Can you imagine how many in-game fashion opportunities we could have developed with that O_O

Artists are super cheap too! We could have like 4 artists working on an armor set per month!

I see all black lion ticket skins as hard core PVE skins, because you either have to go through some crazy event to get it, or farm keys ~.~

SABox skins are hardcore PVE skins too, no way you can get that through PVP!

Real money is PvRL. Also this is about ARMOR. Not weapons.

I’d say the cheapest (apart from spinal blades if you have blade shards or the fractal capacitor if you fractal) would be the quiver of a thousand arrows which uses vicious claws and you can select your stats on acquire.

After reading the news about the new exclusive PVP armors, I cannot stop myself from wishing for a similar PVE counterpart. As it is now, the only prestige armor set in game, will be available for the 10-20 people that happen to win elite tournaments….

While I agree that top PVP players should get a special reward for their effords, I strongly believe that there should be a correspondant set for the people that prefer PVE.

I wish Anet would introduce an equally prestegius armor set, that could be craftable through PVE rewards and activities. I wouldn’t even mind paying 100 pristine relics per piece.

Before people start complaining that everything in PVE is easy so nothing will ever be prestigious: we have been lacking any kind of hard to obtain armor set, so now is the time to give us one of those. I am sure plenty of people will enjoy working towards one of those.

Possibly because it’s only half an armor set and it’s basically a reskin with some ugly undyeable particle effects. However I didn’t ignore it. See my first post in this topic several pages of toxic conversation ago.

I gave it a try in PVE areas, and I find it very difficult to use. 4 out of 5 skills are AoE and I can’t get them out fast enough before I die. I’m wondering if it is a dungeon-only attunement or at the very least you must have a tank in order to use it. Is that a correct assessment?

Water attunement for staff is good when used situationally. The two water fields are great for blast heals and the frost ground is good for slowing mobs. But in general while using any weapon combo on ele, water is mainly used for support situations. Damage wise, fire on staff and lightning for dagger and scepter are your best bet for damage, while similar to water, earth has its situational uses for support and survivability.

They are a statless level 0 backpiece that lets you give a cosmetic back skin to low level characters.

I don’t understand why this keeps being thrown out here. You get ascended armor boxes as random rewards from pvp. And you can gather the materials to craft it in pvp as well. Or wvw. It is an armor set available in all game modes.

yeah, you know the rarity of those armor boxes from spvp? and from a box comes only one piece so, yeah, point is still valid. pve has more than enough features to it, pvp needs a ton of attention and the unique armor is a decent start.

I don’t think anyone is begrudging pvp having a unique only to them armor, but there is literally no good reason for pve and wvw not to have this same thing. Whether it’s rare or not, it’s still available. The pvp armor is only pvp (rightly so!) But there really ought to be an analog in wvw and pve. This should NOT be a pvp vs pve conversation. It should be a “let’s give everyone a little something to work on.” Conversation. A fractal (or some other high level pve content which Illudes me) armor set and a wvw armor set (I don’t wvw so I do not know what content is considered high skill or time consuming) would be a great solution. I don’t understand why this has turned into such a toxic conversation.

The reason is simple…PvP in gw2 is on life support, which is why anet is giving out a cash prize tourney and new shinies.. its easily the least popular mmode in this game (WvW, PvE being the others)… PvP NEEDS this kind of new rewards… PvE doesn’t… it has enough already, and 100% guaranteed they will continue to get more rewards down the road

Also, as many have stated, there is no prestigious content in PvE…It takes more skill to PvP and go against players that actual think compared to a group of brain dead zombies in PvE….You need prestigious content before you can give such prestigious rewards… which I think everyone would love to see in PvE

I have 2 accounts. One for EU and one for NA. my main is on NA but it is SUPER awesome to be able to run dungeons and such with EU folks occasionally. And it was totally worth it to me.

Anet has actually officially stated they are fine with the key farm and encourage it. I think they would probably be open to doing this for pvp, would be also cool if they did one for wvw as well!

Note: I don’t pvp or wvw but I really do believe in similar rewards for the game modes.

Succeeded in my goal of getting my prl up to 50. Also, have shpukders, helm, gloves, and boots of light ascended celestial (got 2 today) which makes it increasingly clear I should just be a support ele. ^.~

Also had a mighty lovely Coe run with dramen, kirin, striker, and one of kirin’s guildies (commandgasm LOL) and had my drunk kitten carried. Was fun. Would do again.

So with the heroic edition armor chest you receive the chosen skin (so the skins for each piece) AND you receive an armor set, level 0, that you can use on a character of that armor weight. As you level, you will get better gear. Stats don’t really matter until you are max level, however.

This is so weird. The last time I did a contest for a game key only like 5 people participated and the person who won didn’t even want it. Maybe I should do another…

Penguin listed the only “armor set” that is pve exclusive afaik. And it’s not a full set.

I would also love to see a fractal armor set, acquirable only in fractals (not as a pvp reward track!) And have it have obscene requirements so that it feels like a journey. I’d also like to see a similar one tied to wvw. But again… a FULL armor set. Not just gloves shoulders and boots.

Ascended gear boxes are gotten through pvp rewards so that doesn’t exactly count. But the wurm armor, while on the right track, is not exactly what I think we all have in mind when we think of exclusive prestige armor, because getting it is such awful RNG.

Hey folks. I’ll be able to do fractals with folks in the morning and would love some forumer company! (8 AM EST till… Saturday midnight I guess. (Whoa! 16 fractal hours?!)

I can do either region. I can do 1-29 on EU and 1-50 on NA. I would like to do at least 1 49 on NA, but the rest are totally up in the air.

Its an ascended item, and ascended items are intended for fractals. I see nothing wrong here.

GW2 use to have ascended rings only drop from fractals. The game SPOILED you by making ascended gear obtainable elsewhere. Be THANKFUL you can get ascended gear outside the fractals of the mist because they spoiled you, so stop being greedy and selfish.

Guess what? I make mostly all of the ascended backpieces because of the look of it and because it fits to one of my characters and not because it has some nice stats. And Anet should know that there are always players who don’t want to play all parts of the game and will never do it for the various reasons. If they want to make them unhappy with such decisions then so be it. But don’t do it too often or they will go elsewhere some day.

I basically ONLY run fractals and RP in game. Literally I don’t do anything else. As a result I can’t make the back pieces that require dragonite no matter how well they’d go for my ..m dwayna human? Granth human? Synergetics asura?

And I can’t make ascended armor or weapons for the same reason for the only content that actually requires it.

Anyone who is complaining about 5 measly fractals really… really needs to look at themselves and ask what it is they’ve ever had to work hard for in the first place.
