It doesn’t help that the rewards you DO get from playing “legit” and not farming(Say dungeon drops, or dungeon chests) aren’t worth much as is.

It’s still an idiotic idea to have them tell you “If you kill x amount of monsters in this area you won’t get any drops/karma/coin.”
I understand they want you to explore the world, but even with 100% map completion people will have preferred area’s to make money.
Taking the nazi restrictive approach to gaming isn’t going to make people want to keep playing if they hit a cap for killing x monsters in said area and can’t get anything else out of it.

Again you’re assuming that the DR won’t kick in if you’re going from zone to zone. At the moment that’s just not the case.

Yeah I saw some of those hacks in action. Melee players attacking monsters from 100 feet away and then teleporting to them.

Yeah…well putting in caps of item drops isn’t doing much to get rid of botters or hackers either. Sure they’ll get less drops, but that’s a far stretch from removing the problem.

Not everyone who farms for equipment came from WoW Gideon. Pull the stick out of yourkitten
A lot of people will farm specific monsters for specific drops(you know, totems, bones, bloods, etc.) because they need those specific items for crafting. Or they’ll find a good place to farm monsters for drops because there’s a good respawn rate on said monsters. There’s really not a whole lot of other ways to go about getting the crafting mats or making money. Sure you can farm nodes from zone to zone to sell on the TP, but then you’re just exchanging one method of farming for another. Just because YOU don’t think people should be able to farm to make money; doesn’t mean that that’s how it should be.
Sure there should be measures in place to stop botters and hackers from exploiting(you know, like putting in a system like game guard to prevent 3rd party programs for example.)

The trigger for diminishing returns isn’t very high at all actually. And it just started yesterday. Also bones/crafting mats I haven’t noticed a huge hit in. It’s the actual item drops(armor/weapons/etc.) that are getting the big nerf.
I’m not even going to touch what you said about exotics.
It’s been posted before that this happens with that specific box set. And Anet doesn’t refund purchases from the TP.

+1 this post. The repair bill isn’t worth the effort.
The trading post takes away from people’s sense of pride in their work though. When you post something on the trading post your name isn’t attached. Nobody knows who made the equipment. Therefore nobody knows who to talk to to have equipment crafted.
Also a P2P trading system would be beneficial; I don’t care what anyone says against it.
I completely agree. The only way to keep Magg alive long enough is for everyone in the party to die at least 3 times.

A weapon slot for every weapon combination? That seems to be a bit much. All other classes get 2 weapon slots.

Yes the diminishing returns thing is rather annoying. It’s hard enough to make money without them cutting your drop rate from monsters that should give you decent drops.
Yeah…considering the game is called “Guild Wars” It would be nice if we could partake in them. With that said I doubt it will be implemented until they give us guild bases.
My guild isn’t from canada, but most of us are in the eastern time zone. I personally live in michigan. We’re on the Sorrow’s Furnace server though. So if you’re willing to transfer we’d welcome you.

Okay question. Do you delete your mail from quests and renowned hearts regularly? I had this problem at one point too and as soon as I cleaned out my mailbox I started receiving all the mail I was supposed to have gotten.

that’s the point, so it can be taxed, for those worried about trading getting around that.
That’s a stupid idea though. People should be able to say to someone they’re running a dungeon or something with “I’ll trade you this item for that one” without having to worry about getting ripped off via the mail system.

You know there is a spam filter built into the game so you can’t send more than like 5 messages without getting stopped for a while.
But it sounds like you don’t want P2P trading because you don’t want chat to inconvenience you. Which is selfish.
The Sc s currently recruiting in Sorrow’s Furnace. We’ve been gaming together for 7 years now and like to have fun and help each other with whatever is needed. We have ventrilo and a website and are a semi-hardcore guild that is doing a little of everything right now.
Ditto on that one. We’re a pretty small group right now. It’s a pain recruiting when you don’t actually NEED a guild to do anything.
I was Loosifah/Hedetet in rift with the guild The Sic.
Someone just posted a similar thread. And it’s as Kethryes said. I’ve had the issue every time they update the game. What I do is go to the auction house and click on something so it’ll grey out. Afterwords I shut down the game completely. Then start it up again. I log back in it works again.
I’d like to see a P2P trading system. I think it’skitten that you can’t flat out open a trade window with someone for an exchange of goods. Instead if you want to trade with someone you have to mail them the item and HOPE they don’t just run off with your stuff.
Also if you’re nearby water deep enough to swim in mist form into the water generally breaks aggro and allows for you to heal.
I’ve not used mine yet because of the time limit. I figured I’d start using it when my guild starts doing dungeons or something.
This usually happens to me right after an update for the game. The way I fix it is by going to the trading post, seeing that it’s grayed out, then closing the game and logging back in.
When I log back in 99% of the time it’s working again.
