I’ve been playing since release pretty much, paying $120 NZD for the game (not even deluxe I had to buy gems for the upgrade) and with the amount of hours I’ve played and the fun I’ve had all I can say is money well spent. Was pretty excited finding out that an expansion is finally coming and originally thinking it’d be $60-80 NZD for me and I was prepared to pay that much. With the pre-purchase info out I was pretty disappointed that they couldn’t at least add a slot but I had one ready just in case. As for the base game being “free” to new members who pre-purchase HoT, im completely fine with like c’mon new players, more people to play with they added that as an incentive so more people would start playing. I do feel for people that purchased the base game recently just because anet said it was a requirement to play HoT and then later giving it for free with an expansion purchase but they made a mistake, $10 suck it up. For the amount of gameplay you get with no sub fee I dont see why people are kittening about the price.

i get that the same problems at gtx650ti i just bump up voltage at core and everything works great also check ur power supply.Higher settings make graphic card at heavy load and it need more power.ofc check that ur gpu cpu dont overheat.

Ok so first my new pc and now my laptop. I know for a fact its got nothing to do with my graphics card cause all drivers are up to date and ive tried repairing gw2 but I still get black screen on my pc(high/ultra settings) and laptop(low settings) Anyone know a fix for this? my friends getting this also. anet pls…

this is a brand new pc how would I fix it if its my monitor thats causing the problem?

So I recently started getting black screens with the cursor and audio still there and it happens maybe every 5 mins and the only way to fix it is to restart and even then it happens again. I have tried to update my drivers, change the nvidia settings, repair gw2, allowed it through firewall and so on but nothing seems to work. help pls.

I made my full ascended in like 25 days. There’s really no use for that and it’s just a waste of laurels. I mean the gold I worked for maybe like 2-3 weeks to get enough gold just playing casually and I made it little by little. Just try not to think of it as a chore and not have that “I need my ascended now, I need it asap” mentality. But then again you gotta consider the amount of gold I put in to get my professions to 500 which is quite a bit but gold is pretty easy with dungeons and world bosses available. Just play, save gold and you’ll eventually have the items required to make it

Are you going to overclock? If the answer is no, don’t get a K-series CPU. Seeing as you’re not building your own rig, I doubt you’re looking to venture into overclocking.

More wattage does NOT mean a better PSU. A good PSU means quality components providing a stable power output. A generic 800W PSU can perform worse than a good 600W PSU, and give less usable power output.

As I said before: please link the actual webshop instead of simply copying a list without any information.

could this run on max?

Ive basically got a $2000 budget but I wanted to fit in a razer deathstalker as well which is $100

So is the graphics card the only thing in my build thats holding me back from maxing out gw2 lag free? or

I had a look on the website and picked different parts and chose the i5 with a GTX960 and it cost around $1,950 total compared to the $1,790 I was paying for the one I mentioned earlier. Would this be better?

Youll still get some fps drops with that setup but nothing too bad. …if you can afford it go with the 780 ti for graphic card. .that thing is a beast and is price just went down due to the 960 970 and 980..also try and go with a Intel i7 4790k …it seems a little faster and is unlocked for you to overclock. .and it shouldn’t cost that much more than the 4790…for your monitor get a 120hz or 144z led if you can. ..you will limit your frames to just 60 with a 60 hz and it would be a waste of potential for your vid. card..
you don’t really need a full tower unless you plan on doing some water cooling or if you like a ton of room..I have a nzxt phantom mid tower and it had plenty of room for everything and it should save you some money….I went with corsair 850w for the power supply it had great review s and Lotta extra power for upgrades later. ….I would recommend just getting a 500g ssd if you can afford it….ssd is so much nicer and space friendly than the hdd

I added a 120gb ssd which people said would help with load screen times. Dang I have like $100 to spare and its a custom pc. The dude building it for me said that the i7 4790 (non-K version) shouldnt be much difference to performance than the K version and that I should put my money in for a GTX960 but its an extra $310 so it’s a bit out of my budget, could I maybe upgrade to it later in the future and just replace that one part? My main question is if the rig i’m getting built can run gw2 smoothly with med/high graphics in wvw at 30+ fps

I’m getting a new pc and wanted to get back into playing gw2. My current laptop can only run gw2 on max when i’m roaming solo and even then its at 20 fps or around there and goes to as low as 3-5 fps in wvw on low-med settings. I’m wondering if I can run it on max with no lag or fps drops. Not the most tech savvy person so idk can it? even in wvw

I started getting into dungeons again to make some gold for all the new stuff coming in and I’m getting tired of scrub pugs who cant speedrun/run the dungeons and in their lfg description it said “experienced only” -_- so I’m looking to get into a guild with people who know what theyre doing and are good at it

I am willing to pay 500 even 1000 gems for them

That’s why they gave you the option of unlocking it two ways. You can either search out the events themselves to unlock, since most of them was relatively easy to do, or you can simply pay a small fee and some skill points to unlock the ones you want but you don’t want to do the events for.

The only problem I have with the new system is the how far back they pushed traits level-wise. I’m in the process of lving up a mesmer, and it’s a bit of a pain at the moment, since their traits help a lot with their combat. He was around lv35 or so when the feature patch hit, and his combat when from decent to aggravating in a blink of an eye.

yes because everybody kept every single skill point scroll they ever got on their main and have a stack of 1million sitting in their bank……………………………. because 360 skill points are so easy to obtain when you have none to start with………………….its not like doing this across all classes from lvl 1 will be tedious at all oh no because there is some magical source of scrolls that you can gather in less then a day apparently.

I actually have 5 stacks right now in my bank, I’m getting maybe 20-50 skill point scrolls everyday and a lot of skill points from lvling up

Theres nothing wrong with the trait system? I got my mesmer to 80 so fast without even putting traits on lol. Comparing ANet to Nexon is completely bs, I played many Nexon games and have spent a tonne of cash on them and they are 100% pay to win, gw2 is not pay to win.

Nowadays all they care about it PPT, Some servers have really bad wvw guilds… Not gonna name any but some guilds in those servers fully take advantage of the off hours and go cap a bl when the server is 99% asleep because they cant win zerg v zerg in the time when everyone is on and thats sad… Wvw should be fixed to the point where its all about tactics and skill instead of ppt. C’mon ANet you know there are guilds out there in low tier servers that would wreck higher tier guilds in a fair fight.

Condi is the new meta, and honestly I feel like it takes no skill to play a condi build, I even tried it myself. Every time I fight a necro its like they have 3 sets of hp and just run around dropping condis and slowly waiting for you to die or a thief who just stabs condis on you and disappears then repeats it until you’re dead or an engi who constantly knocks you down or stuns you while bombarding you with condis and heals back to full health whenever he/she feels like and that is a load of bs…

Honestly, they were put there at a set price of gems with the hopes that people spend their real $ on it however they implemented the gold to gem conversion into the game allowing players who don’t have the money or those who don’t want to spend money to instead work for that item in game at a higher cost of course which is understandable because they want you to buy it with real money instead. But really who buys those boosters? Ive never spent real money or gold buying boosters from the gemstore and I’ve got stacks in my bank lol.
As for other gemstore items such as skins we can take league of legends for example, people happily paying $10+ for a skin why should gw2 be any different, its all cosmetics and is optional and the fact that anet added the gold to gem conversion is awesome.

Theres a lot of things about the gw2 community that bothers me like the amount of complaint threads on the forums. Every time I check the forums there are several threads complaining and whining about stuff like precursors and gems like seriously… Why? I feel that the prices of precursors and the crazy rare chances of getting them are good just the way they are, why? Because they are a key ingredient to making legendaries and legendaries are called legendaries for a reason, they are meant to be hard to obtain so people who grinded their way to make it can show it off, its an achievement so work for it. Gems is the next one I see a lot on the forums, “omg gold to gem conversion too hai pls nerf, anet wants us to spend real $$ to convert to gemz #pay2win” whaaaat??! Thats basically what most of those threads sound like also the fact that people hate it when anet advertises the gem to gold conversions on their page like wtf? Whats wrong with that? Anet didn’t have to add the gem to gold and gold to gem conversions in the game so you should be happy that they did.

The misuse of the term “pay to win” -_- like oh no story journal 200 gems per LS content #pay2win Skins and stuff are so expensive, gem to gold conversion is the only decent way to get gold to buy them now #pay2win really?… The term “pay to win” is allowing players to use real life currency to purchase something in game that gives them a huge advantage over players who don’t spend real money, skins as far as I know don’t give any advantage to players… Or do they… O__o #pay2win. Gw2 is a game that focuses a lot on cosmetics so you could be rockin’ those lamesauce dungeon armours and have the same stats as someone who’s done up their character with skins, no advantage there just looks if anything this game is #pay2swag. As for the upcoming story journal, 200 gems per LS content that you missed is pretty legit thats like what 20g? For something that you missed out on, stop complaining.

I used to be “that guy” who raged at the fact that anet nerfed the frostgorge train and limited the chests in dungeons. I thought that gems was the only way to get gold too but the game is much bigger than that and there’s a lot of ways to make gold and I pretty much make like 10-30+ gold everyday with just a few boss blitz and dungeon runs which is the same amount I was making before the nerfs. So stop complaining and enjoy the game

GoM did not lose once in the tournament, how is it fair that we(SF) get put with silvers and they get put with bronze they were technically the best in bronze :L

The wind aspect doesn’t guarantee a free cap against a team that knows what they’re doing, easily killed with 2 people. Crystals pretty much spawn randomly but after a game or 2 its really not hard to get the hang of it… I got the achievement by capping and then killing after we have a big point lead -_-

Is it that hard? does 99% of gw2 not understand English? or am I just one unlucky player that gets put into a team with scrubs who don’t understand English. Aspect arena is probably the most fun mini game IMO and i’ve been playing it a lot but there should be instructions before players start playing it is so frustrating trying to carry a team all by yourself. Anyone else feel the same?

I love pvp like a lot of people, but it has gotten to a point where it’s just so frustrating to play not to mention the wait times for solo queue only to be put into a team that doesn’t know what the hell they’re doing. It’s unfair to the higher rank players to have to be put with scrubs who don’t listen, who don’t cap points and keep chasing, or ones who straight up don’t give a single …. on whether or not they win or lose which is totally bs. And that’s pretty much 99% of matches, to get into a team that actually does stuff and win is like looting a freaking precursor like wtf?!. And then there’s people who talk kitten I mean yea you can block them but how can you call someone “bad” or a “scrub” when clearly they got their kitten handed to them in a 1v1 until their teammates came and helped them cause they’re too bad that they couldn’t do it themselves like there should be a penalty for kitten talkers. Also I have noticed that a lot of players use builds that require no skill at all but do a tonne of damage like condi condi condi “oh no! run away my condis are on CD” condi condi condi It doesn’t get any lamer than that -_- c’mon ANet you can do better…

Theres some DR scrubs in EBG using hacks, seriously what kind of guardian build regens to full health every 2 seconds and still hits high and moves fast af! smh DR… having to use hacks…

Some people like me, love pvp and what I love most is winning. Pvp right now is unfair because anyone who queues up in solo queue is put into the game regardless of their skill level making it suuuuuper frustrating for the players who know what they’re doing and this needs to change because I hate being put into a team full of scrubs which is 90% of the time -_-

Solo queue is full of new players who don’t know how to play, and kitten-talking scrubs who think they’re good when you clearly downed them before their team came and killed you. There should be bans for people who talk kitten and a skill requirement for solo queue so that people who know what they’re doing can actually have a chance at winning -_-

Seriously, playing ranked is soooo frustrating there’s so many noobs that get put into your team that don’t listen and roam thinking they can kill people when all they do is try to 1v5 and feed. Solo queue should be based on players skill level not who ever decides to queue up that’s total bs. 10+ mins of waiting only to be put with scrubs… -_-

Yea, IMO the huuuugee nerf to farming was made so that it would be harder to earn gold making the gem to gold conversion way seem like the only way to actually afford nice skins without farming for idk months? which is sad :L

All the hype for the wardrobe system blinded people from seeing the big nerfs they put into the game. Gold was already hard to earn and now its even harder to get that one skin you’ve always wanted. Now your’re either gonna farm for months or buy gems to convert to gold which is probably the intention for the nerfs “balancing the economy” hahaha its not a pay to win game, its pay to #swag and lets be honest gw2 = cosmetics.

So I was really excited for the new patch and I explored the new stuff when it was up, so many dyes and armor to try out, new traits and everything. Then I went over to do my usual fg farm…. “We’ll be reducing the amount of raw gold that comes out of champion loot bags and events in an effort to keep the economy balanced and spread out player activity a bit.” raw gold, which I thought was just the silver from the bag when opened but really wtf white boxes/bags, lamesauce item drops, everything about that train sucks jormags icy balls seriously like it was hard enough to make gold already and now its even harder and to make it worse prices for skins are rising -_- I know there’s other ways to make gold like dungeons etc. but to get a decent skin you’d have to farm for months for A nice skin… If you don’t want to spend months earning gold then converting gems to gold to buy the skins you want is the only way which is probably why they nerfed it “to spread the player activity” haha…ha…ha smh anet

I used my bday booster, mf booster and an omnom bar while I was farming. for a while I was getting 1-2s per champ just from looting(not opening the bags/box) so the game lags a bit and now I don’t get 1-2s per champ or monster I get items from the loot but no 1-2s not even a bit of copper wtf??? I tried re-logging and stuff and it doesn’t work.

I bought the gw2 deluxe edition a while ago and I was just searching around the site and I found this “Suit of Legacy Armor* Deck out your character with Profane, Krytan, or Primeval armor.” under gw2 deluxe edition and I didn’t get it? is it possible to still get it or is it only for new purchases on the deluxe edition?
