Wait…we’re not wanting to see breasts jiggle? What’s the world coming to….
Optionalizing right-click select and adding a hotkey to open/close the minimap entirely would solve most of the problems people have with this sort of thing. The first is, IMO, one of the most annoying UI concepts in this game. I can left click just fine. I want my right mouse button reserved for camera rotation AND NOTHING ELSE. An option doesn’t infringe on anyone else’s desire to use rt-click to skip a few clicks here and there (vendors, NPCs, etc.). Options are good. Forcing is bad.
So what’s the purpose of them? They took up coding time and, at least in some cases, art time. No one uses them unless they didn’t understand how inferior they were, or they decided to toss away skill points on a whim. I.e. they are essentially a waste of space and time, both of which would have been better used on other things. Flavor is all good and well, but only if that flavor is of actual interest to a fair proportion of players.
The OP said he’d like to see them be on par with other skills. On par simply means roughly equivalent. If that were the case, all these flavor-y racial skills would see far more use and thus not be a waste of time and space. IMO the dev team should be making things that many players might be interested in using, not just a handful. Done right, that flavor will be seen all over the place, which should be the point of racials. Now? Yeah.
Perhaps it was impossible because he was repeatedly reselecting nearest. Otherwise, targeting would/should (assuming it wasn’t broken) remain on the target you already have until it’s dead/gone or manually changed.
Target nearest should target the nearest hostile in your field of view. It’s not that complicated, yet at this point in time it’s definitely not working—at least consistently—as it should.
It’s been mentioned several times in several threads. I’ve long thought right-click select is one of the most pointless—and obnoxious—functions in this game. The only purpose I see for this is to turn what amounts to double-left-clicks into single clicks for certain things. This may be convenient in some cases, but it’s functionally redundant, and at the very least, there should be an option to turn it off given the number of complaints that have already been posted about it.
I agree that rare mats should probably be part and parcel of a collections tab, but I think this is a subtle means of nudging the purchase of bank tabs. We’ve already been given a lot of free space, so I’m not being cynical. However, I’d rather have the option of buying a collections tab for such things rather than a bank tab, if only for convenience and satisfying OCD.
