And all who stood by and did nothing, who are they to criticize the sacrifices of others?
Our blood has bought their lives.
….The changes to dungeon owner is like stealing a deadly weapon in a nuclear war. ….
Really, your gonna go with that analogy?
I think Anet is being quite clear in that they don’t consider dungeon running (as a gold earning activity) to be worth protecting when compared to the actual intended use of the LFG tool and the instanced party system. The damage to a dungeon runners potential income is incidental, but has no relevance in the larger scheme of the how they want to fix the abuse the system allows to occur in it’s current form.
If you want to blame someone, how about the “kickers” that abused the system to the extent that Anet had to change it…..
BTW, everyone but Dungeon runners considers the party change to be QoL change….
Who the hell else does it affect? If you don’t run dungeons…. instance ownership is entirely irrelevant to you.
People can’t protect themselves against rude guilds, trolls, etc anymore. I WI definitely be afraid to pug. I can see it now: push my way through my daily fractal 50 and get kicked at the second phase of maw.
Or even worse: I DC for less than a minute and already kicked because they don’t have to worry about my ownership of the instance.

Try being new at the game. Asking questions on what to do gets you the boot. Apparently dungeons are only for players that have had the game since it’s release.
If you’re new and having trouble getting groups to guide you through: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/dungeons/Dungeon-Mentors-Noob/first
That’s amazing for a “rough sketch”. I love your style!
This is fabulous! I want an inquest red one
If I didn’t start the instance I’d grab my guardian and show them how to play one.
Hi Rypo! Sorry you were missed! I will be sure to send you an invite when I next get online. Alternatively, messaging iris, or anyone in the guild (almost every regular on the forum here) can invite you. So if you’re in game, try messaging Iris, or Ivan, etc. thanks for your interest and sorry we missed you!
As it’s Friday and I promised I’d summarize this beast I’ll be working on it after work. If you see me online and I still haven’t threaten to report me if I don’t hop to it.
I love how large the Asura t3 shoulders are but that doesn’t quite help you for Charr.

makes me very sad. We’re a smaller guild and the majority of members live in the EST, so it’s like 4am for them. I wouldn’t expect my guildies to be in the mood for fractals 24/7.
I think you’re misunderstanding what about that makes Ropechef so sad.
It’s okay Chef. Someday I’ll learn the secret to not having to sleep and be up when you are to traverse the mists.
Was I the only one that thought “welp, now they know what specifically to nerf” when I saw the red post on the PvXWiki? Love the website, but I’m wary of the devs.
Maybe I should take a few weeks off the forums.
You should. And come to mine
Standard, sure, but it’s still hideous, hard to navigate, and annoying enough to the point that I just don’t care enough to try. :P
Lol. Fair nuff.
Unfortunately I have a personal rule against other external sites to the official forums, so you won’t see me stalking your threads. That said, I hope you’ll still post contests here as well. Good luck on the site!
Sad. Enjin is so standard. Lol
At least u no nerfcro.
Ps. I’ve had the question thrown at me about “18+” and basically the reason I say that is because I don’t want parents sending their younger kids there… due to profanity. If you’re 16+ or close to that and not afraid of a little bit of swearing we should be fine.
Some more exposure?
Come to glamorwars2.enjin.com for an additional place to set up shop with those most interested in showcasing their character fashion!
Hey folks. Due to draconian moderation, I have moved my contests, fashion threads, and other conversation to my new website. http://glamorwars2.enjin.com/
I’d love to see you all join the community and I am looking for a few admins to help moderate. There won’t be heavy moderation there. Basically it is an 18+ community and the only rules are the enjin rules. I’ve begun setting everything up, but it is not completed so I hope you bear with me. So far everything on it has been done on my cell phone, so all in all I guess it could be worse.
Hope to see you all there! And please let me know if you’re interested in being an admin!

Arena Net just released a preview of the new design of male tribal armor that’s going to be released in the gem store soon. Hope you guys like it as much as I do!

I pug fractals a lot and find that it’s about 50/50 terribad/fabulous. Level 38 is about 50/50 exactly, and my 50s are about 25/75. Below 38 it’s so random it’s hard to say.
If someone completes the dungeon while you are attempting to selling it, we are not going to take action against that person. If you invite them into your group or list the group via LFG, they are well within their right to finish the dungeon if you decide to leave the boss at 1%.
And about the actual issue in the thread? The possible exploit?
My female asura looks like a girl.
I’m glad you’re using one of the three
armorsetsoutfits that actually display the female version.Still, I want to be a man if I can’t be a girl.
Oh okay I’m sorry.
My Asura looks like a girl.
If anything, I’d call that another problem with armors in general: SKIRTS!
Because that armor really isn’t supposed to be feminine…except it’s a skirt-type light armor. Are you saying males wearing that same armorset are girlish?
But this I find is a problem with GW2 armors in general…and with a lot of MMOs now-a-days, they put in so many butt-capes and skirts, it leaves little option for variety…it’s like people think those skirt dealies look good when your avatar is running around, jumping and kicking stuff…it’s not.
I agree. I want light pants with no butt capes!
Sorry Lilith, but just because your hair is in a braid and has a bowtie doesn’t make every armorset you put on female. That armorset doesn’t look girl-ish at all, but it does appropriately match and accommodate your hair.
We’re talking about armor, not faces/hairs.
TA Armor absolutely looks girlish. The flair on the sleeves, the flowing leaves of the skirt, the “cleavage” window….GIRLY. I looked at the male human version and yeah….GIRLY.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/File:Nightmare_Court_armor_(light)_human_male_front.jpg
And even the male asura just looks like a really ugly girl asura.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/File:Nightmare_Court_armor_(light)_asura_both_front.jpg
Also, she didn’t say that every armorset on female Asura is girly…she’s saying it’s possible. Could it be easier…yes, of course.
And exactly why can’t a certain hairstyle/facial features add to the girly look? Think babies…they all look the same until you add a headband to their head.
Yeah babies all look like little wrinkled aliens. Hehe.
But right you can’t say there aren’t options, which was my point exactly. To be entirely honest I don’t want more feminine female asura armor before we get some pants without butt capes.
Ps. Skimpy female Asura… doesn’t look feminine to me, so full flow dresses do, but not my attached picture. Despite how cute and pink she is.
I just had a war over Asura feminineness with Esplen. -_-
Infractions inc.
Echoing complaints, especially regarding the lack of diversity in medium armor. It’s particularly bad for Charr, since the more clothing Charr wear the more ridiculous they look. A few more bare-armed or bare-chested looks would go a long way, to say nothing of a chest piece that isn’t yet another duster.
Medium Charr seriously got the short end of that toothpick.
I am watching closely how GemStore skins will relate to these achievements, they better be VERY careful about giving free stuff for cashers.
We’re called cashers now?
I hope my full set of lovestruck skins gets an achievement and a title. Even the uninspired “Lovestruck” title would incite me to change from The Emperor.
No, I meant people who grab every single skin from GemStore. I for one can’t spend that much. Just saying.
I have all of the skins from the gem store.
I’m sorry you can’t spend that much but… I for one (oh yes I’m biased) see nothing wrong with gem store skins (either thematically or otherwise) being included in achievements.
I have a ton of skins from the gem shop too but I wouldn’t classify that as an achievement I was proud of if they added it. I definitely think Achievements like beating Liadri were more the type of achievement I am most proud of. Omnomnivore or “Champion X” title from PvP. Buying stuff and getting an achievement for it is akin to a special crown I get to wear at Nordstrom because I shop there a lot. Not really an achievement.
So, if there’s a collection achievement that says “flame weapons” (as an example) and fused weapons were included, would you find getting some of these to be “not really an achievement”?
It’s fine if you don’t. I just don’t think there needs to be a distinction. In fact I think it’s a bit insulting to those that farm gold to convert (I don’t do this) to say what they do with their time isn’t worthy of an achievement.
Don’t get me wrong. It’s not my intent to insult. It’s just my interpretation of the word “Acheivement”. Let me clarify my point: For me personally I have achievements and titles I am more proud of than others because of what it took me skill-wise or time wise to accomplish. IF <——key word for what I am about to say. If there are achievements tied to gem shop skins and I can whip out my credit card or go to the store and purchase a gem card and get said achievement instantaneously for spending money: It is inherently going to mean much less than something like “The Blazing Light” title to me. Does that make sense? I wasn’t meaning to offend anyone. Just stating my personal opinion on achievements.
Now, if they had added new content to the game to go with this new feature whether it be new events in existing maps or new events in new maps, I would be more excited about this. As it is, they are basically telling me I need to go do stuff I have done a ton of times before in order to get new achievements. Some of them will be added retroactively and I appreciate that a ton. I really do. There are also ones I am not being recognized for because they aren’t retroactive and that is frustrating. It’s basically telling vets to go back and play through content they have already played a ton of times and it includes crafting because I sure as heck didn’t hold on to crafted exotics as I was leveling my crafting professions to 400 in hopes that one day I would get achievements for it. I didn’t hold on to the metric ton of crafted exotic armor sets that I had to make on my way to 500 either so I could make my Ascended sets. So will we have to go through this again for achievements on the way to 600?
Makes sense to me.
I guess the some things won’t be retroactive makes sense to me… similarly to the wardrobe there are technical limitations. I understand that. It sucks but… it’s understandable
and again, that’s your face and hair, not the armor itself.
That was my Asura laughing at you. Nothing more.
Well I’m glad that you’re capable of having a discuss- oh wait, sorry wrong person.
I gave you 4 examples how you were wrong. Your response was “my interpretation of feminine doesn’t match yours so you’re wrong.” There is no room for discussion there brah.
The first armor is 1) a Vigil-exclusive and so far not even the gem store does not allow you to bypass that restriction so that’s not an option for 67% of the warriors/guardians, and 2) it only looks skimpy because of the point of view, you barely see the girl’s legs normally. In fact if you count THAT as revealing, I could make a male norn, give him Pitfighter, look under the kilt and say “there, males have revealing armor.”
The female Phalanx armor is an atrocity that doesn’t even look like the original art that was presented (on the male character), and on top of that it cost gems. I’ll give you that it’s revealing, but it looks silly to me. I don’t even know what she’s supposed to be wearing around the waist.
Pit Fighter is just as revealing on the males if not more so I don’t see why that one was mentionned. I’m pretty sure barbaric shows a lot of torso and muscle on a man too so we’re far from full plate.
Doesn’t matter though, I can give you that females are probably better off, my point is that the variety is limited for everyone, and on a much larger scale than just which gender is skimpier. Look at the first game in comparison: it didn’t matter what gender your character were, you had something for pretty any class stereotype you wanted. Let’s take the warrior for example. Want to look like a total psychopath in dark armor? Core prestige armor, Kurzick armor, Primeval Armor. Want to look like a samurai? Luxon armor. Want to look like a knight? Elite platemail, Elite templar, Elite sunspear. Want to be skimpy? Elite gladiator, skimpy for both genders. And since paragon would be considered an heavy armor class here, you also get looks for roman centurion stuff. This game has nowhere near that variety. Yeah sure I’m picking armors from 3 campaigns and 1 expansion for GW1, but if GW2 is playing the “no expansion, small updates instead” then I think it’s fair to compare it to the first game.
And there are some really easy things they could have done in GW2 to break the monotony. Look at the first soldier armors you get, they’re so similar. Why didn’t they make at least one of them bare-legged. In Guild Wars 1 the starter armors for warriors were all bare leg. (And yes, that included males.) This is a really small fix that would make the starter armors look completely different.
Lol first thing, any character can use any order armor. Lemme read the rest of your rant. Hold on.
After reading it: I think you’re giving all these reasons why the exceptions and examples that prove you wrong are invalid and refusing to accept them. Rather than saying “Oh right there is that but I would like there to be more x because I am unsatisfied with current choices. I would like y and z from irrelevant game 1 and possibly a and b.” You decide to go with “NONE OF THAT COUNTS.”
So silly.

and again, that’s your face and hair, not the armor itself.
That was my Asura laughing at you. Nothing more.
Sorry you can’t see the feminine nature of multitudes of armor sets.
Sorry Lilith, but just because your hair is in a braid and has a bowtie doesn’t make every armorset you put on female. That armorset doesn’t look girl-ish at all, but it does appropriately match and accommodate your hair.

Still looks like a girl.
Sorry Esplen. How you consider feathered, TA, parts of Arah, Winged, T3 light, to not look feminine is your problem.

Can we first get better scholar male armor?
I would love for some clothes are are simple BUT elegant, with a very focused and appealing theme behind them. Instead, most of our “simple” clothes are boring and bland, and everything else is overly-detailed, busy and nonsense.
I’m very fond of CoE male light armor. The detail and pattern is lovely

Wow. That must be a ton of data.
Do you ever delete historical data or do you keep it backed up for.ev.er.? Heh
I hope so. I would hate to think that they follow the IRS method of data storage….. :P
Haha right? That’s an insane amount of data.
Archiving is one thing. Deleting data is a crime against humanity.
We at my software company keep everything too…… but it’s for Redacted so I thought it was just because of that. Lol
Wow. That must be a ton of data.

The armors in this game lack variety in general. You speak about armors for females as an exemple of variety but those lack variety just as much. I play a female warrior and if I wanted to look scantily clad my only option would be to look like a cave girl. And on the complete opposite, if you play a female caster and you DON’T want to be half-naked, well… that’s not happening.
If Anet’s artists are out of ideas they should hire some of the Skyrim modders on nexusmods. There are some really really cool and varied lore-friendly armors for both genders.
You confuse me.
1. She’s a cave woman? Nah.
2. She’s a skimpy mesmer? Nah.
3. She’s a cave woman? Nah.
4. Two Kormir light armor combos… skimpy? Hardly!
5. A couple skimpy males. No medium skimp. Sorry boys.
Edit: these are the examples I had handy on my phone. I could probably find better.
Wow. Maybe I should salvage more.
I waste too many items to merchants out of laziness. I know you’ve answered this question about specific materials being sold to merchants in the past, but do you keep track of armors and weapons being sold to merchants and how much material on average is being essentially deleted from the game?
Feathered chest shows off some abs. But oddly, for males, it seems the skimpiest armor is heavy hehehe
So… just to be honest: what really bugs me is that they may take away GemStore skins just like they did with Sclerite… and I’ll never be able to buy them in the future. It’s just that I’m not able to acquire them as of now, and it feels bad to be missing out on stuff since I really like this game, and I’m sort of a collector.
I understand that… I’m only missing the wizard hat and I’m reminded of that a lot. Sad.
I think Sclerite will come back someday. It just takes time. Similar to the Perma hair contract. Once supply was gone entirely they re-released it. Heh
Magic find isn’t always the answer. It’d be awesome if it was.
I’ve seen people with 87% magic find get a lot more high quality drops than someone that has 125%. Which is really a bummer.
The affects of magic find are only noticeable after 100s of drops. The difference between 87 and 125 is only going to be consistently significant after 1,000s of drops. It doesn’t guarantee you better, it instead accumulates better results over time. Since I get maybe 30-40 total drops in an FotM run, I’m not sure how noticeable it would be even after only a few runs.
Two of us have been running FotM about 4x a week; we each have about 200% MF. We don’t see Mist Essences every run (of 4 fractals); we do see 1-2 per week between us. Your mileage will vary.
Absolutely agree.
There’s also that weird time in Cliffside you get 3 shards in a row. Haha. This happened right before we lost the hammer and broke our instance. But still. Shards!
Oh gosh…
I hope there’s like a skritt shiny achievement with a skritt tonic reward.
It will have a positive or negative effect on me, depending on how you look at it.
I really get wrapped up in To-Do lists, and sometimes it’s hard to find the balance between fun and compulsion. Usually, they are great, as they help me pick out a few things to help me focus on. In lieu of them, I usually make my own list of things I’d like to try to achieve in a day.
I’ve always been behind a few people I have become acquainted with in the game. I’ve recently made a push to try to knock out some of the static achievements in an effort to at least close the gap a ‘little’ (I know I’ll never catch up entirely, as I think they do quite a bit of WvW, which I don’t any more).
Now, with more achievements, and specifically calling out new ones for dungeons, and not being a dungeon runner myself, that’s just ‘more’ things I know I’ll never get to do, and is a bit discouraging to me, after having made an effort to try to get some of these other things done (and we won’t go into how ripped off I feel about divers getting their completion before the l33t d00dz dive in that Atherblade puzzle was added :\ – that’s the only dive I had left, and the only reason I’m forced to do it is because I elected not to do that achievement right away).
So, while it’s a bit of a curse, it is also perhaps a blessing, and maybe a sign that I need to let some (or all) of this go.
I totally get where you’re coming from ^^
Luckily for me… I don’t have all that much compulsion to complete things… until I get REALLY close. If it looks like there are just a few holes, I can’t help myself. But like with wvw and jumping puzzles, I’m no where near completion so I don’t mind.
What will get me is when they have sections of skins from the wardrobe where I’ll be inevitably missing just a few in EACH category I’ll be screwed and unable to help myself to complete those haha
I am watching closely how GemStore skins will relate to these achievements, they better be VERY careful about giving free stuff for cashers.

Have you ever seen his Necro Lilith? It is a horrible creation…he needs you to put in ALL your knowledge and effort in order to make it look good. Please Lilith, think of our eyes
If I have seen his necro, I’ve forgotten so maybe it’s that bad?haha
When I get home I’ll try to design a set for you Sam.
I can’t wait for all the collections you can get from WvW maps.
And the ensuiing complaints that in order to get the cheevs you need to go to WvW.
And the ensuing complaints that there are more achievements in pve than wvw.
Would have been better with keeping the current collection tab on the bank for the ones you like to use for awhile and then store NOT in a bank slot AND attached to character screen. Then you have choice of convenience or keeping with possible resale (and not consuming bank slot). I am thinking the more seasonal ones.
I’ll probably just use my personal guild bank for storage I guess….
I think that’s totally a good option. Plus, now they will stack so it’s only 1 slot for up to 250. That’s epic.
