They create a no friendly target system… this skill (like mercifull intervention) need a specific target otherwise is useless.

I can understand that Anet don’t want direct healing, the problem is that some skills need a target (or a directions).

The problem is that they create some skills like Mercifull Intervention that NEED a target… but this is a “no friendly target” game… so at the end the skill is useless. :\
Remove it, change it, create a target skill… i don’t care… but not like this.

Orb of light disappear on the ground and some times doesn’t detonate…
5° Shield doesn’t push back foes (is a bug).
Healing Breeze use enemy target (!!) and all the team mates dodge it so is impossible aim. If you are aiming in the right place, your character turn his head on the side (enemy taget) and use the cone in the wrong place…
Line of warding can be jumped and dodge…
Staff is the worst weapon ever…

Even if i can support in the way i would like, this bugs/wrong mechanic still be there.
I’m not crying because i wanna be healer… i’m crying because the 80% of my supportive skills doesn’t works and Anet seems don’t care about it.
That’s why i suppose that they hate support.
When i use it, i run to the friend i want to heal, i stick on him, and than i use the skill.
90% of time it works.
4% no healing effect. (??)
6% teleport back to another stupid ally, behind me, who came closest to me for no reason.
I’m talking as a supportive player.
Guardian got a lot of USELLESS skills and traits.
Some skills like Orb of Light, Merciful Intervention andHealing Breeze that NEED friendly target cause the 50% of time you waste it.
5° shield is bugged and doesn’t push back foes… the Staff simply sucks… no traits for boost the shield skills… all the healings are too small… 300hp hot and 2000 heal every 60 sec (it’s NOTHING compair to the amount of damage)…
How can you support in this way?
Anet hate healers and supporters and create a full DPS game…
And than they put a supportive class in it…

GW2 is a DPS game.
If you want be tank, you can do it a little bit…
But if you want to be healer, foget it.
Merciful Intervention should be the Judge’s Intervention specular skill.
Judge’s Intervention is a target skill… and it works.

The first things that i can’t understand is “Why a scepter and not a bow??”.
I’m a havy armor fighter, bow looks better than the septer… i fell like i’m playng tennis with that wepon! lol
I play only supportive, so i don’t know if the others weapon got some problems…

In my opinion the 5° shield should be improved and fixed…
Some times foe are not push back. It can’t be possible because when it happen you waste the skill.
Than, if you are under the 5° skill protection, you should gain regen.
At the end, crete a traits that increase shield skills duration.
The greatest problem is the staff. Maybe is the worst weapon in game.
1° wave – copy the mace mechanics. 3 hit and heal ally in front of you.
2° orb – fix the ground disappearing bug. Make it follow the ally direction (like the foe) or change it in a placeble area skill (like the swiftness one).
3° swift – change damage with regen
4° empower – cast it in movment. 90y and not 60.
5° warding – Fix the bug (people can jump and dodge it). If an ally cross the wall, clean all the conditions.
No need to swap.
Shield means “party protection”.
If you change the skill, you stop to protect your party cause 5° focus protect just you.
In my opinion, the first things to do should be fix the shield bug.
Some times the foe (npc and players) are not pushed back… and this is bad. :\
The second things to do is add a regen uder the shield 5° skill protection.
The third things is create a traits that increase the skills duration.
Thinking better on it… the problem is that the 5° shiels skill is low performance and is bugged.
Some times enemy are not push back… and this is bad.
The second problem is that the duration is very short. Thery should create a trait that make it longer.
And third… if some one in under the protection of this skill, he should gain regen.
If behind me there is a tree, or a rock or somethingelse, the camera stuck to it and i can see just it! T_T

I saw Anet comment just for close some topic. I’m strongly convinced that Anet doesn’t care about all our suggestion and the forum is just a trick for keep us quiet… but this is just my opinion, and it doesn’t means i am right (honestly i hopethis is wrong). :P

Heal 1000hp every 60seconds meanwhile a player take around 3000damage every second…
So naif… this is a only dps game.
Pres “tab” → Select the nearest foe → spam randomly all your damage skills like a brainless = GW2
Same things to me with the Dwayna… 12/6!
I have got just 4 rune of Dwayna on my equip… but instead of 4/6 the game says 10/6… so if I full my set with those rune, it will became 12/6.
Some one knows if with this 12/6 bug I will benefit twice of the runes bonus?
If so… i’ll full my equip with that…
If not, i can just let 1 rune on it cause it count like a 7/6!

You right, Line of Warding change isn’t that big of a deal.
The problem is that is not a PRIORITY.
Guardian got a lot of problems more important… starting with the orb of light Z-axis.
So, why they did it?
Why Anet doesn’t focus on more usefull fix?
In this way it seems to me they prefere keep going to penalize support players than create a game that reach all player’s needs. :S

The change (it’s not a real nerf) was done to make Line of Warding the intended length. You could argue that this is a wrong direction to take, true.
I personally feel that the cooldown could be lower, since it’s slightly less useful than Ring of Warding.The latter part of your post doesn’t make any sense at this point. You claim to see an evolution, while this is only our first data-point. Unless support-abilities get weaker in the future can you make such bold claims.

I can’t see the constructivity in a game you’ve been waiting for a long time with a lot of expectations, and than you discover that penalize supporter player… obviously is my personal opinion.
Since I was 12y (baldur’s gate time) I played only supportive roles… and now i feel forced to be something I don’t want.

3 attack and the 3° one heal you and all the nerby ally.
Orb of light:
Fix it.
The orb disappear in the ground.
If you select a foe, the orb follow his direction. Why if you select a friendly target don’t??
It should do it.
Swiftness:
The amount of damage is useless… change it in regen.
Empower:
Cast in movement.
90y and not 60y.
Line of Warding:
Create a line in front of you that foes cannot cross (jump or dodge!).
NPC too !!! (nobody exept me noticed it?)
If an ally cross it, whe wall removes all the condition.

The original Anet idea was to hallow dps player to play even without tank and healer… but in the end they choose to kill the supportive game. :\

I’m getting boring to play GW2 cause since I was a kid (talking about baldur’s gate!!) I played supports… and now i’m forced to play dps…. and i don’t want it.
I’m not talking to revolutionize all the game… just to make 1 weapon full supportive and make this game fun for players like me who wanto to be healer and not only DPS.

if you are human, dwayna heal.
Since when I was a 14y old I played supportive/healer roles.
I did it in Baldur’s Gate (cleric with greater heal!), I did it in Neverwinter nights, I did it in DaO, Wow, WAR, AoC, Dragon Age and maybe all the most important gdr and mmorpg…
I hate play dps… and honestly I sucks in it cause I don’t care to skill it.
I like play for help the others.
Maybe cause I’m a good guy and I want to be helpfull and constructive, and not distructive

GW2 supportive mechanic is disappointing me…
I can understand that all the characters should do all the roles, and I agree with “remove the holy trinity” idea. In this way all the people can do dungeon whitout tank and healer, and they can enjoy all the aspects of the game…
But… supportive player are penalized too much.
Supportive skills and heals sucks compared to the dps one!
Not holy trinity… GW2 is a DPS game, just one role. -.-’

People like me, who like 100% support build, and hate dps are useless in this game.
All the time in the dungeon is better go dps than support… you go faster, your performance is better… and this is boring.

The staff is the greatest example of that… all the guardians are complain for it (check in the guardian forum)!
Even if I use all the guardian’s skills (exept the Elite), I can’t full a friend’s life… there is no way to do that.
In a fight my help is useless.
Is betterkittenthe enemy than stay back and support.
PvE and PvP, no difference.
Calculating the amount of damage that a player suffers in a fight, all my healing skills are vain.
A stupid 300hp regen… Heal 1000hp…1 condition removed… 3 sec. shield… and INFINITE CD.
Dps got massive direct damage… 800dot for sec… 3/4/5 condition stuck… armor debuff… and a lot of skills pure damage that you can combine and swap in combat.
No balance between def and attack.
Let’s speak with the numbers…

If i build myself with all dps skills, using all of them I can deal 10 damage.
If i build myself with all supp skills, i should prevent (heal and shilds) 10 damage.
This is balance between attack and defence.
Not in GW2…
Full supportive build defence 3 instead of 10.
In a 5 party team, complessive attack power is 50.
Why a party should lost 10 attack for gain 3 def?
Is pointless…
I’m not suggesting to create an healer character… or to change all the game dynamics…
I’m suggesting to increase the supportive skills effects a little bit.
Just for not make me, and supportive players like me, completly useless.

In my opinion Staff should be FULL supportive, no damage…
If you want damage just go greatsword.
Staff is good for healer and supportive player. Not for “wanna be dps”.

5° skill should be the strongest one. See the shield, or the others weapon… all the weapon are like this, but not the staff… staff got low performance for a big CD.
Right now is 50% useless…
- Reduce CD.
- Allow me to cast the wall in movment. If i’m running away and I have to stop for use it, all the enamy catch me.
- If an ally cross it it remove condition.
Want to fight against the gold sellers?
well… sell your gold at a price less than them!
If you keep to sell the gold at that price, and a chinese farmer will give us the same things 3 times cheaper, i’m not surprised if some players prefere third-party gold sellers!

Some times they vanish, some times they burn stronger.
Can’t find any idea about it and nothing on the web… no skills connected, no traits… they are just there.

I know… in my opinion some spells should do it.
I’m not talking about a direct healing (like in GW) but simply target for make the righ cast direction. Like some offensive spells, you can target the enamy and then cast it and your enemy can dodge it.
Same things should be done for Orb. Friendly or enemy target should influence the direction.
If not… as I said, can be changed in an area target skill.
But in this way, as it is working right now, it suks… is useless and 1 times on 4 the cast dosn’t work.

The point is the same… staff shuold work better… and Orb of Light and Line of warding are usefull like a second an*s on the elbow.
Tecnically the staff is a supportive weapon, but it doesn’t works…
In my opinion they have to change a couple on skills on it…
Wave of warding (autoattak)
Orb of light (damage and heal)
Symbol of swiftness (buff speed)
Empower (good heal)
Line of warding (cc)
Wave of warding doesn’t support… you can combine it with the sigil of weather if you want, you got just the 30% chance to heal a small amount.
Orb of Light simply sucks. 1 times on 4 it disappear on the ground, doesn’t detonate (even if i make it explode on my self!) and miss direction (no matter if I’m aiming in the right place).
→ Make it a target spell (friendly target too) , or a target area effect (it detonate when arrive in the area that you selected)… but not a direction spell.
Symbol of swiftness sometimes is helpfull, some times no… you can combine it with the traits that allow all the symbols to heal, so you can cast it continuosly in the fight. But is pointless to use one traits just for it.
Usefull if you have to run away.
Empower is a good skill. A little bit slow… but it works.
This is the best staff skill in my opinion.
→ Be able to cast it in movement should be great… but maybe it is too much. :P
Line of warding is a good idea… the problem is that some times enemy cross it (jump and roll)… and it is pointless because it is the last weapon skill and should be one of the strongest one.
The second problem is that this skill has slow cast time and you have to stay still for cast it… so if you are running away and you want to block your enemy behind you, they can catch you when you stop…
In a fight there are not too much occasion for cast it, expecially in the fray.
Too mutch CD for a low performances skill.
→ Increase the performance (for exepample if a friendly target cross it, all the condition removed)… or reduce the CD… or make it castable when you move.
So… at the end, if you want tu support your party during a fight (not for run away), you use just Orb of light (and it doesn’t works), Empower and then you switch shield… :\
2 on 5… and sometimes just 1 cause Orb sucks…

I suppose that this skill should be rebuilt.
If i target an enemy, and i cast an offensive spell, my attack go directly to him… no ground problem, no miss direction (if he stay still in the position and not dodge), no miss effects… it just works.
Why this orb can’t do the same?
If I select a target (anemy or friend) the orb should go THERE just like an offensive spell. It should be a target spell (friendly target too) and not a direction spell… or a placebles area skill (you place in the battlefield the area effect, the orb fly there and tetonete when it arrive).
But with the current mechanical it simply sucks…
The most non sence things is that the orb some times doesn’t works even if i try to make it detonate istantly. In this way i waste 2 or 3 sec in a fight for nothing!
