The thread is simply showing that in january what he said and hes telling players that no he didn’t say they would work on rewards in january when he did say it in the news article.
Its irrelevant whether or not its a promise or factual statement. He/GW2 gave their word and is now basically calling the players liars when we have proof in the News article he himself wrote.
I still have yet to call him a liar.
Your simply picking at the word ‘Promise’ Trying to troll I’m guessing. The main problem is he didn’t say it in some forums he said it in a GW2 News article.
P.S. In the real world you get fired or lose sales when you don’t deliver on your WORD. Its a vicious world.

Spectator mode that are bad/Broken leaderboards that no1 uses and custom arenas that cost $20 you can’t obtain through PvP. Its all broken

X: Growing by leaps and bounds- We still have no progression apart from glory ranks
Y: PvP rewards system- They just started working on it 10 months after announcement?
Z: Skill system?- Majority of matches have been uneven since the day the game started.

And the 3 things they did do are BROKEN!
Leaderboards: decay etc
Spectator mode: Terrible for Shoutcasters
Custom arenas" pvpers cant obtain unless going into PvE to farm gold or use money.
Colin Johanson said in the news article that they were going to add X, Y, Z not that they were going to try.

1) The game needs to get more interesting. As naughty as the twitch gameplay during backstab thief era was, it was fun to play and interesting to watch. There were tankeles that trolled the far point, there were backstab thieves that could counter that, there was diversity. People complained about everything being OP but it was interesting to play back then, there was much more strategy to taking down a great ele, much more depth into playing against a great guard (except for the block bug, that had to go…). Simply said the game was more enticing. Well, it’s not now. Too many dodges, too many cheese cutter builds, too much aoe, no coordination or mechanic play (also, I don’t want to go into “why dodging that has not changed from before is so OP all of a sudden”, but let me give you a hint: there is no clear “big shot” to dodge atm so it’s just spammed randomly?).
Silferas entire post was quality but this one in particular. The balance has gone downhill big time after the first couple months

Right not their isn’t much of a purpose in SPvP. Until they add rewards of something. I mean PAX + MLG offered a huge money reward which may have sparked some players. But the low amount of views and the final matches ending in 3-0 was very saddening.
0 competition in this game. Just a 1 side slaughter.

True its not really getting done. Thats why adding more temp devs would increase their work productivity.
Outsourcing may never happen but alot of other games, small and large have done this!
Ya it could be the $ suits $ restricting us from PvP getting anything done or hearing about their ideas.

3. We just see so much PvE content and we are jealous
4. Talk with US about all your ideas and stop giving dates if you don’t want to be held by them.
5. And I use the word players when Im using someone else points and most certainly use the word I when I want something.

the Problem is it was promised january to be released start of the second part of this year. and now u talk about basics at the end of the year or next january.

Sorry Colin, but at this point, no matter how hard you guys try to delude us with such “empty” news, it’s just wont work anymore.
Basically, since one of the very first State of the Game episodes a whole year ago, we have heard Every. Single. One of your “coming soon” changes.Nothing has changed. You are yet to make PvP more rewarding and fun. You are still looking into new game types. You are yet to support the competitive scene(or whatever has left of it). Though, one thing have changed – A lot less people are listening to your communication and a lot more just quit..
If you go back and read the January state of the game, and July state of the game threads, you’ll find most of what you said above actually isn’t true. We have delivered on the things in those threads we said we would do. It’s totally reasonable to say you’d like us to do more, but I don’t think it’s fair to say we’re saying we’re going to do X and haven’t delivered on any of it. We’ve only recently made any promises about actively working on building game types, and everything we’ve said we were going to do back in January, we have already released.
As a reminder:
In January, we said we would be doing custom arenas, leader boards, and spectator mode. We did all of those things.
In July, we said we’re going to do a tournament at PAX, have separate solo and team queues for PvP, add ways to get you progressing towards legendaries in PvP, and updating the reward systems for PvP. In working on rewards, we decided we wanted to do something that’s very work intensive and much cooler for PvP players, so not all of it will be done this year.

Hey guys. I really like some the ideas in here. Some of you definitely got us talking about how to make things smoother.
I’ve got this thread bookmarked so I can come back to it.
One thing I would suggest you keep in mind is that some of our users don’t even lift, and will troll any system that can hurt others.
I did report that snide remark lol, anyways go ahead and bounce any ideas you guys came up with here and we will continue the colab we got going.
Why wont they add a ready button. Im guess the code is 2 hard for their system, or they dont have enough money, which is it?

edit, nobody wants to play a 4v5 to try and hit a certain amount of points.
Pretty sure the devs would agree as well. It would be difficult to explain to new players why they are playing a 4v5 and reach a certain amount of points. When is it fun for someone new to fight an uneven match?

Remove glory. hotfix it OR glory<gold require 1 laurel per 10k glory converted. So the people with 10billion glory dont destroy the gem/gold system

What if instead of trying to stop the 4v5’s we give the other team a chance to have one of their players back out and whoever decides to leave the match (only one can leave obviously) will get some kind of reward, making it a fair 4v4. If no one wants to leave, the other team with 4 should get a bonus if they can make it to a set amount of points before the end of the game. Just a random idea I had while sitting at the beach.

I think it’s totally reasonable to say you’d like to see progress faster, and no shocker so would we! We all play PvP all the time too, and want everything done as quickly as possible, folks are working very long hours to try and accomplish just that.

This is where it gets confusing.
Colin (if I may call him that) did promise at the very beginning of the news article they were “in the first half of the New Year.”
But under Hey, What About the PvP!? that the promises were meant “over the course of 2013”
- Growing? skipping this
- Rewards? Compete every day for PVP daily achievement for laurels?
- adding system? MMR never happened correctly.
Colin later in the quote talked about in July they promises PAX, SoloQ, Legendaries, Reward system again?
Now I wont go on saying;
PAX+MLG both ended in a very fast unfair/not very competitive 3-0
SoloQ! Glaring unfair MMR/not very competitive (which is being worked on)
Legendaries! Ok lets see this.

So what would you like to see?
A “ready” button that appears before the match is created, and if someone doesn’t hit it within some time-window the match is aborted and both teams are returned to the queue? Perhaps the non-responding players kick out of the team, or kicked out of the entire queue?
One way would be to check your heartbeat every so often with a “are you still here” button, but that would be kind of annoying. It also doesn’t address the players who leave because they don’t like the team they are paired with.
We could just ramp up the dishonor system.
I know the team has their own thoughts on this, but I’d really like to see if someone here can come up with something awesome.

A public test realm is something on our radar, and many of us would like to see it, but it’s far beyond the scope of the SPvP team.
So far, I really like you. I don’t know that I’ve seen you post on here before today, but your responses are a welcomed addition.

Anet this is the best thread I have found with the most Constructive feedback in the most recent pages on forums. Take some of these ideas and help SoloQ evolve!
This is perfect I would prefer not losing MMR when I lose a 4v5, Also I dont want to gain MMR when winning a 4v5 unless Im on the team with 4
Please be more constructive so Anet takes the 4v5 issue more seriously.
