Whirlpool was literally the ONLY skill an elementalist had that could dish out the damage the class is supposed to deal. And now they cut it by 33%.

This must be a recent change because I ended up dying so many times all my armor was broken and never did the checkpoint work for me.

Correction, ‘most’ classes have a bunch to work with. Elementalist has maybe 2 or 3 builds that work for specific situations currently.

The majority of the game is PvE; that’s the point. By increasing our CD’s on all of our useful skills in PvE, they make us suck even worse.

The point is that an elementalist currently has to single target dps most of the time just to survive anyways.

So 5 times faster single target DPS > Elementalist slow casting lame damage.

Ya, the elementalist damage is low compared to every class except the ranger and you know what sucks even more for me? My first 2 characters are an ele and a ranger, but you wont see me quit no. And you know why? because those 2 classes are not going to be forever weak, in a few months or weeks is going to be a distant memory.

Did you just seriously say it’s low compared to every class except a ranger? A ranger may have low damage attacks, but they attack at least 5 times faster than we do with a bow.

If only that were the case. I spent 2 hours on that part of the quest before finally managing to get past it. Dying just started me back at the start.

In which case my name will likely get forcibly changed too if the Dev’s feed into their whining.

I personally hope that’s not the case here as a large population of the planet is NOT christian.

Illusory Reposte is a counter skill, not a ranged skill. And though the #2 skill causes blur, it’s got 10 second cooldown. Therefore for 10 seconds your squishy kitten is getting beat down in PvE.

We do all of our damage from range, they do all theirs from up close.

You’re trolling, right? One of the strongest weapon sets for mesmers is dual swords.

Again I’ll mention that MF can be stacked without having to use gear with the stat. Add Pirate and Traveler runes to gear for MF. Add Luck sigils to weapons for MF.

Why does everyone think of all skills in only terms of PvP? That #2 skill in downed state has saved my kitten plenty of times in PvE.

In other words the OP is lazy and doesn’t want to take the time to level a new character.

There will obviously be more dragons in future updates.

I’m running full carrion gear with pirate runes, and as an ele I can still solo most veteran mobs and deal quite a bit of damage to champions.

I say the game is amazing and quite fun, but with the economy the way it is and everything being so expensive; the idea of diminishing returns outside of dungeons is just overkill. Removing the players options for making money just isn’t smart.

Change it up a little then? For instance if you’re playing an elementalist who only works with fire and air; start running with an ice/water build.

God you people will find any reason to complain! I suppose next you’re going to say “He’s got a set of pirate runes in his berserker/carrion gear. KICK HIM HE’S STATTED FOR MF!”
