This. Rare armor, masterwork trinkets, with lvl 78 exotic weapons and then dungeons/karma armor bit by bit. I wouldn’t waste any time on exotic trinkets though, as it’s more time/money efficient to go straight for the ascended, especially if you’ve been diligently doing your dailies/monthlies as you should have.

If you do have those laurels saved and/or WvW badges and you are interested in FotM I agree entirely with waiting for the ascended bit. Most of my lvl 80 alts use exotic trinkets, however, since I only have 2 fractal runners. If you aren’t interested in fractals, ascended trinkets aren’t a necessity as all other endgame content can be done with exotics.

And here I thought I couldn’t hate JPs anymore haha.

^ Exactly. The backpack sets are expensive, but if your backpiece is a one of a kind thing it is definitely worth it, in some cases.

It’s really difficult to make girly heavy Asura, for me anyway. I used cultural t2 because i like how the figure isn’t as stalky as the males.

For reference, the female is mine the male is a friend’s. I dislike the helm.

I crafted mine, but I think the best thing to do is either WvW armor or dungeon armor, whichever you would rather do.
You probably would want to decide what stats you want before choosing a dungeon though, so you can choose the right dungeon to farm.

I loved that they put this scroll in the 5k achieve chest. I’d like to assume (and sure, its simply an assumption) that anyone with 5k achievement points or more has already gone through most of the low level maps on 2 or more characters. And sure, maybe its useless to those who already have 8 lvl 80s, but to those of us who didn’t, this made it so we could level a character to lvl 20 and skip a lot of stuff that we have already seen, that is meant to teach a new person the game. (Like those level 3 hearts you do to level in each zone).

Or on Asura, it looks like any other light set, really terrible looking lol.

I go back and forth on this. I want my little Asura to look more girly some days, and I flip through my armors (cult t3, TA, and the aetherblade) and despite it all I can still tell she’s a female, and that’s nice. But at the same time the way Asura are such a different race in terms of personality and I figure it totally would not make sense for them to have any sex appeal (does that word get filtered, I wonder?). I was glad that the Aetherblade helm is feminine-ish, and cultural t3 also seems female to me, except for a little Tom-boyish.

If you get one of the quaggan or charr backpack sets, they come with an account bound back strap that you can do this with.

I was so excited for this, I really wanted a red fervid censer, but it did end up disappointing me. But still, yay! I do still love it. Still, I’m not about to replace my fervid censer.

For my light armored Asura females (my necro and ele) I use TA armor. Its frilly and pretty.

This would be viable, except that then by transmuting it, I will miss out on the MF account consumables that you get. Also, that would be 6 transmutation crystals + the cost of another full exotic set of a stat I either have or do not need. This isn’t actually a question of “you bought it so you have enough gold to spend more” since I don’t have 30g to spend on another Aetherblade skin. Is it fair to punish players who bought these things prior to MF changes being hinted at?

I’m extremely concerned about the upcoming MF changes. Some people have been saying the stats of current Explorer’s gear will simply change and others have been saying that people will be able to salvage to get account consumables.
However, I have a considerable issue with the salvaging part.
I spent ~30 gold on the Aetherblade skin to apply to my MF gear, far before any hint of MF changes had cropped up in that blog post. If we are forced to salvage, I will lose this skin that I worked hard to get.

This post is mainly to call attention to this problem, as I hadn’t seen anyone address it prior to now. Aetherblade skins are expensive, but what if someone had bought cultural t3? Or some other expensive skin?

My suggestion is this: if the devs are planning a salvage method here, find some way to salvage these expensive skins intact? Or, revert my MF gear to its original skin and refund the Aetherblade skin?
I accept that none of these suggestions will likely be taken, but I hope that a dev does see this and notes that these changes could mean the loss of tons of gold to people who adore the cosmetics of the game and work hard to look good regardless of the gear’s purpose.

I’m looking to join a new guild that at least has some PvE and dungeon/fractal centric players. I’m looking to expand my horizons and play with some equally fun people. At the moment I have 3 level 80s (Main: Elementalist. Alts: Warrior, Guardian.) and have the dungeon master title.

I’m looking for a guild that could use me for more than just having an additional person in the guild (I’m not looking to just be a filler player). I would like to help teach as well as learn, as I am proficient at several dungeons but would still like to learn more about the ones I don’t frequent. Any server would be fine, but it would take me a little while to decide to hop servers, as the gem cost is through the roof and I would first like to see that the guild is a fit for me. Please note that I am not a WvWvW type, so in addition to not caring about the server’s WvW performance (sure, I’ll join a low-rank server!), I almost always will refuse to go in. Any guild that requires any amount of WvW time (apart from the occasional accompanying guildies with their WvW map completion) is entirely not a fit for me.

I play Monday-Friday 4:45AM(ish)- about 3:30PM(ish) PST. I’m looking for a guild to represent 99% of the time. My husband, a very inactive player, insists I represent his guild when we PvE together (this occurs for about 1 hour a month). I cannot be in a guild that does not allow me to do this.

I’m looking for a dungeon centric guild on Maguuma, or anywhere on a NA server to run dungeons with and have a fun social time.
I main an elementalist, using all weapons, and I also have a level 80 warrior and guardian. I run high level fractals daily (a 38 and a 28 on most days, occasionally 40s).
I need a guild that does not mind that 1% of my playing time I must represent my husband’s guild when we are pveing together. I also need a guild that isnt interested in high school drama.
I’m looking for a guild with a good group of people who want to play the game and have fun.

I didn’t know what the heck to do all the way to level 80 (and it was bad for my gold and traits, since I knew nothing about builds and I had a terribly squishy ele). But joining a guild, whatever size, as long as it has active and helpful players is totally the way to go. A larger guild might have more people on when you play, but a medium size might be more personal. Either way, join one or two and get a feel for what you want out of the game. Most people on my server are very helpful, but I hear other servers are not as lovely as Maguuma, either way, if your server is good, you can even ask in LA map chat.

^^ This. Seriously, I feel like everyone has both of these problems whenever they are searching for armor. I spend so much time double and triple checking, trying not to waste my gold on duplicates or getting the wrong armor class. (I mainly keep all of my gold on one character, so I use it to buy my other 7 chars things they need for leveling)

Funny story, my Asura has the same hair color as yours now, since I changed it back due to the fact that no dyes match to cool new hair colors
