR’s score. And in order for AR to not lose any rating against EB, AR’s score needs to be 0.4387 times as big as BP’s score. Note that these values depend solely on the previous week’s ratings and deviations. The previous week’s scores are not involved.

Right now EB has 238,160 points compared to AR’s 134,980.
EB 238160 / 134980 = 1.7644
AR 134980 / 238160 = 0.5668

Since 1.7644 is lower than 2.2901, EB is losing rating points. and since 0.5668 is higher than 0.4387, AR is gaining rating points. That’s all there is to it.

It has nothing to do with last week’s scores. If this week’s match were to end with the exact same score as last week’s (EB=336728, AR=119306), the ratings wouldn’t stay the same, EB would gain points again and AR would lose points again:
EB 336728/119306 = 2.8224, which is higher than 2.2901
AR 119306/336728 = 0.3543, which is lower than 0.4387

See? The math isn’t hard, it’s just tiresome.

If all you want to know is whether your rating will go up or down, the math above is all you need).

nice little zergy skirmish up in Ebays Nw tower, took you guys a while to muster up courage to push out.. was much more fun when you did than when you guys hid behind the walls and ACs.

Fun fights in south ARBL, 3 massive zergs clashed over and over causing SM level lag.

I wanna say to my zerg crew. you guys won plenty of fights. if the half of you that arent’ in TS get in TS , we could rule the world.

For T5 it is getting grim.

The gap between Eby and SBI has increased this week. This means that Ebay needs a higher positive random roll this Friday than it did last Friday, any negative roll keeps it in T5.

Borlis Pass is stuck in T5 unless it gets massive negative/positive roll. Its rating is stuck @ 212 points from T4 and 136 points from T6.

Anvil Rock needs a negative roll, a positive roll keeps it in T5. DH has widened the gap from T6.

All in all, the chances are greater that this match up stays the same for next weeks reset and every week that it does, it gets harder to get out of T5.

Ebay can’t win its way out and AR can’t take enough weeks off to lose its way out.
