VidMem = 0 MB

Edit: Restarted the computer again and it resolved itself. Very strange.

Edit2: Figured out the cause of the crash. For some reason the 64-bit launcher does not play nicely with Xsplit Broadcaster. When I launch GW2 with Xsplit closed it launches fine. If I have Xsplit open I get the error.

Edit3: Even changing maps with Xsplit open causes the crash.

Edit4: Apparently changing maps if Xsplit has BEEN open at the same time as GW2 causes the crash.

I’m going to test something when I get home but I wonder if there may have been an issue when a targeted mob died mid-channel where the channel had to complete before the next attack could be started.

I’ve been using “allow skill retargeting” so I hadn’t noticed if that was the case. If it was and, now, the channel cancels immediately upon the target dying I can see this being beneficial for folks not using skill retargeting.

I’m not sure, though. I feel this is going to make it feel much too spammy for my liking.

Nope, it’s not. It’s just janky as all hell right now.

Having to summon the tablet wouldn’t be so bad if you could ground target summon it instead of it summoning directly under the Revenant. As it is we have to waste time summoning it and then waste more time moving it to the location we want it to be. If we could just summon it at a location of our choosing it wouldn’t feel so clunky.

Llethander.3972

Is there a way to verify you are using the 64 bit version?

Open the task manager and watch the memory values for the GW2 task. If it goes over around 3.5gb (3500mb) or so then you’re using the 64 bit launcher.

Yeah, it’s because you’re in an area that doesn’t count towards map completion.

You can repurchase the chest after the first time you earn it. It only costs some karma – the amount may differ based on level but on my 73 Revenant it’s 10,003 Karma.

Paysafe cards are only able to be used for gem store purchases (ie. gems) in select countries, from what I can see.

64-bit Client Beta FAQ

in Account & Technical Support

Llethander.3972

During play sessions i get a few times huge fps spikes/lag/stutter that lasts for max 10 secs. If i am listening to anything in the background like utube it also stutters the sound while this lasts. This can happen at anytime, tho mostlikely in graphical intensive encounters, usually once per pvp match which results in me dying.

Is there a way to troubleshoot this? Gfx to alter in settings? It all happened after i started using the 64bit client, and ive always ran all gfx settings on max prior just fine.

Win 10, i7 3770k, SSD, gfx 680, msi 1155, 16 gb ram

If i were to go bk to 32bit client i would start crashing again, compared to the short unplayable stutter now.

Bump. Anyone else experiencing this, tips? They still going strong

This is the same as what I’ve been dealing with. I haven’t found any way around it.

I have the shame issue mate on Windows 10 Build 10240 and i fix it from the device manager, if you see your vga with yellow exclamation mark just disable it and enable it again, unfortunately you have to do it in every system reboot. But from when i upgrade to Windows 10 Build 10586 the problem is stop, good luck.

Just wanted to point out that you replied to a 3-month-old thread.

I’ll just leave this here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/support/64-bit-Client-Beta-FAQ

If you’re on a 32-bit CPU/OS, well it’s about time to upgrade. There’s honestly no reason to still be using 32-bit these days.

Wrong Gemstore Item, refund?

Submit a ticket, there’s a section there for “Gem Store Refund”. They’re usually really cool about it as long as you haven’t used the item.

Typically they’ll refund the gems and request that you delete the item or do it in the reverse order. I just finished getting a refund for the Harvesting/Logging flutes because I didn’t like them.

Keep in mind, though, that it’s not a sure thing.

Good luck!

Game slowness is unbearable

in Account & Technical Support

Posted by: Llethander.3972

Llethander.3972

While you’re in game, in the chat window type “/ip” without quotations.

This will give you the IP address for your server. Next, press the Windows Key and R together and in the box that opens type “cmd”, again without quotes, then press enter.

In the command prompt window that opens type “tracert <ip address here>” without brackets or quotations and wait for the trace route to finish. Look for any instances of *, as that symbol indicates a hop timing out, or a significant increase in returned latency as the trace moves farther from your computer.

If you do notice either some * symbols or a significant increase of latency then it’s likely there are traffic congestion issues or backbone/node issues somewhere between your computer and Anet’s servers. In a situation like this there’s not really anything that you can do and, depending on the location where issues are arising, not a lot that Anet can do to alleviate the situation.

Note: If you are using a router you will see one set of three * symbols early on – typically within the first three hops – but don’t worry because this is normal and isn’t a problem.

Three quarters of the time I don’t even bother with skills #1, #2 or #5 (unless I’m trying to knock down a break bar) because the first two are too difficult to reliably hit unless dealing with a group of melee mindlessly hacking away at an enemy.

Skill #3 is great since it’s got a large enough AoE that I can reliably hit what I’m trying to heal and #4 is just downright amazing, though I wouldn’t mind seeing a slight radius increase.

The issue I have with disabling player nameplates is the fact that it makes it more difficult to distinguish between players, clones, and NPCs. I spend a lot of time playing Druid and the lack of an option to toggle on healthbars makes it more difficult to know where I need to position myself to support folks in larger events.

At least with nameplates turned on I can quickly mouse over groups of players to see who is dangerously low on health so that I can reposition, pop CaF, and start popping #3 and #4.

The nameplates aren’t my issue, though. The bright flashing bundle of skill effects obscuring the entire enemy creature is my issue.

Jewelcrafting: Defunct Craft?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Llethander.3972

Llethander.3972

So, I’m just curious as to whether there are any plans to breathe new life into the Jeweler craft as, currently, it is capped at 400 and is, for the most part, rather pointless. It seems like a bit of a newbie trap at the moment, in my opinion, since newer players may not realize that, if they choose Jeweler as one of their crafts, they will be levelling a defunct craft.

I would love to see the ability to craft minis, toys, or other miscellaneous goodies since actual gear (rings, amulets, etc) seems pointless what with the availability of exotics through other means (laurels, badges, etc) unless there are plans to introduce Legendary jewelry along with the Legendary armours.

Ultimately, though, I’d love to see Jeweler become a “fun and quirky” crafting profession as I feel that that would be a means to make it relevant, more or less.

Thoughts?

Sadly its still asking me to redownload the game, I guess I’m gonna have to.

It makes me do it too if I select the 64-exe. The only way I figured out how to do it without re-downloading was to drag the 64-exe over the 32-exe in the gw2 folder. There has got to be a way to make this automatic.

Edited: I noticed if I disabled the Read Only settings to the entire gw2 file, it began to work automatically.

Move the 64-exe into the GW2 folder (that’s what you’re supposed to do) and right-click -> Send to -> Desktop (Create Shortcut).

This will let you use the icon on your desktop to launch the 64-bit client without it trying to download the game or having to go into the folder to launch the game.

Easy fix, other games do it.

Fade out/transparentize/remove effects that are 1. Not Cast By You; 2. Can’t Hurt You; 3: Can’t Help You.

Agreed. That would, ultimately, be the simplest solution.

A certain level of impact is nice, and to some extent required, for our own skills so that we know they are actually having an effect on the target. We don’t, however, need to be able to see the impact of every single player’s skills on a target (ie. the explosions or flashes caused by skills) unless they, in some way, have a direct effect on us (ie. skill fields).

This is regarding the recent attempt at “toning down” some of the flashier skill effects to make the game more readable.

It didn’t work. The issue does not lie with one or two big, flashy spell effects (eg. Orbital Strike) but with the spam of quickly-used skills such as most classes’ weapon skill #1. In many boss fights with “normal” sized enemies it becomes almost impossible to make out the character model of the enemy let alone see its attacks in order to dodge.

Skill fields need to be viewable for finishers but many of the basic skill effects don’t matter to the player from whom it is not originating unless in PvP at which point it helps to be able to see what’kittenting you.

I’ll attach an example screenshot of this.

Unfortunately I don’t know what can be done about this as I don’t know what limitations there are regarding the possibility of a control slider or option to control how many non-field skill effects are displayed, much like character model display, or a culling system that removes unnecessary spell effects from other players while leaving your own visible to keep the “impact” of our own skills in place.

Thoughts?
