No. A lot of the lore is sandboxed (for lack of a better term) in the game. You have to stop and read books, and talk to NPCs. You have to go off the beaten track to find out different pieces of information.

Charr should have been the main enemy. Undead are boring and repetitive.

What really burned the Charr was they were outfought, simple as that.
Outfought with the power of beings calling themselves gods. Without that direct power the Humans are a rather weak and pathetic race, as 250 years has shown.
The fact Humans had to use power given to them by beings calling themselves gods pissed the Charr off, not that they were outfought. Hence why some of the Charr looked towards their own false gods. Once the playing field was even the Flame Legion caused the Searing and again taught the Human’s how weak they really are.
The act of the Searing itself was not a regrettable act for the Charr, nor should it be. It was a magical retaliation for a magical war waged against them. Fighting fire with fire.
Letting the Flame Legion and false gods control them, now that is a regrettable choice.

Just want to point out Malediktus doesn’t understand how scaling works.
Exactly my prior point on people who want only 80s.

Talk about trying way too hard.

Thankfully, never.

next event is called Wintersday in Tyria, and it’s a Christmas Themed holiday
That is the next event for GW1, and it’s possibly the next event in GW2.
However we know we’re getting a mini event in November, and it very possibly could be a harvest festival of some sort. GW1 only had Human-centric holidays, so they might fit in a few other the other race’s holidays here and there.
http://i.imgur.com/Gt6Za.jpg
I’m curious, does Tyria magically have the same holidays at the same time the country known as the United States does?
Since the company that developed the game is located in the U.S., very possibly.
Though doubtful it would be called Thanksgiving. Maybe a Sylvari festival of goodwill for all races.
http://i.imgur.com/Gt6Za.jpg
I find it hysterical people call it “elitism”, because it’s really the exact opposite of being elite. “80s only” is a perfect indicator that they are a horrible player, along with not understanding how scaling actually works.
If people wanted to be elitist about it they should ask for people with 2k+ achievement points only. That’s stupid as well, but it’s more in line with what they’re trying to accomplish.
http://i.imgur.com/Gt6Za.jpg
^ the charr celebrated a holiday about a human king.
Hurting a Human king. That’s the difference.
Make Wintersday about smacking around the avatars of the Humans gods and that’s perfectly fine to me.
Also, let’s hope there are more than just rehashes of GW1 holidays. Those are all human-centric. Let’s see some holidays based around the Asura coming the surface, or the day the first Sylvaris were un-podded.
http://i.imgur.com/Gt6Za.jpg
The difference is one of the playable races was directly pissed on by the Human gods for their favored people. I don’t think Charr would want anything to do with a holiday that still has connection to them. “Still” being the key work in that sentence. Keep the holiday, but the deity aspect will hopefully be removed.

Just to go further on what BrunoBRS said, the Charr has a firm grasp of machinery. It’s not surprising the engineer class borrows the style of that culture.
An Asrura engineer (game class-wise) would want something reliable rather and made with Charr iron than something Asura-made. Asura tech is always breaking down. Watch some of the events in Orr, half the time the Asura can’t get their fancy crap working long enough for the escort to progress fully before they’re repairing something.
http://i.imgur.com/Gt6Za.jpg
They do not exist in the game world, sadly.
Many of the loading screens display places that don’t actually exist, since they are early concept art.
For example, take a look at Hoelbrak. Someone on Reddit pointed out some very strange buildings in the back covered by ice, and what looks like a construction crane.

Alright, so you want to ignore the majority of the lore surrounding the Charr and say they want to blinding worship any powerful being.
In that case you have a very boring enemy.
http://i.imgur.com/Gt6Za.jpg
I really hope they do something more general. The Human god’s are completely uninteresting to any of the other races, other than the Charr that want to kill them or the Sylvari that are curious about them.
They’re uber powerful beings that brought Humans to the world, not creation deities that need to be part of all race’s lore.

So make the Charr the enemy of everyone? Not the best of ideas.
Have to ignore game play elements for this and stick to strictly lore-wise features. If the Charr were the enemies then the Humans would be wiped out completely, or a small settlement would be left protected by the Norn. Without their Gods, or another supernatural being, the Humans are like weak rabbits in the face of the Charr army.
The Norn would be a huge hurdle for the Charr to overcome, however. If the Norn could actually play nice with each other long enough to mount a defense the Charr would have issues with Norn land.
The Asura hate each other, and if a life or death struggle happened I could easily see enough Asura working for the Charr to save their own hides. It’s not like they’re overly loyal to each other.
The Charr are no longer held back by an insane Legion leading them. A fully-offensive Charr race would be a silly enemy because they’re way too powerful in the lore. Completely loyal, willing to die, technological superiority, trained from cub-hood to be a solider, both genders are warriors, everyone follows orders without question. They’re the complete package.

This thread is a perfect example on why we can’t have fun things.
Not everyone is supposed to be able to do the Clock Tower. Personally it took me a very long time to complete it, but the sense of achievement at the end was remarkable.
If you’re not able to do it, that’s fine, go do something else.
http://i.imgur.com/Gt6Za.jpg
Nope. It’s town clothing.
http://i.imgur.com/Gt6Za.jpg
Male humans have clipping issues with their hair and faces.
But, yes, Charr are the worst overall. Wish they didn’t even add a beast race if they weren’t going to properly support armor for it.
I never, ever learn. Trolls had horrible clipping in WoW. Now Charr have the same issues. From tusks to horns.

If you mean the nodes themselves, they certainly will.
If you mean the item itself in your bags/bank, no.
http://i.imgur.com/Gt6Za.jpg
Also, seems kinda odd that some greatsword/hammer exotics looks more impressive than legendaries of other weapon types.
http://i.imgur.com/Gt6Za.jpg
Not much “mini” about a game that lasts 24/7.
Mini in the sense that it’s a fun distraction, also in the sense that it’s ‘PvP lite’ in regards to skill.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s fun as hell. But people take it way too seriously.
http://i.imgur.com/Gt6Za.jpg
If you want to PvP play sPvP.
WvW is a fun minigame. Asking for balance and progression for a minigame is rather silly. That would be like asking for Keg Brawl progression.

So defending an orb you did not earn is bad? Well you guys didn’t earn 2 of the 3 orbs you have, you took advantage of the game mechanics allowing you to take orbs against no competition and have now benefited from the stat boost for 2 days. Orb hacking is hardly new on any server, I have yet to come across any team that has given an orb back after it was hacked.
http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/118pkl/thank_you_yaks_bend_faith_in_the_gw2_community/
That’s a server led by classy commanders.
http://i.imgur.com/Gt6Za.jpg
It’s one thing to not have any control of the actions of one person hacking, it’s another thing all together to defend the stolen orb. Real classy.
http://i.imgur.com/Gt6Za.jpg
If this tactic took even the least amount of skill to pull off I’d agree with you, OP. As demonstrated in that video it’s as simple as hitting one button and running around. That’s it.
Just remove the ability to stop a cap if in stealth and this issue is fixed.

Hey ArenaNet, I’m getting to the point where I need to decide which legendary to craft after finishing with the generic mats for all of them. At the moment it seems like the only epic ones are the greatswords, staff, and hammer. Since I’m not a fan of the Warriors/Guardians, and I have no interest in rainbows, I was wondering if the particle effects are finished for all the legendaries yet?
It seems like some are missing that extra pizzazz that screams ‘legendary’. So before I put further work into this, please just let me know if you’re finished with the others, or if there are further effects planned.
http://i.imgur.com/Gt6Za.jpg
Hm, 533 seems like a lot of hours. Ah well.
http://i.imgur.com/Gt6Za.jpg
admittedly i do get bothered about this sometimes, it should be restricted to party members
its immensely frustrating when i drop a fiery greatsword and then the random who picks it up jumps in the water straight after
Someone else who doesn’t understand the functionality of those spells. It’s for anyone to pick up and use as they see fit. You already get the benefit of the conjured weapon, the one of the ground is just a bonus to anyone who grabs it.
http://i.imgur.com/Gt6Za.jpg
The purpose of the second one dropping is so someone else can use it. If someone picks up your conjured weapon then it’s functioning exactly how ANet meant it to.
There is nothing to be fixed, expect for your insane selflessness.
http://i.imgur.com/Gt6Za.jpg
There is the video at the correct time to see it. Very interesting, it certainly looks dragon-esque. All the dragons have their own theme in style, maybe that’s the first glimpse of Bubble’s theme. A champion, perhaps.
EDIT: Nevermind, pasting URLs from YouTube into the forum strips the times tamp from it.

I’m beyond annoyed with being stuck at 9.99% because of that frog.
I got there seconds too late for the reset kill, and of course the guy who killed it first began taunting everyone.

This typically happens when I leave the client open after going AFK, getting disconnected, and re-connecting from the character select screen. Try exiting out of your game entirely.

Sorry, your crutches are gone and they’re not coming back.
http://i.imgur.com/Gt6Za.jpg
If ANet wants to put some form of PvP in the monthly then put in sPvP. Or even Kegbrawl, since even that takes more skill and less frustration than all-out zerg PvP. WvW is the lowest form is PvP available, and I’m sick of having to stomach it for Coins.
http://i.imgur.com/Gt6Za.jpg
So, basically, you want to kill the market for those who enjoy that aspect of the game?
http://i.imgur.com/Gt6Za.jpg
Where in his post did he say he wanted a gear treadmill? The dude is bored and he’s asking for suggestions. Way to not be helpful.
Right here:
“Bottom line: the game seriously lacks any form of incentives for you to keep playing once you hit the cap. "
That’s asking for a gear treadmill, even if it’s not direct.
http://i.imgur.com/Gt6Za.jpg
300+ hours played so far. Still have plenty to do.
I seriously don’t understand the mindset of people who need a gear treadmill just to play an MMO. Rather sad, honestly.

Engineers have a high skill-ceiling. They can either be the weakest class in the game, or one of the most powerful.
This is unlike Thief, Guardian, and Warrior where the skill ceiling is very low and will preform well even when not utilized fully.
http://i.imgur.com/Gt6Za.jpg
Downed state is fine. It adds tactics to the game beyond just ‘kill everyone’.
http://i.imgur.com/Gt6Za.jpg
Thanks for the confirmation.
http://i.imgur.com/Gt6Za.jpg
Can anyone who has the Heavy or Medium Flame Legion leggings confirm that they don’t display your tail as a molten flame?
Only the Light armor has that on the preview, and I was wondering if that’s the case or not.

[Devquote included] Dungeon Gear Token Costs (Aka, whatever happened to anti-grind philosophy?)
Posted by: Lande.5782
The token system is fine. If you want cosmetic gear, then working toward sit okay.
What’s not okay is the lack of rewards for each dungeon. Come on, throw us a bone here. Reshima has a great list of things that can be added, maybe in a random loot chest at the end.
http://i.imgur.com/Gt6Za.jpg
I don’t get posts like this. Engineer is easily the most powerful profession in PvE if played correctly, and very powerful in sPvP. At level 80 I can take many, many mobs and stay up while watching all their bars go steadily down.
The other so-called “powerful” classes like Warrior only seem that because a monkey could play them. Put on signets and slam on the 1-5 keys. Anyone can do that.
http://i.imgur.com/Gt6Za.jpg
Just want to say that Orr was fun in the first week of the game’s release. There was barely anyone there, so just the few of us 80s were being challenged hard by the content (and the bugs…). It was an awesome zone.
Now, it’s a zerg-fest. I guess that goes to prove open-world content can never really be challenging due to numbers.
http://i.imgur.com/Gt6Za.jpg
Charr ate them all. True story.
Okay, okay! I admit it! My people ate them all! We kept saying one more couldn’t hurt, and then they were gone! We’re sorry!
http://i.imgur.com/Gt6Za.jpg
As an Engineer, who likely has the best tools for quick AOE, this really isn’t fair for other classes. My flamethrower can tag entire groups with one blast and a quick strafe, most other classes don’t have that kind of mobility with their AOEs.
The events really need to be looked into.
http://i.imgur.com/Gt6Za.jpg
Love the running animation.
For anyone having trouble with jumping puzzles, bind ‘draw weapon’ (or whatever it’s called) to a key, it will let you get up on two legs to do the jumps if needed.

It’s more likely that the Pale Tree is a lieutenant of the sixth Elder Dragon.
A lieutenant that got swayed away from an evil nature when it was still a sapling, under the guidance of the tablet’s teachings. This would also explain the Nightmare, and how it’s possibly the true ‘dream’ of the Sylvari. The Nightmare Court are trying to reinstate the true nature of the Pale Tree, even if they don’t completely understand it yet.

Good thing they are optional. Just like zone completion.
Please get rid of zone completion for zone completion, please.
