I think an important statistic may be, how many women who play this game are believed to actually be women. People dont believe me until VOIP. A lot of ladies likely dont have or want to be in VOIP.

Two things.

1) 45% of people who play video games are women. That’s very nearly half. So this whole “men play ALL the games!” is total junk. Also

2) There was a study done that said if a group of people were 17% of women, men in the group think it’s 50-50. And if there’s 33% women, men think there are more women than men. Which seems fairly relevant since someone above mentioned there were 16 men in the living story to 11 women, yet here we are debating how it’s way more women in the living story.

Also, basing it on the living story and living story alone is stupid. You can’t pick such a small base and make asumtions on it. Even if the living story had more ladies, it doesn’t change the fact that a lot of other prominent NPCs are male.

As a side note, evo psych is just used by jerks to justify their wrong beliefs (like ‘women are just better at house stuff! It’s science!’ or ‘men are just better at everything! It’s science!’).

Ok so your argument is that because elves are lithe and graceful they are not guys because apparently guys can not be lithe and graceful? Umm ok. Also DnD has a long tradition of female dwarves that do not have beards. I recommend doing a google search.

It was certainly educational to how your mind works but I doubt it should be used as a basis to judge how many male or female characters given living story has which is what this thread is about.

Your argument was that the gender of Trahernia, Scarlet, Caithe, Canach etc can be ignored because they are Sylvari and by your logic all Sylvari are girls. This is not true.

I could make an argument all Norn are male because you know. They are large, brash, boasty, competitive and aggressive which for some is what “real men” are about. That would be equally bad justification though.

I’m actually pretty sure gw2 lore does not differentiate much between male and female sylvari. They choose what they wish to be when they leave the dream, it isn’t a genetics thing, it is, in fact, a shape thing. They don’t reproduce, right?

I think it was perfectly reasonable to kill first, but the person likely wanted to help kill. However, if you got to the place while they were downed, that’s a different story.

Meaning, if he was downed and you got him up, that would have made more sense than to let him full die. But if he was full dead, it makes sense to wait.

Angel, don’t you think it’s a better method than the ticket scraps, assuming it is like the Braham ones?

By team I meant in wvw /team not party.

But right they shouldn’t be in your party if you blocked them.

Ignore/block should remove the player you are blocking from your playing experience. They should not be able to see you, you should not be forced to read their messages in map, team, emote, or guild.

This is just my 2 cents after an entirely ridiculous thread got locked in discussion, and it was recommended that players make a suggestion about the block/ignore feature without any of the silly subtext.

Good elementalists can bring a lot to a party… Firy greatsword is one thing, it can benefit another member of the team’s dips as well as your own.
This being said i am a terrible elementalist, so when I feel like being faux good in pugs I grab my guard or warrior.

I got The Legend twice; one in February and one in September. I wasn’t really trying hard at all. Got them both on my main, my elementalist. However, I wasted hundreds of gold in the forge trying to get The Lover this past May. I crafted them on my warrior and got Nothing.
I would like to believe that it has something to do with which character I used. But I realize that it is all anecdotal and not a large enough sample size.
However, I will never forge anything hoping for a precursor on anyone other than my main, just to be safe.

I agree with some other posters, I feel like my character is not as involved With living world as normally the hero of an rpg is. Also, the amount of grinding it takes to finish several living story objectives keeps a semi hardcore player like myself put off from achieving them. I would rather jump into a dungeon than do 50 door events. They’re normally more rewarding, and not boring, to me anyway.

Something I do really like about the living story meta achievements is the ability to do the daily parts that count toward the meta. This is basically the only way I was able to finish the twilight assault or the Halloween events. It was nice to have that option.

If I had that kind of gold, I would totally have bought it. No joke.

My inference, and it could be entirely wrong, is that the town clothes are town clothes and not armor because they are race/gender specific and not armor specific. In wvw at least I’m sure this could present a problem when gauging what you are fighting until you are actually in the fray of things.

They don’t want to make up 3 versions of these outfits. And let’s not forget how upset some female warrior might be if she doesn’t get to have that adorable witch costume because it is a “light” armor, or something like that.

This is my assumption and my opinion…. So none of this is likely factual

On topic; AC is such a toss up for me in pugs. I either get fantastic groups, or I’m stuck at the burrows, or hodgins is dead for the 10th time, and I just end up leaving and go do another dungeon. TA is I nice and puggable, so that’s usually my backup.

I like stacking. Makes things fun.

You need the tailor craft to 400. As for the recipes, i think you need 6 recipes, one for each armor type.

Also, since charged crystals are account bound and time gated, you need 30 days to make a full set of crystals, iirc
