Reasons against PTR: 2 of Anets Devs testers would be out of a job.
+Most of the feedback they already thought of, atleast a good majority of the time devs respond with ya we thought of that are are doing it.
& it doesn’t seem they want faster/quicker balancing. We get 2 months of fun leading up to pax then a month after be it oct 1st or 15th we will get another crazy patch. Wonder if it can get worse?
Bugs? They release things with known bugs be it at launch or new features. They have to, so us on PTR will have such a small impact on bugs if any.
Lots of reasons for not having a PTR within the 1st year of launch. Funny thats the 1st thing Id be working on, would have saved them so much time.
I mean letting players help solve problems? Nah
happens every time, it wont get a fix. If they tried to fix it something else would probably break like endurance bars or map lag etc.

PvP population is growing at an alarming rate as stated by the devs. I mean after pax it had to have double from the huge amount of success the ranger zoo brought.
ya we need more threads about this because nothing is being said last we heard they were happy with the dishonor system.
I mean I lose and lose and never win but just keep getting that better rating. Why is this fun when 9 people know whos gonna win in a 4v5.

I wait 15 mins sometimes and get 8-9 of the same people from the last game, pretty sure its just the game being bad.
I think phantasms and clones when out should change their original skill like necro pets.
Then you could increase the skill cap even more. Youd get to choose when they use their special then u could see which are active.
These are some nice ideas. Poisons should create hallucinations and clones of people should start wandering around.
110 bleed ticks is weak come on, 250+ sounds about right YOUR BLEEDING FOR CHRIST SAKE.
Im pretty sure its just a couple of dice rolled at the end of the game. You can win 12 games and be top 3 on LBs easy.
or you can lose a game and get a better rank somehow. You can win 3 games then lose against a team made up of the top 25 and still not go up ranking etc its pretty bad all in all.
They could have just sent in a dev to WoW and copied their LB system and we would have been much happier.
1. I like invulnerable effect/skills for condis its funny. Normal dmg you can; evade, dodge, invul, move etc but condi dmg you can cleanse if you have it. I like the condi invul
Buffing vitality would BREAK alot of things like protection, necros DS, & countless more.
Your only chance would be making vitality have like a 2nd effect for every 100 vit subtract either 1 or maybe a .25% condi damage or atleast add condi dmg reduction to the trait lines is prolly your best option.
Anymore heal scaling and I quit lol jk.
AI clutter needs to be dealt with but just making pets smaller IDK about that :/
Phantasm dmg reduction would just make alot of people no longer worry about them and continue focusing the player.

“Countless more” is pretty vague/exagerated. The buff suggested would just be to bonus vitality and is not that big, for a zerker wearing build without vitality runes it’d be less than 1k additional health. The scaling of DS to health can be adjusted to accommodate such a change, although it probably wouldn’t affect necros as most will still run toughness/crit/condi amulet as that stat combination is one of the strongest. If a necro goes carrion sure he’ll have a big health pool but very low armor, one autoattack by a thief/warrior and that extra health is gone. It’s a small buff that would help but was intentionally thought of as being mild.
Only time you would focus the phantasms is if the mesmer is LOS hiding while they’re up, there should be risk involved in pushing a point and that build prior to the condi meta was broken for pushign far point for that reason. In any other situation you would be focusing the mesmer unless you’re bad. The damage would be the same in the first attack and I suggested reducing their CD (prob cut it in half) to compensate for the subsequent dmg drop/expiration, this would actually be a buff to the build in team fights where phantasms often get destroyed by AOE after 1 attack making the phantasm mesmer useless until the CD is up again.
Well buffing vitality just because condi dmg is over the top just breaks everything else when a 2nd effect to vitality or condi reduction in the trait lines is much more reasonable.
I can keep protection up about 50% of the time on necro w/o forge runes or protection increase. So that 1k hp is pretty strong when life force % is already good. So buffing vitality and balance DS some more doesn’t seem very dev friendly when we are waiting months for other things. What about bunkers all getting more HP we already have some fights that are infinite. I just don’t see increasing vitality your best option. Because PvE will want that buff as well since.
Im not bad. Im not just talking about focusing the phantasms. Im talking about dodging and avoiding them etc. Its not a good learning curve or idea for something you can’t really tell if your gonna get hit for fully dmg or not. And like you said once phantasms die from aoe 1shots you want a 50% cd reduction. Your just making them 50% stronger if they were only getting 1 shot off in the 1st place.
And nerfing dodge all around just because thief/rangers have a problem idk seems like a bad idea as well. I only have 2 dodges and use mine pretty well. I dont need 50% reduction on regen :/ + thats just a whole overhaul of everything that I doubt would ever happen. It effects alot of damaging traits and is just a mountain of work.

Torment from necro is basically 6 stacks of bleed if you move.
It immobilizes you to teach the enemy it does less damage and maybe you shouldn’t move.
Obviously if your in a team fight you still need to move.
But if you cant cleanse the 3 stacks of torment or however many you acquired you need to think of a new way to counter it.
Your first option is to blow a CD either a block or invu and sit there. Prolly the worst choice.
2nd you can stealth, through skill or combo field and not move.
3rd teleport to higher ground and do ranged damage from a good positon where not moving isnt so bad.

Its nice to have a mechanic that gives new ways to counter something but I agree it could be better somehow.
Maybe every 5, 10, and 15 yard yards it does a LARGE tick. So you simply are limited in how much movement and can still atleast use 1 dodge.
MY thoughts anyways,

torment- punishment for moving aren’t bad, Id like for confusion to be buffed or given something new to it that prevented the crazy spam.

We don’t need responses we need direction. You have this great utility at your feet “us talking about every little detail/balance issue” in which we out number you 100-1 and alot of us have more time to play the game then the devs.
So use it. Direct us and this wouldnt happen.
edit: Devs make it easier on yourselves and try to make some topics with polls http://strawpoll.me/ instead of us having 100 necromancer QQ threads. We outnumber you 100-1 and your making a game for us right? and I know alot of us keep asking you to listen to the top 1% focusing on the meta game trying to make it esports and this might be the right idea…. but the other 99% are having to deal with that fallout. Maybe they should have a feather of a weight in the decision and cast a vote; a,b,c what the general population is having the most difficult with.
So use your population, dont just let us create these crazy ideas of we need a whole new energy system because the games to spammy.

Back to my idea
that GW2 really doesn’t have a pvp team. The only tags I have seen here are Pvp Community Coordinator and I guess Game design lead so 1.5 total I’ll guess.
How can
Pvp continue with 1.5 “a body and a torso?” A dev pvp team needs to consist of actually playing the game and directing the Spvp forums not just reading it and letting every1/myself included going off on tangents like this. Its the only way to balance….
This has nothing to do with jonpeters just a great quote from a dev which any of them prolly would have said.
In the last 8 months we have seen Leaderboards, Matchmaking, Custom Arenas, Spectator mode, Solo Arena, and permanent finishers added to just to PvP.
Leaderboards
So what we got were Leaderboards with decay I’ve yet to see and anyone can get 12-0 and take the number 1 spot.
Matchmaking
Hidden ranking system? Groups higher MMR players into a team and matches them up against much lower MMR players.
Custom Arenas
$20 bucks Ill never afford wish I could trade all this glory for 1 maybe? What will I do with it once I purchase 1? IDK play conquest some more :/ or make a lovely skyhammer map.
Spectator mode pics
What am I gonna use this for. Oh ya JonSharp uses it to shout “here comes the petting zoo” Or you can scream about all the codis “Oh look 25stacks of bleed hes dead”
And these great camera angles are very well placed :/ you cant; zoom, free cam, draw on the screen (like map), its basically missing alot of functionality. Wondering how much work adding cam spots takes?

Do these mean anything? anyone can get rank 50 in a day form Skyhammer fall farming. So rank finishers don’t mean anything. buy2win players get the cool finishers and make my fps drop on my macpro so its basically they get another free kill because the whomp makes me lag out. ADD them in chest pls maybe people will open them.
So Its been a year and we get 6 unique features which I count all of these as broken and should have not been missing from launch 365 days ago……
Which means we have no actual PVP team just the Pve team switches over and gives us these 6 unique features every other month but we should be grateful for. When Pve gets 2 week releases.
So we get conquest the 1st year, maybe in 6 months we will get deathmatch but it wasnt in any of there looking forward Pvp blog posts so maybe more? Then we will be left with a broken DM system for the next 18 months.
I do have to say I’m glad the devs are happy about the rise of the pvp population which they keep telling us is growing very fast but cant say by how much o.O That 17k SoloQ is 90% of my trial acts
