Keep in mind here, folks, I said this is something I would like to see and am surprised wasn’t done from the start. I’m not saying it’s something I feel Anet should absolutely, 100% do right here and now. I am in complete agreement that balance and bug-fixes comes first and foremost followed by future content. I’m currently levelling a Ranger so I know all about balance issues and bugs.

This is one of those things that could be done eventually. I just thought it was unusual considering how varied the racial aesthetics are in game that this one aspect was seemingly overlooked.

Because 15 people running around with Reeva or Maverick or Dinky wouldn’t make sense. It’d be nice for it to be warband members from the personal story but because so many people will have chosen the same Warband member it would break the bounds of any form of continuity the game may have between player-characters.

I like Euryale/Clawspur… and Reeva, (everyone likes Reeva.) >.>;

Simply have the NPC name show up as <XX Legion YY> for everyone other than the player, much in the same way that WvWvW names show up as <XX Invader> or <XX Beast>

+1 for a good idea.

It’s actually not being influenced by other MMOs in the slightest; you assume much. It’s influenced by the fact that Asura designs are not Charr designs are not Norn designs are not Human designs. Each is unique and I would like to see that aesthetic difference represented in the game.

Or are you telling me that Humans or Charr designed every turret used by Engineers of every race?

The attack still caused your pet to stop moving once it reached a position that allowed it to attack a target as all pet attack skills simply augmented the next attack the pet made. Some of them gave a refreshed or faster attack animation but the bottom line is every time the pets in GW1 attacked they stopped moving to do so.

Being atheistic means you don’t believe in gods.

The Charr believe in gods. They know gods exist. Because they crushed them.

Not true. The beings the Charr worshipped as “Gods” were the Titans/Destroyers much in the same way that the White Mantle worshipped the Mursaat, which were also not “Gods”.

What the Charr crushed were, in essence, False Gods and that’s how the Charr view them.

I’d be willing to bet that that’s actually what they had originally planned to do with the sparring partner; same thing for the other races, who all have biography questions that are under (or just plain not) utilized; they were all probably meant to alter your racial abilities in one way or another.

Not entirely sure why that idea would be dropped, but I imagine a possible reason for warband support, in particular, would be the question of what happens if someone over-levels their personal story, and has access to the ability while actually doing personal story quests that involve your sparring partner. Would you then be able to have two Reevas running around with you, or whatever?

Spirits are useless in dungeons.

The only spirit worth using, in my opinion, is the one that cleanses conditions and revives allies.

The rest of the spirits just die too quickly due to everything blasting AoE death everywhere, have low effect % chances and low buff ranges. Because of these issues it’s just not worth “wasting” the utility slots on them.

what annoys me the most is not the long grind in GW2 (have them all) but that these pets are completely BS…
The stats are not good compaired to the normal juvinile pets

They shouldn’t be any better then the other pets. They should only be pure cosmetic. If they were more powerful then the other pets then it would force people like myself to buy GW1 just to get the best pet for the best dps. I’m a little bummed I can’t get the white raven but I can live with that because it’s no different then the black one other then it’s color.

The problem has nothing to do with the HoM pets not being BETTER than the Juvenile pets. It has everything to do with the fact that the HoM pets are WORSE than the Juvenile pets.

HoM pets have lower stats than Juvenile pets.

No, pets in GW1 had to stop to attack just as they do in GW2 and had argueably longer wind-ups before attacking. However, there were more skills available to the Ranger in GW1 that would increase attack speed, which increased the attack animation, and movement speed, which allowed the pet to catch up to targets that had moved away from them.

I’m not a huge fan of the pre-landing “float” that occurs. I would rather see a nice, smooth arc to landing. If it’s an issue of timing they could simply reduce to travel speed of the character’s flight to impact.

So let me say I absolutely love the Engineer. It’s a fun, diverse and quirky class that suits a large variety of playstyles. I adore being able to swap kits to alter my combat experience to keep things fresh and mix things up from time to time.

One thing that kinda irks me, however, that I honestly expected to see from such a visually diverse and aesthetically appealing game, however, is so minor a detail it almost pains me to bring it up. However, I do feel like mentioning this because I notice it every time I play my Engineer.

Each race has a large variation where aesthetics are concerned be it character design, armour design or racial architecture. Each race’s section of the world is visually unique. Heck, there are even weapons that are distinctly influenced by the different races, such as the Asuran styled pistols, rifles and bows.

It’s due to this fact that I would love to see the same design ideas applied to the Engineer’s Turrets in much the same way – please forgive me for this comparison – Shaman Totems in WoW were eventually made to be visually unique.

For example, Asura Turrets could reflect Golemancy designs with sharp angles and disjointed parts formed around power crystals similar to what we see in Inquest occupied regions. Charr Turrets could be a patchwork of thick, mis-matched metal plates and cogs that reflect the Iron Legion. Norn Turrets could be more totemic in nature, their designs reflecting the different beast spirits they worship. Sylvari could lay down seed turrets similar to their racial abilities. And I feel that the current turrets are perfectly suited to the humans.

The different turrets could even use different attack graphics and sounds. Asura turrets could fire lightning. Norn turrets, arrows. Charr and Human, bullets. And Sylvari, seeds.

Does anyone else feel the same as I do on this? I freely admit this is a very minor detail and pales in comparison to the intricacies of the Engineer as a whole. It makes no difference mechanically and doesn’t even have a large impact on the game since few serious builds seem to revolve around turrets. But it is something that, as I said before, I believe would help to add some diversity to Engineers of different races.

Pets are a hindrance when attempting jumping puzzles as they can obscure your view of narrow ledges. Being able to permanently stow them would be nice.

The HoM pets need to have the same stats as their normal counterparts. Compare the Black Widow to the Juvenile <insert type here> Spider and you’ll notice a large disparity between – I believe it was – the Vigor of the Juvenile and the Vigor of the Widow.

Let’s see here…

1) Pet AI is terrible. F2 skill takes too long. Pets need to be able to attack while moving.
2) Longbow is mediocre at best. Sword is “sticky” causing dodging issues. Greatsword damage is lackluster.
3) Sneeze on a spirit and it dies. % chance is not worthwhile. Short buff radius.
4) Some traits flat out don’t work. See bugs sticky for more information.
5) Traps traits are in the wrong trait line. Traps traits should be in CONDITION DAMAGE trait line.

Just a few of the issues I see with Rangers.

Use the Charrzooka in WvW and you will win every engagement. Why? Because your enemy will be too busy laughing at you to defend themselves.

I tested this yesterday on Bandits with a Shortbow and the Vulnerability most definitely wasn’t working even when at point-blank range for my first attack.

I love it on my Engi because it gives party-wide might and fury and the tool belt skill for it gives party-wide vigor. Very sexy.

Could you imagine, though, if twenty Charr characters grouped up and, all at once, summoned Dinky? I’m sure that’s the reason we are stuck with “Unnamed Legion Member 1 and 2”.

If you pop yourself into combat-mode so you’re standing on two-legs while you run and then jump down ANY form of a decline, no matter how slight, you will always be treated to the tell-tale “HYEAAARRRRRRGH!!”. Apparently the Charr are absolutely terrified of any height.

Try checking to see if they can hear you with Voice Activation enabled.

Edit: Though it does sound like a “Run as Admin” issue.

I think the rollback was an unintended side effect of the server outage. Folks who didn’t get disconnected had their characters saved after the servers came back up. Because of the outage the characters of those who got disconnected were unable to be saved prior to the disconnect.

I’m speculating here, but it makes sense.

i gess someone found an exploit and they decided to roll back the entire players to fix it instead of giving someone the boot apparently this must be the issue cause no actions are taken to the botters and gold sellers because the exploiter are the hot subject atm

Only people who lost connection got rolled back. Everyone who remained logged on did not.
