This is sort of how I look at it, let’s all show a little love for all of our community members… This game should be about the community, not about all the fighting…

How about Everyone above 50 gets reduced to 50 (probably 1% of the players), everyone who was 50 and below simply loses 20 levels….that way it is a fair drop for everyone! Hey, if its fair to drop the top people 20 levels (since all the content is currently at 30 that was previously at 50) it should be fair to drop EVERYONE 20 levels and make even the people who are currently rushing to get to 30 this week lose 20 levels….and if you just happened to be at 20 or below…you start over.

How would the people who think this is “fair” feel then?

I wondered about this. Are players who have only gone up to 30 actually ready for lvl 30 new fractals? They likened the 30-39 difficulty to current 40s, so I’m just wondering if those at 30 really ought to go down a few levels…. I don’t know!!!

Right, because with everything right now it takes about 5-10 hours to get to character level 30, and given a 1.5 hour average per fractal, more like 45 hours for 30 fractal levels. Ish. Sort of.
….so it isn’t an equivalent comparison. But I think you’re using the argument in the opposite manner, but I could be wrong.

I don’t think I deserve compensation for my progress either to 42. But they didn’t get one kinds of rewards 50+ because rewards did not scale. That’s part of why its a kick in the face, I think, to them, because people are acting like they are rolling in gold because of those levels, when they aren’t, by any stretch.

I think Weth is trying to say they are surprised that so many people in the community are trying to devalue the progress other members made in fractals by accusing them falsely and trying to deny them the right to ask for compensation.

Well, I don’t know. 30s weren’t all that hard… This all being said, I am on one hand excited about new challenges, but on the other hand I totally understand why those at 50+ are on the verge of quitting. I’m not looking forward to pugging fractals once this patch hits. There are plenty of “scrub” players at 30 right now that I would have no desire to play with, but it will be very hard to filter pugs now, as AR won’t be really an accurate gauge (I guess, was it ever?).

The first couple weeks are going to be rough, I think, but I’m hoping that the challenges will be hard enough that the casuals duck out at 40 or so. Then we might be back to normal, if people don’t quit like they’re tempted to >.<

I used first the iPad mail app, but then used the normal gmail web mail using chrome on my desktop.

I always love gw2 mails, so no, I’ve never marked it as spam. I also added support and forums to contacts.

I’m using gmail, but it isn’t showing up in promotions, spam, or trash. I looked at that post, but am I missing a folder? I’ve even searched it in the search bar. I tried setting up another support account, using the same email, thinking maybe I spelt it wrong the first time, but it says the email is still waiting for confirmation. So I submitted to send another welcome email, and did that a few times.

I haven’t even been in there…. I’m such a bad player.

This new release has placed all of us in the dungeon community into states of high and violent emotion. Let us sit back for a second and reflect on some singular acts of accomplishment in the past year.

Really weak example:
At a Jade Maw level 48, I was targeted by Maw, and I used burning retreat to get to the closest crystal behind me. And someone noticed!

I guess I’m wondering about the scale too. Is a fractal runner at prl 10 right now good enough to run fractal lvl 10 after patch?
How about for 20? 30?
How is this scaling is the real question. If people who went to 50+ are being clumped in with prls at 30, can a prl 30 person of today actually do fractal lvl 30 next week?

I guess that’s true, but i really feel I’m losing virtually nothing (prl 42) as my rewards for fractals have always been appropriate for the level I was doing, whereas 50+ were doing it for 40 rewards, under the impression that when the cap was let go, they would be better off.

I agree. They could have said “you can do 50+, technically! but there’s a possibility all of your progress will be wiped at a later date due to what we are planning with fractals”

My time is valuable to me and I would like to see compensation for it. I also never stated that I should receive the same compensation at somebody at 80.

Ethics… We got level based rewards for ALL of our fractals. They got crap level 40 rewards for ALL of their fractals over 49, despite it being more difficult. That is not an opinion.

I’m not legit sad, it sucks, but I’m certainly better off than those who leveled to 80. I got level based rewards for all of my levels.

As for leveling, I won’t be able to. I have a job now, I can’t do a daily fractal, so I’ll likely be at level 30 for years. And that’s okay with me. I don’t care about leaderboards.

It was time invested regardless of difficulty. I already agreed that 50+ should also get a reward, but anet never really intended for people to progress past 50 (yet). I’m not declaring it an exploit, just saying it wasn’t intended.

People who invested time into getting to the ‘soft cap’ and waiting patiently, have nothing more to show than those that casually got to 30.

I stopped at 48, because we were told that eventually we could progress further. I waited like a good little boy, and now they just reset to 30.

Yeah, and I salvaged mine for the dark matter, ecto, and traveler runes that gave me beau coup gold.

This is a cool idea. I’d support this, but I would like the people who have the levels opinions, as I certainly couldn’t speak for them.
I wouldn’t get a title, but I think it would be awesome for those people who worked hard.

It’s not exploiting to run odd fractals. Stop accusing players, the players who are likely the best gw2 pve has to offer, of exploiting when you know nothing about it.

They do deserve compensation. If those folks who got compensation for their infinite gathering tools got it, why shouldn’t people who actually play the kittening game be compensated? Ridiculous.

The animations are a little strange for fire and water. However I like air and earth very much. However, my Asura ele is perfect in all ways hehe <3
Some of the problems with the animations are likely due to the fact that Asura models are just so small, so melee dagger attacks that are tied to, say, fire, get buggered up because they need some visible animation.

I’m excited because now I can change my main without feeling like I’m wasting money.

Second this. I need to know when I need to buy them by, so I don’t miss out.

Caithe shouldn’t be considered a Living Story Hero. She’s only shown up as part of the dungeon, for which she was already a part. Kasmeer should also not be considered a hero because she’s a sidekick.

You fought beside both and both are important to the story, if I remove them then I should start removing characters like Emissary Vorpp who is not overly important and you did not fight alongside.

Yeah, too many people think that numbers and ratios care about subjective things like a players perspective of a character.
