And all who stood by and did nothing, who are they to criticize the sacrifices of others?
Our blood has bought their lives.

Irrelevant. RP has been taken out of the game
That hurts brah.

Wow. And they’re sentient. Poor kodan.
Have you ever stepped into one of the Norn homes?
Well, my character is not Norn, nor the Norm carries a head of a dead animal with them.
The backpack needs a little class and less barbaric.
One of the Norn helms is literally a wolf head.
There’s a symbolical and divine difference. When the Norn wears the animal skin, they honor that animal and use them as their spiritual guide.
Now look at the backpack. It’s plain animal cruelty.
I see no difference.
goes off to slay moas
How many slayer achievements do you have?
Irrelevant. This backpack will stare at me while playing my character.
Do the visions of all the countless wildlife you’ve slaughtered in the name of Achievement Points not haunt you day to day?
If not. You monster.
But really if you don’t like it there are a host of other back pieces to wear.

Ah there’s a hylek collection too eh?
Sun beads for the godskull weapons?
I’m confused. But yeah it’d be nice to have a better way of buying these
I’d say my least favorite change was the weapon unlocks, but honestly it was also my most favorite change. I hated unlocking those later skills on weapons so slowly. On all of my weapons. Ugh. But now it’s a bit like… doesn’t matter what weapon I choose, I’ll have the same amount of progress there. I actually really appreciate that change.
but do you realize the big inconsistency here? Your “contradiction” is not a coincidence
They did put a lock on weapon skills so you can slowly learn how to use each one of them [good concept, bad implementation (IMO) but lets continue]… but if you suddenly change your weapon you get 5 new skills that you have no idea how to use. So… do we get them slower to learn or 5 at the same time cause at lvl 10 we are so cleaver we know how to read 5 tool tips?… but still we can’t read 3 for our utility and need 35 levels!!! to do so?
The new system is a mess with no consistency, so weak in concept that I wonder how it got through approvals inside the company… Does anybody inside ANet ever audits what’s going live? I think they have much bigger issues than a bad patch
I don’t really have anything to respond to. I like it. Sorry you dont? But you don’t like anything. So… I don’t know?
I like a lot of things but you won’t see me listing them here in the forums, I just enjoy it online. You assume too much with little knowledge. For once, I thought that putting emphasis on the leveling system and add small rewards each level was a great thing! All the rest they did with the skills (and a lot of other things) lock out I find it terrible and unproductive. Against what their arguments were. I don’t think this will ever help a player learn the game. The same text placed at arbitrary levels could’ve been placed without locking the content itself.
That said, whether you like or not doesn’t negate the fact that it is weak and inconsistent. It contradict itself. There is no clear direction on why this was changed. If you accept it just because it has new colors and marks around shiny icons, then you can go ahead, link another cute Asura picture because your are clearly the target for this changes.
Clearly.

The only problem is forcing it upon alts. Fix that and most of the complaints go away.
How to fix it?
1. Either give out scrolls lv20/40/60/80 (easiest but wouldn’t make every complaint go away)
2. Force the system upon new players, leave the pre-patch system for the veterans.
3. Something else?
Idk. Maybe give the option to either unlock weapon skills by killing or by leveling. Maybe keep the leveling by default and you can go into options to choose by killing? I don’t know if that’s technically feasible. But I feel like the other changes would be welcomed more by the community if you could do more than just 1 111111111 in the first part of the tutorial lol
Let’s be real here. This page is filled with “Leveling sux” madness. Honestly, how anyone can feel like that is the main issue with this patch is silly. Because it isn’t that bad and it really doesn’t affect vets as much as they seem to claim.
Leaving that aside, I’d like to list the details of problems that are not just present but also gamebreaking.
The most obvious is of course the Arah p2 bug, that prevents Belka from becoming initiated, and thus blocks progress. This has been reported, but I believe that it’s one of the biggest things that should be talked about. It is obvious that there needs to be some changes to how QA works and how things are tested. Anet, that’s an issue you need to address internally and fix the problem externally.
There is also the bug in the Uncategorized Fractal that full defeats you and destroys your armor if you fall. This should be fixed or at least acknowledged immediately. But thank you for fixing the Cliffside bug. I still feel like you owe me 4 fractal weapons from the 4 that broke at that stupid fractal since the last patch!
Edit: Thaumanova fractal no longer teleports you to the chest.
Another issue that I find extremely distressing is the absence of Tonn (and Apatia if i recall correctly) Tonn is the Asura who dies planting explosives and then you have to inform his wife. This needs to be fixed immediately, why? Well because it is one part of the PS that actually touches your “feels” (similar to the Mentor dying.
Crafting overhaul was very nice, but someone didn’t do their homework. Jewelcrafting cannot make bronze! or a lot of the other things involved in their backpiece (which are very nice btw). So switch the recipes to copper, silver, gold, and platinum, and we should be good!
There are problems with guiding new characters to difficult content, like a level 2 Norn to Frostgorge, and other such things. So you need to mess with those parameters a tad, it seems like the idea was not fleshed out entirely and probably not tested on any race besides human.
This is my list. Let me know if I missed anything major.

Just like when articles are posted praising GW2 and Anet, people say to take what was said as a grain of salt. Same can be said for negative articles. Lets not have double standards.
ALL IS NEGATIVE. Forum rage supreme!
Honestly I was enjoying leveling my new Charr yesterday. Vayne, I think everyone is mistaking proper grammar and spelling (along with manners and etiquette) with PR speak. even when I disagree with you, your posts make me happy because I don’t think I’ve ever seen a wrong form of “their they’re and there”.
This is more a comment on the fan’s reactions. I don’t think anyone at PC gamer tested it. They certainly didn’t say they did.
Ofcourse they don’t say it u whiteknight.
When I read a review on a gamesite and I don’t see anything where they litteraly tell that they played the game, then man, I won’t take that review seriously!!!Dude, your white knighting is losing its touch.
He’s not a white knight. However, I can’t state my opinion of what he really is, since I’ll get an infraction again. Just bear in mind that he is able to actively defend the game for at leastt 8 hours a day (check his posting history) and does to on every thread, with a PR-esque demeanor.
You can honestly like something that others don’t without it having a nefarious and dishonest purpose. :/
Permanent bank access express. Permanent TP express. Problem solved.
Is there any problem that more gems won’t solve?
Less gems? Haha
I want the Perma bank pretty bad. But I might literally kill (every in game moa ) for a perma hair style kit.
My problem is when people talk as if they speak for everyone.
Of course the forums are an important part of the community’s feelings(I never said it wasn’t) but neither of us can just assume a majority of the players like or dislike the new update.
Yes, there are forum posts and people ingame saying they dislike the update, but unless you have actual numbers, none of us really knows what most people think.
But hey, since I am outnumbered in this thread, I guess my opinion just does not count then.
It counts.
This thread just became legit since Lilith’s asura is on it.
We’re on opposite sides of this but I’ll love you forever <3
I’ll still share cake with you
PS: The fact that we don’t share the same point of view on matters doesn’t make us enemies last time I checked, lol. Too bad many people get that impression :<
Entirely agree. I wish more people would get that ^^

Has there ever been a patch/feature that has been this hated by the community? The closest I can think of is ascended
Fractured.
I might be able to join. But I already promised dan he’d teach me to solo lupi so I’ll just pretend I suck during your run.
Meh. I don’t care. I don’t think it hurts you. And if it comes and when it doesn’t hurt you I’ll smile and nod. If it does hurt you waves (which is so beyond unlikely that I can’t even understand how you would think it would happen).
Good day all.
I’m a pretty diehard fangirl. I’ll stick around if they introduce this, because it would probably save me money <3
I don’t really understand why people care about it. If you don’t want the perks …. don’t pay for it? I don’t know. If there’s something on the store I don’t care for, I don’t buy it. I don’t complain and say “I’m leaving the game because you introduced optional items that I don’t want!”
I’m not trying to be a jerk or anything. I just really want to know how this affects people so much.
I don’t like microtransactions in general. GW2 is currently the sole exception because IMO they’ve done a very good job of sticking to selling things no one needs (but lots of people want).
I do buy gems with real money to get things I want from the gem store, but it’s very important to me that none of it is needed to play the game and it won’t affect my ability to play any of the content if I don’t.
From what I’ve heard about it the VIP system is the complete opposite of that. If you don’t pay for it you are very definitely a second tier player and will suffer as a result. Gem store prices are much higher, you have to pay to identify dyes, you can’t ressurect other players (or possibly there are limitations on who/how often, I’ve heard mixed things on this), can’t join friends who are in a different copy of the map, your bank and bag space is much more restricted, you get less traits, less skill points (not really an issue admittedly) and possibly even some skills are VIP exclusive.
The difference is, there’s no indication that having it brought in would actually affect your play style at all. It would improve the experience of the players who buy it, but not even anet, who has made some questionable decisions, would think that suddenly screwing over the majority of the player base by making it harder for you. They’re not going to introduce restrictions to your 2 year old account.
The personal story for instance is not the exact same reward system as china. They decided to keep the key for level 10. They’re not going to take away things and features to veteran players in that manner for a VIP status gem store option. It’ll probably be: 10$ for gem store discounts, free goodkes, and other cosmetic upgrades that you don’t need to worry about if you don’t want them.

It’s a matter of how you want to support the game. If they would ask me for money to create new content, I would atleast dumb 10€ per month into the game, only asking for them to keep their promises. If they want me to buy something from the gemstore,or even ay for VIP status, then no, I’ll never gonna do that. I’m not supporting such bold strategy to fund their game.
Okay but how does having a VIP status that you don’t want affect you in any way?

I think it’s pretty telling that the title of this thread is the 7th of its kind (check out the link, Fractal-Weapons-7) there’s something obviously wrong . The drop rates started being complained about in the third instance (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/dungeons/Fractal-weapons-3) and that was when the drop rate was higher.
I think it’s pretty obvious that a token system is anet’s best choice. An obscene amount of relics for a fractal weapon box (even if it is an RNG skin box!) Would go a long way. They want them to be rare. That’s fine! But there are too many possible weapons to hope that on the 3% chance you even get a weapon that it’s the one you need or want.
I’d love a blue one but I’d hate for it to be a reskin, only because the Crimson has the details on the edge of the eyes that looks like burnt or charred flesh. I feel like a blue one should be less fire and more… holy light? If that makes any sense. I love the idea of more of these though.
It rushed all of those into a wall before the downed penalty took it out completely.
Omg that’s beautiful.
I’ll pay you goooooold. zombie like Aaaaaaarttttttt.
May you melt enemies up there in heaven, oh FGS.
Where every class has a Tele skill and walls are everywhere.
RIP in peace.
#FGS #HROUDA #EZPUGS etc, etc.
Yes please, I’ve never run a fractal before, so help would be appreciated.
Which server are you on? I’ll be running one in 4 hours and 10 minutes
I’m pretty sure I managed my personal guild bank for 5K influence. It didn’t take much time, either, the guild vendor sells influence for gold. The only time barrier was the build time for the upgrades.
Now, getting the -next- tier of bank takes a lot more influence, and thus much more time and/or gold.
Yeah I just got mine to a deep cave. Cost a bunch of gold!
If I remember correctly, you first need research 2 levels architecture before you can build the bank. This will be for the 50-slot bank
I cannot remember how much influence you need to research levels 1 and 2, but to build the bank you need 5,000 just for that.
Hmmm. Looks like the wiki needs updating!
You go into the architecture tab and start building your architecture levels. You can build a small bank at level 2. You’ll probably need a bit more influence to do so though
Looks like you only need 2500 influence for the first bank. So all you’ll need is time!

Hey Sarah thanks for posting this here.
Some other info about [Noob]: we are constantly running teaching runs but very often do not have enough students to fill a run! I do low level fractals for teaching about 3 times a week and often have to fill the party with 2 or 3 veterans. So please feel free to message me or Sarah or any fractal mentor at any time so we can make sure you get the help you need.
Tonight around 430 EST I’ll be running a teaching run on either NA or EU (depends on who first messages me) so please let me know <3.
Thanks again Sarah.
I am so confused. It’s a backpiece that doesn’t have a skin afaik? :o
Yeah. Because I work 45+ hours per week I don’t have time to map complete but I make enough money that buying a legendary isn’t so bad if a save my morning tea money for a couple months. When I get online and have time I prefer to do content I enjoy rather than grinding for the item I want doing content I don’t enjoy. So that’s how I’d justify it. I haven’t bought a legendary yet, but intend on doing so for my upcoming birthday <3
I absolutely understand that and thought of that myself. It seems I misinterpreted this post at the time two weeks ago:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Dungeon-Instance-Owner-change-FTW/first#post4336064
Stealing instances using the LFG tool, or booting people for no reason (or to give your buddy the rewards for no work) at the end of a run are bannable offenses and should be reported.
You are probably right, sounds like “stealing” would fit more into your scenario.
Guess we’ll know for certain tomorrow.
Just to say, whether the thieves of an instance get punished or not, is totally irrelevant because the victim doesn’t get anything other than lost time.
I allways read about this, yet in half a year of pugging I haven´t experienced anyone get kicked after the dungeon has started, with the exception of people who are offline for more than a minute. I have never cared about being the opener, and have never been kicked, not even when rolling my necro or when I was new to the dungeon. Haven´t tried to combine those two things into one run, though
What I want to say is: I don´t think you need to fear kicks in Pugs all too much.
I’ve also never been kicked. But I have also protected myself.
However for months and months (almost a year.5 now) in the dungeon forum we have threads of people who got kicked. Sure, that might not be the majority of pugs. But it happens and it isn’t worth risking.
Okay I’ve been informed that it might or probably is a low level karma item with the same icon.
ehhh? it’s 5g 24 s but ok. I sent one.
It’s going to be included in the collection. Will skyrocket, along with probably several dungeon recipe trinkets.
THANK YOU SWIFTY
Is anyone online right now? I need someone to buy me an operative ’ s creed? I’ll pay you back plus a couple gold ^^
Exciting! I’ll start forming my proposal. Thanks Chris!
The line will just continue to move and the sheeple will continue to defend the line as they run after it.
The game is in financial trouble, expect an acceleration of the line firmly into the P2W category.
This is just the next logical progression of the gem store eroding away the game.

If it was: you get kicked and you have your own instance at x spot, you could infinitely duplicate instances at the end boss. The way it will work is this:
5 players enter a dungeon and make some progress. 1 player who started the instance gets kicked. That player is outside of the dungeon, no instance and must start over. The other 4 can find another player and continue on in their instance. If all 5 people leave an instance it is destroyed. If the leader leaves, instance is not destroyed.
How it works before patch, right now: leader gets kicked, instance is destroyed for all 5 players
That’s the only change.
If it works the way you think it will work:
5 players enter instance and make progress. 1 person is kicked. All 5 people have their half completed instances. Kicked person finds a group. Continues on from where he left off. At the end, near end boss, up to 4 players can be kicked and be in their own instance ready for 4 new people go get the boss at the end.
That is obviously not how it will work.
In general I don’t DC for longer than 10 minutes (which will kick me from party automatically and destroy the instance) and it will be much more risky to pug. It takes 10 minutes of DCing to lose progress (and since I never let anyone else open when I pug) I’ve never been kicked, never had my progress lost since I started doing this.
I can never solo pug again for this reason. So I will have to have at least one friend available for a fractal, else I cannot protect my time and therefore will not run.
Didn’t know about the 10 minute rule. I’m sorry to hear you feeling that way. From what I’ve read on these forums you seem to like to help newer players.
Regardless, the way I see it you (you as in in general) will not lose your progress either way – so even if some people puging try to abuse the situation – with the risk of being reported if it comes to potential abuse – you could still fill your group up again and finish the dungeon. I’m sure there will be some people happy about having a shorter dungeon run.
I’ve only been in fractals 3-4 times with my guild, so I’m not sure if that would be different there or if the same synergies apply.
I’m not sure you’re understanding why I am saying what I’ve said.
If I get kicked from the party I started, halfway or whatever through an instance, I lose my progress and must start again. I don’t get to go into fractals and start where I left off. I have to start an entirely new instance. I don’t think that every group is going to do this. I do think that the possibility and the fact that I lack any protection whatsoever is too high a risk for me to do it. I’m a working woman. I get on sporadically and don’t have a lot of time to play. If I have the choice between potentially losing an hour or more of my time or just not running I will choose to not run.
Instance ownership sucked for some people. There were cases where people lost their progress because someone had to leave or some other case. The solution should have been: instance owner cannot be kicked. If instance owner DCs for more than 10 minutes a member of the group who has the prerequisites (fractal prl or story for that dungeon) assumes the ownership, same for if the owner leaves party. Why this wasn’t done, I have no idea. I think it is a lazy approach to a problem they could have solved in far better ways.
Well you can count 1 non seller as against the change. As a runner exclusively it makes it muuuch worse
Are you not happy that in case you would disconnect (as the “instance owner”) the dungeon is not lost now?
I’m sure, as they said that they don’t want this to happen, that they will keep an eye on it so people don’t make five dungeon out of one, splitting at the end.
In general I don’t DC for longer than 10 minutes (which will kick me from party automatically and destroy the instance) and it will be much more risky to pug. I meant people who SELL runs (my bad). Those that run dungeons on a regular basis (at least the ones I’ve spoken to in my Guild) don’t think this is a BAD change at all. There may be issues with the change they do not foresee, however, so I don’t mean to imply this is a definate fix for the abuse, but I think the fact that Anet is trying to do SOMETHING is better than the current situation.
Well you can count 1 non seller as against the change. As a runner exclusively it makes it muuuch worse
